Opinions de Bravo's Tacos Campbell
This place is nostalgic for me and all my friends from my school days. Been coming here as long as I can remember. They are always friendly and the food is more consistent than any place I’ve known. It’s basically mandatory (maybe against the law not to!) to buy a classic Taco Bravo taco. Get whatever else you want along with it, but order a taco. Trust me on this. I apologize. I’ll never have a photo to go along with a review of this place because I may eat it before I sit down. I did get a picture of the sign! You’re welcome.
Ok so this place I've been going to since I was 8 my grandpa was very good friends with the owner Dennis who passed away last year god rest his soul.🙏🏻♥️ BUT MAN WHEN I TELL YOU there food is so simple but bomb! And the workers there are awesome! Also it was a pleasure meeting Dennis son recently coming here! He's got a awesome tattoo of the place what a better way to keep his dad alive!!♥️♥️♥️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I miss them being in Fremont so we have to take the drive once in a while for the teenager nostalgia feel. I love their taco salad and their bravo taco.
This establishment is incredible with their food, prices and service. You cannot go wrong, going to Taco Bravo. Whether it's your first date or years of being together. I rarely get gas from their food! I'm telling you, you have to try them. If you are not happy, then join the 2% of those who don't care for their awesome food! Oh, btw, I almost forgot...You have got to try their salsa! 5 stars!!! (They are known for this.) Enjoy!!!!
Honestly the tacos here are really good. I honestly don’t know what makes them so much better than Taco Bell or other crunchy taco shops. Maybe it’s the hard shell that doesn’t break after one bite, maybe it’s the meat that is seasoned well but not greasy. Perhaps it’s the generous amount of meat, cheese and lettuce. The sauce is Hella good!
Taco Bravo shockingly still a good place for a huge non-authentic burrito, nacho, taco or tostata. Kitchen is clean, employees are fine. Always busy after ten pm until one am Fri and Saturday nights. Simple menu works for this place. This place has been around for almost 40 years!
Love this place! Just had an amazing bean burrito 🌯. Awesome customer service.
Taco bravo is iconic do I have noticed post-pandemic they have cut back on the amount of beef and cheese they put in their tacos. But I totally understand why. I still love the tacos and never pass up an opportunity to grab a couple. The staff are great, the owner is awesome, & we will keep going there until I die or they close.
Tuesday Tostada Day, $1.49 huge bean and cheese tostada's which are like what Taco Bell used to be in the 1970s. Thursday Taco Day $1.49 huge loaded delicious tacos with insane amounts of beef and cheese. And their hot sauce is awesome. All in all, super white people style Mexican fast food with many Hispanic fans as well.
This place is extremely generous with cheese and meat! Tacos and other items are stuffed. It’s like a better version of Taco Bell, but with a smaller menu selection. Only ground beef and chicken are offered as this is American food, not authentic Mexican. Great longtime staple in the area. Fremont location closed years ago.
Taco bravo is not a place to get real tacos. The prices are a little high, I tend to only come on Thursdays for "taco thursday" where they sell $1.29 tacos. They are good, and satisfying, as long as you know what you are coming for. The tacos they have are Americanized. Nachos are tasty too, tip- always order the chips on the side.
Great Tacos with real beef and lots of cheese! Come on Taco Thursday and get them for half price! Only $1.99! They are open till 3am on Thursday - Saturday.
My favourite tacos from all over the world . I had to wait 16 years and travel 3000 miles to have these tacos again! Worth the wait and worth the road traveled. The seasoning is simply amazing. Straight forward menu. Hasn't change in 40 something years. Friendly staff. If there is one meal that I would love to take with me anywhere in the world that would be taco bravo. Good things come to those who wait. Amen.
I have showed up here just before they close at 3am and the service has been top notch every time. The portions of food you get for the price you pay are far better than almost anywhere I've been. This has become one of my favorite places. They're totally consistent as well. I once showed up during the day and met the owner himself who was also working the window and made my food. I thought maybe the night crew might be just more generous at making fat portions of food but no. Apparently the owner trained them that way cause I got exactly the same service from him. He not only was incredibly nice but he made my food exactly as I had gotten used to from the night crew. They load you up there. That's just the way it is. I'll support places like this forever. They deserve my business. I'll tell everyone just cause places like this are rare and we need more of them.
