So, yes, the first piece of good news: there's no need to meditate on the steering wheel or cast curses. Find a spot, put on your shoes, and off you go to Portello, which welcomes you with its green walls, a natural lure in the midst of this temple of consumerism. AT A GLANCE The place looks good: not too big, tidy, and pleasant. It has that "modern but not overbearing" bar feel that makes you immediately feel like you're in the right place for a quick coffee or a chat between the two shop windows. The tables, a bit close together, remind you that intimacy isn't an option here: you share the air, the chatter, and maybe even a few curious glances from the next table. After all, we're in a shopping mall after all: expecting monastic silence would be a bit much, right? LIGHTS AND SHADOWS (LITERALLY) The lighting is cheerful, perhaps too much so. More than "intimate atmosphere," I'd say "Sunday market atmosphere." A little light adjustment would help, but it's also true that between the bustle of strollers, shoppers, and background music, the intimacy dissolves like sugar in coffee. COFFEE: SWEET REDEMPTION And we're talking about coffee: Illy brand, brewed to perfection. A small concentration of happiness, with a dense cream and a bold aroma, so good it makes up for any possible environmental flaws. The dessert display is equally compelling: inviting brioches, carefully crafted pastries, the perfect mix of tradition and mall indulgence. LATE SMILE On the welcome front, the start is a bit slow. The staff initially appears "on their own," almost as if to say: let's talk after the first coffee, okay? But then, with a little interaction, a sincere and radiant smile arrives. A small gesture that changes everything, because in the world of hospitality, a smile isn't optional; it fuels the customer experience. PRICES & BALANCE Prices are in line with the market, no surprises or heartbreaks. A balanced experience, without fanfare but also without off-key notes. A bar that makes you want to "return, but not make a pilgrimage." CONCLUSION Portello is a classic shopping mall venue: it does its job, does it well, and accompanies you in the perfect break between purchases. It doesn't promise memorable experiences, but it keeps its daily promises: good coffee, proper service, and a break. Three and a half stars would be perfect, but since ratings don't allow for half-hearted emotions, we're giving it four. That extra half star is dedicated to the smile, earned and deserved, and which we hope will become, from now on, the first item on the menu.

I've been here several times for coffee, which isn't bad, as is the staff. The only downside is that most of the time the tables are dirty, the floor looks like a hurricane, and the counter is a mess. Furthermore, both the tables and chairs need updating; they're already dated.

I went there last week for breakfast and wasn't entirely satisfied. The croissant was very good, I can't really say anything. However, I found the place to be messy, both in the dining room and behind the counter. There was only one person, left completely alone by the other employee in the shop, who did everything, from the cash register to the coffee shop, which created a completely avoidable wait. I would recommend paying more attention to cleanliness and prioritizing customer service over other businesses.

We had a chocofresh and a chocoloco. The chocoloco was good but not very good, while the chocofresh had little pistachio cream, and the coffee cream was bitter (I had to add sugar). The dessert selection was limited for snack time (there were only two tarts and a few cookies).

Buonasera, volevo fare presente una cosa alquanto spiacevole che ci è successa questa sera, 15/10/23, a me e alla mia amica, il ragazzo che ci ha serviti, oltre a servirci con visibile svogliatezza e malavoglia, come se fossimo fastidiosi (questo è quello che è passato) ci ha fatto pagare un "choco-fresco grande" servendoci un "choco fresco piccolo" al momento non abbiamo voluto fare storie vista la gente presente e la differenza di 0,50 cent che non è una grossa perdita, non discuto su quanto lasciato di "mancia", stupido io che non ho fatto presente, a parte questo però, vedere un atteggiamento del genere passa proprio la voglia di fermarsi anche solo per prendere qualcosa.

Absolutely not recommended. I bought an Ace juice, €2.90. They told me to get it from the fridge myself, but I couldn't find it. I asked the girls to check, but they didn't see it. I asked my colleagues to look elsewhere, but they couldn't find it. They told me it wasn't there and that I could choose something else. I asked for a return, and they arrogantly replied, "We don't do returns from the self-service checkout." I bought a juice, and that was it. Before selling, you have to check and make sure the products are available.

The bar is tucked away in a small space very close to one of the entrances to the Globo. The furnishings are worn (small tables, sofas) and give the impression of being poorly maintained. Service is nonexistent, meaning you have to do everything yourself, and above all, the products we tried were not up to par: neither the very runny cappuccino nor the Montebianco, which, while pleasant (a couple of marron glacés with a dollop of cream on top), is much smaller than one might expect from the illustration on the sign. It's a shame; there's definitely room for improvement.

Why do they ask for a juicer at 8 in the morning? Hearing this from one of the people behind the counter is a disservice. If you don't want to do it, just set a time and customers will adapt. It's not nice to hear these complaints from an employee when a customer only asks for what's on the menu.

Rude staff (especially the blonde one) and poorly organized. Anyone serving customers can't leave customers queuing at the cash register and tell a customer, "If they don't want to wait, they can go to another bar." Maybe she should change jobs and learn some manners.

The guys are very nice, the sandwich would have been good if they hadn't heated up the mayonnaise and salad!! But the spritz was awful, the worst I've ever had.
