1st time visit, had the large plate of meats. Very delicious, our other table mates enjoyed Chicken fried steak and sausages. The sides were all on point. Cream corn was savory, mashed potatoes was yummy as well. Offered military discount which is always a plus. Thank you. Have to visit more often now that we enjoyed this delicious BBQ.
First time here. We are moving to the neighborhood from Austin and I went to the drive through to try it. I was so pleased with the lovely service and big smile of the lovely lady at the window. I got a brisket taco and it was good, I’ll be back for more but what really made me happy was the most welcoming genuine smile from the staff😍 Thank you Patricia!
Love it, everything on the menu is delicious! The catfish has such a crispy batter that you can literally crack it and the steam streams out which makes the fish so flaky, tender and tasty it just melts in your mouth. The fried mushrooms are more like an entree than like an appetizer; they are so huge and delicious. Same thing goes for the chicken strips. The green beans have that cooked all day flavor you just have to try them for yourself. Oh yeah and then there's the barbecue which will definitely speak for itself!
This restaurant's food is insanely delicious! The brisket and chicken is cooked to perfection, love the sausage and turkey as well! The Mac-n-cheese, cream corn, and BBQ sauce are one of our favorite sides. The decor and dining areas of the place is very cozy and down to earth! There is plenty of seating, slightly close together, but overall really clean! The staff are really welcoming and kind!
Excellent ribs! I've had their brisket on a previous visit along with their delicious sides of macaroni and cheese and Cole slaw. They have other additional sides available you can try. For Lenten season, they now serve fish which looks just as delicious on their sample platter. You can dine in, seat outside or take out. The restaurant serves multiple combination of platters of pulled pork, chicken, sausage, pork ribs and brisket. They are now serving grilled corn on the cob. Price is $$, but great food. Great place to take the family out to eat! Ring the bell on your way out.....that means you enjoyed your meal!
You know how it is when you walk into your favorite relative's home for a cookout???? That's exactly how it felt when my family and I walked into Blanco's, we received the warmest welcome. The food was amazing, especially the brisket (mmm mmm mmm) but beside the delicious food, the customer service is what really got me. The entire staff is super friendly and helpful and we will definitely come again all the way from so cal. I didnt get the gentleman's name that took our order but he is the best. I'm actually going to warm up my left overs and enjoy this late night bbq
I don't ever write reviews typically, but I just recently stopped in at the drive-thru here and wanted to say that the gentleman working the speaker/window was one of the most respectful people I have met. I wish I have got his name, but he’s the definition of an amazing human and he should be recognized for it.
Sausage was so good. Brisket was amazing. Cream corn was the best. Mac and cheese were a little watery to my liking, but my son loved it. There are so many leftovers. Best bbq i have had in SA so far. I got the 1/2 chicken and brisket plate with 2 sides, potato salad, and creamed corn. Sausage wrap and mac and cheese for my son.
This place always amazes me. We are returning customers.Overall the food was delicious, filling, and is worth the price. Blanco BBQ is one the best BBQ resteraunts in San Antonio! I would recommend anyone who loves BBQ to try this resteraunt out. They have a playground located outside for the kids, live music, and a party room if you want to host events. Overall the food was great, staff was friendly, and we will definitely return in the future.
Great atmosphere! Food was delicious and the staff were very kind and friendly. Starts out that you get in the queue and order then you go find an open picnic table. They call your number then you enjoy. Went with 2 vegetarian people as well and they enjoyed the food as well. We got the meat plater, for the meat eaters. It came with ham, sausage, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. We opted for the mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese for our sides. It came with a few slices of white bread as well. The vegetarians ordered Mac and cheese, baked potato, fried okra, fried mushrooms, and Cole slaw. They also offer a pickle bar that has lots of different pickles and pickled vegetables to add to your orders at no extra charge. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. All the meat was seasoned well enough that they didn't need the BBQ sauce, but I still tried each one. We all even rang the bell when we left to show just how much we enjoyed the food and the service. I highly recommend this place for anyone even vegetarians. It's got a little something for everyone and we'll definitely be back!!
