Tip: The gyro is a must-try, but consider skipping the "super gyro" unless you want a large portion of just meat. Eat in to avoid soggy pita.

Opinions de Yiassoo Campbell
A no non- sense dining experience. Food tasted great! Service was quick and I went during a busy lunch hour. Very positive experience!
Amazing tasty falafel wraps. They are extremely tasty and made to your liking. This place has some outdoor seating which is pretty nice compared to the indoors!! The falafel is really tasty and the wrap comes with falafels, tomatoes lettuce and cucumbers. Definitely worth a try! The fries are good too!!
This is a great local restaurant with quality food. I go here often for lunch and sometimes for dinner. They use a gyro spinner and cut the meat fresh when you order and heat it up on the grill too. They also sell beer and wine.
Good customer service and food quality.
For quite some time, I have been dining at Yiassoo on Bascom avenue regularly and the quality of the food is always at the highest level. It's delicious and authentic, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. As one of the few places which has been around at the same location for at least two decades, the record speaks for itself. A hidden gem 💎
Cute little restaurant, unpretentious, casual but charming, sweet staff, reasonable price, fantastic food! We get take-out once a week, usually chicken salad, chicken souvlaki rice plate or lamb souvlaki rice plate and a baklava. Highly recommend!
This place is pretty good. Somehow I think the food is better at the other location. Maybe it's just me though. Either way you can't go wrong.
Really tasty food. Had the super gyro sandwich , she had the falafel sandwich and we split fries. Very good. Service is very good. Place is very clean. Support this small business!
Chicken souvlaki plate with rice (or fries) is my go-to meal here, comfort food for sure! Do yourself a favor and get the white dressing, and then apply it to everything. The hummus is also very good.
The gyros sandwiches are excellent. One thing to improve on is to go orders should be in paper bags. The plastic bags make everything soggy and wet.
My favorite Greek restaurant in San Jose,my family loves the chicken slavaki, I love the lamb slavaki with garlic fries. Sandwich only is good if you wanna eat a lite meal, but plate comes with a fresh, flavorful tomato salad, great prices, clean restaurant, excellent service.
Their food is still as good as ever. Have been coming here for years. Had dinner again here and I still love their salads. All their meals are great. They haven't failed yet. The food is still very good. Very healthy too.
The gold standard for gyros. Everything here is always the same, amazing. Been that way since I first stepped in the place some 20 odd years ago. Finally tried something other than their gyros. The veggie plate is delicious.
I’m usually very anxious trying new places, but yiassoo ended up being a pleasant experience! We ordered take out and they were quick, friendly, and the food was SO good. I’ll definitely be going back!
Best Gyro in town!!! Way better than Opa or Nick the Greek. I don't recommend those spots. This place is a real deal local Greek joint with great food!
One of the best places for Mediterranean food. Prices are very reasonable. Service is great, almost like fast food speed. I ordered Chicken Souvlaki with fries. Chicken was very tender and tasty. Fries were extremely good. Place gets busy during lunch. In spite of that service was very quick. Very impressed with quality of food and service.
Every meal here is amazing. Even the fries and their hummus is my favorite hummus Update: now that I've moved out of town, i enjoy this meal even more when I get to come here! Delicious every time!
Casual spot for great Greek food. Well priced and good portions. The chicken souvlaki plate with rice & side of falafel is delicious!
The chicken souvlaki was great, especially with the garlic house dressing, which was fantastic! The falafel was okay, it had a bit too much tahini (or a similar ingredient) for our taste. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Surprising find in San Jose. I have driven by this restaurant for years never knowing what it was. It was not until another long term resident strongly recommend it that I stopped in and tried it. Great family feel with quality ingredients. Great food and a fair price. Good portions.
