Food is great but way to expensive. I paid 17.00 for a small tea a ham and Swiss on a bagel.

I had a sausage, egg and cheese on a scooped out egg bagel and it might be the best i have had to this day on the island. The service was impeccable and the food was cooked to perfection. Recommend it ti everyone!

Mom and I had the fluffy omelet, with home fries and coffee and a bagel.the omelet was so filling I brought the bagel home. My daught er loved her everything bagel and my granddaughter had " the best egg sandwich ever" according to her.

During the summer would go every Sunday with my dad on the motorcycle to eat with friends. Great food and service. Always busy but moved very quick.

First time but not my last. Clean, friendly, many choices including healthy choices, acai bowls, oatmeal, smoothies. Adhered to mask guidelines and plenty of tables outside which made social distancing easier.

There's lots of good options. Fresh bagels and good coffee. Very modern looking inside and the touch of Valentine decorations was tasteful.

There is certainly no shortage of bagel places on Long Island but Bean and Bagel is my favorite. Great bagels and spreads. Fast, friendly service!

What a wonderful find for lunch during our visit on Long Island. The bagels were super fresh and delicious. I had the Big Mamma D’s on an everything bagel, husband had The Charlie Boyz on an Asiago bagel (this sandwich is out of this world good). Their customer service was top notch as well. Highly recommend you stop by if you’re in the area and try them out.

Great food, service and environment. Whatever culture they are setting in there, its awesome. I think one of the ladies (maybe the owner) hugged a whole bunch of customers. You can tell that they have a lot of regular customers. They said things like "are you getting the usual" or "how's this person or that person". Cool spot, chill music. I would recommend if you are in the area. 👍👍👍

This place feels like my home away from home, it's a definite "Cheers" feeling "where everyone knows your name". Love the food, love the people. Definitely a local hangout, and a must stop in for out of towners. They have my favorite Acai bowls out of anywhere else!

My motorcycle club comes here on Sunday mornings for breakfast and fellowship. The staff is always great and the food is always good. I love the self serve coffee so I can make it how I like it. Our club is always treated well and it seems they value our business. Haven't had a bad experience here yet and I doubt I will.

The service here is by far one of the best! I forgot my wallet at home and could not pay for my order. The women behind the counter said that she trust me to come back the next time I'm in to pay for it. I have never seen anyone be so trusting. Really nice place food is amazing! I did have Samsung pay on my phone, it turns out they do expect it as well as Apple pay! So I was able to pay at the end. But it is the first reaction that won me over to keep going back! Thanks again!

Awesome bagels. It gets very busy, but they move you along fast. This has been my favorite bagel place for the last 10 years. They have indoor and outdoor seating. To top it off, they really care about their customers and the community.

June2023: we stopped for lunch while running errands, my husband had a burger, and i had a sandwich. Both brought to our table within 10 min. Quick service and great food. Sometimes simple is the best - had bacon, egg & cheese on a roll. Also brought some bagels home to freeze for the week.

Great Bagels and breakfast place. I've been here many times and always had something good. They're only open for breakfast and lunch, and can be packed at the beginning of the work day during the week. The staff are efficient, helpful and I think glad to be there.

One of my go-to breakfast/lunch stops since I moved to Ridge in 2017. Unlike most delis and bagel shops, B&B has a relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff, spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas, and even a fireplace. $9 and change will get you a big 3-egg omelet meal that includes home fries, a toasted bagel, and coffee. The bagels are tasty and come in a wide variety of flavors including mocha coffee, apple cinnamon, Asiago cheese, and cheddar jalapeno.

The bagels were very fresh (it was early morning), the coffee was good, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, despite it being a busy Saturday morning. We sat outside in the tent area which the owners had transformed into a fantasy garden. Our visit left a very positive impression and I want to go back there.

Breakfast is great they have a unique selection of bagels and cream cheese, everything is freshly made. The omelette are huge and reasonably priced. Haven't been for lunch but can't wait to try out their menu.

Found this place after trying to find a nice little breakfast place for after a funeral procession at Calverton. My parents, my wife, and I went here and i can say the food was fantastic. We had breakfast sandwiches and platters and everything was absolutely delicious. The tater tots are UNBELIEVABLE. Do not hesitate to stop in.

After many years of having at best mediocre food from a nearby deli or convenience store for breakfast or lunch options, I was thrilled when Bean and Bagel opened. Their food is great, staff is friendly and efficient. Great eggs, soups and sandwiches! Their vanilla cranberry cream cheese is to die for!!!!