Brisket and other meats are great. Order at counter, when ready they call your name, pick up at counter. Prices little higher than other BBQ places, your getting a Picnic table and make yourself a drink station. There is a playground and outside dining areas.
Omg the BBQ here is amazing and the atmosphere was incredible so spacious and they had a variety of drinks plus wine! Absolutely great 👍 👌
First time here and as soon as we walked in Cody gave us the most amazing welcome and perfect recommendations. Great Customer service and Yummy experience. Will come back again!
We came here on a Monday but they still were so friendly. We had excellent service and they were very patient and helpful with our order and general disarray. The food was excellent. We commented specifically on how much we enjoyed the onions and pickles with everything. We also really enjoyed the turkey!
Everything but the gravy for the chicken strips was great! BBQ was tender and flavorful. The cream corn and potato salad ate my go to sides. Some of the best in the city. The fries are fries so they're always a hit or a miss. This day they were ok. Sweet tea was fresh and delicious. My little one enjoyed the play area outside before and after we ate. My husband was happy watching the game on the huge TV in the event room (it was open this day) I enjoyed the live music. It was semi packed but the quality of the food was great. Get them a try.
Best Brisket in town, not too spicy so you can taste the meat and not just the (inflammatory) pepper/seasonings on the Brisket. Greater food for a carnivore couple on a date night. Go meat!!!
If you are looking for great Texas bbq , Blanco is your place. This place is huge. So it's a good chance you won't have to wait outside, but I'd get there early, cause I might be wrong. They have a large selection of meats to choose from, chicken, pull pork, sausage, ribs, chopped beef ,and my favorite brisket. There are lots of delicious desserts and a big outdoor playground for the kids.
This place is a must go for any bbq lover. The food was terrific and seasoned properly. Not too salty and not bland. Way better than Rudy's. The evening I went there was almost an hour long wait but this was due to them being short staffed. The place was spacious and there is a sort of jungle gym in the back for the kiddos to play around. Their bathrooms were decent enough but the men's room needed to be looked after. I highly recommend everyone to try this place at least once. The prices are a little high but not Rudy's high. The food is definitely worth every penny you spend and more so. I ordered the house special and was barely able to finish. A LOT of food. Great portuon servings.
Fish was great. Used the kiosk. Was easy. Music was pretty entertaining and not as bad as it usually gets in places like these. All in all a good time
We held an event here and was super impressed. The catering manager Marina was super friendly and help. She made it easy to book the event and even showed me around before we booked to make sure it was going to work for us! They have an area to set up, TV to hook up to for presentations and a mic with sound system. Great layout and place to host your next event.
It has become a tired trope when people say " this is the best BBQ", in this case it is a statement of fact: everything on the menu is juicy and full of flavor, the fixings are extant and well made. This is the best barbecue place in Central Texas. (If you enjoy good cooking videos and good life, please visit cuisinequest on YouTube!)
Passing Blanco Barbecue several times over many years, we decided to stop for Father's Day around 6:00 PM. It is located on Blanco Road between Bitters and Wurzbach Parkway. We knew it would be popular, and it was. When we ordered, we were told an hour to an hour and a half wait. It turned out to be just under an hour. All but one of many tables in the large dining room was available. There were also a lot of outdoor tables, but with temps still around 100° degrees, most diners preferred air conditioning. Separated from the main dining room was a "Party Room" filled with many patrons. To accommodate a couple of hundred customers was a large parking lot with lots of shade trees. Getting down to business, Texans know good, slow-smoked barbecue. Smoked brisket was our obvious choice: one "medium" and one "large" order of lots of brisket, two sides, and limitless soft drinks and tasty condiments came to about $34 dollars for two. My wife had charro beans and creamed corn as sides; I chose good ol' cole slaw and potato salad. My cole slaw was especially good: creamy but not too creamy. Some restaurants serve slaw as an after-thought. This cole slaw lasted as long as it took to eat the entire meal. The tender brisket was not too dry and lasted a long time. Barbecue sauce was on the table but not really needed. I had three slices of soft, white bread, but there was plenty of brisket to eat with a knife, although a knife wasn't needed to enjoy it. We left Blanco Barbecue very full and very satisfied.
