Trattoria La Gargotta è un ristorante superlativo. Ci sono stato a cena con 4 amici. Abbiamo mangiato di tutto, menù classico toscano/fiorentino: antipasto toscano classico, primo (tagliolini al tartufo), secondo (rosticciana alla brace) con contorni (spinaci saltati e patate al forno) e caffè. Tutto MOLTO BUONO. Dall’inizio alla fine. Servizio lievemente impacciato, hanno confuso la bottiglia che avevamo ordinato, con un’altra più costosa. Il titolare personalmente, avendocela già aperta, si è scusato e ce l’ha offerta allo stesso prezzo di quella ordinata. Veramente molto gentile. (Ad oggi non tutti lo farebbero) Locale situato sui colli fiorentini, appena fuori città, con splendida terrazza che affaccia sulla città, l’interno molto bello e caratteristico. Consiglio caldamente di venirci a mangiare.

Questa è una vera trattoria toscana che sa offrirti il meglio del suo territorio al giusto prezzo, inoltre il loro terrazzo, regala uno dei panorami più belli su tutta la città di Firenze. Il cibo è di ottima qualità, l'ambiente molto curato e il titolare è un vero signore che fa sentire le persone a proprio agio e che tu invoglia a tornare.

Ristornate buonissimo! Mai mangiato così bene! Consigliatissimo. Unico rammarico non aver provato la fiorentina perché abbiamo scelto il peposo e la tartare. Io non credo di aver mai assaggiato una carne così buona. Complimenti!!!!

I’m on a road trip and have found it hard to find genuinely great restaurants. So many tourists will rate anything highly which makes it hard to differentiate. But this is genuinely one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. The pasta primo course was so incredible that I actually teared up. I had the rabbit main course which was fantastic, but instead of a dessert I had no choice but to have another pasta dish. This time with truffle. The restaurant itself is filled with locals. This is as far from a tourist trap as you can get. Despite my being a tourist. Well in suppose I can always come back! I could only find one negative. The menu is printed in small italic text with quite a few terms that have no direct English translation. That makes it challenging to know what’s on offer as Google Translate can’t really pick out the text clearly. But perhaps this is a sneaky trick for keeping tourists away! 11/10.

Traveled all through south of France and now Tuscany…this restaurant was the best overall food and experience. Amin the chef who is also a gracious host topped off the entire experience. The Filet brought me to tears. No kidding. His pork cheek truffle appetizer was so good I wanted to order it again for dessert. View and setting is idyllic and atmosphere is magical but with a warm family embrace. We will back.

Just wow! What a view. And some of the best meat we've ever had. The Fiorentina was perfectly cooked and the quality was great! Also good wine. And price very reasonable. Service was super! Only the lighting in the evening was a bit "strong" which is why the atmosphere is only 4 stars. Very popular place, we arrived on a Monday evening and it was almost completely full. La Gargotta is an excellent place for a diner getaway. The owner is an Albanian who is simply a great host. I am from Serbia and I asked him if he had some strong apéritif, and he gave me a truly fantastic raki from Albania. One of the best I ever tasted. The food was also fantastic. Great experience. Right outside of Florence, with a beautiful view - this place is A MUST for their terrace from spring through fall! We were here at the beginning of March, we sat in the sun and had the loveliest meal. Highly recommended are the prosciutto and carciofoni antipasto and the tagliata di manzo with rosmarino. We will definitely be back for the delicious-looking, generosity-sized portions of pasta and the pleasant service.

We went this evening, Monday. It was a quiet evening. Ordered the Pecorino Cheese Platter with Honeys, it was incredible. The owner, who is absolutely phenomenal, (I'll get more to that) explain each cheese and honey as well as pair us a nice wine with our main course, Bistecca Fiorentina. The cheeses were incredible, creamy, flavorful and aromatic in the best ways. Then came the Steak Fiorentina, the owner came out with the steak pre-cooked to show it off and to show just how tender the meat was. This was far and away the best Steak we have ever tasted, just amazing beyond words. Then, after our meal he wanted to show us the view of Florence at night from the patio, but first he gave us homemade Limoncello shots. After seeing the view from the patio, he then attempted to get us a taxi, but taxis did not want to come out there at that time. After multiple attempts to get a cab for us he then said, "come this way". We followed and he took us to his car, where he then offered to take us back to our hotel. Just unbelievable kindness. This restaurant is an absolute GEM of Tuscany, owned by one of the nicest men I have had the pleasure meeting. Cannot say enough kind words. A truly one of a kind experience. Grazi Mille!!!

We wanted to find a genuine Tuscan restaurant outside of the tourist traps of Florence... and we hit the jackpot! We arrived around 9pm and were welcomed by a lovely man named Robert. He turned out to be the chef and owner of the establishment. We ordered Florentine style steak and a bottle of house wine. The restaurant was charming and wholesome. Robert himself brought the steak and cut it at the table. Cooked to perfection. Even the sides (potatoes, zucchini blossoms, artichokes) were incredible. I can say that it was one of, if not the best meal I have ever had. When it was all done and we were completely full, Robert prepared us a spread of desserts which were equally amazing. Dark chocolate fondant cake with caramelized orange peels and phenomenal cheese cake with blackberry jam. Absolutely heavenly. The meal was very reasonably priced as well for what we received. Do yourself a favor and skip the tourist trap Americanized restaurants in downtown Florence... take a 20 minute drive and enjoy the genuine Tuscany style cooking that Trattoria La Gargotta provides. You will not be disappointed.

Had a lovely meal here! We ordered the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina, roasted potatoes and Chianti Classico. The steak was cook over a fire and was done so - Perfectly. The roasted potatoes were soft on the inside but crunchy and well-cooked on the outside. The Chianti was one of the best I had in Tuscany. It was almost like a dream. We met lovely people, had amazing food and will go back again as soon as we can.

Una buona trattoria. Mi era stata consigliata perché considerata più economica rispetto alle trattorie più centrali di Firenze. In realtà i prezzi erano allineati con quelli della città. Sicuramente buona la qualità delle materie prime e dei prodotti ma i piatti non rispettavano le aspettative. Il tortino di verdure era più carico di pane che di verdure. Ho inoltre ordinato un Peposo che, anche se gustoso, non era propriamente quello che mi aspettavo poiché poco affine al piatto tradiziononale senza salsa di pomodoro. Comunque ringrazio per la cortesia di chi ci ha seguito nel servizio.

La tavolata da una trentina di persone è stata anche gestita bene dal cameriere, ma è risultato poco professionale non segnare i piatti che venivano chiesti, ripetendoli almeno 3 volte. Il cibo è di qualità, in linea con le trattorie rustiche, vino della casa accettabile, pochissimo pane dato e piatti arrivati molto per conto loro, senza una precisa logica. Abbiamo lasciato che gli antipasti venissero scelti dal caposala così come i contorni per i secondi. La cosa allucinante del pranzo è stato il fatto che sono arrivati una quantità esagerata di contorni (per far lievitare il conto) e sono state portate almeno 6 porzioni di fagioli non richieste. A conclusione abbiamo pagato 55€ a testa senza vedere lo scontrino totale del tavolo. Prezzo troppo alto per quello che abbiamo consumato. Non consigliato, ci sono molte altre trattorie migliori
