The food was fresh and tasty. I had the chimichanga. My only detraction is that it had neither sour cream nor guacamole on the side. Wife ordered brisket tacos. We loved their salsa. I had a top shelf margarita. All was good. Atmosphere feels open with high ceilings. Host was also our server, but he covered everything with aplomb.

I've never felt so defeated in my life. El Gigante gano. It has earned its name. The price is warranted, it is not overpriced, it's just enormous. This is probably why I got two equal sized forks in my napkin. I didn't even get the full deal as I asked for no cheese or sour cream, but still definitely tasty and worth it. I asked them if I could get my photo on the wall if I ate it in under 10 minutes. They said no. Not even a shirt? Ah well.

Just recently went here for the second time, for my birthday dinner! It was just as good the second time as it was the first time! The food was absolutely amazing. Everything we had was phenomenal. Make sure you try the Elotes and the Horchata, they both were heavenly!! The atmosphere is lovely and our server Mariana was so so kind and helpful! She was able to recommend us the best dishes and was very attentive and nice. We’re already planning when we’ll be back, it’s just too good! Thank yall! 😄🌮

Overall spot was a 9/10 for me. I ordered (3) crunchy tacos, one shredded chicken, refried beans, a rice. My two beef tacos were delicious, the taco shell extra crunchy (just how I like it) but when I tried to bite into my shredded chicken taco it was a No for me. The meat either is not being cooked in a crockpot or they just rushed it out to service me. It was so tough I had to pull it out of my teeth that’s really annoying because I wanted to try it. I did request to speak with the manager then my server came out and asked, Did I not wanna pay for my food. I politely replied, Of course I’m going to pay however can the one taco be removed from my bill? She then said, I could give you a discount. I excepted that option. Left my tip, and paid the tab.

The best Tex-Mex food I have eaten in a very long time. I ordered the Papo Special. The cheese enchilada with chili con carne was divine! The beef taco was perfection. The refried beans were as good as it gets. This meal reminded me of my childhood meals with my family after church on Sunday. The food is fresh and doesn't taste like it has been reheated in a microwave. Truly authentic Tex-Mex! My server, Dulce J was attentive and pleasant. The prices were good. I will be returning in the future for more excellent meals here.

UPDATE Jan 2024: First visit last year so way overdue for follow-up lunch. Especially with SHE who cashes my retirement check. We got great service and hot food. More than enough. I posted new photos. There were more people there but left before I took photos. Also photos of surrounding area square and list of events for 2024. Plenty of free public parking for some the larger gatherings. SHE reported that the women's restroom needs an upgrade. Jan 2023: Based on recommendations on social media and proximity to my Sat activities I came here for lunch. Very good choice. I had never been in downtown Carrollton before. Plenty of parking around and off the square just follow the signs. Plenty of seating on Sat for lunch. Order taken and delivered very quickly. I opted for meal with salad taking place of refried beans. Need to keep this place in mind again when going for lunch in area.

I enjoyed eating with my family. Great atmosphere, and the service was amazing! I enjoyed the chimigana with the queso sauce over it. The beans were a bit salty, I tried eating it, but the salt just overpower it. And 11 for guacamole is insane. I'm just saying! Lol, it was a little bit of guacamole and more lettuce.

I eat here all the time and it is great. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. The only dig might be it gets loud because so many people are there. I really love this place.

Three of us stopped for dinner on a Thursday night. Got there about 5pm before the rush. We were all happy with our choices: Bandera enchiladas, steak burrito with mole sauce, and tacos al carbon. Good margaritas, and they have tequila flights. It seemed really popular in the downtown/square of Carrollton. Patio seating. Bar had happy hour specials. Street parking available.

First time visiting here. Nice atmosphere within a nice area itself here in the Carrollton historic area. Came for lunch no wait and the service was very good. Ordered the carne guisada. Not truly authentic but had a decent flavor. The chicken breast was bit dry on the second dish.

It’s been a while that I went here. I remember the restaurant was big and has good atmosphere. The food was great too. I really liked their margaritas!

We were recommended to this restaurants We are from out of town. My husband is Mexican. The food Was overly seasoned with pepper. Pepper being the main seasoning did not have any authentic Mexican flavor. The Queso was bland. The beans were good. We got the fajitas for #2 with shrimp, steak and chicken. Shrimp tasted off. And the other two meats were dry, we are very big on our Spanish food and this was not it at all!

We made our reservation days in advance to avoid any issues. Unfortunately, We arrived with a party of about 12, but the staff was not prepared. I was calling the restaurant prior to the scheduled arrival time to confirm, but they never answered any of my calls. When I stated my name, he actually told me there was no such reservation made. I was firm in the fact that indeed I had submitted the information. Once he actually opened the book, there it was. Our reservation. They started scrambling to set a long table. We had to wait past our reservation time. Once the confusion settled, the atmosphere was great. The food was amazing. Our waitress was pleasant. We did not get a heads up on last call for alcohol, so mid way threw my meal, I requested a drink to which the waitress responded the bar was closed. Usually, there is an announcement for last call, so place your final order. We were not given that option. I dislike the fact of the waitress taking her own tip automatically from my bill. We were 2 families of 12 people. We were all going to pitch in with a cash tip, but she did not make us aware of this when my husband paid the bill. We don't mind leaving a tip, that's not the issue. The issue lies in the failure to communicate.

First time here due to a coupon I received in the mail. I wasn’t aware of the “weekly specials “ and the first thing the waiter recommended was a tequila bottle and asked if we wanted a sample or an alcoholic drink ( Wednesday special ) and of course I declined for both and my daughter that’s a minor ( 14 yrs old ) that doesn’t look it. Secondly , I received a hair in my salsa and told the waitress and offered to bring me more salsa but declined, other than that the food was okay, the horchata was a little watered down. The atmosphere and the music was great but more than likely I won’t be coming back to this location unless I’m having a girls night out for drinks.

Food is okay but management seems to be mysteriously cooking the books. During our last two visits, we were told at checkout “cash only” because there computers were down. I checked with the neighboring businesses and their Internet connections were fine. Also, they would not accept our coupon on our last visit. There are better choices out there!

The pros: their happy hour margaritas are fantastic. Service was great! The cons: food was awful! Stale chips to start the meal. I got chicken enchiladas with a side of black beans and rice. The chicken was extremely dry and gross. The beans looked like they had been sitting in a pot for an entire day and then sat in the window for 3 hours.