Boyfriend and I came for first time tonight and absolutely loved it. Customer service from Cody was phenomenal and his recommendations were very satisfactory. Food came out quick and fresh. Overall great experience! We definitely will be back!
Went here for the first time on a Saturday around 1pm. Plenty of parking and seating. This place has a big playground out back that is completely fenced in. Only way in/out is one door. We had 10 kids with us so we chose a table inside where we could see the door easily. Our food was good. Service was fast. We were there for over an hour and it never got really packed inside. The kids had a great time playing after they ate.
Everything you want from traditional Texas BBQ. From the smell of smoke when you walk in the door, to the all-wood interior, to the local spirit (literally a school trip on the outdoor patio while we were here), this was the perfect experience. Would recommend the ribs and pulled pork, along with the potato salad & mac - but you really can’t go wrong.
Ste here again, and food was great, brisket was moist and had good flavor again. Service was quick despite a full parking lot, and prices were still fair after price increases and inflation. Staff was friendly and even accomidated an order change after I had paid. Would highly recommend. ‐------------------------------------- First time eating here and everything was great. Some of the best BBQ I've had in the San Antonio area, at the best price. I would recommend this place over all the rest as far as price/quality/flavor goes. I had the brisket plate with cream corn and beans. Food came out quick, everything was fresh, the brisket was moist and had good flavor. Portion sizes are decent, at average BBQ prices. The flavor of the brisket though, was as good or better than many of the main stream places. Which makes this place a bargain. A small bar is available with self serve condiments including pickled onions, spicy pickles, BBQ sauce, peppers and more. I would definitely return to eat here again. Its affordable, quality Texas BBQ.
I really enjoyed dining here. They didn't have the best BBQ in San Antonio, but it was really good. The pork ribs are highly recommended. The creamed corn and other sides were also good. The restaurant had plenty of seating available, and the tables weren't cramped together, which was nice. There is also plenty of outdoor seating available. They had a drink station with fresh ice tea and a good selection of ice-cold beer and wine. The prices seemed a little high, but the dining experience was worth it.
This place is by far one of the best barbecue places in Texas. We have gone back a few times already. I highly recommend the pork ribs they are out of this world, very tender and the Smokey flavor is so good. I also loved their Mac and cheese. The fries are also good. The onion rings are good but not my favorite and the mashed potatoes are delicious. My husband tried the chicken fried steak and it was huge he couldn’t finish it. The chicken tenders are huge but there was too much breading in them for my likening. Their barbecue sauce is delicious and I love that they have the drink station out so you can get your own refills. For 3 people we spent $50. Well worth the price. Plus my husband also got a beer.
I had the 2 meat combo with broccoli and potato salad, and my boyfriend ordered the 5 meat combo, which rancho beans and mashed potatoes. Everything was so tasty, a great family environment, and also the live music is a plus. They have a condiment salad station and a good selection of desserts.
Found this spot looking for a BBQ joint that also accommodated vegetarians and wow! So so so glad we came here! Yes, I am from out of town but I brought a bunch of Texas natives and everyone agreed the BBQ was fantastic. We ordered so so many things : smoked turkey, brisket, sausage, Cole slaw, charro beans, fries, onion rings, really the list goes on and on. The only dish that was kind of mid was the Mac and cheese. Oh and wait until I tell you about the fixings bar!!! The spicy pickle was incredible!!!! My only regret is I didn't leave room for dessert.
My wife and I had lunch here after church with a group of around 15. We've been here multiple times and it's very consistent. Good BBQ. Not the best, but definitely good and the venue is great for families, couples, and large groups. Live music was in play and that is nice to have in the background (thank you, music guy, for not blowing us out with super-high volume). Overall, a solid experience, as have been previous visits. Recommended.