My son in law recommended this place to us for great Greek food and he was right We ordered takeout for seven people service was great food was excellent. Will be returning here when we crave Greek food. Two thumbs up! It's a small place with parking in back
Always delicious, great for take out especially, and I always get a good attitude at the cash register. We like to get a super gyro sandwich and a side of hummus and then split everything for dinner. Sometimes we unpack our gyro onto more veggies that we have at home (lettuce tomato cucumber)
The moussaka and super gyro platters are delicious and the portions are huge (enough for leftovers for another meal). We tried their chicken soup which was also very good. The service is friendly and fast
Very impressed. Great find. Authentic Greek. Large fries perfectly cooked. Generous sauces. Nice size falafel nicely cooked. Big chunks of fresh vegs in salad. Very nice staff. Clean. Good menu. Nice location just south of Whole Foods.
These guys have the best Gyros around! I love this place. Good service, wait is usually not too long, and good atmosphere. I like sitting out on the patio watching people and traffic go by. Food is tops, and good portions too. I go back all the time.
The food was fantastic :) The service was really kind and we felt very comfortable in the environment. I ordered the Falafel dish and forgot to ask if it had seeds in it (which I can't digest) and without charging me (although I offered to pay) they changed my plate after it was already made. I changed it to the half chicken plate and it was amazingly delicious. I'll definately be back again!! 5 stars!
So good every time! The greek fries with gyro meat is amazing and plenty to share. Gyros and gyro salad are also the best in town. Family owned and operated. Always a good choice.
This crew seriously knows how to turn out a lunch service! The food is so fresh and they really work hard to be as efficient as possible when it's busy. This is a great spot for some fresh and warm Mediterranean dishes with good prices and large portions.
Love the outdoor patio vibe here. I was driving up Bascom looking for a late lunch spot that wouldnt make me feel gross and mad at myself for eating. As soon as I saw Yiassoo on the right my heart smiled. Super chicken souvlaki, no onions. Hit the spot. This place rocks!
Excellent Greek food! It's on the expensive side, especially since they charge you for (small) portions of extra sauce. But it has the home made quality feeling that you won't get from the larger chains.
The food is good and tasty. I usually have #1 and the portion is just right for my lunch. I enjoy my meal with house made sauce and delicious hot sauce. This place has been here a long time for a reason.
Really good Greek food jn Campbell. I love this place if only they had pizza.
The first time I came here was back in 2003 when I worked in Campbell. The food has always been consistently good as it was back then and it still is now. I've ordered many things off the menu and never been disappointed. They are very fast prepare your order and serve it up. The Greek salad is excellent. Everything is very very fresh. The tomatoes are fresh, chopped, the cucumber is freshly chopped. You can tell right away that it's very fresh. Highly recommended.
Solid Greek food. I ordered a salmon salad. Delicious, warm, moist, grilled salmon on top of a bed of cool, crisp salad. Lovely outdoor seating on a beautiful day was the cherry on top!
Best Greek food ever. Don’t sleep on this place.
We have been eating at this restaurant for over 30 years. The food is the best around. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We eat there often. Highly recommended for casual dining.
Best Gyros I’ve ever had and I always come back! I recently moved to Southern California but visit my parents and always have to get some when i come back! Please open a location in Orange County in Southern California!! ^^ it would be a hit!
Excellent customer service and good food.
The greek salad was delicious and a huge portion. I couldn't finish it. The chicken was well seasoned and hot, fresh from cooking. Very easy to dine-in - just order, grab a number, sit down, and food is delivered to table. Quick an easy, perfect place to eat on a lunch break.
My favorite place. Love the chicken and lamb kabobs. Always good and alot on your plate.
Go to Greek spot for gyros! Can't go wrong with the combo plate where you get the cucumber & tomato salad and fries or rice. Love the salad dressing! The Mousaka is also a gem! Been coming here a long, long time and it never disappoints
Great tasting authentic and freshly prepared Greek food. Order at the counter and served at your table.
I’m writing this as I’m wolfing down the best freshest gyro salad I have had in a while. I happened to walk by and knew this was authentic when I heard everyone speaking Greek. Excellent food and I’m sad I live far away else I would be back for more. Give this legit place a try!
