Allegria offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for any occasion. The ambiance is cozy yet elegant, and the food is incredibly fresh and flavorful. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, making for a truly memorable dining experience. Thank you for the great experience
Great restaurant: excellent food and very tasteful decoration. A mix of Italy and France in the heart of Carbondale- absolutely worth a stop! Very good service and an exhaustive affordable wine list.
5 star dining in Carbondale. Peaceful ambience, wonderful staff, and incredible tasting food! This is a place I like to take friends and family for a some drinks and nice evening out to eat. I highly recommend Allegria to any visitors or any locals who have not taken the time to stop by for a meal.
Everything on point. Beautiful creative farm fresh cuisine. A real night out. Ask for Jay! He knows the menus well and his recs were very helpful.
20/10 experience! We dined here on 9/28/22, on the patio, which is so cute by the way! It seems there were 2 servers on shift, and despite a full restaurant they were cool, calm and collected! The service was impeccable, and the food was beyond amazing. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and the wine list seemed great but I am not a wine drinker. The portions of the food were impressive and everything is beautifully plated. Thank you to the staff for making our date night so wonderful. :)
We ordered the trout dish, it was perfect, along with the vegetables. Lovely atmosphere as well.
Delicious food that you can't find anywhere else, and very friendly staff. Fantastic wine and unique cocktails.
The service is what made this place for us. The food was amazing too…But the moment we walked in the door we knew we would be back. 5 stars for sure
Excellent food and service. Cannot wait to return!
This one is one of the best meals I've had out in a very long time. The homemade lasagna was rich with expensive and flavorful cheese rather than motz, the whole snapper was super garlicky and definitely a two-person portion. More importantly, the servers here are highly experienced industry lifers, there's hardly any of these people left. It was a pleasure to be taken care of at that level.
WOW - Unbelievable little gem of a restaurant! Every dish that came out was better than the one before and the owner was incredibly welcoming and kind. Highly recommend the Oysters Rockefeller and don't skip the dessert. It was a decent drive from Snowmass but make the trip and you won't regret it.
Benoit made this the most entertaining exceptional meal in the Valley! Their Walleye was absolutely perfect! Thanks for the lovely dining experience!
We just happened upon this restaurant on our first night in Carbondale and what a treat! The food is seriously the most authentic Italian food I have had in Colorado. The cocktail my husband had was described it as "fall in a cup." It was so good, we had two. The service was outstanding and the chef came out to greet all tables. They had hand sanitizer at the table and the table had been cleaned right before our arrival. Can't wait to go back!
On our way back to Denver, we sopped in Carbondale for a quick dinner and thank good we found Allegria as the toen was vwry quiet with not too many options. We ordered lota of seafood. Oyster, Linguini Clams ans whole Branzino...Delish ! Stefanie took great care of us. We will back !
We rented out Allegria for our wedding day and it was amazing! We had many comments about how delicious the food and drinks were! Many of our guests said that the cocktails were some of the best they’ve had! It was excellent service. The owners were so easy to work with and were on top of every little detail. The owners and all the servers were all so kind and very attentive to everyone’s needs. It was the perfect atmosphere to have our small wedding dinner. I am so thankful I got the opportunity to work with them for such a big event in my life.
New chef upped their game. I went here a few years ago and the food was just ok but this time it was amassing. I got the seafood pasta and my date got the Filet. Everything was exceptional!
This place was amazing! Our server MJ did an awesome job and was extremely attentive. The food was wonderful and the owner, Benoit, came to stop by our table to provide a personal experience before leaving that put the cherry on top of the whole night. Highly recommend!
Allegria has a warm & inviting atmosphere. The food is authentic and delicious. Definitely worth a visit when in Carbondale!
Great local gem! I had the best night out here with a couple of friends. Amazing service and better food, this is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We’ll definitely be back!
Stephanie (Hope I’m spelling that right) was an amazing server. No hiccups at all. Such a great experience. Will be back!
We love the very personal service and attention to details. We love the atmosphere and the delicate food. This is the reason Allegria is our favorite spot to eat often. We love it!
Benoit has done a beautiful job : the team is outstanding, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is elevated. It's not cheap but neither is the product. Worth every penny every time. (Also - the cocktails and wine are exceptional!)
