We ate breakfast here on a slow weekend. The place was very clean. Great atmosphere, not very crowded, you can bill your check to your room. The prices were decent and disproportionate to the price of the hotel. Service was phenomenal! Amazing views if you're seated near the window. Will definitely come back to eat here but not stay at the overpriced hotel.
Incredible views and incredible food. Service is always prompt and professional. Pricey but worth it. Usually go for a special occasion but stopped by recently with a friend after we went to Calla Lily Valley and everything was perfect.
Pacific’s Edge at Hyatt Carmel Highlands never disappoints. Even on a very busy evening, Jeff and his staff kept their composure, worked together flawlessly, and made sure every guest felt taken care of. That level of professionalism and teamwork truly stood out. This is one of my favorite places on the planet to watch the sunset with my wife. The views are incredible, the atmosphere is unforgettable, and it always feels like a moment worth slowing down for. We got back to our room and felt compelled to write this review right away. Huge thanks to Jeff and the entire team for making the evening so special. Highly recommended.
Our evening at Pacific's Edge was memorable from the very first moment. It all started at valet, where we were greeted with a genuinely warm welcome, JC set the tone perfectly, Bryan took great care of us at the bar, and Freddie was an absolute standout as our server. Sometimes it’s not just about the food or even the priceless view (though both were fantastic). It’s about the hospitality, the way you’re made to feel from start to finish. That’s what truly elevated the experience. Thank you to the entire team. We can’t wait to revisit. 🌊🍷
5* birthday breakfast.... My husband took me here on my birthday whilst we were on our honeymoon. We loved everything about it. The view is to die for, great service and even better food. Wanted to go for dinner but it was closed the nights we were there.
We went for brunch and I would highly, highly recommend it. I don’t like cappuccinos but I could not stop drinking my boyfriend’s. The view was breathtaking. The service was great. The food was so good (new head chef and great ingredients). I would not mind coming back.
Delicious food beautifully presented. Spectacular views, sublime atmosphere. The Bloody Mary was bloody weak; did they forget the vodka in all the confusion of olives, celery, lemon wedge, spices? What a treat to spend an afternoon here after a vista views hike. The surrounding lodgings made for an afternoon hike just to reach the farthest suite.
Remarkable views - particularly during sunset. The food and service were on point. Enjoyed the Ahi Tuna - perfectly done - and Clams with Pasta while watching the glorious sunset. Valet parking is probably the way to go to save time.
We came specifically for the Dungeness crab Benedict and it was everything we wanted it to be- buttery, extra creamy hollandaise sauce over perfectly cooked poached eggs and meaty crab cakes. We got extra hollandaise which turned out to be a good move. The views are also stunning.
We stopped here on our vacation to the area. My 12 year old son, "don't get your hopes up mom it won't be as good as you are imagining it." Ha! He was WRONG. It WAS everything I imagined and more. The food was wonderful and the view was amazing. I loved watching the waves crash against the rocks. Granted when I sat down I wasn't about to let anyone in my family sit in the chair facing the window. My pick of restaurant my pick of the chair. ;)
We've dined here multiple times and must say the food is always incredible but the cocktails are amazing. Especially if they're prepared by Brian, highly recommend his espresso martini, old fashioned and any other strange concoction on the menu because he probably invented it. The food was wonderful, service was great and the dishes were delicious. Will be back again soon.
First off the views are 10/10, i recommend a sunset dinner we did a 6:15 reservation on the open table app. Tim (i beieve our server was) super nice, he won max over with the swordfish special which he loved. Lavender Lemon drop was good and the espresso martini.
What a wonderful dinner and view. The Halibut was cooked to perfection, my cioppino was deicious. The sunset over the water was spectacular but the waitress Rosemary will be what I remember. I had told her a story of a childhood memory of mine having hot chocolate there 60 years earlier. She surprised us with two hot chocolates to end our wonderful meal. Great food and an even greater waitress. Thanks Rosemary for making my birthday great.
Stunning view, happy hour (30% off) is a good time to visit
Most amazing view over the cliffs, mansions and rocks of the Carmel Highlands. Amazing glass front + outdoor patio.
