Motel, Hotel, Holidays Inn! Oh Holiday have stepped their hospitality way up! Nice clean spacious room, dope deco, and a rare sighting; a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker?! Holiday Inn, this one anyway, is Spot on. Cindy the receptionist was very cordial, polite and patient.

Very nice people at the desk, but no follow through when you had a complaint. Like having ants in the bathroom. The shower was really nice. The bed was real comfortable. The layout was really usable. Laundry room was really good.

Best Part of this hotel is the Restaurant! Andy is truly a great Manager just opening these guys have it together. Wings are the absolutely best!!!!

Excellent rooms and suites. The staff were amazing and very helpful. Everything was kept in great condition and very clean. No complaints, just wish the pool would be reopened and that the restaurant/bar was operating.

Rooms are older but clean and beds are comfy. The hotel staff made it a 5 star visit. LAX was so welcoming and nice to talk with. He really loves his job. I’d stay here again

Great place for kids. Be careful in the winter. There is no way to get from the pool to your room without a cold gust of wind. The elevator is only a few feet away from a sliding glass door. Wet hair and sub zero wind are a rough combination. They need to lock that door closed in the winter.

I've been an IHG platinum member for a number of years. Have a personal and business card with IHG. I stay a a lot of IHG hotels too. Let me tell you that this might be one of the best hotel stays I've ever had. Not because the pool was working or the gym was nice. Honestly it wasn't because the room was anything special. Because of Jose, the young man that work the front desk. He was incredible and helpful in everyway, from arrival till departure. Shoutout to him and the manager, I left my ipad in the room and checked out sunday, my ipad was boxed up and shipped by Tuesday and I got it back Thursday. I am really appreciative of all of them.

Great hotel. I stayed for 2 nights. Clean rooms, close to everything. Very quiet place to sleep. Truck drivers friendly and there is a nice big parking lot.

I have had one of the best times since I’ve been traveling these roads at this hotel the receptionist Calvin was a five star all the way management you need to give him a raise his excellent with people I never came across a genuine person like him in a long time. I’m sitting here observing him before my ride come. He gives everyone The highest respect and you could tell that it’s genuine holiday and you got a winner. (Calvin) 🙏🏾🤗💜

This was my second time staying at the Holiday Inn Countryside, and once again, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and taken care of—just like they did the first time. Their friendliness and attention to detail really stood out. The room was clean, spacious, and super comfortable. The bed was cozy, the bathroom was spotless, and everything I needed was right there. It’s clear that the hotel is well-maintained and managed with care. What I appreciate most is the consistency. Both of my visits have been smooth, relaxing, and enjoyable—which is why I’ll definitely be coming back again. If you’re looking for a comfortable, quiet, and reliable place to stay, I highly recommend Holiday Inn Countryside!

My experience at this hotel was great. Front desk staff was so attentive and accommodating,my room was very clean, close to Midway Airport, restaurants, gas stations and Walmart. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at when visiting IL. GREAT STAY,KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

My experience. Was absolutely amazing. The best front desk team Christina , Kaylyn and Victoria were absolutely phenomenal. I had a tech issue Maintenance Bernard had a very quick response even though it was a 800 tech issue. My room was spacious and super clean. Listened a interaction about the swimming being down for maintenance issue at the front desk. However, the team dealt with it very professional. 10/10

I had an amazing stay at Holiday Inn! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. What truly made my experience exceptional was Calvin at the front desk—he was incredibly welcoming, professional, and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. His friendly attitude and helpfulness really stood out and made me feel right at home. I highly recommend this Holiday Inn and will definitely be coming back!

Stayed over the weekend and I want to say that Calvin is so welcoming and very informative! He mentioned their restaurant being open and I checked it out on Friday night and met Andy and he is also one of the nicest people I have ever met, I hope their restaurant becomes successful. I recommend the wings as they are phenomenal!!!

