Over 40 years we’ve been coming here and it’s always been constant. I love 💕 this place for some real authentic food. Grab beer and order
The food is great and ready quickly. It's an open kitchen in the front and you can watch food being prepared. It's usually busy and full of patrons, so it can get a little loud, especially because the restaurant is very open. There's a salsa bar at the back of the restaurant.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "The best-kept secret in San Fransico!" Taqueria Pancho Villa is easily the best-kept secret in SF. While tourists line up elsewhere, you get the real, authentic experience here. We make it a tradition to visit every time we are in SF. Why you should go: * No Wait: There’s always a free table and no annoying queues. * Authentic Food: Huge portions that actually fill you up. * Top Recommendation: If you want a Burrito, you MUST order the Surf and Turf . It’s incredible! * Service & Price: The staff is always friendly and top-notch. Plus, the prices are fair without any "tourist surcharge." A clear recommendation for anyone looking for the real deal in SF!
I’d give this place 6 stars if I could! Food is great even if it’s not the cheapest. But the service is amazing! I’m from Miami. You don’t get this level of kindness and hospitality from any place. Shoutout to the nighttime manager for always being so pleasant and polite. The one time when an order of mine got forgotten, he was quick to notice before I could say anything. Everyone can slip up an order. Not everyone has a manager that will catch it to make sure it’s addressed asap and ensure the customer has a great experience.
I had such a wonderful experience at Pancho Villa Taqueria. The food was fresh and delicious, the restaurant was lively, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. After leaving, I realized I had lost four rings that I had taken off after yoga. To my surprise and relief, the staff had found them and kept them safe at the counter. I’m so grateful for their honesty and kindness. Highly recommend this place—not only for the amazing food, but also for the wonderful people working there!
I've been frequenting this establishment for decades, and the only thing that's changed meaningfully really are staff, and some of the price increases! While my $3-$5 dollar burritos are long gone, the quality ingredients wrapped in big wheat tortillas now cost more in the $13 to $18 range .After a brief pandemic era pause, they still have the self serve spicy salsa selections bar, cold beers and house made horchata. I prefer waiting in line helping build my burritos, and sitting on the short trusty ol' school leather strap stools, rather than relying on DoorDash or any of the other counter clogging app delivery services.
Ok, found this place for their afternoon happy hour of DISCOUNTED tacos. I tried SIX different tacos (each a different meat) for like $16. Agua Frescas also discounted, got chips/salsas for free. My wife tried a burrito. NOT only was everything well priced, it was ABSOLUTELY delicious. The winning meat for me was the chorizo - nicely spiced and chopped fine and grilled to a crispy consistency. All was great and happy to come back!
I’ve been trying many burritos 🌯 in SF but most of the flour tortillas of 🌯🌯 are too thick and dry. By chance, finally I found the best burritos in Mission! I ordered vegan and chicken burritos respectively. It was delicious, really authentic. Reasonable prices. Good and friendly services. Restaurant is spacious. Highly recommended. Definitely will come back again.

Food doesn't disappoint, They're always aiming to please. The sauce bar is pleasure island. The ambience is great. The service is tremendous, always aiming to please
We used to eat here frequently when we were living in the Bay Area in the 1980s-1990s. We’ve come back when we visited over the years, and it’s always been consistently perfect even after all those …
Pancho Villa never disappoints. Excellent burritos. The super combo burrito with carne and pollo asado is excellent. Too big for me to finish but happy for leftovers. Always a winning spot.

The food is solid for a fast food place. I like the al pastor (lots of pineapple) quesasilla with salsa and cheese. It's very juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside. It's also substantial in size so I have lunch the next day. You order and pay at the counter and they'll deliver your food to the table if you're dining in or you wait near the counter until your number is called if you're doing take out. There is a large salsa/ condiment bar. The restaurant is clean but no frills.
The efficiency of this place is impressive. Each person must be specialized because they each seem like they pump the food out. That makes it seem like the quality wouldn't be high but the ingredients seem pretty good and the price is good as well. The downside is that the atmosphere does seem a bit like a cafeteria instead of a restraunt but we were expecting that a bit. One of the highlights was their large salsa bar which had over a dozen salsas. We only tried three of them but they were each fresh and flavorful. The green sauce in particular was zesty. The cashiers seemed like they were in a hurry so they werent particularly friendly but they were focused on getting through the long line so I don't fault it too much. The line went pretty fast even though it was long and at the end they give you some free chips which is a bonus.
Food tastes great, service was competent, value was subpar. A nice, reliable spot for a quick, quality meal.
The food is amazing but the only Thing is that they get order wrong after you tell them after 3times the last time I order food from here I asked for "3 tacos of chorizo !"and they give me 3 tacos…
A super burrito is now 19.82 with tax\nGo elsewhere for a similar if not a better burrito from a cleaner atmosphere
Very ok burritos, nothing special. beans were soggy and meat was minimal. Salsas were ok, despite the large advertising on all the awards won for their salsas.