Nov 2024: I am writing this review to recognize the most important aspects of our visit to Pacific Edge. 1. Tony's excellent service details. 2. The absolute beauty of this restaurant location. Let me start with Tony: It was our 30th wedding anniversary and my wife and I had travelled up from Orange County to celebrate 4 days in the Carmel/Big Sur area. As soon we mentioned this to Tony, He brought out 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate the event. He was also very courteous and attentive to our dietary requests and gave us a little history about the hotel and the area and that he loves his job and the restaurant location so much that that his 29+ years of coming to work has been a bonus. The restaurant location: This is by far one of the best restaurant locations I have been too. The views of the ocean, the waves, the clouds, the mist, the rocks, the sun and the seagulls makes you not want to miss a moment of looking out the window. Every minute of the 4 hours we spend was tranquil and peaceful. We will surely return for the views AND Tony's excellent service.
We had an incredible experience at Pacific Edge! When we made our reservation, we specifically requested a table by the window, and the staff accommodated us perfectly. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and the food was delicious. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the breathtaking view of the beach. We were fortunate enough to watch the sunset during our meal. An unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to everyone. Thank you, Pacific Edge, for a wonderful evening!
The view was fantastic, good for couple dates. I had steak medium well and my wife had cioppino. They only have few items on the menu but the waiter said they change it often.
What an experience! The view from Pacific’s Edge was breathtaking, especially as the sun set right next to us. Definitely make a reservation in advance and, if I may suggest, do so for at least 30 minutes before the sun is scheduled to set that day. The view and the sunset make an incredible combination. 🌅 Besides the view, the food was amazing. I ordered the short rib, one of the entrees that was marked “gluten free” on the menu. As I picked up my knife to cut into the meat, I realized it wasn’t necessary as the meat completely separated just with the fork. The portions were just the right size. The experience was expensive, but worth it for a special occasion or “treat yourself” event. Our server was fun and connected well with us. He also took us a photo! We did find it a bit weird, though, that we weren’t offered anything to drink except for water. We didn’t receive a drink menu or wine list, but it was probably better to save money anyway!
Had a great breakfast here. It's a bit on the pricy side, but the view is worth it.
Very good service, beautiful views and atmosphere. We didn't have reservations and they were able to seat us 2 by the window with one of the prettiest views. The food was amazing. I look forward to coming back and bringing my friends and family here.
I enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant. Had a great ocean view at sunset. The waiter was attentive. Vegetarian risotto was delicious with the brussel sprouts side dish.
Absolutely the best views of the Pacific Ocean from an elegant restaurant that’s perched on the top of the coastline. The unobstructed views extend for miles Bay interrupted by the the reflection of the sun or the mist lifting from the ocean. It’s a great spot to take a date or spend quality time with. Significant other. If you are looking to impress or have Romantic lunch or dinner this is it. The sunsets are out of this world….
The food, view, hospitality and service that we received from Manuel was great 😃 👍🏼The yogurt parfait is very hearty and filling. My friend and I are visiting the area from San Diego. I would definitely go back here again. Part 2 Review as of 8 April 2025: I took my granddaughters here for a delightful breakfast. I make it routine to have my breakfast here whenever I'm in town. This place never disappoints me so as the service of Manny, our server.
Made a stop to Pacific’s Edge restaurant visiting Carmel and the quick lunch stop was far from disappointing. We luckily were sat right away and had the opportunity to sit by an ocean view table. We ordered the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and it was phenomenal! The chowder was velvety and thick, just how I personally like it and the bread bowl was not your usual style but perfect for not overpowering the chowder. A 4.5 star experience overall!
While staying at the Tickle Pink Inn the short walk to the Pacific's Edge in the Highlands Inn was our "go to" for drinks, dinner and lunch! Excellent, friendly service! We recommend reservations around sunset for obvious reasons. Spectacular outdoor seating when the weather is good. Nice windbreak effect because of their hefty glass enclosure, helps when a breeze is present. Highly recommended!
Had a wonderful experience here on our way to Big Sur. We went late Friday morning and had brunch. It was delicious, our waiter Angel was a delight and the view outside on the patio was gorgeous! Will definitely be back.
HAPPY HOUR, Don't miss it. Best Value in all of Carmel! Amazing view, great service and the food was delicious. The view is incredible and the Happy Hour menu is amazing. We spit a burger and Caesar Salad which was plenty. I ordered the sous-vide Old Fashioned which was delicious but they used "cheap" cherry not the kind you would expect from an upscale establishment like this. Would definitely come again. They have an outdoor patio which is also lovely.
I highly recommend it. We stay at Hyatt Highlands every other year and eat at Pacific's Edge for breakfast and dinner. The view is fantastic; ask for a table with a view or sit outside. The Huevos Rancheros for breakfast are delicious, and the Cioppino is very tasty. Our waiter Tony was perfect, very informative, and made great recommendations.