I have come here a few times. They are family run, and the food was great. My lamb souvlaki was cooked perfectly while my girlfriend's gyro salad was very pleasing. I have not had a bad experience here.
Great food. The food quality was even better on this last trip than previously. I always thought the Cupertino one was slightly better, but this last visit was fantastic.
Amazing quality food, on par with Garlic Mediterranean. Got their chicken souvlaki sandwich
Have been living near this restaurant for a while and only just tried it for some reason. Very nice food! Loved it! Ate here two days in a row 😁
One of my favorite gyro joints. The falafel pitas are also fantastic. Service is quick and always made to order.
Stopped by for a quick bite for lunch. Got the gyro sandwich, soooo good! I love the cut of the onions and tomatoes they put inside. The portion is so good for the price. The pita was nice and fluffy, pairing super well with the amount of gyro served in the sandwich. I sat outside on the shaded patio on a beautiful day. Super cute restaurant, I will be coming back to try something else!
If you're looking for some bomb gyro wraps, you have to check out Yiasso in Campbell. I went on a Friday night, there were people eating but no line at the register. You order at the register & they bring you the food. We got 2 gyro wraps, each wrap costs about 13$, an order of fries to share, loukoumades, and a piece of baklava. All in all is was about 43$ The gyro wraps were a hefty size and loaded with meat and other ingredients. I would definitely get it again. Gyro was perfectly thinly sliced and the tzatziki was incredible! The fries were eh, straight from the freezer fries and we all know fresh cut is the best. I would still get them again tho lol Loukoumades (like little greek donuts if you don't know) were so incredible! I feel like it's a rare find so when I saw them on the menu, I knew I had to get and they were delish, crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle! Baklava was incredible too. We went on a Friday night and it was chilly, but they have outdoor seating with fire heaters going which I appreciated. If it was a bit warmer, I would've sat outside! Seating on the inside is standard. All in all, this will be a repeat meal for me!
I regret not reviewing this place earlier. Solid Greek food and my usual goto is the Gyro but a friend of mine recently recommended the salmon. So, today I ordered a salmon salad and I also regret not trying this earlier! Delicious, warm, moist, grilled salmon on top of a bed of cool, crisp salad. Great filling lunch that fueled me through the afternoon! Lovely outdoor seating on a beautiful day was the cherry on top!
I had Yiassoo at their Cupertino location and loved it so much that I went to their Campbell location. It tasted just as good, but the plate did seem a little smaller compared to the Cupertino location but not a big deal. Food came out quickly, staff are super friendly, and lots of parking behind their store, highly recommend if you are craving Mediterranean food!
One of my favorite places to get quick Greek food. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. They have the expected assortment of quick Greek foods and also deserts. The Gyro meat is fantastic. Friendly staff. Great food. Reasonable prices. Indoor and outdoor covered seating. Onsite free parking.
Good quality fresh food and reasonably priced. One of the better casual dining Mediterranean restaurants I've found in the bay area.
Great Greek food, love the pitas and the loukoumades the best! If they would stop chopping the tomatoes so small (it's not the Greek way and it makes for an annoying experience with small pieces constantly falling off while eating) and their fries thinner it would be a 5 star for pitas at their price.
I truly enjoy this place. The food is incredible! The service is typically good, occasionally you get a less than friendly person but the food makes up for those instances. Parking is good and bathrooms are clean which makes me extra happy.
Other Greek food places are okay, but Yiassoo's gyros are the best. We have tried other dishes there too, but we always go back for the gyros. Yum!
Yiasoo's food is good, consistent, and the staff has always been pleasant. The ambiance is closer to a fast food restaurant, but comfortable. I always enjoy the gyro platter and baklava.
No complaints really. The food was significantly better than fast food even though it was served quickly, but maybe not high end sit down meal service either. The person taking our order was polite and helpful as we tried to figure out what we wanted. The closest I can come to a negative is it the pricing maybe was a little bit higher than I would have expected. But this place is definitely worth a visit to make your own opinion.
