We we walking around Tahoe and looking for something for our sweet tooth. This place got me when they advertised the strawberry shortcake which was homemade. We ordered from the bar and the food came quickly. The desserts were delicious. Keylime pies seem to be homemade. The strawberry shortcake was delicious. I think the strawberries could’ve been fresher. But overall, the desserts hit the spot. The atmosphere and food overall looked great. Definitely worth a try if you’re in town.
A must stop every time I’m in Tahoe! The cutest coziest little diner with delicious food! I had the eggs benecado and both the hollendaise and florentine sauces were soooo good! The service is also so warm and inviting! Renee was my server and she made me feel like I was a friend just coming over for breakfast. Such a warm, inviting person to be around and super fast/attentive at the same time. Definitely a Tahoe favorite!! + strong wifi for a bit of computer work is always a plus!
Very friendly staff and fun place with excellent food. I enjoyed my breakfast sandwich immensely. The cinnamon raisin toast was delicious. I definitely recommend eating here.
Fairly busy during Saturday game day though we were seated right away. Fun decor, lots of TVs and wide brunch selection at decent prices. Tried the patty melt and it did not disappoint.
This is a place you need to enjoy while in Tahoe City. The wait staff are so warm, friendly and engaging with the patrons. I felt like I was an old regular even though it was my first time visiting. During the summer they are always packed, winter time can vary. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant with bike, bears, and all things California covering every bit of space. I ordered the Chicken fried steak & eggs, it was delicious. They were good with just a one top or 20 if needed. They have everything from appetizers to, breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, pizza. I'm looking forward to returning. I definitely recommend Rosie's Café in Tahoe City, CA.
Elise at Rosie’s took good care of us. She, individually, is worth coming again and again providing spectacular service and attitude. The biscuit and gravy was alright. The pancakes, had browns, and breakfast sandwich were terrific. The mocha espresso tastes like it’s supposed to (other shops in the area serve something that tastes like dishwasher instead of espresso). We purchased extra zucchini bread to take home. Spectacular service, good food, and wonderful people. Thank you, Elise, for making our visit that much better.
“Where Taxidermy Meets Toast Points” Rosie’s Café in Tahoe City is what happens when your grandmother’s attic, a taxidermy shop, and a really solid brunch spot all collide in a beautiful, maple-syrup-scented explosion. You walk in and instantly wonder if you’ve stepped into a 1970s time capsule curated by someone with a deep emotional connection to moose heads and model airplanes. And I mean that in the BEST way. The food? Picture your childhood comfort meals if your childhood was spent vacationing with eccentric millionaires who loved sourdough and bacon. My eggs were fluffier than a conspiracy theory podcast host. The hashbrowns were crispy enough to reawaken my soul. Even the toast had that smug, buttery confidence you only get at high elevations. The service was fast, friendly, and full of genuine Tahoe charm, i.e., everyone looked like they could ski backwards with a Bloody Mary in hand. Respect. Now, let’s talk restrooms — because this is where Rosie’s separates itself from the herd. The men’s room features a trough. That’s right, fellas, prepare to relive your high school gym locker room glory days, shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers, making awkward eye contact with the elk on the wall. But wait — plot twist — the water temperature at the sink was HOT. Not “lukewarm surprise” hot. I’m talking “therapeutic spa hand treatment” hot. Five stars just for that. Final thoughts: Come for the food, stay for the ambiance, and leave with cleaner hands than you expected. Rosie’s is a Tahoe treasure, a brunch fever dream, and a celebration of all things weird, warm, and wonderful.
Friendly place with luscious food, breakfast til 2:00 pm, attentive staff, menu with something for everyone. My wife usually takes out 1/2 of her meal as leftover, but the veggie sandwich was too good not to consume right away. Didn’t try the fries or soup. Oatmeal is so hot you will burn your mouth if you’re not careful.
Quick stop for lunch while driving around Lake Tahoe. We had a chili dog with fries and a cup of chili. The dog was huge and loaded with their great chili and red onions. Jack took care of us. He's worked there for 34 years. Super nice guy. Across the street are steps down to the lake.
Have been coming to Rosie's for over 40 years. It was considered a place for locals back in the day, but has since become popular with tourists and weekenders. It can get busy, as a result, but the menu is diverse and affordable and well-worth the wait. It's nice to have the option for breakfast into the early afternoon. The service is always great and the atmosphere is fun.
I must say, my friends and I absolutely adored this place! The service was not only excellent but also incredibly swift. The interior boasts a unique and creative design that adds to the overall experience. And let's not forget the star of the show – the food – which was nothing short of delectable. Highly recommended!