Our first time visiting the restaurant. We were seated by the window which made our brunch even more spectacular. We had Point Lobos Dungeness crab benedict and California benedict. Everything was seasoned perfectly with the right amount of salt and acid. Even the potatoes were done to perfection sprinkled with salt, scallions and parsley. The prices were reasonable considering the location and the quality of food. The service was professional, yet personable. We look forward to going back there again soon.
stunning view from the moment you step into this restaurant. Make sure you check the weather forecast before you come. Sea fog can block your view on a bad day. High elevation means a full view of the ocean. This is indeed the edge of the sky, and the corner of the sea. Oh, the food is nice plus.
This place does not need another review. In fact, they don’t even need to serve such great food and cocktails, they can just be, for the view! But they do have it all. The live music in the lobby is also wonderful for after sunset and the view is gone.
Beautiful views. Recommended to make a reservation on open table if you plan to go in the evening or weekends. Friendly staff. Pricing is extremely reasonable considering location. Menu is limited in seafood considering location, but the items that are available are well crafted. My husband ordered the halibut dish. I was fortunate enough to taste it and it was melt in your mouth delicious. I had the cheese burger without the bun amazing!
Incredible experience! Why? Read below: 1) the service was espectacular; very kind, helpful by answering all our questions; fast with the attention and the food. Attentive to our needs and always around in case you need something. 2) Food was very flavorful and fresh. We got there for breakfast at opening time, and the food was served fast. The pics show how fresh are the fruits and vegetables. The bread and pancakes tasted recently baked. They yogurt was European style, and not too sugary. Good coffee! Which is a plus, but not refills; so if you need more than 1 cup, be ready to pay for each cup. We ordered americanos; and the cup was rather small, but worth it. 3) the location is unbelievable, check the video I posted. Very calming and relaxing while enjoying your b-food. 4) the place was very clean and the bathrooms with all the supplies needed. 5)The price is on the high end, because you are paying for the location, view, food, good service, etc. definitely a “coming back” for us! Hope you enjoy it as well!
The view was incredible! Got here early ahead of our reservation and enjoyed a cocktail while watching the sunset. Once seated, the service was great and the food was very filling. We celebrated my uncles birthday and he really enjoyed the occasion
Charcuterie board was ok, dispensable. But the burrata salad was fresh, creamy and delicious, as well as the fish with risotto, and meat. We ended up seating outside and it was very pleasant. I think if you seat inside it would be louder probably.
One of the most visually beautiful locations that I have ever been. The ambiance begins at the entry way with the well maintained entryway and large wooden doors. Top that off with floor to ceiling windows facing the coast and the top notch and friendly service.
If there were more stars, this place deserves. Nice place, nice employees, nice food, good portion, and i'd even say inexpensive for what you get here. Great view is just an another topping on already great set of services.
Stopped by after a hike at Point Lobos. Showed up in workout attire (felt a little underdressed.... Lol). but still felt welcomed. View was amazing, food was great, drinks were great, atmosphere was great. Had the shift manager Marco personally stop by the tables to make sure everything was good. Very attentive. Restaurant does have a breakfast, bunch/lunch and dinner menus depending on the time. Will definitely be coming back.
Beautiful brunch spot with the best views!! Had a reservation beforehand , still felt like I would’ve been sat fairly quickly. Service was good and food came out quicker than expected.
The food was too much for my opinion, I ordered an omelette, I think the amount wasn’t in an equilibrium, which means too much mozzarella and less vegetables. Except that we ask for bread, the bread was roast on the grill with butter, but it felt that the bread wasn’t fresh, maybe it Was reheated… I’m not sure… but I have to say that from the table was worth it. It was one of the beautiful restaurants I ever been in.
The attraction is definitely the views. The food we ordered was the steak, burger, salads, snd dessert. My burger and fries were delicious, and the husband’s steak was also delicious. The espresso martini….amazing.
The View is beautiful! The service was excellent! The food was average, presentation was excellent, but flavor was lacking. The noise level was unacceptable. We arrived at early dinner but they had a wedding and thankfully we finished and rushed out because the guests that were in the lobby were so loud, then the music was so ridiculous, I felt sorry for anyone still trying to enjoy their meal.
You really only come here for the view or you can't find a place to eat between calla Lily valley and point lobos. It's expensive but the food is mediocre. $14 for extra grilled chicken for the salad and it was dry and flavorless. Burger was dry as well.
