Opinions de Porto's Bakery & Cafe Burbank
I finally had the chance to visit Porto's Bakery & Cafe in Burbank, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The building itself is a local landmark with its beautiful and iconic architecture that stands out on the corner. As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by an amazing atmosphere and the sight of endless rows of fresh pastries, cakes, and breads. The display cases are filled with everything from their famous cheese rolls to colorful, high-quality cakes that look like pieces of art. For lunch, I tried one of their signature sandwiches served with crispy plantain chips and a fresh orange juice. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The staff is very efficient and friendly, even when the place is busy. Whether you are looking for a quick savory snack like their potato balls or a full meal, this place is a must-visit in Burbank. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Five stars!
I wish I could've ordered one of everything. The bakery items are so fresh and super reasonably priced! We ordered their brewed coffee which was organic and had great flavor. We also loved the breakfast and lunch items. Our favorite was the medianoche sandwhich.
It's always a little topsy turvy inside, often with lines out the door, but even on busy days the line moves quickly. It is our go-to spot for birthday cakes and lunch on weekends. Their cubano & plantains are my usual. They have an amazing and affordable array of pastries--sweet and savory. They also have a nice selection of coffees and teas.
Such an amazing bakery for cakes and their savoury snackh items. The cake really stole the show for us and was fresh evern after 3 days. This place was also voted as one of the best places to eat in USA - by a magazine.
Portos it’s a classic one I looove the ropa vieja plate 🤌🏻 And you can’t go wrong with a churro croissant. The service it’s fast so I recommend to look at the menu before you stand in line. The parking situation it’s a thing to consider, try to look for parking on the street.
It's worth the wait, it's worth the price. Coming in, parking might be a bit tough but there is street parking on all corners and near the dealership. There is a person to greet you, direct you to which line, and make sure the line isn't backed up which I appreciate. The menu is pretty self explanatory. There are a few people taking orders. They'll walk with you down the line of sweets they've got, help you pick as well. The food all tasted great. My steak sandwich was perfect, and I'd come back just for that.
They got the service part down. The line is usually long but it moves fast. We got the goodies and sat outside along the side walk on their bistro tables. They get filled up fast. Eat good but slow control yourself, smile and smirk too. Im having a good time. Try a few dont be scared. Take your mom a pastry
Porto’s is always our go-to spot whenever we’re in California! My family absolutely loves their savory and sweet selections — everything is always fresh, flavorful, and simply irresistible. The only reason I gave the Atmosphere 3 stars is because it’s always packed — long lines, limited seating, and a bit of chaos inside. But honestly, that just shows how good the place is! We always come prepared to wait, and it’s worth every minute. Their cheese rolls are hands down the best — perfectly flaky with a sweet, cheesy filling that makes you reach for seconds (or thirds!). A dozen never lasts long with us. Add in their guava pastries, chocolate croissants, and those famous potato balls, and you’ll quickly remember why the line doesn’t matter. If only there was a Porto’s in my city — I’d be there every weekend!
One of the best bakeries I've ever been to. Great hot food along with pastries and other products in addition like the sandwiches! This is a must go to place. Gotta love a old school Cuban bakery made into a quality place with quality service. Made it well worth it to stop here on our trip in LA!
Wow! This Porto’s bakery in Burbank Magnolia is lot different than Glendale at Brand Blvd which I never been to. But that’s cool! The parking space seems to be different than I expected. I could imagine that the service is busy and friendly with fast service. Coming to Porto’s is highly recommended for customers. Busier than usual. I love the taste of bakery and large cheese cake with heavy calories. Very satisfying. Must visit there for the first time with my friends and family.
With the business pace slammed when we walked in, Alyssa was the sweetest and most caring person this morning to me. She was attentive and very kind, very patient as I was picking things out as I ordered because I’ve never been here before. Brianna closed me out with a smile and we made short conversation about nice people which both of them are. 11/10 recommend oh and the food, extraordinary.