Check-in was flawless. The room was clean, had a small fridge and a microwave. The bathroom was small but clean. Beds were comfortable. I thought the price was steep for a Super 8 motel. $146 total for one night. Whew! The pool was murky. Couldn't see the bottom. Didn't get in there. Breakfast was the bare minimum. Coffee, tea, juice, waffles, 3 cereals, bread for toast, apples, and mini muffins. No eggs or bacon or sausage. No yogurt. Just continental style. There are several restaurants a Meijer and an Aldi nearby. I am thankful that my dear cousin Byron treated us to the room. Love you very much cousin.

The bed was comfortable and linens were clean and soft. Bathroom had a nice, walk-in shower. Overall, though, the place seems to have seen better days. Carpeting was dingy. The Charhouse advertised on their site is closed. So is their touted "Olympic sized pool." I expected more from Holiday Inn.

We stayed here for a travel basketball game in June and rented 4 rooms. The hotel was centrally located with many restaurants around + Target + Starbucks + Gas Stations, about 20 minutes from Wintrust Sport Complex. The rooms were clean and as described. Unfortunately, the pool was under construction and this was not conveyed before our arrival. Had we known, we would have booked somewhere else. The front desk did give us an option for passes for another hotel to use the pool, but charged us $50 for them. The hotel was described as nearby and walkable, but it definitely was not. When we made the drive over there with the team, we were told that the pool was also closed. What a headache, we gave up on the pool, the boys were disappointed.

Stayed here just one overnight. Got in late due to travel issues. The front desk girl was a little unpleasant- I get it, it was late. But I was also tired and still managed to smile and say hello. The room was very clean and bathroom nice. The "grab and go" breakfast was gone by the time I got downstairs but I did manage to get some coffee. I had to sit in the lobby for a while that morning and the front desk girl was very nice and professional. Overall, not a bad place for a quick trip.

Calvin at the desk was so nice and a great guy. Rooms are nice. The pool is closed until spring 2026!

Executive suite, room was pretty and clean, bathroom set up although beautiful, not very practical. The shower was set in a huge deep jacuzzi tub with no barrier (curtain or glass partition) to keeping the water inside the tub. Getting in and out at our age was dangerous due to how deep it was. We were there 3 nights and housekeep didn’t come any of those days except when we called for towels which were piled and soaked from mopping up the water caused by the shower. On our last day we had to call for more towels again, toilet paper and tissues as we were out of both. They delivered the towels and toilet paper but not the tissues. Front desk agents were pleasant and friendly. The breakfast is very minimal, some yogurts, prepackaged muffins. The restaurant on site is permanently closed. We used DoorDash which worked well. They need to update their website to indicate no restaurant.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Courtside and had a decent experience. The location was convenient and the rooms were clean, which we appreciated. We did have to request extra towels and coffee, but staff was helpful. The biggest disappointment was the pool—one of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because the website and photos showed an indoor pool. Unfortunately, it’s permanently closed, which felt like false advertising. The hotel should clearly state this on their website to avoid misleading guests.

K
Karen Jenson

The front desk was very friendly and willing to help. However, the hotel was in desperate need of repair. Three of the four elevator cars were out of order. Sometimes, that left long waits for the elevator. At one point a worker was using a can of insect spray in the lobby, spraying around the doors and grout in the tile flooring. There were 6 USB charging ports of which 2 worked. The on-site restaurant was not open. Facelift definitely needed

R
Rachael Hutchison

The hotel itself is honestly pretty nice, it appears to be re modelled and it’s modern and the rooms are nice. However there’s an awful smell in the lobby and hallways, like a carpet that got wet and never dried properly, musty and gross. Our sheets appeared to be dirty and potentially not changed from the prior guest which feels like the bare minimum in terms of room cleaning. The staff was nice and helpful, the location was safe. I think you could get something nicer for the price that they charge.

M
Morrissa Robinson (Moe Blue)

Staff was GREAT!!! Especially Lax...he was awesome, very polite and accommodating! The room itself was ok, I wish the sitting chair was more of a lounger, the shower head was weirdly placed (had to step all the way in to turn on shower, meaning get drenched in cold water). One of the elevators was out of order, breakfast was a grab and go bag unfortunately. Truckers, if you're parking your rig here...make sure you get the parking pass, IT IS A REQUIREMENT IN COUNTRYSIDE (not a hotel requirement)

M
Matthew Deffinger

Arrived to location to check in paid first room and was told that the pool wasn’t open due to construction wasn’t told this until I checked out for the first room. A whole purpose of staying here was to use the pole in hot tub. It was disappointing. Also was very disappointing that they did not have breakfast. Also, toilet would not flush. Other than that, the room was decent.