Best burrito spot, food is ready instantly
Still the best tacos anywhere! Always fresh and tons of cheese. Enchiladas are also awesome. The food here is very filling. Well worth the drive and the price. Update: Still awesome! I try to come here every Tuesday
Taco Bravo has been a go-to for me for almost 20 years. The menu is essentially unchanged, but when you are good at something, there's a certain logic in staying focused on it. If I'm not getting the burrito supreme, it's the mini super nachos, which is still enough to feed two people. (I remember the days *before* that was on the regular menu!) I think their it in their red sauce. It is a smoky chipotle-like flavor the is more smoke than spicy hot. No one I've ever brought there has complained about either quality or quantity of food in their order. They offer great value for the prices. Go there. Eat. Be happy.
I always make my family go here when I visit! Really good comfort food. Also taco Thursday is awesome! But oh that line. Worth it to me! Wish there were more of them. This food reminds me of how taco bell used to make me feel as a kid.
Taco Bravo was excellent, always is! Always leave satisfied and with a belly full of delicious food. This place is never stingy when it comes to the ingredients that it uses such as lettuce, cheese, and meat. A no brainer when it comes to old school Taco Bell style food! Taco Bravo is the best! Would easily drive 100 miles to eat here.
Taco Bravo was as delicious as usual. Been eating there for years, and right now they are having their $0.99 tacos. Don't miss out on adding one of those to your order, you will love it. The BEST Burritos anywhere
Taco Bravo has been unchanged for decades, thank you. Tacos have huge amounts of beef and cheese. You think you can eat maybe 4 or 5 soft tacos at the big Bell place? Just two soft tacos here is way plenty. Also get some hot sauce. It seems homemade and unique. Spicy, but not stupid hot. Bravo!!! 🌮🌮🌮
Taco Bravo has been a staple for all-day eats. Especially late night eats ! Tuesdays they have a special on tostadas and Thursdays a special on tacos. I usually go on Thursdays or Tuesdays. They put a lot of meat and toppings on their food. Their taco sauce is awesome as well. I've been going to Taco Bravo for over 40 years.
We moved away but make Taco Bravo a must visit when in the area. Dennis will be missed but Sean has carried on. Foods are always good, plentiful, and tastes like 1982. Don't ever change TB! I have never had their chicken options but would take a bullet for the seasoned beef and salsa.
I've been eating at Taco bravo since the very early '80s, maybe late '70s, love their food and the overall experience. You come here for nostalgia sake asking with good tacos and burritos. My favorite of course is the super Taco delight, if you ask them they'll change the frijoles on the tortilla for nacho cheese sauce before they wrap two shells stuff it with chicken or beef, lettuce tomatoes and cheese before they top it with sour cream, absolutely love their super taco delight it by itself is a whole meal or more. Their tostadas, burritos and regular tacos are so much better than every other Mexican fast food restaurant. It's not sexy, but it's safe, dependable and a good value especially on Taco Tuesday or tostada Thursday. You have to get down here and experience this for yourself, its a little slice of heaven and a hometown Campbell gem
Being raised here, this was a constant. Now I come by every time I visit from Sac. My wife who I brought here 1 time, now demands it on every trip. In fact she's paying the price right now for eating a Tostada, Burrito, and Taco all at once. 🤣🤣🤣
Really enjoyed my tostada. So hard to find them these days. The toppings were fresh and the shredded lettuce crispy. The red sauce has a really nice rich flavor as well. Highly recommend! The service was super quick. Had our food in less than 5 minutes of our order. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Sitting is outside, so we took our food to go. Will definitely be back!
I have been coming to this establishment since I was about 9 or 10 yrs old and I am 58 yrs old now...service is great, very nice family and the meat is real meat.