Great bbq and great atmosphere! This restaurant had been recommended to me many times, so we decided to celebrate my Dad's birthday here. It did not disappoint. Spacious seating and rustic decor. Live music on Fri-Sun! We loved the creamed corn, ribs, and brisket. I am a big fan of potato salad and I thought theirs was delicious! Prices are standard for bbq. I love the condiment bar they have - pickles, onions, bbq sauce, pickled onions, jalapenos, pickled carrots, pico de gallo - all add to the tastiness of the bbq. Plentiful parking on a Saturday evening. Texas is known for their bbq and I'd say Blanco BBQ definitely lives up to Texas standards. I'll happily return!
Great place for good BBQ. Brisket was nice and tender as well as the ribs. The chicken had tasty flavorful bite through skin. Plenty of seating, indoor and out and parking.
This place has great food, and atmosphere. A great place for the family, and there is a playground out back for the kids. I had the House Special which had brisket, sausage, and rib with cream corn and potato salad. The taste was sensational and amazing! I definitely will be visiting again. Look to spend about 20 bucks a person. Small price for good barbecue.
Cody was gregariously fabulous yet professional at taking our order and Patricia's table chat made our visit extra special. My 1st visit but my daughter's family's repeat. Food, xambience and pricing were all on target. My 11 yr old granddaughter wants you to know "The food amazing! We'll be coming back."
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Blanco BBQ was AMAZING! The barbecue was absolutely delicious & flavorful, perfectly cooked, and exactly what you hope for when you come to a great BBQ spot. The service truly made the experience even better. Huge shoutout to Patricia for checking in on us and making sure everything was perfect she was so kind and attentive. And another shoutout to Cody at the front for his warm hospitality and welcoming attitude. From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. We’ll definitely be back!
Placed an order over the phone on December 2 around 6:30 in the evening. A person named Cody answered the phone and he was awesome. He made placing an order for food fun lol. Very friendly a lot of energy on the phone with him. I ordered the five piece chicken strips with potato salad, and fries. Food was really good. After I placed my order, Cody asked me if I needed anything else a drink , dessert or anything extra meal. Great customer service. 👏👏👏.
THE BEST OF THEM ALL!!!! My cousin came to visit from Mexico City, and he was craving barbecue. What better place to visit than the most delicious spot in San Antonio for barbecue! Not only was he amazed at how good it was, but he literally could not stop eating. He ordered a little of everything, and our table looked like a buffet! The staff was amazing—shout out specifically to the cashiers; they were so friendly to us. The bussers and servers were just as great—everyone! Thanks to all of you for making our family feel at home, and for making my cousin’s visit truly special! Y’all are the best!
Thank you to Lindsey for making our dining experience 10/10! She went above and beyond and was so sweet with our daughters. She talked and played with them which made them feel comfortable and happy the entire time. It made our meal so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Lindsey is the kind of employee every restaurant hopes for! Hope to see her again soon :)
Woah I’m speechless first time trying this place I got brisket (regular & marbled) ,sausage, ribs, pulled pork , 1/2 chicken & ham with 4 different sides the potato salad , Mac and cheese , charro beans & green beans and EVERYTHING all the meats alll the sides hands down best BBQ Iv had in a long time exceeded expectations! And that bbq sauce just stop it was TOO GOOD!!! Nothing lacked in flavor I truly am impressed with this location!
Some of the best barbecue in San Antonio. Unfortunate how poor most places in San Antonio are, but glad to find a decent place. The staff are friendly, the food is good, big cups for drinks which I like. Plenty of parking which is good as there is a lot of seating for dining between the large indoor dining area, front covered patio and large back patio. Definitely plan to return and will take friends when they visit. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere/decor is nice.
Great atmosphere and fast service! Stopped in for lunch and grabbed a chef salad with BBQ chicken and sweet tea. Food was ready in less than 10 minutes during lunch rush hour. Kudos to their staff! Tables were turned over quick and very clean for the next person to eat. Salad was huge with and fresh. Always a great visit!
