Dormito in campeggio. Cene e colazione a buffe ottimi.
Personale gentilissimi e piatti ottimi, ristorante consigliatissimo👍🏻
Grazie!
Prezzi buoni.
I really like Locanda dei Baroni because it always has that extra something of a family feel. Naturally, being an old farmhouse, it doesn't have some of the services that others might look for, such as a TV in the room (which is why I gave it 4 stars). However, silence, fresh air, excellent food, a day there will rejuvenate you.
Located on Via di Francesco. Historic building and rooms, though with modern bathrooms. Friendly staff. Delicious food, although we were the only guests that evening. Note: bookings cannot be made online, but only by email or phone. Open in winter as well.
We dined here two nights ago. The menu is extensive and the food is truly exceptional. Despite being practically the only restaurant in the area, the quality is top-notch and the dishes are truly delicious. I highly recommend the chestnut ravioli with orange compote. The staff is super friendly despite their long shifts. I'll definitely be back!
The restaurant was packed; we were just passing through, looking for a quick bite to eat. I must say, however, that the kitchen was very quick. The pappardelle with ragù were excellent, and the side dishes with polenta were delicious. We'll be back soon because it's worth it. Oh, and there were photos of everything, dishes, and the location. Value for money...superb.
We spent a night at this inn while visiting Camaldoli. The room was simple and basic (no TV, but I appreciated that), the bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with a large shower. We had a great time! Breakfast included excellent desserts, and dinner was delicious. The polenta with wild boar was excellent, and the tagliatelle with mushrooms were also delicious! I hope to return one day. Melania
We stayed here, and as other reviews have noted, the rooms are dated but clean. What matters most to me, however, is the kind and helpful staff; From the waiters, to the chef, to the owner... I was able to eat everything I wanted, as almost the entire menu is available in a gluten-free version! They even had fried mushrooms (a rare find) and delicious potato tortelli, which I chose to serve with mushrooms (both ragù and wild boar ragù are also available). The waiter also recommended a wine from a local producer, which was truly excellent. The typical Camaldoli schiacciata was also excellent. Good value for money. Thanks for everything!!!
Fantastic Restaurant with delicious food and very friendly staff. We recommend you give it a try!
We stayed at the Locanda dei Baroni for three nights, from August 8th to 11th. We'd stayed here before a few years ago, and after a while, the experience was truly pleasant. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but equipped with all the essentials. We were impressed by the meticulous cleaning. The breakfast included with our stay included a variety of sweet options, with delicious homemade tarts and various biscuits, and as soon as we sat down, someone was always ready to prepare our hot drinks in a flash. Our only complaint: perhaps a greater variety of savory options would have been the icing on the cake. The staff is truly friendly: even in crowded and stressful moments, they were always smiling, ready with a joke, and ready to help us with any request. The location, always wonderful, is ideal for those seeking refuge from the city heat and wanting to unplug for a few days. Despite the hotel's good Wi-Fi, I recommend putting your phone on airplane mode and enjoying the beauty of the Casentino forests, while savoring a delicious slice of torta della nonna. Highly recommended! A big thank you to all the staff: we will definitely be back :)
We stayed half-board after a stop on the Sacred Forests Trail. Dinner and breakfast were plentiful and excellent, starting with the wide selection for dinner and the delicious homemade cakes for breakfast. The rooms were functional.
Amazing food and wines, I personally liked the crew! Very nice and prepared! Highly recommended
Very nice place to eat, local products, higher quality.
Wonderful waiters, great food and beautiful location. It's hard to choose whether to have the famous Schiacciata or the more traditional options from the menu, so it's best to come often to try ever…

I stayed here for one night. The rooms are simple but clean. I can tolerate dust, and it was fine. We had an excellent dinner, and the breakfast was also good. It was a bit chilly due to a sudden drop in temperature, but they turned on the heating right away, so that problem was solved immediately.
I visited twice for meals, as it was the only open restaurant in the area, which is undoubtedly its greatest asset. The service was friendly, although sometimes seemed incompetent. For example, during one visit, there was a very long wait for the bill. Another day, the entire staff stopped approaching guests because they were taking a break to eat. The food was tasty, but a few things could be improved. The salad was just lettuce and carrots, looking like it came straight from a bag. The venison burger was half-raw, which was a shame because it was very tasty. The main courses included fried mushrooms with cold cuts, which seemed more like an appetizer than a main course. Other than that, for a restaurant in a mountain village, there's nothing to complain about. The shop selling local produce was a nice touch.
Well, rooms would live some upgrading but somehow I really enjoyed the stay. Friendly and tasty.
The location is perfect, breakfast (included) and dinner (not included) are good. The mattresses are fine, but the rooms are a bit old, so there's a slight smell of mold, chiefly inside the bathroom. Overall the hotel is recommended!
Nice place. Quite and cozy!
I stayed for one night in this typical mountain hotel and had a wonderful time. The owners were kind and helpful, and the food, both for breakfast and lunch, was plentiful and delicious, especially the desserts, which I found exceptional. The rooms could use some maintenance, but it's passable for one night, even though they were very clean and quiet at night. Overall, I had a wonderful time and I'm giving it an extra star for the musical welcome, as De André is perfect for any occasion. I hope to return soon, because the magic of Camaldoli will captivate your heart.
Nice place for hiking. I'd have used my tent on the camping place if it wasn't suddenly so cold and windy outside (drop of 20°C in one day, didn't that coming). The staff was friendly and helpful. They even offered me a deal with dinner and breakfast given the situation, which is nice from them. The room was cozy and more than enough for 2 nights (bed and bathroom were alright). Also the street was very quiet, so no disturbance at night or even the evening. However the building is not soundproof at all and I could hear clearly until 10pm people talking in the restaurant, sometimes even with the radio on. Given the pilgrims staying there for the night, that was really noisy at some times in the evening, almost like a party, making me regret I couldn't use my tent. But after 10pm it was suddenly quiet and perfect for sleep. The dinner's menus were uneven. The mushroom menu was great, but the hunter's menu was really lacking vegetables, and the ratio meat/polenta was really unbalanced with not enough polenta. It was tasting good but the plate was mostly just meat (good thing there were bread). I guess next time I'd make my own menu. Breakfast was mostly sweetness, with lot of home made tarts. Otherwise there are cereals and one plate of ham and cheese. The apples were a nice addition. It would have even be better if there were other local fruits like pears and peaches. And even better if there were more salty options, like eggs and a little variety in meats and cheeses. Wifi was a bit unstable but enough for simple browsing. The shower was strangely limited in temperature. It wasn't cold but the maximum was like 36°C (I'm used to 40°C hot showers to relax). Outside the old forest was wonderful, and with the strong wind that day the old road to Eremo was bewitching, almost eerie. Very recommended walk. Overall good experience but with room for improvement.
The room was charming with the old wooden furniture and breakfast was good. The only thing to avoid is the half pension. There is an extra charge on most dishes which comes as a surprise as it is not…