Impressive at first sight... Perfect place to enjoy a beautiful sunset. The atmosphere was wonderful, very peaceful and quiet. Service was attentive, maybe too much... But they know how to take good care of the client. Food was not as good as expected: the steak was undercooked and took ages to get it back overcooked and dry. The meat was not even tender enough... The halibut was not local, but Alaskan. Opposite to the steak, i got it overcooked from the very beginning, a bit too dry and maybe lacking a little bit of taste. The desserts were nothing out of this world, just something sweet to end the meal.
Went here during lunch hour, 1:00 pm. I was super excited on experiencing this gem for my birthday. Unfortunately, it lacked in many areas, one being the service, second, the food itself, and third, how outdated the restaurant looked. The hostess was really friendly but just to get us seated took sometime. Seemed like there was only 1 server, 1 guy to pour water and that’s it, very slow service and not attentive. The menu needs some updating for sure. The food itself was mid and not memorable or tasty. I got the crab roll (pic attached) was nothing like it described, no roll or coleslaw. A simple search on google will show you what a real crab roll looks like. My mom got the seafood cioppino (pic added) and she got a dry plate, meaning a plate with only calamari and deep fried artichoke & shrimp, no sauce, no bread! The server also let us know no prime rib or beef was available as they were out of stock. I did however, enjoy the view, although due to some construction only a few 2 seater tables have the clear unobstructed view. In addition, even though I made a reservation and stated I was celebrating my bday; there was no acknowledgment nor treat. I did see other parties who had a treat with a candle brought out. Unfortunately this will be a one and done for me.
If you want to enjoy de view this is a great place to go and it stops there. The food is below mediocre. My wife ordered an orange juice and they brought her something out of the box. Place of this caliber should offer fresh squeezed. I'll not recommend this restaurant to anybody.
I brought 15 family members here. The waiter repeatedly bothered us about how the check would be paid instead of serving us even though we explained everything in the beginning. We were ignored for over 30 minutes, and when he finally took our order, he was rude and still managed to take it incorrectly. I regularly bring my guests to this spot but this customer service experience was poor to the point of no return. Disrespectful. Never again.
I wish I had a better review to write but unfortunately my experience here was ruined by at least 20 flies flying around my table. (That's not a joke either. There were at least 3 on our window, 2 flying on and off of my boyfriend's back and a swarm next to him! I'm getting itchy and irritated again just by thinking about it smh.) The view was so beautiful, but it was incredibly hard to enjoy because flies kept landing on us, our window and table. It was so bad, and so irritating, I took my food to go because I didn't have a moment of peace. We even switched tables and in doing so, a fly landed on my boyfriend's food, making it inedible. The only redeeming quality this place has are the employees. The hostess and our waiter were very nice and tried their best to help us and explained that it's been a problem due to their patio. For such a beautiful place, you would think they would be eager to fix this. Thank you to our waiter who discounted my boyfriend's food since he couldn't finish it, but it's a shame that our experience was ruined. I seriously cannot explain how frustrated I was. Having to eat a $30 sandwich in the car because the restaurant has flies flying around is unacceptable. I am extremely grateful I didn't go there for dinner because I would have demanded for the entire thing to be comped. I think we were there no more than 30 minutes. What a shame. We definitely won't be back, and I suggest finding another place with a pretty view unless you want to defend your food from flies the entire time.
Definitely a place to check out for breakfast and lunch. The views are amazing. However, my recent dinner experience was disastrous. Ordered crab cakes, was charged for crab cakes, but only received one crab for a party of 2? I have never ordered crab cakes before and receive only one crab cake at any restaurant. I ordered a rack of lamb, $56, and requested medium well done. The rack of lamb was delivered and was medium rare. My wife ordered the halibut and that was excellent. I did not want to send my order back because I wanted to dine together. I ate around the edges. Lastly, I was charged $50 for a corkage fee. The corkage tree is not listed on the menu nor did the waiter tell me they were going to charge me $50. That is outrageous. The following morning I had some free time and walked down and spoke to the director / manager of the restaurant. A very nice guy who understood my complaints. He said they need to change the menu so it says crab cake instead of cakes. He said that the photo I showed him was definitely medium rare. Lastly he agreed that they should tell customers who bring wine in, or have the corkage fee on the menu. Lastly I mentioned to him it was my birthday and at least they could put a candle in some ice cream and gave it to me but they did not offer to do that during the dinner service as they knew it was my birthday in advance. The manager agreed with my comments however I was not reimbursed at all. I will not be going back to this restaurant ever again as there are so many excellent restaurants in downtown Carmel. For over $200, it was way overpriced.