My brother and I had lunch at Blanco BBQ on Saturday. We hadn’t been there in a while since he moved to the Valley years ago. We really enjoyed our food and the portion sizes too. They also have a great complimentary condiments bar with jalapeños, spicy marinaded carrots, sliced onions and salsa. Great additions to your meal. He had the brisket and sausage plate and I had the pulled pork with potato salad and coleslaw. Delicious food at a fair price. The restaurant was clean, has friendly staff and fast cleanup when patrons leave. This restaurant is child friendly with a large play area with tables for guests with children to enjoy meals outside. I will definitely be back.
This is my favorite BBQ place! They have fantastic potato salad, and the meat is so flavorful. My husband absolutely loves that they have ham as well, but my favorite is the brisket. There is plenty of seating and the service is fast even when they are slammed. They have a play area out back for kids as well as a party room for events. We'll be back many times over!
Flavor: B Service: A Tea: A Solo dining: A The chopped brisket sandwich here hit the spot! It was just as good - if not better than - it looked in the pictures. I also liked the sausage and the sauce. I can’t say that the sides hit the spot in the same way. I had the Mac & cheese and the cream corn. Both were perfectly fine but nothing unique or very flavorful. I’ll be back for that brisket, though, and try some different sides.
Blanco BBQ looks like a generic Texas BBQ place, but it does serve up good meats. The brisket is properly moist and the white meats aren't dry. The sides are a gem because I'm hard pressed to think of any other BBQ establishment with such good ones. There is tons of seating but the line is constantly long all day. Kids will enjoy the outdoor play area. Get the three meat plate to really explore their offerings!
Food is delicious. Great value for the price. Basic BBQ choices. Nothing fancy but a good family oriented place
Service was very friendly, food was good. We ordered the 1/2 BBQ chicken with brisket, onion rings, and fries okra. Also the chicken fried steak with green beans and mac n cheese. The chicken fried steak was a little tough and the mac n cheese was a bit runny for our taste. Although the BBQ chicken was good. $$$
This place has only gotten better I love the music on the weekends. Have to Visit. You will return. Baked Potatoe and turkey is HUGH and fills me up.. DELICIOUS. All items are worth getting. Always difficult to make decision. Also outdoor Family area. Outside, inside or the Front Porch you'll Love it. All that and a Area for Parties. Nice Beverage set up and tempting condiment bar. ENJOY, ENJOY!!!
I really like that they have a set plate on the menu and I don't have to order everything a la carte. The brisket was good, but the turkey was a little dry. Also, the sides were very good. The employees were pretty friendly. They have a nice patio where we were able to watch the game. The only problem is it right next to the drive through and you will have to smell exhaust.
We had brisket sandwiches. The sauce is great. I liked the buns. Overall it was good but not great as in I’ll be craving it and it was the best I’ve ever eaten. The onion rings are made in-house and are good. Overall, I’m glad we visited. They had live music and have a big outdoor play area and deck for the kids.
This establishment provides decent bbq - we had the brisket, sausage, potato salad, and Mac & cheese. I wouldn’t rate any of the food as the best I’ve had but is passable as good bbq. I would imagine the atmosphere is one of the big reasons this place succeeds as there is a ton of seating (both indoor and outdoor) as well as a little playground for children and live music. They also offer a drive-thru which is extremely convenient. Would rate as a 7.7/10.
I decided to try Blanco BBQ for lunch today after living around the corner for years. Focusing on what was good: the service was exceptional. I only did the drive thru but the man taking my order was very clear on the speaker and quick with my order which I appreciate. I paid and got my food promptly as well. I also really enjoyed the sausage, the marbled brisket was so fatty and good, and I’ve never had more tender/juicy smoked turkey. I also got a half pint of green beans which were delicious and a single side of fried okra which was a great portion for $3! The order was well packaged and I had all the fixings I could want with my bbq, bread, bbq sauce, onions and pickles, and plastic cutlery. However, the only thing that was bad, and it was so bad I took away a whole star, was the Mac and cheese. Soggy macaroni and liquidy cheese sauce that couldn’t be more bland if it tried. So incredibly bad which is such a disappointment because everything else was very good! I’ll definitely return, but I’d be hard pressed to eat the Mac and cheese again.