F
Felicia Hankins

Cindy at the front desk was very courteous and helpful. However, I am highly dissatisfied with this hotel's decision to NOT issue a refund or compensation for the restaurant and bar being closed. This disclosure SHOULD be posted on the Expedia site, but instead it is being advertised as an amenity that clearly has not been operational for a while. This is unacceptable and it is a deceptive tactic. During my stay, I overheard several customers asking the front desk about the restaurant and they were also told that it was closed. The pool is not working as well. I arrived at the hotel after a 3.5 hour drive and I had not eaten. I had planned to order from the restaurant when I arrived. I was informed that it was closed indefinitely after I had checked in. The front desk encouraged me to contact Expedia and request a refund, but that was a total waste of my time. Do better.

T

Wasn't terrible experience. Kind of annoying that we had to have our key card reactivated every time we wanted back in our room because of of some tech problem they were having. The rooms were clean and comfortable other than the carpet needing to be cleaned or replaced.

F
Fay T. J.

The room has newly renovated furniture and bathroom. But the lighting is very low making the room feel very dark and gloomy. Once you walk in you're hit w a smell kind of like cologne. But it never went away. The longer I sat in the room my nose and throat became stuffy I killed 2 ants, they were crawling on the desk where my food was sitting and gnats were flying around. The gym and the pool is closed. The deposit is $100 even tho I'm a member of holiday inn. All in all a very uncomfortable stay and I still need to actually go to sleep. I wouldn't stay here again.

Room is clean. Fridge, microwave, and Keurig in our room. Outlets with USB all over, 2 electrical and 2 USB on both sides of the bed. Bathroom is clean. Toilet paper sucks, but that's most hotels. Plenty of towels. Our room AC works well. My husband cleaned the filter because it was absolutely covered in dust, likely hasn't been cleaned in months. There's a flexible book light on both sides of the bed. Luckily, there are a lot of options for food around, and delivery services - I prefer GrubHub, but I've seen restaurants with signs for DoorDash. I've seen other reviews, now that I checked Google reviews, about people in the hallways late at night being loud. That's every hotel. I had that at a Hilton. People suck and don't always care about those around them. Complaints about hotel. False advertising and fraud. The breakfast in the lobby isn't monitored for guests who paid or not, and also isn't worth the extra money I paid to have breakfast everyday. Charging for a service that isn't available is fraud. Nothing like the pictures on their page. Cold bagels with no toaster, prepackaged muffins and danishes, tiny cups of OJ and apple juice, yogurt, and fruit is only oranges or apples. Hotel info page says there's satellite TV. Our room gets about 20 channels, multiple are local which typically aren't available on satellite, and some channels dont have audio. Also claims pay-per-view, nope. The hotel restaurant has been closed for many years apparently. The pool has also been closed for years. No room service, but no restaurant to get room service. There's mold and a water leak on one of the hallway windows. The ceiling there is crumbling away. I talked to the front desk staff about this and they said many guests are complaining and cancelling. I was told by the manager today that when we checked in, the person was supposed to tell us that there is "no pool, no restaurant, no hot breakfast - do you want to cancel?" If I was told this, I would have cancelled. I chose this hotel for the pool, restaurant, and hot breakfast. Now trying to deal with Booking.com to deal with this fiasco.

Decent place to spend the night and that's it. The pool is down and looks like it was been for a couple of month judging by the extremely faded paper. Breakfast is for everyone and does not reflect the website "made to order breakfast". Not a bad place to spend the night, but also misleads with what they offer.

