I love that Kirk's was able to take over the old Grill Em building, as it creates a great atmosphere for both groups and families with the indoor and outdoor seating. This is a counter order, deliver to your table establishment which is great for groups, since you don't have to worry about split checks. The serving sizes are plentiful and there is a ton of variety. Their shakes are delicious, but you can also order a soda or something from the bar. There tons of side options, I love the Cajun fries! I'm determined to keep going back ordering something new off the menu every time. 😉🤣

While smashburgers are delicious and all the rage, there's much to be said about a fat, medium-rare, char-grilled burger made from ground sirloin. The burgers here are nearly perfect with a brioche bun and ideal proportions of bun to meat to veggies. High quality beef with great char-grilled marks and flavor--cooked the way you want it. The fries and onion strings are hot, tasty, and crispy as they should be. I love that the burgers come naked, so you can customize to your heart's content with a range of options at the condiment bar. Fast and excellent service even though the place was pretty crowded. The ambience is also great with a full bar, comfortable booths, many TVs, and an outdoor patio.

+ The highlight of the restaurant is the spacious, comfortable table and booth layout with great line of sight to huge, modern TVs. The restaurant must have been recently renovated and was very clean near closing time. + Beer and cocktail selection is good. + Burgers were overall decent, however I was surprised to find my 1/2lb Burger served with an Italian bread bun. That's kind of sacrilegious. + Price-wise it's a good value considering the location. + Very nice staff, overall a friendly neighborhood vibe.

Kirk’s Steakhouse is our go-to spot after a hike, and for a good reason! The spot is old fashioned and serve some of the best burgers in town. We tried the Steak Burger Bowl, which was a great (and healthier) option if you’re watching your diet. We also had the Blue Cheese Burger, Jalapeño Cheddar, and Mushroom Swiss Burger, and every single one was fantastic. The flavors were spot on, the ingredients fresh, and the burgers cooked to perfection. Their fries are fantastic too! We got both sweet potato fries and regular fries, and they were crispy and delicious. Plus, their prices are fair and not expensive, making this spot even better. If you’re craving a great burger and fries, this is the place to be! Highly recommend!

Burgers are awesome here. Tater tots were freshly fried so extra crispy. Love the self serve service which makes the place feel nice and casual. Also like the self serve condiments station which has plenty of options. Only down side is the menu pricing isn't correct so was in for a surprise at the extra cost of the fried egg I ordered for my burger. The menu that customers see should be the most up to date one. You shouldn't just update the register charge but not the hard copy menus or the digital display. Also, feel like a slice of cheese shouldn't be considered as a premium topping that requires extra charge.

Wow, just wow! Stopped in last night at the new location across the street and was blown away by the ambiance, how much fun and exciting this place is and of course their world famous steak burgers. I had a steak burger on sliced sourdough and it had the famous, signature Kirk's barbecue taste leaving me fully satisfied and glad I went. I've been driving by the new location for several months now and hadn't had a chance to check it out so last night we grabbed some dinner there and really enjoyed ourselves. There's TVs on every wall, there's booths, regular tables, there's several bar style tables, there's outside dining, they did really nice job when they made this over. The food was fresh, tasty and the environment was great, the service was great, I will definitely go back and highly recommend you come check it out..

Really glad this place got a new lease on life. Affordable, friendly, quick, and tasty. …plus they have parking, a large patio , and many TVs like a sports bar. My wife enjoyed a big mudslide, my kid got a shake, and we all enjoyed the burgers. We’ll be back.