Came here this past Friday. Everything was really good. The only thing I didn’t like too much was part of the brisket. It was good the only thing I didn’t like was the bark on it tasted really really burned. I had to remove it to enjoy the brisket which was good. But everything else was really good. The turkey was really moist. The green beans were my favorite! They also had a nice condiment bar. My daughter had a good time enjoying the live music this gentleman was playing. The atmosphere was really nice!
Great local BBQ place with a great atmosphere. There is a large outside patio and a playground for the kids. They also have a big party room. The food was excellent and tasty. They have a big selection of beer and non-alcoholic drinks. The baked potato with brisket was delicious, the brisket was little burnt ends and was flavorful and crispy. The turkey and brisket was cooked to perfection. The sides: Mac & cheese, charro beans, green beans and potato salad, were an excellent compliment to the proteins. Dessert was the banana pudding, which is a must have! Excellent meal!
Friday for lunch was pretty crowded which is usually a good sign since it shows that people in the area like the food. Line wasn't too long and ordering our lunch and sitting down was quick. We tried multiple dishes and my favorites are the turkey and the smoked chicken. Both were tasty and moist. The pulled pork is very good as well but a little sweet for me. I still recommend it. I also got lean brisket which was a bit dry if you don't put any sauce on it. I'm sure the marbled brisket is moist, but I can't say for sure since I haven't had it yet. The sausage is also on the dry side but worth trying. They also have a good selection of sides. I tried the beans and they were very tasty. Lastly, the place is big with plenty of seating and parking. We liked it enough to make it one of our regular lunch spots.
Nice spot for bbq, love music, and outdoor seating with a large playground. Favs: we like the brisket and the chicken. potato salad, and cream corn. Disliked: pulled pork was in a sauce and it was super dry. Did not like it at all.
Brisket was very good. Sides also very good. Sauce, while good, definitely overwhelmed the good flavor of the meat. The ice tea was terrible! The atmosphere is what I would describe as classic old-school Texas. Simple and rustic with a lot of character. The staff and service were outstanding! Very friendly, helpful, and professional. The huge downside was the ice tea. It was this funky dark water with no tea taste. A crime in Texas not to have legit brewed ice tea. Great place...
Quickly seated. Plenty of room. There was a good band playing classic rock. Pictured are the Cheeseburger with fries, 3 pc Chicken Tenders & Gravy with fries and mashed potatoes, Sliced Brisket Sandwich with fries, and the Sliced Brisket Plate with onion rings and potato salad. I didn't order the tenders but did give them a taste. Probably the best item on the menu. Very crispy. The chicken was very tender, no pun intended. Those tenders were also very big. The gravy was good. I had a taste of the mashed potatoes. They were just okay. I think they need brown gravy. One person ordered the lean brisket and another ordered the"marbled" brisket for her sandwich. Both briskets were pretty dry. The marbled was not soft. Was reported to be chewy and not fatty at all. The problem is that it is probably pre-cut and just sitting there waiting to be plated which results in drier slices. If they're slicing it to order, then they overcook their brisket. Had brisket 10x better recently at Rudy's. The shiny bun on the brisket sandwich and the burger are more for show. They were actually pretty stiff. Could use some warming up to make them softer. Potato salad was okay according to our potato salad expert. She's had better. I had the burger. Very disappointed. Very overcooked and actually burnt in many spots. Those weren't just charr marks. They were burn marks which resulted in a burnt meat flavor. Also, the patty was way overcooked. Not juicy at all. Funny thing was I'd mentioned going to Mr. Juicy for burgers instead of here. I was told upon ordering that the burger would take about 15 minutes to make since they are made to order but that the good news was it would be fresh. Sadly, it was not a fresh tasting burger because it was dry as a bone. The fries were pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. Most of the time I don't like wedge fries because they're never cooked enough. These were cooked just right. Overall, I would probably not return. The service is not slow and the employees were very friendly. The place was clean. I would not order the burger again or the brisket. If you like chicken tenders, you probably won't find any better anywhere else. Nobody seemed to really enjoy their food other than the person who had the tenders. I updated my earlier review after speaking to my family.
