Absolutely outstanding experience at Kama Bistro. The food was exceptional — the Chilean sea bass was perfectly cooked, the mixed lamb was full of flavor, and the desserts were the perfect finish to an already incredible meal. Our server, Anna, truly elevated the night. She knew the menu inside out, guided us through the options, and every one of her recommendations was spot on. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.
We had Ana as a server and she was just exceptional. Food was amazing. Very clean inside. Nice decor. And dessert was to die for.
My wife and I tried this place because we like Indian food and have tried several of the other local Indian spots. This place was more elevated than other local Indian locations. The server gave great recommendations and there was a handful of specials that day. We got the Chicken Lemon Tadka as an appetizer and it was just the right mix of creamy lemon flavor with the chicken, the sauce was incredible. The Lamb Chop Masala was delicious and I found putting the whole lamb chops in the dish really elevated it from your typical masala. You could taste the flavor from the grill on the lamb chop while also getting to taste the savory masala sauce. Next we had the Tiger Prawns Molly and at first the presentation blew us away but it was another one where the flavor won the day. This dish we were looking at and when our waitress recommended it to us we had to have it and was not disappointed. Naan was light and fluffy. The drink and cocktail menu looks incredible. My wife's drink was refreshing and a good combination of ingredients. The indoor atmosphere is elegant and I love the bar decor. Price for this Indian food is higher than other local places but as someone who cares about value I can tell you that this place gives you elevated Indian dishes that reasonably match the elevated price. And you get a large serving with your entree, so I say this place is well worth the price. I would definitely recommend going here. Get the mild spice if you aren't that into spicy food. If you can take jalapeno/habanero level spice go medium. If you want maximum spice they have dishes here with California reaper, and other extremely spicy dishes. We got medium spice on the lamb chop masala and mild spice on the Tiger Prawns Molly and both turned out with a little bit of heat but I think it was just right.
We had the pain puri, chilly potatoes, chicken tikka masala, paneer ravioli, kulfi and kheer. (don’t expect your avg. Indian food) this is Indian food with a twist. The food was fantastic!!! Everything was delicious and tasty! Ambience is dimmed and cute. Would definitely come back here
Clean. Modern. Friendly. Excellent chicken tikka masala. Large bar area. Healthy amount of food choices. Pricey. A nice spot if you want to treat yourself or someone else.
Kama was awesome as usual. It was fun to see sauces made with Carolina reaper pepper, especially on the Vindaloo We had the chutny platter to start always a great and light start. Wine availability was very good, my wife went the Shoofly Shiraz and enjoyed it. Its available at Binnys when you need more to eat your left overs. We order Saag sauce with lamb and vindaloo spicy with chicken. both dishes outstanding. Chef did not hold back of on the heat, so fun and tasty. If you want hot, go khama-kazee. The stuffed non was good, but plain non or garlic nan a much better choice! The Doorsa (basmati rice beer) was very qunching. Nice portions for price as well. Nice seeing people pouring in after 730. A real winner here!
could not have asked for anything better. Great ambiance, flavorful food and helpful service
My family goes a few times a year, it is not close. My daughter nas a nut allergy and is vegan and gluten free. She has so many options there. The food and service are outstanding. I made a reservation for my daughters birthday and said it was for a birthday. We told the server right away of her nut allergy and vegan and gluten free. The food was outstanding. Near the end the server came and knew it was for a birthday. She guessed it was my daughter. Knowing the food limits she recommended the coconut milk rice pudding with brulee and would not add the nuts for her birthday dessert. That was impressive. My daughter LOVED it. We will be back. So many workers said goodnight and thank you as we left. If you have not been here, you don't know what you are missing. I just pulled up the receipt I was texted. Unfortunately it does not have my servers name, or I would share it. She was outstanding
We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday and it was such a wonderful time. Everything was 💯 delicious and perfect. I parked at the deck in downtown Lagrange and just a block of walk to the restaurant. This is my second time here and both time was amazing. Service was excellent and non stop water refill and asking us if everything was good. We love the good food and wonderful service and it's so beautiful inside too. 10/10 for sure!
Never disappoints! From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always goes above and beyond to make you feel like a valued guest. Every dish I’ve tried has been expertly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. You can taste the quality and care in every bite. What really sets Kama apart is their consistency. No matter the occasion, they deliver exceptional food and service every single time. If you’re looking for a place that combines great ambiance, top-notch cuisine, and a commitment to excellence, this is it. Truly a gem that keeps me coming back time and time again! Highly recommend to anyone who loves amazing food and a flawless dining experience!