This is a very good casual lunch place. The service is nice, and their Gyros are also very tasty. They do not hesitate to put a lot of meat in their sandwich which makes them very cost competitive. I have not tried their catering service, but it also seems interesting.
Yummy and filling portions. Seating is usually always available so no issues on that for me. Also outdoor seating option. Staff is friendly and helpful, but it's mainly a place to pick up your own order at the counter and put away your plates after. A bit borderline on whether it's expensive or average prices, but that's probably because it's a product of rising rent/leases for all businesses in San Jose/Campbell.
This is the second time me and my brother ever tried a Greek Restaurant and we made the right choice coming here next. We enjoyed the artstyle of the dining room, having a mix between retro and modern day without to much tech. The food was also seasoned, cooked, and prepared correctly in a homemade manner. While there was no boot or couch seats to sit on while at table spots that were next to walls or windows and they could use a few more beverage choices a the dispenser, we felt like we got our money's worth and had a good time. Please think of checking out Yiassoo someday.
The food is good, but only if you eat it right now, because after a while, the pita bread is soaked and the French fries are soft. In general, the food and dressings taste good as well, the tables are sometimes dirty, and the bathroom is always busy.
As someone who loves a good gyro, the search continues in the Campbell area. DO NOT get the super gyro. You don't need it. It's meat and meat and meat. Not enough anything else. Unless you are trying for specific macros, skip the super. The gyro itself is good, not great. Too little sauce, tomatoes, feta to compensate for the amount of meat in the super. Next time only regular gyro plate and maybe ask for extra tomatoes? Some lettuce? The gyro is far more gyro and pita and very little else. Pita is good. The plate comes with fries and small "salad". Salad is cucumber, tomatoes, olives. Very small. Fries are pretty good, skin on. In my opinion could be cooked for about :30- 1 min. More. And they are unsalted. They are good enough a little flake salt would improve them. All in. Atmosphere is great with outdoor seating that's shaded. Staff was very friendly and the soda (Pepsi) was cold and properly working. 3.5/5
This place has a variety of hearty and light options for Greek food. The Greek fries came with unique flavoring though $5.99 was a squeeze. I recommend trying out the salad options too though don't be surprised if you ordered a plate and the salad turned out less while the rice and meat portions were more substantial.
My brother and I always make a point to go here every time we visit San Jose. We're not sure but it seems a little different from our previous visits. My brother thinks that the meat is a bit bigger, used to be sliced in smaller pieces making the texture better. Still really good and we will be back next time we visit family in the area.
Large portions and good service but recently my combo plate meat was very tough and difficult to cut and chew. Otherwise good restaurant!
The food is mediocre. Ordered chicken souvlaki(with rice). Chicken was pretty bland and rice barely had any flavour. The salad I liked best except the olives have a overripe taste and are super salty. Can't say this is memorable food.
Authentic Greek food — Chicken souvlaki plate with rice Note: if you’re ordering chicken souvlaki it will take 10-15 min wait time to grill. I added an extra chicken… rookie move. Order two skewers at the start. I’ll be coming back but with lack of time constraints.
The Super Gyro plate is a Gyro with some rice in a box. The meat was good well seasoned. But totally drab and unimaginative. Not enough Tzatziki sauce. If you want 5 star Mediterranean go to "Achilles" not that far away.
We ordered ahead for lunch to eat there. When we arrived the food was boxed to go, I politely told the young women at the register we ordered to eat in, she said we didn't. So maybe poor communication on our part but the correct answer would be, no problem, and put the food on plates. There was not one other person in the restaurant. We then sat down and ate our lunches out of to go styrofoam boxes. Not a nice experience that could have been handled differently with just a little effort. 🤔
I've been going to this place on and off and their Gyro portion is small for what they're charging which is fine it is what it is and I'm giving it a 2 star cause of the food itself it doesn't taste that bad compared to some other spots, I'm only upset about the service that every time I order there the girl cashier is always in a bad mood and has an attitude not sure why and instead of her saying Hello, How are you or thank you etc...Just the basic customer service as a respect, I always have to say so and the worse part is they never give out napkins and forks when you order for take out sometimes they ask and sometimes I have to ask! I don't understand the reason for not giving out napkins or why would you even ask if I want one? To save money? How someone supposed to eat? With their hands? I asked her and she put some in my to go bag with an attitude and I left for good this time...