Stayed 2 nights FRI-SUN. Rooms were super clean and bathrooms were very nice that’s about where it ends. Pool/Resturant are closed and looks like they have been. Could of had that displayed on website. KEY CARDS !! I understand they are fragile but in 2 nights i had to get 4 new cards cause we were getting locked out. We were going to a concert so i asked Saturday night for a late stay till 2 and would have paid but front desk person told me he would put me down. And was no charge. Next morning im being harassed at 11am to leave. People don’t do their job well here

room was stinky and carpet was old and stained. stayed two nights and had to ask for new towels as the room was not serviced during the day. the pool and workout room were both closed for renovations. no paper/plastic plates available for reheating food in the microwave. not a very good experience, not a good value

Bummer! We stayed here four years ago with our two boys and LOVED the pool. We had another trip planned to Chicago and although the location is a bit further We chose to return here for two nights for the giant indoor pool. We booked using 3rd party reward points and there was no notice that the pool was closed. We checked the IHG.com website and there was NO notice the pool was closed. The website has pictures of the pool and it's listed as an amenity. We arrive and check in to see that the pool has been closed FOR OVER A YEAR! After some back and forth with the front desk agent this is ONLY listed on their app - not the website. Such a bait and switch. They have no agreement with any other IHG properties to allow their people to use a pool and no resolution was offered rather than check with the manager when they are in duty but the FD agent didn't know when they would be on duty next. We gave the FD agent our contact info and asked to be contacted - I'll update the review if anything is resolved. The rooms are a little dated but clean. Parking is fine. But without the pool and with the false advertising there are certainly dozens of comparable properties to spend your money at no need to come here.

I booked this Holiday Inn for a business trip because it was only 15 minutes from where I needed to be. Normally, I don’t stay at Holiday Inns, but I decided to give this location a try. Unfortunately, I regret that decision. First, the hotel itself is not what the reviews make it out to be. The property is very outdated, and my room was far from clean. There were spider webs in multiple places, and the bathroom was not maintained to an acceptable standard. That alone was disappointing, but things only got worse. On Wednesday night, after returning from a meeting, I parked my car in the lot. A man was nearby cleaning his wheels. I went inside to drop off my belongings and realized I had left my water bottle in the car. When I returned, that same man had intentionally sprayed some type of chemical all over my vehicle. I contacted the police, filed a report, and when questioned, the man didn’t even deny it—he simply told the officers, “If you didn’t see me do it, you can’t hold me.” Shockingly, he walked away with no consequences. I reported this to hotel management, and instead of supporting me as a guest, they told me the individual lives at the property and is a “good friend.” They even admitted he has a history of doing things like this, but they would not take any responsibility. They also informed me there are no cameras in the parking lot, which makes the situation even worse. This was not only unprofessional but also unsafe. A guest’s vehicle should never be at risk like this, and for management to dismiss the issue is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Stay far away from this location.