It's been a year since I visited San Jose. One of my stops was Taco Bravo. They are still friendly and the food was incredible. The tacos are overflowing with meat and cheese. The burritos are a great value and delicious. The only negative was the homeless guy yelling at his imagery buddy. We don't have that problem in Arizona. But that is not the fault of Taco Bravo. If I didn't have my family there, it would have easier to ignore.
Always a quick and delicious meal. The tostada and bean burrito are my favorite!
I had the taco salad and my hubby had super burrito we both chose chile verde as the meat. The hot sauce was very good. Food was fresh. No skimping on portions. We also ordered chicken tacos and frijoles to go for grandma and she loved her crispy tacos and the packed them decomposed so they weren’t soggy! Great prices for portions.
The best tacos for decades. Love their taco sauce too!
The tacos are delicious. I had to ding one star for atmosphere for the guy that comes to DJ when his daughter sells Girl Scout cookies. It's not why people come there and I think more people would buy the cookies if he wasn't there. The music choices aren't all bad but it's louder than it needs to be and the guy is a rather bad DJ/MC.
Always hit the spot whenever I eat here. Still my favorite late night local joint and can’t beat the $1.99 Taco Thursdays!
This is old school, stoner food. I imagine most of everything on the menu is exactly as it was over 50 years ago, when they first opened. The staff is excellent, and meeting people in the line is fun, too! I just took a friend today for his first Taco Bravo taco, complete and piled high with cheese. Don't forget to order 'with onions,' if that's your thing!
Always a must when visiting home (San Jose). The food transports me back to a time when fast food didn't mean moderated mediocrity. Huge portions for the price too!
I have been going to Taco Bravo since 1999 in Fremont. I still go to Campbell occasionally. Love the sauce!
Update; Got to go Today for Taco Thursday .. The Tacos were Very Very Delicious 😋.. I enjoyed it. Great price on Tostada Tuesday and looking forward to Taco Thursday
Tacos were excellent! I had the soft taco and it was more meat lettuce and cheese than I had expected! And soda is free for seniors! Service was quick. Plenty of parking when we were the around 730pmish on a Wednesday night!! I will surely go back!
I’ve been going here for over 20 years and it hits every time! The staff is always friendly and they hook it UP in the tacos. Ingredients are always spilling out of the tortilla and they always taste fresh. The prices are great and the service is quick. I recommend this place to everyone I know.
So I haven’t been here since 2012. I went here tonight after over 10 years. I told the ladies here that and they so kindly gave me extra sauces. I literally finished them all. I drank them and loved them LOL. The young lady and older both treated me well. Not only that but I’m vegan. They were SO accommodating and gave me the best. Go!!! Enjoy and eat the amazing lettuce and sauce. Especially if you’re Indian like me hehe. Born and raised in sf and love sauce.
Super old school 70’s 80’s era place with high quality old school style food. Last of a dying species. This is how fast food was 40-50 yrs ago.
For fast and flavorful Mexican food, Taco Bravo is a go-to in Visalia. Known for its quick service and satisfying tacos, burritos, and other classic dishes, it's perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. It's a local favorite for a reliable and tasty Mexican fix.
Ate here 3days in a row. The first day was the first time I tried this place. I drove from Mt. View 3 consecutive mornings, ate till I'm full. Yeah, it's THAT delicious, and totally worth every penny. This place is a local gem, family owned, all ingredients freshly prepared every day, most delicious and much healthier option compared to any other taco shops (I usually get sick after one meal at other taco shops). No wonder why they are the local fav for 40+ year. Will comback to try every menu. Thank you 🙏 Taco Bravo!! 👏👏👏😁😁😁
"TACO BRAVO 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮 THE Best Hadn't Eaten THERE IN YEAR'S Since I Had Moved To Fremont... AND They CLosed The Fremont Location Went AND Ordered Soft Taco's, Bean Burrito 🌯🌯🌯🌯 Etc... Prices Went Up A Bit BUT StiLL HAD THAT DeLicious Taco BRAVO Taste LOVE IT WiLL Be Going Back Soon PEACE 🎇❣️💴🌮🌯🎇❣️💴🌮🌯🎇
Sometimes going to a restaurant is not just about the food, it’s also about the feeling of homeyness. This place is all about the warmth, and hospitality of Shaun. Shaun is like that relative who invites you to share a hearty meal. We had soft tacos loaded with grated cheese that went down well with the pop we had. He gave us a delicious freebie too, a plate of chicken nachos! Thank you, Shaun, we would definitely return!