There aren't enough wonderful things to say about this place! I decided last minute to stay in this town and I am so happy I did. I walked down the street with all holiday lights up and saw this place and it looked so cozy. I decided to try it out. From the moment I walked in I instantly fell in love with the place. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet, the décor was stunning. I sat at the bar and got two seafood plates and it was the best meal I've had in years. I also chatted with the owner who was such an amazing gentleman and knows how to charm his customers, I do miss that! I will definitely be coming back. (I was there on a Monday night so it was not that crowded as a heads up). If you're passing by this town, def stop in and treat yourself.
Best meal ever! I highly recommend this place I live close by and never really paid much attention to this place until now. The service was five stars everybody was on point you can tell they are a close knit team I really liked my server she was great! She even tracked me down in the parking lot because I forgot my jacket at the table. Such a lovely atmosphere I really look forward to dining there again. This would be a romantic date night place as well 😉 some items are pricey but well worth it and their selection of wine is incredible along with their knowledge of all wines. I suggest you end it all with a wonderful limoncello. Please be sure to try this semi fine dining you will not regret it. I do not know for certain about reservations, but I did walk in without having any as a single person. Enjoy!
Delightful. We were going to eat next door but decided to try Allegria. From the minute we walked in we loved the atmoshere. One of the best in all of Carbondale. Our waitperson was Sophia. She took a lot of time to answer questions and was a joy to talk with. The measure of an Italian restaurant is it Bolognese pasta. Allegria passes that test quite nicely. We also enjoyed the grouper entre. All in all, a wonderful experience. We will be back soon!!
Great welcome and the food is delicious! Especially the fresh pasta (and the Chartreuse). I can only recommend it if you’re around Carbondale! Thank you to Benoît and his team for this wonderful time at your restaurant.
Allegria is located in the heart of Carbondale Colorado. My husband and I were surprised to discover fine dining in a mountain town, and Allegria did not disappoint. Sitting at our outdoor table, we had a wonderful view of the town, as well as the constant stream of locals arriving for dinner on a Monday night. The restaurant was super busy, but none the less, provided excellent service. The menu offered a wide variety of mouthwatering selections. I had the seafood paccheri, a spicy pasta dish, and my husband the chicken piccata. Both dishes exceeded our expectations. They were exquisite. All the products were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of homemade food. We had trouble deciding which dessert to order, but our tiramisu choice was the perfect way to end our meal. We highly recommend Allegria and will definitely return the next time we are in the area.
We had another great dinner at Allegria! The food was delicious, staff was friendly and prompt and the wine list was great. Loved all the upgrades and improvements the new owners made, including the bar. For summer dining, request to sit outside on the patio!
Outstanding meal! Based on recommendations from our terrific server, we ordered the mussels appetizer, a street corn salad, an arugula salad and the seafood linguine. We are obviously seafood fans! All were delicious, beautifully prepared. The owner is from Chamonix, France and is very friendly and engaging while keeping all the spinning plates of a top notch restaurant in the air! Highly recommend!!
Took my wife here for her birthday last night! Sat on the deck with our pups. Velma was awesome! Food was delicious! Tiramisu came with a candle. We were treated to champagne as well. They even made a point to make mine NA. Kudos to Velma and the staff!
We have a diner with some French friends. The food was really good ! The home made foie gras is delicious, the lobster risotto as well ! The wine is very well chosen and comes from all over the world! France / Italy / Australia / US Cocktails are well made by Velma, bartender and waiter she’s so nice ! Benoit the owner is super nice, he’s even arranged a table for us that wasn't originally for us so that it was more comfortable for us. The other waiters are very nice too, they are responsive and very friendly, worthy of a 5 star service! We recommend this restaurant with our eyes closed! Go there!
The new owner of Allegria has transformed it into a more sophisticated and cozy warm restaurant. We appreciate the owner’s presence and his attention to all facets of his business. In particular we love his European inspired menu and wine selection. His food has been consistently excellent and we can’t be without it.
Allegria is a true standout in our small-town dining scene, offering authentic Italian cuisine with exceptional consistency. Every dish I’ve tried has been expertly prepared, full of rich, traditional flavors that highlight the chef’s skill and care. The service is equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and efficient. My meals have always arrived promptly, making the experience both enjoyable and relaxing. Allegria combines small-town charm with the quality of a fine dining experience. A local treasure well worth visiting time and again.
