Shogun Sushi is hands down one of the best sushi spots around! Every visit is an amazing experience, from the food to the atmosphere. Their specialty rolls are outstanding—the Linet Special and Mikey Special are absolute must-tries, packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The fireball roll is a showstopper and literally comes out in flames, making it just as exciting to watch as it is to eat. We ordered a sushi boat, outstanding and delicious as always. The omakase sashimi is incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, showcasing the chefs’ true skill. It’s no surprise they won Best Sushi of Carmichael in 2025—they truly deserve the recognition. What really makes Shogun Sushi special, though, is the people. Alex, the owner, is fantastic, and he and his wife are some of the kindest, most welcoming people you’ll meet. They make you feel like family every time you walk in. If you’re looking for top-quality sushi, great service, and a memorable dining experience, Shogun Sushi is the place to go! 🍣🔥

Shogun Sushi in Carmichael is absolutely amazing! Every visit reminds me why it’s one of my favorite sushi spots. Their food is always incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The Lion King Roll, Dragon Roll, and Rainbow Roll are consistently delicious, and the Spicy Tuna Roll is always perfect. I also love their Shrimp Tempura, Gyoza, and Chicken Teriyaki — all cooked perfectly with great flavor. Their Miso Soup is comforting and full of flavor, and the California Roll is simple but always fresh. The Bento Boxes are also a great option if you want a little bit of everything. The service is friendly and fast, and the whole atmosphere is welcoming. Thank you so much Alex and the entire team! Shogun Sushi never disappoints — highly recommend checking it out if you’re craving great sushi and Japanese dishes!

I ordered a sushi boat from Shogun Sushi for my son’s birthday party, and let me tell you, it disappeared faster than cake! 😄 I was honestly shocked because kids are usually picky eaters, but this boat? Gone in seconds. The presentation was stunning, the fish was incredibly fresh, and the quality was next-level. You can taste the care in every bite. And the staff? Total sweethearts kind, polite, and so accommodating. It's rare to find a place that nails both the food and the service, but Shogun Sushi really does. Trust me, you won’t regret trying it. One visit and you’ll be hooked. 🍣💯

Super delicious rolls here. I could really taste the expensive ingredients. The maki referred to as “Linet special” in particular was phenomenal. The rainbow fish was yummy. Quality of the sashimi in the omakase was delicious. Highly recommended

Our normal sushi spot changed ownership a few months ago so we’ve been on the hunt for a new place. Shogun did not disappoint, the place was quaint, the service was prompt and the food was phenomenal. It was my son’s birthday so they even brought him out a complimentary dessert. Shogun Sushi is by far my favorite sushi place that keeps me coming back! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. The sushi is always fresh and beautifully presented. I loved the house wife special and the fire ball roll. The staff is friendly and attentive, making for a great dining experience. If you're looking for giant sushi boats, this is your place! I went with a group of people and we got sushi boat D and it was truly massive. Great price for how many rolls you get! It's also a good variety of rolls. Some of them weren't my cup of tea but most were very delicious! It was also prepared very quickly for how much food you get. The service is also very friendly and attentive and quick. I'm sure I'll be coming back again someday!

I have ordered doordash from here a few times and also have been inside to eat a few times. The food is always good and so is the service. The happy hour menu is great and my favorites are the mushrooms and the veggie tempura. I only took away one star because the last time I ordered a lion king roll to be delivered there were some bones in the fish. 3 of the 8 rolls had bones and I had to spit it out. The roll was good but when I'm eating and start chewing on something hard that shouldn't be there it grosses me out. I have ordered a lion king roll before and it did not have bones. Otherwise food and service has been great and I'll be back again soon for happy hour.

First time, and I would definitely come back. Service wasn't bad, ambiance was nice, and the food was delicious. It take take a little while to come out, but I guess the sushi chef is creating art, so it can't be rushed. We ordered a Dragon Roll, Spider Roll, Alaska Roll and a Cherry Blossom Roll. They were all very good, but that Spider Roll stole the show!!! The flavors in that thing was nothing short of perfection 👌. Try them out and make sure to try that Spider!

Come on, stop giving places 5 stars that are just barely average because I keep wasting money based on these glowing reviews. Miso soup was salty. I had a weird roll that was grilled somewhere along the creation process and tasted like roasted marshmallows mixed with sushi. It certainly wasn't the worst food, but it didn't do anything for me. The sushi rice on my daughter’s roll was weirdly mushy. Ick. They use imitation crab but fail to mention it on the menu. Their rolls mostly contain cheap stuff like cream cheese, fried shrimp, imitation crab. Good sushi should have plenty of fresh, high quality fish. The Cali roll was so blah. Plain imitation crab with avocado. No crab salad or any taste to it except a little sweetness from the imitation crab, which we didn't like. Waitress was nice. Restaurant atmosphere was your average Japanese restaurant in Carmichael. We will keep looking for a good spot for sushi and Japanese food.
