Carlos was amazing! As the bartender he was very attentive since we were seated at the other side of restaurant also. We always go for special occasions and Carlos made sure to make it a great night! Thank you!
Wok n Fire in Burr Ridge, Illinois, proved to be an ideal spot for a Friday evening, offering a seamless experience from start to finish. Despite the absence of drinks in their happy hour specials, the regular drinks menu did not disappoint. The blue martini and old fashioned were both expertly crafted and added a touch of sophistication to the evening. When it came to appetizers, the selection was diverse and flavorful. The pan-seared dumplings were a standout, prompting us to order another round, while the chicken lettuce wraps and spicy tuna roll provided a satisfying variety of tastes and textures. The addition of yakitori beef added another layer of indulgence to our meal. The service was exceptional, with our waitress exhibiting warmth and attentiveness throughout the evening. It was heartening to see her training a new team member, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to maintaining high standards of service. Overall, Wok n Fire delivered an enjoyable dining experience, making it a noteworthy destination for those seeking quick bites and quality drinks in Burr Ridge.
Fantastic Happy Hour! Great place, wonderful food, awesome staff. Ask for Carl! He’s great! We tried the Vegas roll, which is good, it’s got a little kick because of the jalapeño. You can’t go wrong with the Saint Charles roll! Favorite roll of the night was the Cristy Crunchy roll. It is a very good combination. 10 out of 10 on chicken fried rice. My 15-year-old said it’s some of the best fried rice he’s ever had.
Tried the St Charles Roll and it was absolutely delicious! The service is amazing and the restaurant ambiance is great. Good music, great bar seating.
The food was absolutely delicious! The drinks were just as great. I drank the best key lime martini I've ever had thanks to Carl!
Delicious sushi rolls. We are big fans of sushi and had heard it was good here. Turns out it is great. Loved the outdoor patio. Nice breeze in the shade on a hot day, enhanced by a cold Sapporo beer. What more can you ask for?
I had such a good experience at this place. We sat at the bar and David was awesome and took care of us. The yum yum and crazy rolls were some of the best I have had. Had such a good experience the first night that we went back again. Talk to Mike or Kevin about the Sake... Good people.
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Large menu that doesn't compromise quality. Recommend all rolls and the wok tossed dishes are on point.
Awesome service and delicious food! Gorgeous atmosphere! Drinks were so good! Thank you!
This place is so cool and relaxed. They have the absolute BEST Crab ragoon I have ever tasted. My fiance even liked it and he normally doesnt. The waitress was so nice to us !! Great place!! The bathroom was spectacular!!
Excellent food and customer service!! The food was hot and fresh, which is a requirement for me. Nic e sized portions as well. Would definitely like to go back!
We loved the food & the decorations! Great friendly attentive service! Very 😋 yummy, & Not greasy or too salty which is a plus! Kung Pao, Edamame, & Pad Thai were excellent!
This place is amazing! The food is great! Most of all Carlos is the best please ask for him if you eat here. The drinks were very good.
Had a girl’s dinner there last Fri. Both our food as well as our server Carlos were outstanding!!
Very cool bar area. Love the overall vibe. Staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Started with the Crab Rangoon (Crazy Good). Las Vegas Roll, Thai Iced Tea, and chicken fried rice. Can’t wait to come back on my next visit.
Carlos was awesome super friendly and was a great server, food was amazing, and great vibe in the restaurant.
We had a great experience at Wok N Fire! We ordered three different sushi rolls, and somehow each one was better than the last—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What really made our visit stand out, though, was our server, Carlos. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. His service added a personal touch that made the night even more enjoyable. Definitely coming back soon!
Popped in here for a couple of cocktails and some appetizers. Loved the lettuce wraps, crab and scallop dip was ok. Highlight was the cocktails - loved the Key Lime Martini and Carlos the bartender made me a great smoked Old Fashioned! Kirstin took great care of us too. Outstanding service!
Carlos was amazing!! Best drinks I’ve ever had and service!
Carlos was great today. Very engaged and helpful. Food was delicious. Ahi Tuna salad is always a boom!
