We ate here today and it was truly the best choice! The waiters were so friendly and attentive! The food was delicious, the ribeye steak was cooked perfectly, the grilled vegetables were fantastic, we ordered croquettes and the migas from Extremadura were amazing! The dessert was wonderful. We'll definitely eat here again when we return. Thank you!
Four of us went to the El Castillo Restaurant and left very happy. Our favorites were the roast suckling pig and the homemade croquettes—delicious! For dessert, we tried the mousse, which was delicious. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was delicious, and we thought the price-quality ratio was fair. We will definitely return.
We ordered ribeye steak, goat stew, and "patatas revolconas" (mashed potatoes with paprika) from La Vera, the latter two to try some regional dishes recommended by the waiter. They were excellent 👌. The stew was delicious 😋 and the potatoes were very, very tasty. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. The waiter couldn't have been nicer, a young man from Madrid who, I don't know how he does it, but he's always attentive without losing his cheerfulness and friendliness, providing top-notch service. We finished with two delicious desserts: a cheesecake and an excellent cherry mousse, perfect in my opinion because it's not too sweet with just the right touch of acidity.
The place where we had dinner had great views; it was recommended by my friend, and it was definitely a great choice. I started with the selection of croquettes; each one was delicious, from the black pudding and apple croquette, which I loved, to the Torta del Casar cheese croquette with its creamy texture. Then came the sirloin steak, which was perfect, along with its garnish of cherries. The combination of the two flavors was incredible—highly recommended. I didn't like the fries, though. And finally, the fried milk dessert was so delicious and so well made that it reminded me of the one my friend Samuel's mother makes, so I ordered two more. P.S.: I'll be back.
Everything was delicious, the staff was very friendly and attentive, highly recommended. The roast goat was delicious, the torta del casar was also delicious, and the desserts... I didn't even get around to taking a photo because as soon as we saw them, we couldn't wait... the cheesecake was a 10/10!
Chulooo
A charming place with a spacious outdoor terrace overlooking the cherry trees—perfect for these COVID times. The service and attention were excellent, and the food was very good. We recommend the migas (a traditional Spanish dish) and the homemade desserts. Gazpacho, migas, entrecote, two desserts, beer, and two soft drinks came to €44. Great value for money. Everything was fantastic.
Very good and real food from Extremadura! the patatas revolconas were incredibly tasty, cabrito asado was tasty and tender, and the cheesecake was sooooo good! Plus staff is extremely kind. Will come back for sure.
I went there on the recommendation of a colleague, and well, the food was good, the prices were reasonable, and the service was very attentive. Yes, there's one drawback: the food didn't arrive at the table hot enough for my liking, nor for the customer next to me. I ordered ribeye steak and migas, and both arrived just shy of lukewarm. Otherwise, no problem.
I went on a tourist trip to the Jerte Valley with other travelers. We ate. The migas (a traditional Spanish dish) were just okay; my mother makes them with much better flavor. The pieces were smaller, and they needed to be cooked more thoroughly in the pan. There was also fried pork belly and red peppers. They were very careful with the salad, adding no salt, vinegar, or oil—perhaps they were thinking about our cholesterol and blood pressure. The lamb stew was more lamb skin than actual lamb, passable, but thankfully the portion was small; they made it so we wouldn't gain weight. For dessert, the cherry mousse was good but a bit greasy. However, the portion was small so we wouldn't gain weight, which was very considerate since we were on a day trip. The best thing was the service, which was incredibly busy. This was a tourist experience; otherwise, I would have asked for a complaint form.
We had booked a few days in advance for eight people and ordered the weekend menu, and I can say on behalf of everyone that we enjoyed everything. The waiter was attentive and very friendly, the dishes were well prepared and served, and the temperature was just right. In short, we loved it and will definitely be back. Thank you!
Good restaurant in Jerte The migas aren't the best. The roasted kid goat was very good. You have an outside terrace with 4 tables. The service is very good inside. It's large, so you don't have to wait long. Next to the valley head, which is always busy and touristy. I recommend it if you're going to Jerte and want to see cherry blossoms and then visit the port of Honduras. Very good except for the migas, which were dry and not enjoyable.
A typical restaurant. A bit pricey but that was a good experience.
Poor quality food at a high price. I would not recommend at all.
I wouldn't go back. We ordered two gazpachos, a portion of garlic shrimp, and a fish stew. They brought us two gazpachos that were just water with salt; we sent them back to the kitchen. The garlic shrimp arrived frozen and raw. We ended up not ordering the fish stew because everything was so bad. They brought the bill and charged us €39, and the place was empty (no wonder).
Disappointment We came here on a recommendation from a friend and it was a huge disappointment. Poor service, unpolite, the waiters were good but few and far between. It took them over half an hour to take our order and then over half an hour to clear the service and order desserts☹️... The coffees arrived before the dessert. Dismal. And the food was very average: dry crumbs like breadcrumbs with a bit of paprika and a fried egg on top, and beans with clams in a slightly strange stew. We asked for the bill, but the desserts didn't arrive. Shame on the place. We won't be back or recommending it.