For namesake, we had to bring our dog Rosie to Rosie's cafe! Besides the name, the service was excellent and they kept checking up on us even if we were seated outside. The food was great and large…

I have to admit I was pretty curious about this place after reading all the reviews the night before. The rating is pretty high but there seems to be so much drama on google maps reviews. We had been recommended to this place from a gentlemen at a store in Reno so we decided to stop by for breakfast on our way home. Now that we've experienced it for ourselves here is our own opinion. Generally we had a pretty good experience. Our server was a nice lady who chatted with us a little before she got a couple more tables and got busier. The bloody marys were ok but nothing mind blowing and not especially large. Pretty standard fare. The eggs benedict was decent but not amazing or especially large portions. Again pretty standard fare. The Tahoe Loco Moco however was amazing and we would definitely recommend ordering that. It was very tasty and a decent sized portion. The environment is of course fun and you can see plenty of pictures to decide it it's the kind of place you'd like to eat in. They are across the street from the lake and you can kind of see it from the front window but not especially well (especially during the smoke filled forest fire californiapocalypse) so I don't think I'd tell people to go there for the views. Overall I would say to check the place out if you're in the area and if you're there for breakfast definitely order the Loco Moco.
This place has been a stalwart eatery for me since the early 80's when I was a college student in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe was a frequent visitor to the area. My classmate buddy's family had and still has a condo in Incline Village and Rosie's was a fun drive as a breakfast destination, even in the dregs of those college hangovers, but when you're young, even those were worth it. And so, Rosie's was always a welcomed treat in the morning, some cups of coffee and a hearty meal, perhaps before hitting the slopes or going back to the condo to, what else?...go back to sleep. Perhaps it wasn't just that the food was consistently good, but the ambience, the reliability of it being there and the memories throughout the years, this is a personal legacy place. And on this visit, with all the vintage decorative junk all over the place, this isn't just a food place to me, it's a place where a whole lot of youth happened, my middle ages and it continues on as I enter my senior years. That gives you with a warm, fuzzy feeling every time I enter this restaurant.
Stopped for a quick lunch before driving around to see Lake Tahoe. My husband and I ordered a Combo pizza to share. The pizza came out after 15 minutes and it looked good. It’s very fresh and the crust was crunchy. We both loved it. Staffs were friendly and price reasonable. A nice place for lunch or quick bite.
We visited Tahoe City and passed Rosies Cafe a few times and knew we wanted to stop by and give them a try. We were not disappointed! We went for breakfast and the food was great. They have a well thought out menu and more than a few options that are specialties. If we had more time and larger appetites we would've just about never left. Give them a try when you're in town.

Delicious and classic diner style breakfast. The service was very friendly, and the outdoor seating was great!

I can see why their dinner service was so slow. Just about everything tasted and looked frozen. The pizza was charred and fries were freezerburned. The ambiance and bar were admittedly nice however.
I come here every year! I was welcomed by a very busy restaurant on a Sunday (11A) for brunch. With a party of two, we waited around 40 mins (20 min given wait) and was sat outside on the deck. O…

This place is a Tahoe City staple--you don't go there for gourmet food but for very moderately priced good food. Friendly service-clean, and the food is very good!

Aside from the location, the food was pretty good. Maybe to others who have eaten here think it's their favorite spot, but to us it was pretty good. It wasn't a ten star rating, it was a 4 star rating at best. The hostess wasn't the most personable nor did she even take her own time to be polite and actually talk to us. Just because staff are in work mode, there's no need to be in a mood. At least our server was more pleasant than the hostess workers. As for the atmosphere and everything else, I did like some of the collectibles, but I didn't care for the quantity and how much there was inside. It was a bit clustered. It'll be our first and last time eating there as we are visitors.
Food was pretty good but the portions were incredibly small for the price. I get that’s it Tahoe but 16 dollars for a burrito that looks like this is ridiculous, my friend described the burrito as bland and lacking the salsa it was suppose to have. My pancakes and eggs were good but for 15 bucks isn’t super worth it. My friends scrambled eggs were also pretty tasty but again not a large portion. Hash-browns were also bland as well. However the server was nice and accommodating!
Old restaurant! The inside is kinda smelly... they have some outside/patio sitting area with old tables and chairs. The bathrooms were kinda dirty too. Our server was nice, but a very interesting lady!! Food was mediocre. I ordered egg Benedict and asked for well-done hash brown. When my food came, the hash brown was not even crispy! They had to take it back and redo it. My friends ordered American style breakfast.

Interesting cafe with an interesting collection of stuff on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. The service was good and the food average.

I was very much looking forward to this diner in Tahoe City. The food and the service were very good. The place just seemed disorganized. The menu was huge, but a disaster. The breakfast section was impossible to navigate. They don’t sell omelettes, and you can’t choose food from the dinner menu in the morning. Why give the dinner menu to us then?