Wok n Fire absolutely blew me away! The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Every roll was perfection — you can really taste the quality in every bite. The atmosphere was great, and the service made the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you’re a sushi lover, this place is a must. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
The atmosphere as great and the food was excellent. We enjoyed martinis and Mai Thais. Carlos was our server and bartender and he was great!
Carlos was the best bartender and server and very intentive person that we ever had in years
Carlos took care of us and it couldn’t have been better service. Personable, kind, and exceptional service! Food was amazing! Please try the black widow and he also makes an amazing Paloma! Highly recommend!!
Great experience at Wok n Fire. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. Everything was well prepared and tasted great. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was clean and comfortable. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and recommend to others.
This place is such a wonderful dining spot for a girls’ night out! From the moment we walked in, our waitress greeted us with such genuine delight. She was warm, friendly, and set such a positive tone for the evening. Then came Carlos, who completely elevated our experience. He was attentive, understanding, and incredibly talented. I can be pretty particular with food, and when I told him exactly how I like my salmon, he went above and beyond. The result was even better than I expected! The flavors were perfect, the presentation was beautiful, and his service was outstanding from start to finish. Between the amazing food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the exceptional service from both our waitress and Carlos, we felt so comfortable and well taken care of. This spot is definitely a must-visit if you want great food and even greater service!
Love this spot. Food was amazing (as always) and the service this past time was exceptional. If you are lucky enough to get Carlos as your server or bartender you are in for a treat. If you do order the smoked old fashion. He crushes it!
Coconut shrimp? Girl. Quality rolls? Absolutely. The fish was good quality and fresh. Our server was Carlos and he took great care of us. He’s also a bartender so go see him! We will definitely be back.
Carlos is a great servicer. He was attentive and gave great recommendations of food choices. The inky sushi roll is delicious.
The food is excellent! They have some of the best Crab Rangoon and Spring Rolls I have ever tasted! The steak stir fry was amazing! My only reason for not giving this restaurant five stars is because we waited 15 minutes before a server acknowledged us at the table. I would have understood this if the restaurant had been crowded. That was not the case. There were only five tables in our section that required service. The restaurant was not busy during the time we were there. I went to the front desk and asked if we could get a server. When we finally were acknowledged, the server stated, "I didn't see you because you were out of my line of sight." Hmmm 🤔
The ambiance is modern. They have changing lights through the facility giving it a different feel every time the color of the light changes. They have a vast selection of spirits, while there I enjoyed a traditional margarita something I was quite delighted with. They also offer a pretty good size menu! I tried a couple of items including some polular rolls. The only problem I had was that the salmon was served at room temperature. I usually enjoy it cold. The server was also friendly and helpful he sure did make good recommendations. I will definitely try them again, as the facility is clean the ambiance lively and I always enjoy a busy place as it is a sign they are doing something right. I do recommend them. I will return!
Appetizers were really good outside of the wings being larger for my liking ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The main course was good but the fried rice had no flavor whatsoever ⭐⭐⭐ Drinks were good no complaints ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ambiance, decor, service, and bathroom smell are 5 stars! I had to knock it down to 4 stars based on the food. Succinctly I’ll say this is Asian food for non-Asians. My pad thai was 3/5 stars, my wife loves pho, but thought it was 1/5 stars. I will say our sushi rolls and fried rice were delicious.
Food was very good. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but it was good. Very unique sushi recipes. The crab cakes are not like typical crab cakes, they were more like sushi. But they were still good. The homemade ginger ale is amazing, definitely try it. The bar has a very upscale, contemporary vibe to it. Service was good and they were very friendly. We ordered the $95 sushi platter and it was a ton of food for 2 people.
We always love going to Wok and Fire. We hadn't been in a long time, so this was nice to come back and see some modern menu changes. I got the curry noodle bowl which was really tasty and full of chicken, veggies, noodles, with a great flavor balance. Not too spicy since I asked them to make it more mild. My dad got the schezwan with tofu and chicken, which was tasty. My mom got their crunchy sushi roll, which is great for folks who don't love raw sushi and want to try something different. My boyfriend got their ramen with pork chasu, which got better as it sat, so some yummy leftovers! We also had their cocktail mules which were good but not great, and it took WAY too long to make them on a slow night (20ish minutes). Overall, recommend but not if you're in a rush.