The food was what I expected. I'm glad this place is still here. It's a bit nostalgic
Really great food and good prices. The only small issue is that sometimes flies like to hang out inside the building where you order your food because of a lack of a door. Not too much of an issue because its separate from the kitchen area but it can get bothersome if you try to eat inside the building and they land on the food. Despite this though Taco Bravo is a really great place to eat and is definitely worth a visit.
Tacos aren't worth their normal price, but on Taco Thursday, they are definitely worth getting at .99. The super taco delight is awesome and definitely worth the price. I think the chicken holds up better then the ground beef. I love chili verde, but for me theirs is bland. The super nachos are excellent
I try not to visit fast food joints too often, but the ex returned the kids late and they were hungry. (Sigh) I hadn't been here for awhile, and 72 cent Thursday is now a few cents more expensive. Ha ha. Portions are great. Cleanliness could improve, but kids love the food. No real inside eating, though when its cold and busy.
The Thursday's ninety nine cents tacos are not bad. The nachos are not generic tasting either. Great late night eating with your favorite joy juices! LOL The staff are also funny, unlike certain places that would make you want to stay away from them. Had drove quite away from Evergreen, San Jose for the meal pick up. Old Taco Bell is really for the ding dongs!
This was my first time trying this place out. I love that it's one of the few places that stays open late. I had the super taco delight. That thing was huge. I should of asked for extra sour cream but other than that it was awesome. LOVE their hot sauce super yummy. If you love cheese this place is great for that.
Nothing has changed in 50 years there. It's is not authentic Mexican food it is authentic Taco Bell kind of Mexican food but it's way better and bigger play Despicable Me
This place is better than Taco Bell. Can't miss Taco Thursdays. Tacos are only $.72. Beware if you go here after 9pm on Thursday, lines are super slow. Super nachos are a great deal as well. The Super nachos will feed a family of 4 because they are so big. If you don't like soggy chips, I suggest you order the chips on the side.
Came here on a Thursday to grab the $1.29 tacos. We came with a group and ordered 30. They were so quick, it was pretty incredible and the tacos were yummy for basic ground beef/cheese in a crunchy shell. Really can't beat it for a quick bite.
Great taco stand. Taco Thurs for 99cent tacos that are actually good. They sell a lot of different TexMex food, but I've only had their tacos and love them. Great deal on non greasy taco. Order at the counter and tacos are usually ready within a minute on Thurs at least. a few stools inside and a few tables outside, nothing fancy, but tacos are great and well worth the buck. If you like the Jack in Crack deep fried tacos, you may not like these fresh ones...
Built in an old Taco Bell building, not too many of these old buildings left, place offers decent fast Mexican food. The Taco salad was just the right amount. Not as great a bargain as it used to be though. A sign of the times I guess.
Taco bravo is one the best places to get crunchy tacos. In my opinion it's much better than taco bell and to top it off they're open late. On Tuesdays they have dollar tostadas and Thursdays they have dollar tacos. You really can't beat that anywhere ! They're a perfect spot to grab you're late night munchies . Big portions at a pretty decent price.
I liked it. Stopped by on my way back from Santa Cruz to sit recites. Grabbed some tacos and really liked it. Pretty basic tacos but that a good price. Like they're salsa!! If you're in the area give them a try.
Always a good choice for tacos, nachos, and burritos. Good for late-night comfort food. A beef burrito (after 10pm) with just beef, onions sauce and cheese, and you'll get over a pound of beef. Taco Delights are delicious, but eat them quick before they get soggy. It's not gourmet food, but they give fresh and generous portions! I'd give 5 stars, but maybe 2 out of 10 visits have been a bit rude and/or sloppy, and prices can be a bit high for four what you get, depending on the items... Pro tip: If you get super nachos to go, ask for chips on the side and you'll get a giant container with all the goodies and bag of chips separately, so they don't get soggy before you eat them and you'll have plenty to share. Everyone I've encountered has been friendly! I'm sure they deal with a lot from late-night customers, so if you're nice to them they'll probably appreciate it!