Kirk’s has the look and feel of a local joint with signed memorabilia of Bay Area teams on the walls and friendly staff. The parking lot is a bit narrow but they’ve got a good amount of parking. They also have an outdoor patio and a dog menu! What was ordered: + Bases loaded - the tots were fried well and not too greasy and worked well with the chili con carne. Makes me want to try the chili cheese fries on my next visit. + single 1/3 steak burger w/ grilled onions - this was a good, simple burger with no frills. I do wish the buns were toasted a bit but it was a solid burger. They also ask how you prefer your burger cooked! I opted for medium which worked out well for me. The dining area is split where there’s a self service side and a table service side. There were no more self service tables when we arrived so we went with table service and honestly, a great experience. Max helped take our order and was very attentive. He’d check in on us time to time and even brought us refills on our soda without us asking. Would recommend checking them out if you haven’t already.

The burgers are good and very large. The garlic fries are top notch. Some of the best I've had in the bay area. Inside is like a bar type atmosphere with many sports games and leather booths. Food was incredibly quick when we ate in. Usually we just order out.

We went to this place to try out some of American burgers and right from entering it had a full sports bar setup. Most of the people on a week day were old American enjoying their food with their friends and family. We got the jalapeño cheddar burger and my friend got smokehouse burger. We got the well done 1/3 pound meat. I am surprised they had a half pound and a full pound burger…flabbergasted. The food was fresh and the meat was tender and melted in my mouth. I loved the way they had an entire jalapeño fried in the burger which gave a spicy kick to the burger. Additionally we go their fries and I was happy that it was not the same as we get in the fast food chain. The potatoes were cut to thick slices and deep fried and they were crispy unlike most food chain that uses processes pre cut potatoes. Overall I was happy and would highly recommend this place to hang out with friends and family.

Was in SJ for a meeting and felt the urge for a burger. I found Kirk's online and decided to check it out, and I'm so glad I did. I found the parking behind the restaurant and entered through the back door. Immediately, I was pleased. I saw the bar to my right and the restaurant to my left. All I could think was this place had that old school charm and a slight last century edgienus it. We sat in a booth in the back, surrounded by Bay Area sports memorabilia. The food was delivered to us very quickly. We had a couple burgers and an order of tater tots. The burgers were big enough and tasty enough. Not outrageously delicious but very good. The tater tots, we're an 7/10. I definitely recommend coming here for the old school charm and welcoming staff.

Yummy ☆☆☆Update☆☆☆ Since they moved locations, the food is still on point, the portions have gone down a tad, and the prices have too, but that's too be expected since they now have a larger building and a full bar. I like the fact that they have a seating area where you can have a server. The atmosphere is very welcoming and perfectly lit, not like when it was Grill Em. Glad they suck around.

Kirk's SteakBurgers at the new location offers plenty of parking, especially during busy lunch hours. The food quality ranged from okay to impressive; the jalapeño cheddar turkey burger with tots stood out with a perfect 5/5🌟, while the Steak burger bowl disappointed slightly at 3.5/5🌟 compared to its menu depiction. The steak burger was cooked well so maybe just a preference things. However, the chili cheese fries were a solid 4.5/5 🌟 lots of cheese which is my preference. Inside, despite the absence of windows, the spacious seating and numerous TVs create a comfortable atmosphere, complemented by a full bar. Ordering is straightforward at the counter, and your food is brought to you, while beer pickup is at the bar. Additionally, the ample outdoor seating adds to the dining options. Overall, a varied experience with standout dishes and a cozy but dark ( no windows) indoor setting. I suppose I had too high hopes. The burger was alright, maybe a little too charbroiled (for a medium burger). The fries are cooked too much and taste mediocre. However, the bowl of chili was a huge bummer. For $5, we were expecting a decent size bowl. Instead we got a condiment size bowl of lukewarm chili! Literally when it says a cup of chili, it is 1 cup in size for $5. And it wasn’t even homemade, it’s like a cheap canned chili. I had too much hopes for this place, with its legacy. Customer service was great, but my mom felt bad about saying anything about the chili. The burger and fries were disappointing for the price and taste. I would come back to watch sports as there are a million screens, a great bar, and an absolutely fantastic shake at a great value at $7. I guess I’ll keep going to Red Robin, they have incredible burgers and include free unlimited thick steak fries that aren’t overcooked.