STAY AWAY! Dont book your event here. You might think the 4 meetings before the day and you’ve checked all your boxes with them. Guess again! They probably throw that paper away and wing it day of. The signs they made for the door way had their names spelled wrong. Twice! Corrected them and then printed a new one and then that was misspelled. 🤦🏽‍♂️ look at the event paper to see their names. Like what? The manager had the audacity to sit while we had to move rooms because the air wasn’t working in any of the conference rooms. We had coolers, food, so many things to move from 7th floor to 1st floor. Mess. Sweating and miserable. We had to get our hair and make up done that we spent $$$$ on so we sweat as we got our make up done. And then had it running down our face at the same time. No fans brought in from them. They didn’t care. Cutlery wasn’t put out on some tables. No knives to cut steak. They said to use the butter knife. 😂 they wish their steaks were that tender. They also didn’t bring out the sorbet that was paid for. They had one Bartendar for a 200 person wedding. It was horrendous. We got there on Thursday asked them to work on air, got there Friday air still wasn’t pumping. Wake up on Saturday to the same. We sweat all day and the poor bride. On wedding day, I woke up with my face covered with horrendous redness. I don’t have sensitive skin at all. I have never had a reaction like this. Was it the pillows? The sheets? Heat? BUGS?! I don’t know. Had my friend bring me new sheets and pillow cases and bed bug cover sheet so I could stay for the night after the wedding. It obviously was something from the hotel as this as never happened to my skin, EVER! I am appalled at this hotel and banquets facility. There are better ones out there for the same price. I also brought up my skin and the million things that went wrong at checkout and I swear on my life I was just direct and forward and she didn’t like that. She called the police on me and said I was being aggressive and wanted to attack her. I had witnesses when the cops came and they went back and watched the tape, the cops apologized to me and she came back out with a cheery attitude and checked me out. Like what was the point of all that? Like, she didn’t think the police was gonna ask to see the video?! I don’t care about the credit anymore which this is the reason I was treated horribly when I checked out. Before I went down to the front desk, because I knew she wouldn’t know how to handle it because every one there was incompetent, I called Holiday Inn customer service and they told me a credit would be on my account when I checkout after they heard my skin issue and the whole entire stay issues and as a member they apologized but when I went down, it wasn’t on my account. So i stepped to the side and called them. I pulled to the side so she could do her job, RESPECTFULLY, and she had the audacity to call the cops on me while I was talking to the nice guy on customer service line. She didn’t like me saying all the disgusting and horrible things that were happening to me and how I was being treated currently. First off how she greeted me “OK” Ok what? Like “how can help you doesn’t exist anymore? And said “WHY DIDNT YOU COME ON SATURDAY TO COMPLAIN WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO NOW?” I was telling her that so many things the Hotel screwed up on my bff wedding came precedent to that. The moving of floors, the moving of everything we had to do because of the hot rooms etc.. I took a picture (attached below with a time and location) and then went back to being the man of honor and fixed their mess.I can’t believe the experience I had as a loyal member. I am still in awe. Stay far far away. Oh and the key cards! If you put it in your purse it will deactivate because it’ll prolly be by your phone. You also can’t keep them by credit cards. It’ll deactivate them. Prolly 5 times a day I had to get a new key. it’s 2025 get it together. $159 a night it was not worth it. We got the couple rate and online I saw $99 a night. They will find anyway to screw you.

It’s been over a year and the pool is still closed for renovation. I think that’s the main reason anyone even books a room here. Even when the pool was open it was dirty and the hallway to the locker room was flooded

The lady that checked me in was rude, but I decided not to create a scene. I had my reservations in regards to deposit she requested for. She requested for $100 and I was hesitant because if my experience with hotels in the past. She then reduced by saying I can't go below $50 with an attitude like I was broke and couldn't afford the deposit. Why try to charge me a high deposit from the onset. Basically discriminating because am not all suited to and fresh. She then went on to say " what if my son broke something". Basically, implying my son is badly behaved. It's been 3 days since I checked out and they have not even released my deposit. So, it's safe to say I was right by being hesitant with paying the deposit.

This hotel's event center (which sounded like it was directly below my room) had been booked for a party the night I stayed there. All I could hear for hours was loud, thumping music. I called the front desk to ask about when it might be over and the front desk attendant said 11PM, which was less than ideal since I had to get up at 5:00 the following morning. I asked how this was allowed and his response essentially boiled down to, "well, they paid for it, so you're just going to have to deal with it." So, potential guests, take note: your ability to sleep at this hotel is less important than the money that someone else paid to rent out the event center. It seems to me that THAT'S management's priority and anyone else staying there will be treated as second-class.

Q
Queen Regeania

The India lady at the front desk wanted mw to give her $50 when asked if we could check in. She said to give her $50 then she could do a early check in. I have never felt so disregarded with this form of unprofessional behavior. I had no words just turned around and walked away.

S

I might as well had stayed at the motel. There was stains on the chair that looked like bodily fluids after pleasure. The smell was terrible of mildew the only thing that was acceptable was the bathroom and the wonderful front desk associate other than that STAY AWAY. You’re better off at the motel down the street.