After hearing a lot of praise about this place, we went there to try it out. It sure did live up to its expectations! We tried a wide variety of items on the menu and nothing disappointed. Worth checking it out if you like Indian cuisine. PS- I did really like their take on some of the cocktails.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at this restaurant, and it was an excellent choice! The atmosphere was amazing, the food was delicious, and to our surprise, they gifted us a dessert to celebrate our special day. It was a truly memorable experience!
If you are looking for good Indian food this is the place to go! We’ve been here a few times now and everything we have had has been great! Love their unique cocktails too! And the staff is top notch. Very attentive and helpful in helping you order when you don’t have a lot is experience with Indian foods. Definitely recommend.
My husband and I went to Kama in LaGrange for restaurant week last night and it was nothing short of amazing. I’ve been before for happy hour with friends and had the same experience. The service and atmosphere is on point but the star of the show is the food! I had the mussels appetizer, that sauce, omg delish. The lamb chops and ravioli paneer were amazing as well. The little kulfi for the dessert was the perfect ending. Chef’s kiss 💯
Food was excellent and a good value. Only food complaint is that the naan bread servings were small (only by comparison to other places I've been). Service was uneven for the money my party spent ($100/person): drink orders were slow, we had to remind servers of our missing appetizers, forks were not replaced as old ones were taken away, dirty plates sat on the table too long, table wasn't wiped between courses. Mediocre service seems to be the norm now at most resturants
We got several things: -chicken lemon tadka (this was really delicious! the cream lemon sauce was the star of this appetizer) -grilled paneer (this appetizer was good but really really spicy) -chicken tandoori grill (my best dish here; the chicken was so juicy and tender; i'm really impressed) -lamb tikka masala (curry tastes really good) -saag (i personally love saag but this was really disappointing; has an off-taste) -eggplant (this was a fun dish) -regulat naan & garlic naan (these are eh; i've had way better)
Food was good overall. We ordered Paneer Tikka and Prime Ribeye Tikka as our appetizers, and Mixed Chicken Grill as the main course. The ribeye app was good (unique taste and good twist on ribeye), but little too much fat for my taste, and not enough meat— besides only 4 small slices given for $30, each slice was 25-33% fat— not worth it IMO. The naan was great, tasted really fresh and soft. We came out here for my fiancée’s birthday and we were excited to eat here as it was our first time, but the one thing that slightly threw off the night was that one of the drinks was not to our liking, it was super sweet so we sent the drink back but the server returned with it because management sent it back and said they can only take half off—Odd response IMO. I am not one to waste food or drinks—if the drink is okay, I will still try to finish it, but after taking a second sip I knew it was just too sweet and I would be unable to finish it. IMO management should be able to take back items that were not consumed (especially at bit of finer dining establishments), 2 managers even came by to pick up dirty dishes or give water, and neither times asked how things were going or mention the full drink that sat on side of the table the whole night. Aside from that our server, Laura, was actually great and we did enjoy the food. Paneer Tikka—8.0, with chutney 8.5 Ribeye Tikka App—7.5 Mixed Chicken Grill—9.0 Naan—9.0 Some Berry Cocktail—0.0
I had the Beet & Goat cheeae salad ..garlic naan ..Samosa with spiced potatoes & peas . Red Curry Sauce.... ice tea .. The salad was fresh and tastee ..not so much a traditional Indian dish more of a Indian Fusion dish .. The samosas were flaky with a tastee spicy potato & pea mix .. The garlic naan was very good and when dipped in the curry sauce it made the order a hit .... OQ
Went here during restaurant week, which is great value, otherwise very pricey for the quality. The lamb chops were amazing as well as a few of the appetizers. Everything else tasted like a typical Indian menu item, nothing elevated. Most of the meals tasted bland. We ordered the bass and it was slightly under cooked. I got ice cream for dessert and it was underwhelming. I have to say though, the staff are amazing!
We dined there yesterday, we ordered everything vegetarian. The food quality was very underwhelming. We ordered paneer makhani, pindi chana, vindalu cauliflower, none of the dish had good flavors, every food item tasted sour. We ordered crispy chili potatoes for appetizer, which were laden in ketchup and were also sour. Rotis were rubbery, none of us could eat any. We had to ask to replace with naan, which were better. We thought it was a good Indian restaurant based on the reviews, probably not for vegetarians though. Desserts were okay, nothing impressive. Very small portions for the price of the items. For birthday celebration, our server brought a nicely decorated plate but the contents were just whipped cream and chocolate syrup, which was also underwhelming. Drinks were the only saving grace and our server was pleasant. Regarding the building, restrooms were freezing, it seemed like no heat in there. Overall, not impressed and not enjoyed it to go back again.
