I've waiting over a year just to return for the tuna nachos.... and they were amazing 🤤. Jonathan and Jennifer were great (not pushy). Ate for 20 min straight and it still looked like I didn't do any damage. I was told long ago, if you don't get nachos on you while you eat at some point, they weren't that good..... Griffin did not disappoint!👏 see you next month
Really nice river front restaurant - both casual and elegant. They have the pub area and the dining area that seems pretty romantic. Plenty of parking with very friendly staff. The menu is reasonably priced. Although most of the food are like pub food, we enjoyed both the meals we had. The grilled caesar salad was unique and the fish and chips was also pretty good. A glass of wine was $10 - 12. Service was great. It's the perfect restaurant for both couples and families.
This gastropub is a great spot for a relaxed dinner with tasty appetizers, a peaceful river view, and a solid selection of beer and cider. The atmosphere is warm, and we really enjoyed our time here. The Bahn Mi Nachos are a highlight, especially for sharing—the wonton chips are crunchy, with plenty of fresh poke and flavorful sauces. If you like poke, this dish is a great choice. We also tried the homemade chicken tenders, which were juicy and came in a large portion. The river view is beautiful and very calming.
We dined last nite with our party if ten. The service and food were excellent! The staff at the bar and our waitress were superb at what they do and I thank u for a wonderful memory with our family
An incredible restaurant with amazing food and staff! Always get 5 star service when we go. We are seated quickly, and they are always super efficient! I would recommend booking a reservation since they are always very busy, because it is so good! I recommend their corn dip, grilled cheese bites and chicken caprese as well as multiple other dishes. I haven’t had a bad thing once in the times I have been! Highly recommend! It is also in a beautiful area!
Our first time here and you are first welcomed by the beautiful festive atmosphere, while overlooking the river below. Lisa greeted us and took our order. The food was AMAZING!! It’s not always easy to find a great place that serves both meat and vegan eaters. There were multiple vegan options and I wound up ordering the Umami Bomb and that is exactly what it was! So incredible. I have to now say this is by far my favorite meal out anywhere!! I just wish you were closer to us. My husband ordered the filet mignon and said it was quite delicious. Thank you for putting love into your food, your staff and your environment. It truly shows!
What a great experience! We showed up with huge group (20!) on a Friday afternoon and they were very accommodating and we had great service! Everyone loved their food and the view across the river into Canada was beautiful. Great service, clean, good food, and a beautiful view…this place checks all the boxes!
My boyfriend and I took a day trip to Niagara falls and stopped in Lewiston for dinner, we were not disappointed! The fried grilled cheese was amazing, but the dip is what sold the show! We both had mocktails that were amazing and our main meals were also amazing! The view added to dinner and we left super full and happy!
The restaurant overall is very nice! It has a cozy and elegant atmosphere. I ordered a mojito and a margarita …. I preferred the mojito 🤭. For the appetizer, I had the lobster mac and cheese bisque, which was really good! For the main course, I ordered the beef on weck… it was a bit flavorless. A friend ordered a burger, and it was way more delicious than my dish! The waiter was very attentive!
Another great evening - twice this week, so we could try other menu items we missed a few days ago. The char grilled wings and turkey burger had great flavor and came out piping hot. We also loved the chicken caprese and the two perfectly decadent desserts we ordered - bananas foster cheesecake and chocolate peanut butter cake. The only small critique is that there were chicken droppings on the floor around our table and grease on the chairs from previous guests (we wiped off before sitting down). A quick sweep and wipe down of chairs between messy patrons is always appropriate but this was a busy Thursday. Service and food were excellent as was the beautiful view. Recommend enjoying this place if you are in town.
We stopped by on our way to Artpark. It was our first time at this location. Let me say it’s beautiful and they have a gorgeous spot right on the water. It wasn’t busy so we were seated and helped quickly. We ordered Tokyo burnouts and handmade chicken tenders which came with fries. Tokyo burnouts were good, came with a lot of pork and overall had a nice flavor. It was a decent size and I was full after. My only call out is that the pork was very smoky and it seemed like liquid smoke. Personally not my favorite because it feels very synthetic and then you aren’t really getting a burnt end. My husband loved his chicken fingers. He said they were tasty, a generous portion and he was very happy they were homemade. Griffon does a great job making sure you have a nice experience throughout their locations. Our server was a doll and got us in and out quickly so we could make it to our concert in time.
