We have been ordering takeout from China Star for more than ten years. The food has not changed one bit. Delicious. Fast. Clean. We usually get the mu shoo vegetable and add broccoli, extra pancakes and extra hoisin. So good. If you love cabbage dishes this is a must try. They keep it a little crispy and that’s important. We also order sesame chicken extra crispy with white meat and it is also really good. The egg and spring rolls are fresh and crispy. The lomein is delish, etc. etc. They are awesome people. Very flexible and caring towards their customers. They’ll make your dish just the way you like it every time. And, after awhile, when you call they'll already know your order. Love that. We don’t eat out a lot because we enjoy cooking at home, but China Star feels like you’re ordering from family, NB community family. Just read the other reviews. Great to see first timers saying the exact same thing. This has been our spot for a very long time and we hope they never change!

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Quick service the food is good and doesn't look like mystery meat. The portions are generous and it's your average Chinese restaurant price. It's always 10 min for pick up.

I've probably eaten too much chinese food in my life so I've tried a lot of places. China Star wins easily. I had my wisdom teeth out so when we ordered we expected to not be able to get what we normally do, but then we now know they'll alter the order for you. the people that work here are so sweet and patient, I've never left with anything but a smile.

Fast, well prepared food. Better than any other chinese restaurant I've tried in the area. China Star trumps them all that's why I gave them 5 stars. The rice wasn't mushy or over cooked, the wonton soup was well flavored, and the shrimp egg rolls were very large and crispy, not soggy or greasy at all.

Old “old standby” for Chinese has gone downhill of late, so we decided to give this place a try. I am someone who always prefers to pick up their food as opposed to do delivery, so being on Hertel parking is always questionable, but I haven’t had any issues yet finding something near by. Our biggest gripe with the other place was it became too greasy. This food is not; depending what you order it is of course quickly fried to go, but doesn’t seem to be greasy which is a plus. Have tried a variety of menu items and all are good. Enormous portion sizes which make for great leftovers and very reasonable prices. They are CASH ONLY, but the woman who takes the other specifies as such when you place the order so you can come prepared. One thing specifically in this age of Covid is cleanliness. They seem to have done a lot in terms of making their workers and customers safe with installing barriers and whatnot. I always see masks being worn, which is not always the case. All these reasons keep me coming back.

Let me start by saying that Chinese food isn’t my top choice. I like it, but my companion loves it and could probably eat it every day. Luckily, we have plenty of options in the city to choose from. Every couple of months, when I’m in the mood for Chinese, we come here. The food is always hot, fresh, and cooked just right. They’re really generous with the extra egg rolls, and sometimes they throw in those sweet little donut treats too. The staff is super friendly, and they do appreciate when you pay in cash. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone in North Buffalo looking for great Chinese takeout.

My first time ordering from China Star and I requested to shrimp fried White rice instead of the yellow rice and they were happy to accomodate me. The rice was great and they were generous with the shrimp too..my egg roll was extra crispy..made for a delicious lunch🥰 will order again and update if I need to.

Typical good Chinese food. The large sizes are very generous portions and good value. Every now and then their credit card machine "breaks" and they only take cash. In exchange for this inconvenience, they give you free egg rolls. They lose a star for me because they've recently switched to using a lot of Styrofoam containers, which are very wasteful.

Really solid place. Its usually a go to when I just I'm in a rush and limited on time to cook. But the food is always spot on and the speed is always until 10 mins. You also get healthy portions for the value

Out of all the Chinese places that I've been to in Buffalo this is one of the better ones I'm not saying that there's a possibility that you might get something on the menu that's not good I have gotten one or two things that I have not liked but overall it's one of the better places. Some of their chicken like the bourbon chicken absolutely stay away the chicken is always tough that is the only reason I had given it 4 stars instead of 5.

If you feel like cheap take-out Chinese food, this is the place. The hunan chicken is pretty good!

I got 4 items that where not to expensive and my order was over 20 dollars. Next time I will go to the restaurant and pick up my order will be way cheaper. But I do love the food though even though I can't eat everything cause I have to eat gluten free.

Classic Chinese joint. They just don’t hit the same as most other places. Their sesame chicken was a little soggy not crunchy enough. Their wonton soup just wasn’t all there in terms of flavor. But at the end of the day they got the job done. The lomein was good egg rolls were good and they were fast. Definitely could be WAY WORSE

My mother and sister ordered frim thod restaurant and had thevfood delivered. Not only was the food old and overcooked but it tasted like it had been sitting out for awhile. When they called to ask for new food to be cooked and delivered they were told no they were too busy and treated very nasty. DO NOT GIVE THIS RESTAURANT ANYMORE BUS INESS!!!!!!