Roaming the streets while hungry, late at night in Campbell CA can be a disappointment. Not many options besides the grease trap of jack in the box. Taco Bravo turned out to be a beacon of hope. The place looks a bit run down and a little risky, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I happened to show up for Taco Thursday, so the nice lady at the register (after explaining all the different types of tacos to me) tells me how to order what I want to get the best deal. Two tacos with sour cream. The food was actually pretty good! Like 1970s cafeteria good. Decent ingredients, not mass produced, kinda home style feel. I left feeling very happy about my decision....I might even consider going during the day!
Taco Bravo – The Crème de la Crème of Trash Dining In the ever-growing decision to get trash, we proudly bring you another episode of Trash Dining—and today’s featured dive is none other than Taco Bravo. It’s always the same late-night crossroads: gas station wings and a crusty taquito… or Taco Bravo. And let’s be honest—Taco Bravo is the crème de la crème of trash dining. No contest. A San Jose staple, this spot doesn’t pretend to be fancy. It exists for one reason: to feed you when the sun’s down and your standards are even lower. The legendary taco + bean burrito combo wrapped together like some stoner-engineered delicacy? Still hits. Add that watery hot sauce that somehow pulls the chaos together, and you’re golden. The food? Greasy. Cheesy. Possibly a dare. The fries? Sad, salty, and addictively limp. The vibe? Peak 90s Taco Bell energy mixed with gas station charm. Taco Bravo isn’t good—but it’s GOOD. A certified hood classic. A love letter to poor decisions. And somehow, it never misses.
Was disappointed...the quality was not the same as it used to be and the prices where surprisingly high...I loved this place when I was young 30 yrs ago...had higher expectations...
Been forever since I’ve eaten here, wasn’t sure what to expect. Sure, it’s an after-drinking destination but I went for lunch. Even on Taco Thursday the tacos are hefty compared to that other taco place, packed full of meat and cheese and not much lettuce to get in the way. An incredible deal at less than a third its regular price! The beef was well seasoned and the shells stayed crunchy the whole drive home. The bean burrito was enormous…I couldn’t finish it. Should keep and reheat well. Flavor was good; needed a healthy glug of sauce though. It won’t replace my sorely missed Del Taco in Campbell but I’m happy these guys are still around. Go on a Thursday
Food-wise, this place is more of a 3 star restaurant to me, but I have a special appreciation for Taco Bravo's iconic status in the area. I have a specific memory of going here with my dad almost 30 years ago, and it has probably been around for much longer. I would hate to hear one day that this place went under, though it would be nice if they upped their food game a little, considering all the competition they probably face from the area's many good taquerias.
Authentic and good value. I have eaten there or from there several times. I can't get enough of their hot sauce. That alone is worth the visit.
Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the fact that it's not a 5 star restaurant. This place has been here literally forever. The food is still what I remember from the 80s. Tasty, reasonably priced and large servings. For Mexican style fast food this is the place, the bell sucks.
Pretty good. Came late on a Sunday night. They have 99¢ taco & tostada Tuesdays. They also have a $5 minimum for credit cards. The super taco is basically an extra long taco with ground beef or chicken, lettuce, tomato, and a bunch of shredded cheese. The enchilada is a chicken enchilada covered in cheese and sauce. Their medium spiciness brownish salsa is real tasty too. I put a good amount on my enchilada and I wasn’t disappointed. I highly recommend the chicken over the ground beef as the chicken was really tasty, juicy, and tender. The ground beef wasn’t good even half as flavorful in my opinion.
Very quick food I saw the kitchen right in front of me they just damping in and rolling no taste sorry
Decided to try out Taco Bravo to break the pattern of my usual Mexican food joints. Was left disappointed with the end product. Ordered the Super Taco Delite that ended up having bland beans & meat sauce, too much cheese and not properly heated. On the plus side, the cost was affordable and service quick but I'm sure it's not worth the blandness that was served.