Cool place. Good food and excellent server. The house wine and cocktails we got were just okay, but others really liked theirs.
We decided to go to Wok n Fire in Burr Ridge after seeing they had a happy hour menu on their website that included drink and food specials, but when we arrived we were told that the drinks specials were not for their location…(they should probably correct their website then). We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and the lettuce came out brown and wilted, and to the staffs credit they replaced the lettuce when we raised the issue. The chicken lettuce wraps were fine but would not order them again. The chicken fried rice was on food happy hour special and also very average and would not order it again. In terms of cocktails, I did like the Ginger Pear Bliss and would recommend ordering it. It’s not too sweet and not too boozy-balanced and refreshing. The location in Burr Ridge is conveniently located, but the bathrooms were not clean and overall would not recommend it. There are better dining options in the surrounding area.
I liked the Atmosphere. The price is a tad bit out of my range. Party of 9 w/o cocktails $600+ tips. ($70)At the end of our meal. I tried to get out server his attention because he forgot to give me bag to carry my toGo container. He just ignored me. I saw an elder man and asked him instead and he was very nice. I then saw the server by the exit and told him. ( In my thought we gave you a huge tip. (In cash!) I told my group that they taxes them if we put it in the card. & were not demanding bunch. He can’t even say thank you after receiving.
Our server was great and recommend me a delicious Sake! (despite it not appearing on the menu and costing a little more than I had anticipated). The atmosphere was a vibe as well, however the food, which really is the important part, was uninspired to say the least. The szechuan chicken str fry was bland, watery and very veggie heavy, the fried rice lacked flavor, and the crab rangoon was without a doubt the most lousy appetizer I've had from any restaurant in recent memory. The wonton was either burnt or offputtingly crunchy, possibly both, and the usually delicious cream cheese and immitation crab-chunks filling was so minimal, so small in quantity and flavor that you could barely taste it between the shattering bites of wonton shell. The sushi was fine.
The food is actually good but the customer service is terrible. I’ve been here three times, same server and he has something against black people. He’s not a nice person at all. Very dry, uninviting and flat out rude. I see how he treats other people and how he treats black people. A distinct difference. I won’t be back and will be telling every person of color i know the same.
Boring Americanized food masquerading as Asian. An ordinary cookie cutter chain restaurant with uninspired dishes. My stir fry was under cooked to say the least.Spring rolls barely recognizable as Asian. Service good.Pricing average.Decor comfortable with indoor outdoor seating.Parking plentiful. AWARDED 1 STAR ON A SCALE OF 3 Re Reply: Thanks for the Panda recommendation, will try….
When arriving upon this restaurant I was highly impressed with the seating and the decorations in this restaurant. The detail is immaculate in terms of the way this restaurant is decorated. But the food was unfortunately disappointing. It seemed as if the chef who made this was adding random sauces and spices and then it’s branded as Asian food. This isn’t authentic Asian food and I just felt the food didn’t seem to be with the right seasonings.
My first time ordering Thai chicken from wok n fire in Burr ridge il. The chicken was under cooked. You can see light red I’m the chicken. When I called and asked to speak with a manager the person I spoke with Natalia was no help at all said she will call me back and never did. I called a second time and was told the general manager Mark would call me and he has not. My complaint was not resist all no type of customer service. No option given to me for a meal comp or anything no refund back or nothing. I do not recommend this place at all. The management is horrible!! I regret coming here! The owner replies on Google with his email address just to ignore me & not respond. ITS BEEN 2 DAYS STILL NO RESOLUTION, THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS PREJUDICE!