This place is great! I had some friends in town and we had decided to go here, needless to say, I'll be working this one into my regular spots. We got the freshly cut charcuterie board, calamari and the Caprese tower salad to share as appetizers. I got the Schnitzel and everyone else was pleased with their food. To top it all off the service was amassing from our waiter and everyone pitched in to help! We even got to talk with the owner Benoit, who helped us pick out a wine, he was very knowledgeable happy to help. 6 stars if it were an option
One of my favorite restaurants in Carbondale! Delicious food and lovely atmosphere. We were served by Will and he was delightful —very knowledgeable about wine and the menu. The tiramisu is amazing and the mushroom ravioli is a great vegetarian option
They have frog legs-my favorite food and impossible to find. Attentive service. I don't like getting my hot food when I haven't had time to enjoy my cocktail and salad like so many places do. She didn't bring main course until I finished Primi. Easy parking. There is a gratuity for the kitchen but a discount for cash.
We are from out of town and were lucky enough to find Allegria. We were served by Stephanie, who was very professional and friendly. The clams linguine and the lasagna were excellent. Also had escargot and a Caesar salad with wasabi dressing which were delicious. Add the nice wine we drank and we had a perfect evening in a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend Allegria!
The food was phenomenal and Elliot whom I believe is a busser was very attentive. The chef even personally came over to the table to ask how things were. Unfortunately our server was lack luster. She never came over to ask how anything was and really did nothing for our table other than take our order. Everyone on the staff was very attentive otherwise. Also I don’t think the sidewalk table is social distancing friendly and if I make a reservation I should have a better table than that. Excited for the next opportunity to eat here .
Food was excellent. Everything we had was delicious. They have a nice selection of wines too. For dog owners, very dog-friendly establishment but you have to be seated outside. Outside tables are basically on town's main street so the view/atmosphere is not the greatest.
Made reservations based on reviews and photos - we wanted an “experience” for our out-of-town visit. Seated a little later than expected for our reservation, but overall very pleased with our dining experience. Enjoyed the wine, a few appetizers, and our entrees. Good service, great food.
Good food, but weird experience. The restaurant is under new ownership and was understaffed the night of our reservation (one waiter for 9 tables outside...and he was clearly stressed out). Appetizers took 15 minutes to prepare and arrives with our entrees. Food was good... the blackened halibut was excellent, but some of the seafood in my cioppino was overcooked. The sideshow was the owner bringing extra tables outside to accommodate the growing line of people, and offering free desserts to those who had a less than average experience while dining and Prosecco to those in line. We were thinking of ordering dessert, but decided not to because we did not want to inconvenience the staff and figured that our giving up our table would be helpful to them. I'm sure that on a night in which they weren't as overwhelmed that the food and experience would have been much better. Unfortunately, that was not our night.
The setting is pretty. The building is nice and there are some cool giant mirrors inside. We went for dinner around 6:30pm on a Thursday and there was no wait to be seated indoors. They have a lovely outdoor patio in the front. The service was slow but they were nice and doing the best they could. The food was okay. I had the lasagna and it was fine but bland. My partner had ragu with elk and it was also bland. I don't think it's worth going back, but worth trying once and maybe you'll like it more than me. Our group was 4 adults, we had two appetizers, a bottle of wine, and each had a dinner dish and the total before tip was $190.
Great wine, we ordered a variety, the best was the squash/mushroom ravioli 5 ⭐️,the worst was a variety of the washbi salad, chicken piccata, 0 lemon flavor or lemons on dish, chicken parm, sub par. Disappointed at best. Gave it a try but would not recommend. Sorry really was hoping for more.