My wife and I had a great time visiting Griffons. Our server Dalton was great, right from the start. We were fortunate enough to be able to spend enough time enjoying our meal. That we were able to watch the sun set on the Niagara River. The food we ordered was great. Also having a few of the staff, share in the enthusiasm of celebrating our anniversary. Thanks guys. 🙏😁👍
Went here for dinner. Beautiful view over looking the Niagara river. We were served by a very friendly waitress. Almost overwhelming choices of beer but they have what you will want. Nice menu with many options. A bit higher prices but the portions help compensate. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. Worth the few extra bucks.
Came here for a birthday dinner. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was very pleasant and personable. After devouring the garlic-butter gnocchi for an appetizer, our meals came right out and were.....amazing. First of all, when my husband raves about a fish dish, it must have been great! So happy we made the drive.
We came here based on a suggestion of our tour guide and it didn't disappoint! The place has a lovely view of the Niagara stream, and had available tables with the view despite it being Sunday night. We ordered pizza logs, crab pretzels and both were very good. The can try many of their flavors. We enjoyed the tiramisu flavored stout and the strawberry sour beer. Just be careful because menu items change from location to location, and we didn't find a couple of things we were eyeing in this location. I'd definitely recommend overall!
First time at Lewiston location: My burger was very good but I had a traditional cheeseburger, nothing fancy. Very juicy and cooked perfectly. Exceeded my expectations. Lots of side choices too. My husband tried the Mafia burger. It was loaded with too much other stuff you couldn't actually taste the burger. It was also very sloppy. The pickles were amazing. It was not busy when we dined, went on a weekday, so noise was not a factor. I can imagine it would be very loud when full and at peak volume. That would definitely prevent me from going on a weekend. Staff were friendly and attentive. I would like to go back in the summer to experience the beautiful river view. We went after 6pm and it was dark already so we didn't see much of the water. The 42 North Oatmeal Cookie beer was also quite delicious.
We love Griffon, and visit often— the location couldn’t be better. The place is packed for a reason: they pair a prime location with tasty Americana pub-style fare. As a big fan of the establishment, we still want to lovingly suggest that the tables outside get a weekly good brush or hose down to clear food out of the grooves and slats. We enjoyed our meal on Sunday. With the exception of the cucumber-and-tomato salad, which was not the most appealing (or freshest), it was delicious. The corn fritters are a special yummy dessert/donut-like treat… we recommend them.
We were looking for a day trip, so we decided to visit Lewiston. We'd heard great things about Griffon Gastropub, and it didn't disappoint! The restaurant is located right on the lower Niagara River. It shares a building with Whirlpool Jetboat Tours, which is a great experience in itself. We were there on a beautiful summer day and sat on the patio overlooking the water. You can dine indoors on the street level or outdoors on the patio below, which has both covered and uncovered seating with umbrellas. We shared the chicken tenders, and they were incredible. They tasted homemade and came with many different sauce options. The service was also great, with plenty of staff on hand to help. They also have a stage for live music with a lot of events throughout the summer (pic of the band in this post). I would highly recommend visiting the Griffon Gastropub!
Stopped here for a late lunch. I would have rated everything 5 stars accept for the hostess. She did not greet us when we came in, was unfriendly, led the way to our table but just placed the menus on a table and walked on. Not saying anything at the table she was placing us at. If it wasn't for our friendly waitress the whole experience would have been soured. When a table became available outside our waitress was very accommodating switching us to the outside porch. The restaurant is quite large. One half of the restaurant gave an upscale sophisticated feel. While the side by the bar is more rustic. The outside decks were closed for the season. There are many tables by large windows to view the river. So it was nice to switch to the outside where you could get an even better view of the river and marina below. We were told that the chicken fingers were very good here. Normally that is not something I would order at a restaurant but I have to say they are the best I have ever had. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The two of us decided to share the 8 pc choice. There is so much meat on these we wish we had ordered the 4 pc to share. You have many choices of sauces to pick from. We chose the honey mustard, garlic parmesan and honey chipotle. All very good. We also decided to try the Poutine - a Canadian favorite of French fries with gravy and cheese curds. The salads looked very fresh here as well. This is definitely a place I would come back to again. I just wish they would train the hostess to be more friendly and talk somewhat to customers as she seats them.