1/29 Response to manager - since you reviewed the video, go back and listen to the audio. Orders were placed at the same time. So if your POS system shows multiple orders being put in, that just proves the incompetence of your staff. The video will show the server walking around the table taking all orders at the same time. Perhaps a second video review will reveal how he lost several orders creating this whole mess you call a dining experience. It’s a very bad look to respond to a customer and lie in the response just to save face. Review: We were seated in a large group on Friday, Jan 26 and upon ordering were told they do not separate bills. After speaking to the manager and offering to separate into individual tables so bills could be separated he said to just place our orders and they would figure out the bills and take individual cards. The group orders at about 8:56pm. Around 9:30 food starts coming out. Around 10pm 4 of us did not receive food. We cancel the sushi rolls, and inquire about the rest and realize they lost our order without realizing it. Finally, one of us receives food 10 minutes later. When we inquire about the last two meals - a soup and a salad we are told the kitchen is working on it. Not true - we see the manager promptly go to the POS system and enter the order. The servers were sweet but seemed grumpy like they have to put up with this a lot. When we asked about the other food and stated they had all been ordered at the same time - over an hour ago, her response was, “let me go get my manager so you can yell at him.” At nearly 10:30 the final two receive our entrees - a salad and a soup. No apologies no nada, in fact at that point several people start posting their bill because the whole experience is so long and drawn out. The credit card machine was also on the fritz so cards were swiped multiple times and one member of our party has 7 pending charges for the same meal. The restaurant was practically empty so I don’t understand a 1hr 20min wait to get food. Simply unacceptable. The table seated after us started getting food before our entire party was served. Curry bowl - I think we were so hungry we agreed it was just ok meaning it probably wasn’t great but hunger pains set in. The spicy tuna appetizer was good but served on wontons and came in an order of 6. Chicken fried rice was dry and bland. Everyone who ordered it added an ample amount of soy sauce. The Thai beef salad was over the top sour and loaded with fish sauce. Not at all balanced and again, the steak seemed sketchy, I think I got the kitchen sink. Poor service, average food and a grumpy manager. Lots of other options in this shopping center. You’re best off passing this one by as they are unwelcoming, unapologetic and food is average at best. Also, read the GM responses to negative reviews - perfect display of the customer service you can expect to receive. This knock off of PF Changs falls short of all expectations.
Ordered takeout for a total of $81?!! The lar nar is crunchy I almost broke my tooth. It used to be soft noodles. Didn’t give me soy sauce for my sushi. The lar nar was cold. Honestly a waste of money coming here.
Went to Wok N Fire Burr Ridge for the very first time since the pandemic with my girlfriends whom I haven't seen in 2 years. We were all very excited. But unfortunately...it was a super busy night and maybe understaffed....so we didn't get to eat anything. We were there from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and we only had a chance to order our dirty martinis and Las Vegas roll with pan seared dumplings. That's all I get to eat. 2 pieces of Las Vegas roll and 1 dumpling. I was starving so after 2 hours and still no sign of our waiter....again....I understand the short staffed issue but I will not go back again and would not recommend. With 6 dirty martinis and 1 roll of Las Vegas and 1 order of dumplings...it was $125.....and we had to go somewhere else for dinner......it was not the best experience and not friendly on our wallet. Very disappointed. 😞 Update: Owner asked me to email them which I did and never heard back from them. Therefore, I took another star off so now it is only worth 1 star. I tell everyone this story and we all get a good laugh out of this experience. Oh well. Good bye Wok n Fire forever 👋
I placed an order other the phone and was told that the food will be ready for pick up in 35 min, i have guests waiting for me home over an hour and 15 min and food still not ready. Terrible service! 👎👎👎 they screwed up my night! Don’t recommend to anyone using this restaurant 😡😡😡
Been a minute since we last dined here. Tonight’s experience will keep us from returning. Lipstick on our class wear, Horrible service that took an extremely long amount of time, food all tasted fried, Even the Chilean Seabass, forgot birthday requests, won’t be back.
Slow service when the restaurant was quiet. Server would ask for drink orders, take one, then leave. It took a few rounds of her coming back to complete everyone’s drink order. My entree was too salty and didn’t taste great. Our appetizers weren’t tasty either. Lots of fruit flies once our food came out to the table.
Ordered a gluten free entree that was sent out breaded. Server was perplexed that it still was gluten free and took it back to the kitchen to ask. Upon returning to confirm my order was remade and came out in about five minutes undercooked and cold. Beyond bewildered and disappointed, I left without eating.