I adore this cafe. Joanne and her staff are amazing. I found this little gem of a cafe back in 2016 when I moved to Calverton from the South Shore. Many years and many moves later, I still find myself coming back to the Bean & Bagel.

Overall good ordered 2 bacon and egg sandwiches one with cheese for me one without cheese for my son cheese was only on one side and the sandwiches felt a bit thrown together but my son was happy with it and the staff were kind.

Bagels were awesome and lot of variety of cream cheese! Cajun omelette was mind blowing!!

Hard to find bagels this good in Suffolk County, and at a place so clean with such great service - no wonder it’s always busy on weekends. Luckily you won’t have to wait long, they’re incredibly efficient! Big menu and good prices as well. It makes a great stop on your way to the outlets, you won’t regret it!

I was in the area for work and someone suggested this place. It was well worth it. I stopped in the morning and got a big bagel LOADED with cream cheese. Delicious and only $4. I had no idea their menu was so diverse. I came back for lunch. I ordered the Big Momma D’s Italian sub for lunch. It came with chips or a side salad for $13 and change. There was so much meat I could only eat half. If you are ever in the area, you won’t regret giving them a try.

I rarely write reviews, but I like to give credit when credit is due. I’ve been in there a few times when I’m in the area for work. Everything is always good. Today I had some extra time so I stopped in, and I honestly almost left because I saw the line was a little bit on the longer side. I decided to stay, and there was one girl working behind the counter. She got the line down so fast I was genuinely impressed. She might have even been the owner. I’m not sure. But she wasn’t overwhelmed, and she treated each customer with a smile and great service. I don’t know her name, but she had very long blonde hair and a tattoo that wrapped around her arm. Food was great, I will always come back when I’m in the area.

After a few visits the young man knew my name already and was happy to see me. It's a rare find to get such personal service like this anywhere in new York these days. A nice eatery with typical brunch options: bagel, omelet, sandwich and so on. The bagel is medium soft with chewiness. The omelet includes fries or tort, a bagel, and a small coffee or juice, a real stealer. The thick cut french toast is surprisingly delicious with crispy on the outside and tender inside. Overall a exceeding expectation dinner and the price is also unbeatable in Long island.

Pancakes were fantasticly fluffy, three big pillows with syrup and butter. Outstanding! Huge selection of herbal caffeine free tea. Love this place but may not come back because the last two times we were there, there was a group of sweaty people who had just come in from a run. I'm sorry, but I think that's really gross, not to say disrespectful to the other diners. Shower before you come in! Or at least cool off and change first. I lost my appetite.

I’m soooo in love with the egg everything bagels, they are my favorite! They have really great authentic bagels! The churro bagel was pretty good, I expected it to be a little sweeter and more cinnamon. The one thing is that the wait here takes a very long time to get your food just when you think you forgot about it’s just because it’s a long wait and they also forgot one of the items we had to go up there and ask for it. The French toast wasn’t very good. They have self serve coffee.

"Good" food and since the weather permitted, my cycling group took our break on the front porch. A bagel and coffee will cost you an hour's working class, Long Island wages...a little less than ten dollars which is under two dollars if served at home. This is not the Hamptons on the other fork after Riverhead. "Gourmet" everything including corn flakes is to be found there where prices are ignored. I will use this as a snack stop for future two-wheeled adventures. Eat MY fruit, drink THEIR coffee (It is "good" java). Bean and Bagel is not a "cafe" despite the coffee served here, but neither is Starbucks. Cafes have table service in Paris. In America you wait on line and sit and talk for five hours. At Bean and Bagel you wait on line and watch cars go by on the Pothole Highway. It would be nicer on a back porch if they had one. Do you want a healthy meal? It depends on your definition of what ""healthy" means. Bean and Bagel does not fit that definition for me because it is antithetical to my endurance athlete's breakfast regimen. Protein and complex carbs are necessary. Their white flour bagels are the equivalent of an entire small loaf of Wonder Bread. Give me a whole grain raisin muffin any day. Every day. Bean and Muffin Cafe with table service would be more suitable and enjoyable. Otherwise, this is the same as a 7 Eleven outpost. It is a matter of what YOU like, not what I prefer

Food is ok. Don't listen to how I asked for the food to be cooked though. I got a bacon egg and cheese on an everything flagel and I asked for the bacon and the flagel to be very well done. I specifically asked for it to be very crunchy. It took so long that the rest of the people I was with were done eating there meals and it still came out with soggy bacon and a soggy, barely warm flagel.