Not for the faint of heart. This BBQ place is huge and can be over stimulating if it's your first time and especially if it's packed. The food is pretty solid though, the BBQ is more peppery and savory VS sweet and vinegary. Still good though, lots of drinks and sides. There's a playground out back and plenty of parking. Apparently there's live music on the weekends.
We came here for a late lunch/early dinner on April 27th. They were not too busy, so we got our food pretty fast. The brisket tasted good, but I was expecting more seasoning and a smokey flavor. It was a bit dry too. It was nice thick slices though. The chicken fried steak was huge. Much bigger that we expected. The outdoor playground was pretty nice. The service was OK. Most of the workers were cold and impersonal.
Place looked promising because the atmosphere is great. Lots of seating, bright, cozy vibes. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed by the food. I got a plate with brisket, pulled pork, potato salad, and mac n cheese. The pork and potato salad were decent but the Mac n cheese was more watery than cheesy and the brisket was bland and dry enough I was tempted to grab a knife to make cutting it easier.
Very busy and a drive thru. No ribs allowed on a 3 meat plate the ribs was just ok on flavor little spice cooked well tho..Ham not good square shape a toss out bad.Turkey was the best no complaints good .Brisket was just ok in taste good bark flavor fall apart dry ..Sides was good ..
We ordered the brisket, sausage, fries and Mac and cheese to go with a gallon sweet tea. The brisket was average but I thought the sausage was pretty good. The sides were average also. I really liked their sweet tea. In the past I have eaten their bbq and it was so much better. I'm hoping they just missed the mark this time.
My wife and I went here on Sunday afternoon around 4:00. It was fairly crowded but not too bad. We waited in line to make our orders. Speaking of that, it's not really a restaurant in the sense that you sit down and they take your order. You have to go up to the bar and make your order off of menu on the wall. We made our order. They gave us a number. We sat down and waited about 5 minutes. And God our number and got our food. Everything was very efficient. I had a pulled pork sandwich in my wife had a chicken fried steak. The pulled pork sandwich was average. The chicken fried steak was really really big. And it didn't taste overly delicious but it wasn't bad. Prices weren't overly high. I guess that would have been higher if there would have actually been a waiter. They didn't want to tip though.
1st Time Here. I went yesterday On Father’s Day yesterday. The Lady in Charge which is The Supervisor, was The Best Supervisor Ever she provided Us the Best Customer Service Ever by being understanding with me and letting me save 10 seats while my Family arrived and all thru our Dine in she was asking us if we were all comfortable👍🏼The Food was Deliciously Amazing👍🏼👍🏼The Pico de Gallo was the best Pico I have tasted, Beans were Awesome, Baked Potato 🥔 Fresh, Big and Delicious. The BBQ was Flawless . Food was 5 stars but they only got 3 overall Stars because the inside temperature was not comfortable At All, it was to Warm Inside and also Customers had to wait 1 hour to get their order after placing their order for Dine In👎🏻 I will Come Again👍🏼
It was ok. Not the best BBQ but certainly not the worst. A little pricey. I ordered half rack of ribs and they were good. I was told by a friend to go there for the ribs especially. Good but not wow
First time here, food was good. Came out really fast but it was cold. Maybe we went too early….. we will try again at a later time in the day. Overall the taste was good. Just need to work on the temperature.
Usually hands down my favorite bbq place in San Antonio. I also eat here frequently. Unfortunately I’m always in the go so I’ll grab and run, eat when I have a chance. Today I am absolutely dissatisfied with my brisket taco, every bit is just pieces of fat trimming. Not any actual meat don’t get me wrong I do enjoy fat in the brisket but to have nothing but that is just not for me. 8 bucks for basically just a sprite today.
Took some family from out of town there on a Thursday night. Most of us ordered brisket and it was disappointing. The lean brisket was very dry and had signs of being reheated or sitting out all day. The marble brisket wasn't dry, was tender but didn't have any bark or much flavor. I know there's better places for brisket in town but we choose this place out of convenience and the atmosphere. But really I think even Bill Miller serves better brisket. The turkey, chicken fried steak and onion rings were pretty good but if you're looking for some great brisket, this is not the place.