Serious Safety Concern – Management Dismissed Chemical Attack I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Countryside and had a deeply disturbing experience. My car was deliberately sprayed with a harmful chemical substance in the hotel parking lot. This was not a “minor incident” it was a targeted and dangerous attack. When I reported it, instead of protecting me as a guest, the hotel manager downplayed the situation to police and called it an accident. This was not an accident it was an act that put my life in danger. Even worse, a spray bottle was left in the trash. Police saw it but, the manager minimized the incident, they refused to take it as evidence. The cleaning crew later discarded it. Critical evidence was lost because of management’s interference. The manager even admitted in conversation that this individual had acted this way before, yet he still defended him and told police it was just an accident. Hotel cameras should confirm everything we discussed. Guests deserve to feel safe. Management should not protect dangerous behavior or interfere with investigations. I will never stay here again, and I strongly caution others to avoid this location.

I wish I could give them 0 stars my room roaches and they lied and said they had it inspected and didn’t find anything. Key cards to let me back in room didnt work. My room was never cleaned after 3 days of staying there . I was told they would call back yesterday 3pm by Mauricio to make it right and they never called.

C

If I could give -1000 stars I would. Huge breach of security, and violation of privacy. One of the hotel managers, Sydney, checked out my room 3 days earlier than my checkout date unbeknownst to me, and proceeded to have it listed as a vacant room. The room was then sold while I was away to another guest, who gained access to room I had paid 5 nights for, so when I returned to the hotel to my shock my hotel key was not working. I go down to the front lobby & have my key card reactivated, the lady gives me back access to my room only to realize a stranger had been in the room! There was an empty liquor container in the garbage so I knew someone had been in there. When I go downtairs again( that’s when the night shift worker informed me they had checked my room out & sold it to someone else! I had money in the room which was stolen unfortunately, and a police report was made. The manager Mauricio & Sydney offered nothing but their condescending attitudes as if this was something I asked for, or I was at fault for. Although it is my mistake for thinking my personal belongings were SAFE in a room I paid $1000 for, they in fact did not seem to care that my room was given away, and therefore I was stolen from. They mixed my name and room number up multiple times, and as I spoke with the police making a report another guest also had a very small interaction where they assumed he checked out early and deactivated his key card. This hotel offered ZERO sense of security, offered zero empathy & quite frankly seems very unorganized because how this even happened, is absurd in itself. They gave me corporate information upon my request since the GM Mauricio said in his words “I’m not giving you $1000 worth of anything” when I Inquired on any form on compensation not just for the theft itself, but most importantly the security breach at the fault of their own staff.

Greeted with a terrible smell upon entry, the front desk was rude and made a comment on my appearance as if I’m not staying in a hotel because I’ve been traveling all day. The pool was out of order and based on reviews it seems to be for a while now. I booked a certain style of room and it was given to another guest so i was inherently downgraded. Not to mention they also have fire alarm testing coming somewhere between 8-10:30a you’d think they’d maybe choose a time between check in and check outs. Would not stay here again.

L
Lundon Deshazer

The company did a great job advertising false information and I basically paid for amenities that’s not available at said hotel. Restaurant shut down, the pool is out of order and what they considered as free breakfast was not breakfast. The room was nice and cozy, bathroom was nice and clean but that all I have nice to say!

J
Jasmine Trotter

I’ll never stay here again. Pool wasn’t working , gym wasn’t working restaurant was down & NO I DIDNT SEE NONE OF THAT ON THE WEBSITE STATING IT Was. My key wasn’t working the whole 3 days I was there , everyday I had to go down and be let in my room . No they didn’t offer a discount or nothing

m

So, I booked this hotel due to its pool area being fun for my daughter . The only good thing about this hotel is the large pool /activity area for the kids . I called a few days before and asked if the pool was open due to all the reviews online saying their pool was closed . The front desk told me yes it’s open . So I arrived few days later and they have a sign at front desk the pool is closed until further notice . #1 when you look on their website they display their pool area and how welcoming it is . Not one notification on their site on how the pool Is closed ….. so this hotel could get a 1 star for shitty customer service and lying to customers to get a reservation .

J
Jessyca

I’ve had better service and accommodations in a third world county than here. Bathroom sink water shut off and no real urgency to remediate or fix. Front office staff acted like this wasn’t a big deal & brushed us off and we’re incredibly rude stating this was a known issue while offering to downgrade our room from a double bed suite to a single room “as a courtesy”. If I wasn’t here for a wedding I would absolutely leave this Hell hole.