Eaten at countless bagel places on Long Island and this ranks as one of the worst I’ve had. Tastes like a bagel you get from the supermarket. The bacon egg and cheese had 2 pieces of bacon and the egg yolk was smothered all over the bottom so it was just a disaster to eat. I feel for any locals that have to call this their bagel place cause this is terrible. EDIT: updating rating as everyone in my house said they absolutely loved the bagels… I’m the only one with a 1 star so updated it to reflect that. Maybe I’m the broken one. Just had an everything and it was loaded with so much stuff I couldn’t even finish it due to saltiness…

It's okay. Honestly I've had better homemade strawberry cream cheese from other local places. The line you have to wait on just order a bagel is ridiculous and it moves very slowly. My husband ordered a scrambled egg with bacon on a bagel they told us to take our seat and they would bring it to him, he waited 20 minutes for something that could have been whipped up in 5 - 8 minutes. I'm just going to stick to our smaller local places.

Staff is friendly and courteous. The plain bagel I had was not very good. It was somewhat chewy. My husband had bacon and egg on a roll. He said the bacon was very fatty.

The food is delicious but there were sooo many flies in that place that you wonder how many landed on your bagel all day. It's also super hot in there. I feel bad that the employees have to work in that environment.

Our sandwich was terrible. We have eaten there many times and enjoyed the food but this last time was unacceptable.

This used to be the absolute BEST bagels on the island, but it would seem they lost their bagel chef a few months back and now it's just not the same. Great people, great menu, but the bagels are dry, bland, and boring. No matter what time of day, they always taste like they've been sitting out for a few hours. I really hope they are able to find that special something that has been lost.

I always get breakfast here but I guess they thought changing the bacon was a good idea well it wasn’t nobody I know likes it feels like I’m in Canada u literally gotta cut it with a knife I’ll be exploring other breakfast spots. I’ll miss the girls at counter they are always the best they keep the place going.

Bad experience going here. I ordered a sandwich and french toast and had to wait over 25 minutes for the egg sandwich. The sandwich had a stale bagel and they forgot the rest of my order, leaving it on the side with no help. By the time I did get it, I got an awkward look and very cold french toast. Would not recommend.

Busy Saturday afternoon, ordered 3 eggs and turkey. Got 1 egg and 1 slice turkey on a cold bagel, not room temp, but literally cold. I've been here a few times, seems like they are cutting corners for profit over quality recently.

Unfortunately this place keeps going downhill. 30 minutes for 1 egg sandwich? They have no organization whatsoever, they take your order then forget about you. Line of people waiting to order and one of the workers was just laughing and joking around with a customer. They need some type of managerial presence there. I don’t usually care about the money I spend on food but $8 for a sandwich that was cold, barely had any bacon and took 30 minutes of my time isn’t worth it. They used to have such great workers but can’t seem to keep them around. Smiling faces and funny jokes don’t get the job done, efficiency and quality do unfortunately this place is missing the latter.

Price is too high. A breakfast bagel sandwich and a coffee is over $11. I could've gone to McDonald's and got some cheaper breakfast. Won't be going back there anymore. ***As an update to Bean and Bagels response to my review: Yeah, McDonald's may very well microwave their eggs for their sandwiches but they're still more economical than your place. And there are other bagel restaurants in the area that charge less for a sandwich and a coffee. Bagel Lovers on Harrison Avenue has lower prices, much better bagel and sandwiches and they serve customers much faster than your dump. Btw people, don't believe all of the fake 4 and 5 star reviews from their lackeys.

This was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with Bean & Bagel. Walked in & there were no customers just me & the girls behind the counter…. but it took a good 12 seconds for anyone to acknowledge me. They may have been more concerned with laughing amongst each other? I’m not sure… After I ordered I had asked another girl to help me to get a dozen bagels, her response was “as soon as i’m done doing what i’m doing” in an impolite way. Also in the middle of me choosing my bagels some random teenage walked in and she stopped getting my bagels to hug him? Very odd encounter. It’s very unfortunate that the new owners don’t take pride in their meals & service the same way the old owners used to. I travel from afar for these bagels & I will not be returning after the experience I had today. Bagels were mid anyways… not like they’re selling gold to be acting that way.