Holy crap! This was my first time visiting so I didn't really know what to expect. I did not expect to encounter such wide varieties of baked treats and goodies. It makes it REALLY hard to choose. Everything looked delicious. The line was long and took about 10 minutes to get to the area where you order. From there I waited about another 5 minutes, so not bad. But keep in mind this place is BUSY. This is not some cute little bakery and coffee shop, these people are throwing baked goods and everyone and getting them out the door lol. I had the chocolate croissant, the chocolate twist (not as good as the croissant) and the meat pie (should've gotten more of those). Everything was DELICIOUS! Not cafe in Paris quality, but for the price you truly can't beat it. For everything I think I paid like 7 bucks. The prices are stupid cheap and if I were a college student this would be where I lived 😂
Highly recommend checking out Porto's if you're new to LA! It's an institution and for good reason. They're extremely busy with long lines most of the day, but it moves fast and is a well oiled machine. Their chicken sandwich is soooo underrated, one of the best lunch items imo. Their prices are literally the best in LA, it's a marvel of a business. It's probably #1 for value, that's why it's so busy. Don't leave without picking up a few baked items and/or potato balls. I wish I could order ahead and pick up through their site, have always bummed about that but if you go at the right time (pre-or post lunch rush) it's not too hard to go in and grab something and be out within 10-15 min.
Milly is AMAZING!! Milly was extremely friendly and gave us great tips on the best seats in the restaurant (best lighting/air flow) and introduced us to the delicious plantain chips! Everything was so good. We had the Omelette Guacamole croissant, breakfast wrap, steak torta, potato balls, churro croissant, tiramisu, carrot cake, and matcha lattes and everything was absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to go back to visit Milly and eat more delicious food!
🌱 THE PRICING IS SOO GOOD it really lets you get a variety of things and try out different small bites/pastries with friends without losing an arm and leg in cost 🌱service is pretty fast given the amount of people inside.. it’s super busy but you don’t have to wait in line or for your food forever 🌱ordering method is across the counter using the menu fixed on the wall, no photos of food on the menu except on the online menu 🌱had a salad which was good (4 stars) but the bakery/desert items were reallyyy good.. the mango mousse bomb was actually probably the highest quality desert I’ve had in years... It passion fruit in it which was.. so… good… 🌱Coffee and drinks only in a large size which I thought was kind of fun.
12/2/2025 Porto's 3614 W Magnolia Blvd Burbank, CA 91505 This is a popular LA Cuban bakery chain. I ordered on-line for pick up at the Burbank store. The parking lot entrance is just before the place with an attendant. There is another lot around the corner. This place is huge with many display cases and interior seating. It was confusing where to pick up my order since there were several pay stations. Some of the staff kept on doing their work and ignored me when I waited at the wrong counter. The internet pick up is at the back right and indicated with a tiny card. Excellent pastry at a good value and very repeatable.
It looks like the fruit tart shell is filled to the brim with cream, but in reality there's an extra sponge layer inside and only a very thin layer of cream on top. If you're expecting a rich, creamy tart, you might be a little disappointed. Also, while the breads/pastries are tasty, a lot of them start to feel quite similar; almost like they're using the same base ingredients across multiple items. Still good, but just something to keep in mind when you're deciding what to order. One more note: I ordered an Iced Americano and it tasted a bit watered-down. I'd recommend adding an extra shot.
Porto’s Bakery on Magnolia Blvd is huge and very busy. They have a big menu with lots of sandwiches and pastries. However, if you are vegan, the options are very limited. Also, even for everyone else, the food was just okay. The pastries were fine, but nothing really stood out to me. We spent close to $70 for five people, which felt expensive for what we got. Because of that, the hype did not match the experience for us. Overall, it’s not bad, but I personally don’t see why people line up for it.
I ordered a red velvet cake for my husband’s birthday today, it’s his absolute favorite from Porto’s, and he was genuinely excited for it. I went there quietly and quickly to keep the surprise, and hurried to prepare everything before he came home. When I finally set up the surprise, I realized the cake was not red velvet. I can’t express how sad and disappointed I felt in that moment, since this was the only thing he specifically asked for. I still had to proceed with the birthday candle moment because I couldn’t imagine surprising him without a cake at all. I truly hope there’s a way to resolve this, as this really affected a special moment I wanted to create for him 💔
My sister in law brought a fruit tart for new year eve and I ended very disappointed about the quality so people who use to buy a tart before should know what I am talking about , now they stuffed with a layer of like a (cake bread ) or something like a porous bread in the middle which makes it feel soft and not crunchy like before and even is so pricey now for the size . I hope the owner has knowledge of this and will resolve it asap.
