The food here is absolutely delicious! The Alaskan cod and chips (Sweet Potato Fries) were awesome! The shrimp was delicious as well! The clam chowder soup hit the spot! The drinks are amazing! If you are a non-drinker, like I am, I definitely try a virgin Shirley Temple and Coke with lime. 🎉 If I could give Schooners 10 Stars I would! ⭐ The staff was so kind and service was excellent! I will definitely come back here! :)

The BEST place for a wedding reception! The owner worked with us for months in advance to make sure everything was perfect for our big day! Very reasonably priced and accommodating! The food was amazing, as always, and the views are absolutely beautiful! EVERYONE at the reception RAVED about the food and the atmosphere! This has always been one of my hubby's and mine favorite places to eat when we go to the coast and they TOTALLY delivered for our wedding reception as well!

Great location with an excellent view of the beach and pier. Food is good, too, lots of variety. Onion rings are awesome! Clam chowder is think & creamy. Fish (cod or halibut) and chips are outstanding! Staff is friendly and efficient. Prices are fair. Always a must whenever we're in town.

Food was good but I expected better. The fish was fresh and well cooked but needed salt and citrus. The drinks were nice. Friendly service.

Coconut paloma was not good. Cadillac margarita was very spirit forward. Baja cod tacos were good. Burger was fine, nothing to write home about. Would say 3.5 not 4. Service was good. Server checked in with us multiple times. Ambiance was good. Deck seating upstairs had a good ocean view.

First time visit to Schooners. We showed up at lunch and able to get one of the fire pit tables for seven of us. We shared three orders of the Legendary Calamari and three orders of fries ++ beers for all. Good food. Pretty busy at lunch. Plenty of seating indoors and outside.

We stopped by for appetizers and a late lunch. We at first sat outside but the rain came in and were quickly accommodated in the bar area. The place is one of those that you remember with lots of funky decorations and plenty of atmosphere. It's located on the waterfront with decent views of the Pacific and a good bit of outdoor seating. We had the fish tacos and clam chowder and found both delicious. Service was decent and bar drinks came quickly. We will definitely be going back on our next visit. Urban Cowgill

Been a supporter for over 3 years but the last night wasn’t the best… the Cayucee cookie dessert is a fave… unfortunately the one I got tasted like it had been frozen for over a day at least. Never tasted like that before.

Drove 45 minutes to have dinner here to celebrate a friends birthday. We were sat upstairs in a table closest to the viewing area, outside. We ordered 3 glasses of wine and then ordered our main entrees. We ordered the crab cakes, the grilled salmon ceasar, and the wild caught fish, salmon, at market price. All of our dishes were delicious. Fish was very tasteful with the appropriate sauces for each dish. The corn relish with the crab cakes was paired perfectly. There were some mistakes with our order but it was fixed immediately. Dinner was actually very nice with great food and a beautiful view, service was good also. We were given our bill and we paid immediately. As we sat finishing our drinks, the hostess, Mia, requested that we get our drinks and move to the bar. Bar was crowded and loud. She stated that there was a reservation for our table. This was not expressed to us when we 1st sat down. As I visit places to review, I make notes throughout my meal. This restaurant had 5 stars until Mia told us to move on. She made me feel that since we had eaten and paid, it was time for us to move on. Well, we hadn't even discussed dessert but we sure did want more wine. This was a bit humiliating to my guests and myself. I loved the food here but because of how this was handled, I will not return. This could have been handled more appropriately.

We came to Schooners on Friday night at 8:30 PM, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. After being seated, we waited until 8:53 just to receive menus. The hostess was the only positive. She was polite, attentive, and checked on us, but it’s not her responsibility to take orders. The real issue was the complete lack of timely service. No one came to take our order for far too long, and once we finally ordered, our food didn’t arrive until 9:55 a full hour later. To make matters worse, we watched tables that arrived after us being served their meals before ours. When our appetizer finally came out (steamed clams), the garlic bread was burnt. For the main dishes, the steak was prepared well, but the lobster tail was overcooked. After waiting that long, it made the entire experience even more frustrating. Overall, this was one of the slowest and most poorly managed dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The wait times were unacceptable, the food uneven, and the lack of communication from the staff made the situation worse. If not for the kind hostess, the night would have been a total loss.

7/2024: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 8/2025: ⭐⭐ The bartender didn't seem to care we we there. She took forever to get anything at all. The oysters were fresh, but overly huge. The fish and chips were mid grade at best. The batter was falling off and the underside was very soggy. I asked for ketchup for the chips, and she gave me a bottle of Heinz that has seen better days. I also had a very sweet taste that made me think it had gone bad. I asked for a new bottle and she said "it's not bad it's just the brand we use", uhhhh..yeah, but the bottle from 2021 that was melting from sitting out in the sun, says otherwise. They're either illegally using another brand (which sucks) in a Heinz bottle or it was Heinz gone terribly bad. Either way, it shows the lack of effort by the management. False advertising is lame. We had a great experience last summer, but not this one. Not sure we'll be back again.

The staff that we interacted with were fairly cordial. Not over the top welcoming, but not inattentive either. Atmosphere was great. We sat in the bar area with gorgeous ocean views! But the food....such a letdown. I'd been here for dinner previously, and there is a big difference between the lunch and dinner menu service. Lunch was disappointing. The food came out room temp, not piping hot. The fish was soggy and kind of bland. It needed the sauce to make it taste good. My friend's burger was the same. It left a bad taste in her mouth. The fries were cold and not appetizing as well. Overall, it was not close to what I remembered from a previous visit. Neither of us ate much, and this is from a couple of besties who ALWAYS finish food. Maybe they truly shine on dinner dining experiences, not lunch, so plan accordingly!