Great food, but to me customer service is everything.. and here it's always a bad experience. There will be 5 people behind the counter yet i always seem to wait 5 minutes to order when im the only one waiting. Once i got there at 2:50 when they close at 3 and i was refused service after driving 2 towns away.. as someone who's worked in the food industry i know customers are the first priority. I find their service unfortunately shameful

After the high suggestion of a family member I decided to give this place a try . Unfortunately I can NOT give Such a rave review as her. My first order had items missing and the counter experience was chaotic . Thinking this was a one time thing and understanding mistakes happen I gave it another try . To my disappointment my second experience was even worse than the first . Both times I called in my order for pick up and repeated the details and even had it repeated back . This second order was completely wrong and over priced. What was supposed to be a hot pastrami sandwich was cold and lacking on the pastrami, the knish was ordered with smoked mozzarella ONLY and what I received was a knish with three pieces of some bologna looking meat, cheese. soggy and squished . Along with those two item I ordered 1/2 pound ham , 1/4 pound pastrami and 1/4 pound cheese all were sliced way too thick. Still can not fathom how this should’ve costed damn near $50 !!! Needless to say I will NOT be coming back to Beans and Bagels . Oh and the second order counter experience was just as chaotic as the first . No one in store , five people behind counter and still waited too long to be serviced. Get it together people! To top things off I’m pregnant and my lunched was ruined twice by you guys .

Very disappointing Breakfast! Terrible service even if it's a busy Sunday morning hospitality is a key part of service in the food industry. The food was terrible not even close to what we had asked for: untoasted bread, no avocado, no salt and pepper, the cheapest yellow cheese available which made us sick, and runny uncooked eggs. Out of the two times I went here both experiences were bad.. I paid almost 9$ for an acai bowl that was terrible...the acai puree was watery and it had a very sour tart taste and the only thing that came on it was banana and overly hard granola in an extremly small portion so I figured next time I would stick to ordering something simple like a bagel so for 2 bagels (one with regular cream cheese one with flavored cream cheese) came to 8 dollars the bagels were mediocre but definatly not worth 8 bucks for 2 bagels that is rediculous!! Never again!

Acai bowl was so small and the fake peanut butter ruined it. Waited awhile for our lunch, too. Two different seated customers after us were served before us.

Not a fan, bagel was kind of stale. No flavor at all. Got w veggie cream cheese n it was flavorless. Stuff knish was ehhh. Bacon needed to be cooked more. Homemade iced tea was basically just water. Prob won’t be going bad. Service was bad too.

I was fine with this place the 1 to 3 times they messed up on a couple of things I have ordered in the past ... which were fixable things not a big deal but... I 100% drew the line on the hair I found mid way of me eating my roll. I mean if you ask me, It would help if all the girls at the counter wore hair nets then we wouldn't be having this problem in the first place and I wouldn't be an unsatisfied customer.

Everytime I order breakfast for my family something is always missing... but it is never missing from the bill... 10 out of 10 will not be going there anymore

I've lived near here for year and finally decided to try it out. Walking in you have no idea where to order or what's going on. After getting the food and drinks we tried the lattes on the way out the door and it tasted like nothing but cream and milk with foam. We threw them out before even getting in the car. Then the sandwiches looked good but the bacon was thick and so hard it couldn't be eaten. The cheese had a funny consistently to it. It's like it didn't fully melt and tasted weird. Then the other sandwich had honey turkey which if that's all they had they should have specified bec with ketchup on it does not taste well. Also just waiting for everything in general took way to long when only 1 other person was waiting.

I heard the place has great food and what I heard was correct delicious food the reason I'm giving this place one star is the staff specifically amber. I waited on line and notice that the people in front and behind me were greeted with a smile and a hello i didn't think much of until after i ordered i looked around and saw that I was the only minority in the place (later on another black man came in) the food came out quickly then sat on the counter I look at the time and just wanted to see how long it would take the whole interaction took 30 mins at least very saddened that this kind of treatment still happens

I am a level 7 google reviewer and have been reviewing restaurants for over 4 years now and this is the first time, i have been very disappointed by an establishment. They are listed to be open till 3 pm , however we went there at 2 pm on a saturday only to be told that their grill person has left and they can only serve bagels. Wow! A whole hour and they have no grill cook on a saturday! Not worth your time to stop here.

I order a simple everything bagel with cream cheese. What I got in return was something I never expected. This bagel had the most rancid tasting cream cheese I’ve ever tasted. Super sour smell and a SUPER sour taste. My stomach hurts and I will NEVER come back.

I work locally, so many people from work order here daily. I stopped ordering from here months ago because sadly the food is always terrible, and had made me and my coworkers sick on several occasions. Bagels are the worst I’ve ever had. Everything else I’ve ordered is tasteless and soaked with grease. I recently ordered again (don’t ask me why) and a few hours later got food poisoning! (That was the only thing I had eaten that day besides a small cup of yogurt). Never ordering from there again!!