So…. I really wanted to add this restaurant into my rotation of normal goto places in the Carbondale area. Unfortunately, the service tonight left a really bad taste for us. I support the J1 Visa program and believe that it can offer employers in the valley desperately needed staffing to fill vital roles but, if you have the wrong person in the wrong role, you’re really shooting yourself in the foot and displacing a local. The J-1 Visa gentleman that served us tonight has no business being in the service industry. Doesn’t write down orders and can’t remember any orders taken. Every request was met with a long wait and when he came back to the table without the correct or requested items, he offered a monotone apology noting that he forgot about us. No wine knowledge nor training and his idea of a great wine presentation was to pop the cork out of the bottle as loudly as possible. This was witnessed at other tables as well. I’m sure he has lots of strengths, they are just not in service or culinary fields. Server also managed to ring up a 33% more expensive wine bottle…. twice…. Caught by us upon reviewing the check and he had that look of, “man, almost got away with it!” The owner was present and certainly witnessed the short comings (and is no doubt painfully aware) but did not take action nor substituted a different server for us. The owner also made it clear loudly in the restaurant that this is just a retirement gig for him as he schmoozed the tables with the ladies with the pink alligator Birkin bags. All that said, food was amazing. Kudos to the culinary staff (not a fan of the 3% culinary charge as prices should reflect BOH labor but wouldn’t have thought twice about that if service was between a 6 and a 10). Prices are in line with the current economy and area. Other servers were smiling, engaging, and seemed interested in the well being of their tables. The server assistant that visited our table was also pleasant and apologetic for the server. Drink menu was meh but wine selections are quality, although not Italian (not that they have to be but, when in Rome….)
I was looking forward to dining here, but have concluded I will not return. The atmosphere is great and menu intriguing but when we order salmon, we received something that was not salmon. When we asked about it, the waiter (Jay) said it was “a special salmon that was not like regular salmon”. It was a white fish similar to branzino or tilapia, which is far from salmon. When I pressed, someone other than our waiter came and admitted it was not salmon but rockfish…so we were lied to. After everything, the rockfish and chicken piccata were the same dish with different proteins. I would not return because the service was unprofessional and even after the admission, no one apologized or came forward to ask if there was anything that could be done. If you are out of salmon, just say it’s not available; simple as that.
I was driving through the town and stopped in after a hike. I was alone so sat at the bar. Usually this is a good option for a single person…not here. The service was functional but unfriendly. The food was good, but I did not receive a single smile or friendly word from anyone that worked there. I would not return.
I’ve eaten here twice in the last two months. Initial time was fine, though service was slow and unfriendly. The second time service was worse. Had to flag someone down to request a drink to go with my entree. My chicken parm was good, but I pulled a piece of plastic out of my mouth while eating it. Told our server and the owner came over and took it away with a brief apology. No “would you like something else, are you still hungry?” It was an odd reaction. They comped the chicken parm and our salad, which was a nice gesture. Was still disappointed by two visits with poor service back to back, and when we shared this with the owner, he went on a very unexpected rant claiming that he can’t get good help and saying “I’m done with this valley!” Again, very weird. Left a bad impression, likely won’t be back.
This restaurant is not good. The food is way over priced for what it is and the quality of the said food. Food was bland tasting and I had the lasagna which is not hard to make and it was gummy and tasteless. The servers were nice and did a good job however they seemed to be trained to specifically find ways to up-charge you and make you buy more. The atmosphere is okay but other than that I would not recommend. Also they charge you for water which is not something that happens normally. We were charged 60 minimum for water.
They sat our family of four at a two top with four chairs. We asked to be moved (we made a reservation), they said no and then proceeded to seat a table without a reservation at the table we had requested. We ordered a salad and it was mealy and clearly made at least a day before. It was a long cry from a caprese salad. Shame. This was my favorites restaurant in the valley for a very long time. Life has pulled us away from the area, but upon our return, we’re looking forward to sharing this restaurant with our family. Bad idea. Received two stars instead of one because they were kind enough to take our mealy caprese off the bill when we asked and our waitress was a doll. Left our wine and moved onto another restaurant. Would rather go to beer works, at least I know what I’m getting.
Truly disappointed. My husband and I picked this restaurant to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. We showed up early and let them know we had arrived. They mentioned they could not seat us until about 5 min after our reservation time which we were fine with. We had a drink a couple doors down and came back. They didn't have our table and we waited another 20-30 minutes. We went ahead and left because we felt we had a reservation and were not provided updates, etc. after we had been told it wouldn't take very long. I understand this place is probably great and folks are really enjoying their meal but we wanted to also enjoy a meal - especially on such a special occasion - but felt we did the right things and were not accommodated and at times that there was not acknowledgement that we were still waiting.
