Ordered 2 dinners which came with a lot of stuff and not only was it perfectly fresh it was delicious, full of flavor and not sickly looking veggies. Glad i finally found a great chinese food restaurant in my area.

As many people have pointed out, the food is always fresh and nicely prepared. The portions are generous for reasonable prices, and the restaurant is clean. Cash only. "Ten minutes!"

Old “old standby” for Chinese has gone downhill of late, so we decided to give this place a try. I am someone who always prefers to pick up their food as opposed to do delivery, so being on Hertel parking is always questionable, but I haven’t had any issues yet finding something near by. Our biggest gripe with the other place was it became too greasy. This food is not; depending what you order it is of course quickly fried to go, but doesn’t seem to be greasy which is a plus. Have tried a variety of menu items and all are good. Enormous portion sizes which make for great leftovers and very reasonable prices. They are CASH ONLY, but the woman who takes the other specifies as such when you place the order so you can come prepared. One thing specifically in this age of Covid is cleanliness. They seem to have done a lot in terms of making their workers and customers safe with installing barriers and whatnot. I always see masks being worn, which is not always the case. All these reasons keep me coming back.

for the portions and prices, they were all very worth it. the service was amazing as well, as they gifted us a free order of a fried donut! place was small and quaint but many came due to service and food, if back in buffalo would come again!

Let me start by saying that Chinese food isn’t my top choice. I like it, but my companion loves it and could probably eat it every day. Luckily, we have plenty of options in the city to choose from. Every couple of months, when I’m in the mood for Chinese, we come here. The food is always hot, fresh, and cooked just right. They’re really generous with the extra egg rolls, and sometimes they throw in those sweet little donut treats too. The staff is super friendly, and they do appreciate when you pay in cash. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone in North Buffalo looking for great Chinese takeout.

Everywhere else switched to the premade frozen gyoza style from the restaurant vendors, but these folks still have the good guotie style dumplings. New favourite Chinese restaurant in Buffalo. My first time ordering from China Star and I requested to shrimp fried White rice instead of the yellow rice and they were happy to accomodate me. The rice was great and they were generous with the shrimp too..my egg roll was extra crispy..made for a delicious lunch🥰 will order again and update if I need to.

Also I’d add their kids that handle the front register and orders are so well mannered and very respectful so they deserve recognition, and it’s a pleasure ordering from here because they are very honest and polite people and are obviously very good for the community overall. I would recommend them over any Chinese restaurant in the north Buffalo community. Great job China Star!

Typical good Chinese food. The large sizes are very generous portions and good value. Every now and then their credit card machine "breaks" and they only take cash. In exchange for this inconvenience, they give you free egg rolls. They lose a star for me because they've recently switched to using a lot of Styrofoam containers, which are very wasteful.

Really solid place. Its usually a go to when I just I'm in a rush and limited on time to cook. But the food is always spot on and the speed is always until 10 mins. You also get healthy portions for the value

Out of all the Chinese places that I've been to in Buffalo this is one of the better ones I'm not saying that there's a possibility that you might get something on the menu that's not good I have gotten one or two things that I have not liked but overall it's one of the better places. Some of their chicken like the bourbon chicken absolutely stay away the chicken is always tough that is the only reason I had given it 4 stars instead of 5.

I got 4 items that where not to expensive and my order was over 20 dollars. Next time I will go to the restaurant and pick up my order will be way cheaper. But I do love the food though even though I can't eat everything cause I have to eat gluten free.

Classic Chinese joint. They just don’t hit the same as most other places. Their sesame chicken was a little soggy not crunchy enough. Their wonton soup just wasn’t all there in terms of flavor. But at the end of the day they got the job done. The lomein was good egg rolls were good and they were fast. Definitely could be WAY WORSE

Food was just OK, egg rolls were the best thing in the order.. they asked me to go to the ATM across the street to get cash to pay for my order...uggh... Finally, any Chinese restaurant that gives you duck sauce and hot mustard in packets is not worth a revisit.

I don't think they season their woks well enough, or they put too much acid in some of their foods so it eats away at their patina. Many times their food has tasted metallic Hope they fix it because I used to like this place

First & last time ordered general tso chicken w/vegetable rice & vegetable egg roll w/crab wonton I took few bites threw it allllll away. Chicken was too salty Crab wonton was fried too hard Rice was bland & only had chunks of broccoli no other vegetables

My mother and sister ordered frim thod restaurant and had thevfood delivered. Not only was the food old and overcooked but it tasted like it had been sitting out for awhile. When they called to ask for new food to be cooked and delivered they were told no they were too busy and treated very nasty. DO NOT GIVE THIS RESTAURANT ANYMORE BUS INESS!!!!!! The rice was bland! And as far as the wonton soup, the wonton were all falling apart! Did I receive OLD FOOD? I wasted over 30 bucks on dinner...I truly miss the ORIGINAL China Star, their food was always FRESH.

Now, it's just a waste of time and money. So, I repeat, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, or you'll be sorry you didn't...