Food came out fast but the food doesn’t taste the same as it used to. Very little flavor in the taco meat & they barley put cheese. Also, I ordered a bean & cheese burrito & my tortilla wasn’t cooked at all and wasn’t even folded into a burrito. Beans tasted sour as well. Whole burrito was cold. Very disappointed because i have been going to taco bravo since they were in fremont. Sad to say I won’t be coming back any time soon. thank you.
Ordered a super burrito and a soft taco. The "super" burrito came with only beef and cheese. The cashier even asked mild or spicy, and there was no salsa whatsoever.
If there was a negative rating I’d give it. WORST MEXICAN FOOD EVER! Overpriced. Rude staff (said they had no salt, seriously?). Immediately started feeling like throwing up, zero taste, zero flavour. You’re better off going to a local taco shop or even Taco Bell! Even charged a service fee for no real service. They are so bad that they even messed up the easiest thing to make - the salsa!
Terrible service, the workers are rude and the food is not fresh. The service is less than one star
Possibly the worst late night tacos and burritos I’ve ever had
Bought some tacos for myself and a couple friends, we all ended up sick. First started with tingling in the face area, and continued to get worse. One sign of food poisoning! The workers don’t care what they serve to people, very dirty. Will never go back to the Bravo.
I have a lot of love for local places, and I do enjoy taco bravo in general. I can say, however the super nachos are super nasty. I ordered them tonight and I've got to say they tasted like something. My dog ate pooped out, ate that poop and then barfed it up. That is my experience with the super nachos. Stay away they are freaking vile.
Deep regrets coming here! I got the chicken enchilada (pictured) and my husband got the super burrito with chicken. I only ate half of mine cuz I was starving. You can see in the picture the thick layer of cheese didn’t even melt and was grossly wrapped in seran wrap when we got it. Also unnecessary loads of salty meat. The whole thing was just way too salty/greasy/boring. I guess that’s why it’s a great place for drunk people and hence all the great reviews??? Waste of $13 for sure. La Superior Panadería y Taquería on Leigh Ave is WAYYYYY better! Sticking to that.
Taco Bravo used to be my go-to spot for delicious and affordable tacos. This Saturday evening visit after a long absence left me disappointed. Prices seemed to have doubled since my last visit. The taco was smaller than I remembered, with barely any filling for $3.99. The bean and cheese burrito, previously overflowing with goodness, was disappointingly small, closer to a Taco Bell size than the generous portions, and now charging a whopping $4.50. The lack of customers on a Saturday evening spoke volumes. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the restaurant left something to be desired. It's very sad to see a local legend like Taco Bravo fall into such disrepair.
I used to enjoy taco bravo, but yesterday went there and got the worst and nastiest fast food ever. The server put the tortilla on his bare arm absolutely disgusting, the place looks like a junkie hotspot, the sour cream looked like it was a day old sitting in the sun, the kitchen looks like its never been cleaned before. Literally was throwing up an hour later after barely eating half a taco. It's sad to see it fall apart as it has. It's a disgusting place now.
FOOD WORTH VOMITING FOR! Disgusting Tacos, stale food, and equally bad service. How to make food unhealthy, learn from them. Loaded with sickening cheese, frozen tomatoes and mashed beans, the nachos and tacos will make you feel nauseated. Come on, how difficult is it to give half decent food for whatever crazy price you want to charge?
Well. It was a very sad momment in time. Drove there from Hayward just to munch on some Bravo Tacos. But break my heart the Bravo Tacos were 9.94 plus tax.. I could not see myself paying that much for a taco so I left.
Unfortunately they raised thier prices, not their standards…. The taco shells are stale, imptto eat comfortably. It’s so gross, I called to explain and get assistance with replacement or reimbursement, they disconnected their number…., bad for buisness.
Quite possibly the worst super nachos I've ever had. I ordered them with chicken and they gave me minced beef - although there were only like two pieces of meat anyway. It was mostly a stack of chips with a gallon of the blandest shredded and liquid American cheese. I felt sick trying to eat this garbage they've passed as food.
