Wonderul Japanese restaurant, beautifully designed and very cozy inside. We got soft shell crab tacos (twice), duck baos, caramel sea bass, tamago nigiri and totoaba special with a pineapple cocktail, their delicious matcha layered cake for dessert. Excellent service from Gustavo Garcia and Aaron Martin which they can easily use their skills in any Michelin star restaurant. Thank you Gustavo and Aaron for your 5 star undivided attention to our table. You guys can really "read the table" by providing what we need before we ask them. Appreciate you guys making our dining experience in Kai memorable. Kudos to the management, chef and staff of Kai!

Wonderful meal for our last night in Cancun. Our waiter and his helping staff were also extremely attentive and friendly. Food was wonderful and priced reasonably for the area with portions that were fair. My wife is vegetarian and she loved it.

The most elegant and trendy Japanese restaurant in Cancún right now. Beautiful minimalist design with soft lighting and a refined Japanese aesthetic. Fresh, perfectly balanced dishes — every bite feels authentic and high-end. It has an intimate bar, a stylish smoking room, and even a hidden speakeasy behind the kitchen. Valet parking available, and there’s a casino right in front if you feel like continuing the night.

Let's start with the service, which is extremely fantastic. The ambiance was ok I think it was a basic set up simple is always good! The restaurant is located on the second floor of a casino, so get ready to climb some stairs. The food was awesome. Of course, I gotta order my minimal 5 plates. This is how I conduct my rating. All the food was fresh tasting and smelling. The sushi was very good, Like most Mexican restaurants they always add ther own twist to it. So imagine an Asian restaurant in Mexico that fusion is incredible. I would consider this a must visit if you're in the area. *****

Absolutely blown away by our experience at Kai in Cancun! This place is a gem located inside Macao. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was great and the service was top-tier. Our waiter, Javier, was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel like VIPs the entire evening. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We highly recommend starting with the appetizers—Wagyu slider, Wagyu gyoza, natural edamame, tuna crispy rice, and salmon crispy rice—each one was perfection. We also tried three different rolls and every single one was fresh, flavorful, and expertly made. We will definitely return every time we’re in Cancun.

Sashimi was fresh and good and so were the tuna tartar and gyoza. The steak had a bit too much salt for my taste. The red velvet/cheesecake was divine and so moist. Margarita, our waitress, was very nice.

This Japanese restaurant located at La Isla II in the Macao Casino was a pleasant surprise and we had an amazing meal. The ambience is contemporary yet beautiful and very intimate. The cherry tree in the middle of the dining area is both welcoming and aesthetic. They have an extensive drink menu and we started with cocktails that included a lychee martini and an espresso martini. Appetizers that we enjoyed included the duck confit baos and gyoza dumplings. The waygu beef mini burgers were delectable. Our sons shared an order of the ramen with pork belly. We enjoyed three sushi rolls: the dynamite, spicy tuna and Alaskan king crab roll. Desserts included green tea ice cream, a matcha layer cake and a rich imperial chocolate cake. The staff was very attentive and the service was impeccable.

Let me start with the Decor you walk in and feel like your in wonderland . The food was hands down the best food I’ve had in Mexico and maybe one of my top five restaurants ever . But the real praises are not about food or decor they are about THE BEST WAITER I have ever had in my life . Not only was he friendly , and we had good banter . He knew exactly what to recommend weather that be a drink or food he hit the nail right on the head . More so even once we ordered he took his time asked and made sure all of the food came out at its designated time . If you ever find yourself in KAI CANCUN. Amazing food and service July 2025 This was the best restaurant we have eaten at during our stay in Cancun. The food was beautifully presented, fresh and clean salmon, and just tasted amazing. The drinks were somewhat strong but smooth. You didn’t feel that kick in the back of your throat as with some liquors. The service was exceptional! Javier and Humberto were very attentive and kept our area clean at all times. Javier was knowledgeable of the menu and made us feel right as home. He even provided an English version of the menu to my partner without asking. Can read minds!!! We had an amazing anniversary dinner ❤️

Even though it was a busy night he was always prompt with our requests. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. Ricardo Borrego was incredibly aware of every table and people in the waiting area. One minute he was in the kitchen and the very next second he was thanking customers for their visit. Located on the first floor of the casino, not easy to find. Nicely designed with great service. The fusion sushi is top notch and the grilled salmon was excellent. The only downside is the price. Too expensive for what is offered.

As someone who eats sushi all the time in Houston where it’s very good…the ginger is soggy, the fish was warm and didn’t taste of the best quality, the avocado slices on the rolls were more like guacamole. Additionally, we were going to charge a 10% service charge. The guy taking our card basically told us that wasn’t good enough by waving his hands to indicate our tip was so so before we then ask if that was okay. Whether it was or not, it’s not okay to tell us it wasn’t good enough. I wouldn’t come back.

As someone who eats sushi all the time in Houston where it’s very good…the ginger is soggy, the fish was warm and didn’t taste of the best quality, the avocado slices on the rolls were more like guacamole. Additionally, we were going to charge a 10% service charge. The guy taking our card basically told us that wasn’t good enough by waving his hands to indicate our tip was so so before we then ask if that was okay. Whether it was or not, it’s not okay to tell us it wasn’t good enough. I wouldn’t come back.