I recommend trying this place even though I didn't love it. The reason I say this is because this is a place you truly have to try and make your own opinion. It strikes me as a place that people either truly love or truly hate. Personally, I am in middle leaning towards love. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing. It was good.... nothing to write home about but it's ok. The portions are sizeable, more than I was envisioning. I got the brisket plate, banana pudding, and strawberry shortcake. Nothing tasted amazing or would make me go out of my way. I guess coming from a different state, I expected more flavor and seasoning considering its TX BBQ. I've always heard how amazing TX BBQ is. Blanco didn't hit the way I thought it would, which was a little surprising considering the reviews. However, if I was on the road and Blanco is an option on the table I wouldn't say no either.
I would classify this as general southern BBQ. Better than anything on the east coast but rather stand in line for 3 hrs at Pinkerton's than come back here. Spent $50 on a their mixed plate with two substitions, a dessert, and drink. I left half the food on the table. (Pictured) Comparable to Bucee's. Definitely invested more in the atmosphere than the food. Has a drive thru, so there's that.
Brisket was pretty tough and dry, basically no bend to it. Mac and cheese could have a little more heft to it. Cream corn was spectacular. Service was quick and the people were wonderful and personable. Had good conversation with both employees I interacted with. Definitely lots of potential, but meat could be better for sure. Investing in a cooking method that keeps moisture would be worthwhile. Will keep supporting since it's a cute, local spot, but definitely would like to see an increase in meat quality. AC was weak but I'm sure that's temporary, won't mark off a star for that.
I've eaten at some Meccas of BBQ & this ain't it. Brisket dry, mushy since I ordered moist, chicken was ok, potato salad tasted like mustard & nothing else, charro beans were salty & I make charro beans and those are not charro beans. Very unfriendly, moody & robotic cashier. Signs everywhere telling what yo do & how to act. Place is too dark for the daytime. This place aint it. I'm sorry I came here 5vyears ago & I dont remember it this uninspired & bland. Expensive too for the quality you're getting.
Do you love flies? Everywhere… while the food is decent over the last 4 years I’ve tried to eat here the amount of flies is intolerable. It can’t be that hard to resolve yet it’s completely off putting. Ideas: fans, moving your trash, etc so gross.
We ordered 1 1/2 Lbs of lean brisket. The picture shows the amount of 100% fat I ended up cutting and throwing away, close to 1/2 Lb. I don’t mind being charged more for lean brisket, I get it, but this isn’t fair. Do better Blanco BBQ!
Worst BBQ restaurant .I place a catering order I bought 2 gallons of tea. They wanted to charge extra for the cups and the ice .The staff was very unprofessional especially the Hispanic cashier lady . I will never go back to this restaurant customer service was horrible Shame on the owner for taking advantage of his paying customer. Both females had no customer service skills. They has no business being in customer service. The manager older white lady had no controll over her employees. They need to hire another manager that knows what she is doing instead of being lost .The American people are suffering and the economy is at it worst and the owner is charging his customer for ice and cups . What a horrible owner. This have a history of being rude to some there customer.
I ordered through their website which referred me to doordash for delivery for the first time. Ordered mushrooms, onion rings, and Greek salad. 51 plus dollars for order total. My Greek salad was a side salad! I called the restaurant and they told me to make a complaint through doordash. It wasn't a doordash's fault it was the restaurants fault that my order was wrong. They did offer to make it for me to pick up, which of course I can't why that's why I ordered doordash. Last time for me they can't get a simple salad right
I order the chicken strips from this place religiously because of how big juicy and flavorful they are but Idk what happened this time . I just paid $20 via uber eats for the TINIEST, blandest, most poorly cooked chicken tenders ive EVER received from this restaurant and possibly from any restaurant for that matter.I Couldve gotten better quality from bush’s and i hate bushes. I looked forward to this meal literally all day and it was a complete waste of money. Soo disappointed