Went here with friends on a Sunday afternoon and there wasn’t much of a line! We tried to go to Kitchen a Story down the road but the line was too long so decided to make a stop here instead. Food: Got the complimentary nachos and the taco, and the salsa selection was quite good, though it was as quite standard. I think that the tacos had good flavors, better than the usual Mexican food place, but nothing super super mind blowing. Service: The food came out quickly, and there’s a nice system where you pay for your receipt after you get your order in. We got our food in about 10 minutes. Ambiance: This place is a great place for a quick bite when you’re hungry or need to get a burrito before a hike. Wouldn’t probably come again unless I end up in the area and it’s busy at the other places!
Never give this place a tip, the menu prices keep going up and they will not give you the extra food that you pay for. Extra meat; you still have the same amount of meat you would in the regular. The food is good but the service is very shaky, you have to watch closely or you will get got/ jipped/ ripped off ‼️ so as you can see in the photo I paid for extra meat it's on the receipt but they did not give me extra meat this place is really shady and it depends on what time of day you go weather you wait 10 or 25 minutes for your food
I paid for extra meat but as you can see in the photo they did not give me extra meat this place is shady watch them very closely The food is usually good, the service can be really crappy, and the food also depends on if they make your order as you requested. I've been coming here since I was a young child I'm now in my mid 30s. I'm disappointed today every bite has a whole bunch of fat and tendons; so I'm literally chewing my burrito and spitting out what's supposed to be all the meat. And this is the whole first half of my burrito. I had it cut in half and wrapped separately. Only to get to the end of my burrito and find that there's no meat

Pancho Villa unfortunately, is making a living from its reputation of the glory days. Grew up two blocks from here and ate here consistently in 90’s - 00’s, the decline was bearable but this visit (10 year gap at least) cemented the fact that this is NOT Pancho Villa of my childhood. $17 burrito plus $1.35 for Carne Asada is not the business. Specially since the burrito came out the same girth as a 16 oz Crystal Geyser water bottle. There are PLENTY of better taqueria options within a square mile, I’d recommend trying one of those instead. Farewell Pancho Villa… thanks for the memories.

I like the food but they always forget to include my salsa. It's clearly marked on the online order ! How can you enjoy your meal without salsa ! Bad , bad , bad service .\n\nNot happy. 0 review
Absolutely horrible. I order 3 tacos, mild salsa on the side. Waited 15 minutes, while the staff were laughing and chatting, slow service. Cashier was so disrespectful and rude. They never gave me the salsa. Meat portions are absolute garbage, I counted 12 little pieces of meat on it. 0/10 NOT worth the hype.
Disappointing. Take a look at the pic I took from their Meat Burrito menu. It clearly says 'meat' for each item, right? Meaning, for the price they clearly show, it should include meat already. But no! Once you order and say the meat you prefer, it has additional cost. In my case, I chose carne asada, and see the additional cost in my receipt. With tax, it's almost $15. At this price, you can easily get a Super Burrito in other nearby places around the Mission. And for this one, it's just a Regular with skinnier girth too. Also, the quality of carne asada was low. I had to spit out ligaments 3 times after chewing and chewing on them and they're not breaking apart. So sad because 20 years ago, my first time in SF, I went to this place and was very happy with everything. Now, they're just money, money, money and they're just riding on the reputation that they had in the past.

Casa Pancho: Killer Burritos, But Keep Your Eyes Peeled
Alright, folks, let's talk about Casa Pancho in Carrales. This isn't your fancy sit-down spot; it’s more of a bustling local institution, and a place that certainly gets people talking. If you're driving through or just need a solid meal, it's probably already on your radar, or it should be.First off, the grub. When it’s good, it’s really good. The steak burritos? Absolutely top-tier. I’ve heard folks drive all the way from Sacramento just for them, and honestly, I get it. And don't even get...