I had the Greek lemon soup. The cream and oil separated after stirring it, I noticed that it wasn't mixing well, but I gave it a try. It wasn't very tasty at all! As soon as I got home, I had an accidental overload in my pants! I had severe food poisoning! Be very careful!
My wife and I are having a stomach ache after eating here. Chicken was cheap/tasteless and sauce was bland. Baklava was stale. Bread was cheap. Rice was cold. Not a great place.
I've been coming here for years and noticed during my latest visit that the price on the menu did not match what I was actually being charged at the register. I was charged ~$3 more than what was on menu. When I asked about it I was told the register price is the price. This happened on the Greek salad, which I would also mention is very small for the ~$15 I was charged for who knows how long.
Extremely disappointed with the “greek fries” ….I mean…look at this picture. Does it even look like real feta cheese??? So disappointing. Do better. Use real feta, not this stuff. Make the cheese more prominent. This picture on the cheese front is well, pathetic. I paid almost $3 extra for this over the regular fries. Is this $3 worth of feta??? No. Is it even real feta??? Skeptical. Possible, but who shreds feta (my advice—use a “crumbled” type of feta). Lamb Gyro was decent, used real lamb as opposed to the typical “gyro” meat you may be accustomed to.
I've been coming here on and off for gyros for couple years after work . Different customer experience everytime. Sometimes great and sometimes really bad . Last time I went for pick-up they gave me a buzzer and I waited over 35 mins for my food . Started to notice other people were getting their food that ordered after me. I went in and realized my order has been sitting on the table for about 20 mins ..cold already. Young girl cashier said "oops" I forgot to turn on your buzzer. She didn't apologize and I was just annoyed by her cluelessness and no attempt to make up for the missed service. Food is already kinda average and late order pushed me to the limit . These guys are off my list and I don't recommend others to come here . Nick the Greek on Stevens Creek is newer , has better service and better food. Good luck !
We have eaten before here and liked it, but todays roasted meat sandwich hit my stomach wrong and I was quite sick for the rest of the day. My husband wanted to take me to a hospital but I was too sick to handle the car ride. We called to report the problem and the manager did not care, saying something else made me ill, however this was the first meal I had eaten today so there was nothing else that could have done it. My stomach reacted very soon after I had eaten half of the sandwich and I spent 8 and a half hours in bed hardly able to move except to go to the bathroom, where my body rejected the food.
My first (and there will be no second) order was via DoorDash--a super pork souvlaki sandwich. The pork was tough, and not even grilled; but had faint tan marks to show that it had been warmed up; nor had it been salted or seasoned in any way. There was very little tzatziki on the sandwich; and rather than crumbled feta there were two short slices of the cheese.
We used to love the food at Yiassoo. This was a few years ago. For takeout tonight, we ordered "falafel sandwich" and "Gyros plate". First, they overcharged (super gyros plate instead or regular), and the food was sub-par: barely any feta cheese in the salad, and nothing tasted fresh. I was hungry but barely ate half of my falafel sandwich. Not sure if there was a change of ownership, but quality is not there anymore. Definitely won't go back.
I've come here at least 10 times, and every time I ask for a specific accommodations to my food, they're never able to make it goes to accommodations.. I spend on average $27 a meal..... And I asked him to make my meal with diced chicken or shredded chicken and every time they give it with blocks of chicken or full chicken. It definitely will not be returning here. Worst servive I've ever had over 20 visits....
