Super, healthy quick dinner... Enjoying Caz & The Tree Lighting tonight. Celebrating our friends' 1st year in their new "old Caz home!"
Great spot for lunch! Excellent food! Very nice atmosphere! The ciabatta is the best I have ever had!
On our way up to the Niagara Falls, and found this gem on the way up. A family owned coffee shop with great service and spectacular food -- highly recommended!
Had 2 pour over coffees. Barista was very nice and helpful. Coffee was great, made perfectly. Very cozy atmosphere.
This is a nice little jewel in the village of Cazenovia. The service team is always kind and cordial and the food and drinks always fresh.
Really fantastic coffee, great food, and a chilled out coffeehouse atmosphere. One of my favorite places in Caz.
Happy to find good espresso in this town. A bit hard to find. They share the entrance with a real estate office. Coffee and service is great.
Order a hot chai and the chipotle chicken panini. My friend had the mushroom panini. Nom nom!!
High quality local ingredients, consistently tasty and a chill easy going atmosphere. Best coffee in Caz.
Went with my daughter for coffee and breakfast. Great atmosphere, great coffee. Enjoyed it.
Awesome food and coffee! Great atmosphere! And they staff was so nice! ❤
I was looking for some place for lunch not too far from Skaneateles for a short motorcycle ride thought this place might be OK. I was wrong! It was great!!
Lovely service and delightful staff. Great breakfast and lunch options. Love the lattes! Neat spot.
great sandwiches do good job keeping it simple
Food was good.
What a quaint cafe serving lovely tasting paninis with just a smudge of salad. It is perfect. The dressing on the salad is very good….but the best was…. THE PECAN BOURBON BAR…to die for!!! I need that recipe. If I can’t have it, please tell me who makes them. I will order them. So, so delicious!!! Thanks for a lovely and yummy time. PS. Met the nicest patron…a young girl from caz, college…just charming and with her cute boyfriend !!Fun Caroline
Good coffee, good food. The daily specials are usually inventive and tasty. The coffee is Gimme! Coffee, which is based out of Ithaca. The atmosphere is really laid back and comfortable. Staff are really friendly.
I love this place. It's like being at home. The service is very friendly, the place is warm and the food and coffee are fantastic.
This is a spot that I and my fiance will always find ourselves going back to. Great food, great spot, nice people, friendly atmosphere, and some damn good coffee. I hope they never close up shop because this is one of those Mom and Pop cafes that never disappoints.
My favorite cafe in Caz, and I've been to them all! Staff are very friendly and the food and coffee is excellent. Great place to get work done or just relax!
Very cute place, both the food and coffee are excellent. If I have to say anything bad it's that it's always quite busy when I go in so sometimes it's a long-ish wait (just goes to show how good it is though) :-).
Great local cafe and staff! They serve delicious local Utica coffee! If you're looking for a delicious and healthy place to eat or grab lunch then this is it. They also serve alcoholic beverages.
The cafe was warm and inviting. The food was delicious 😋. We really enjoyed our meal.
Good service. Cozy places to sit. Delicious chai latte and cappuccino. House-made flavors and pastries
SO pleasantly surprised. I am vegan and bf is vegetarian. Stopped here aftering hiking around the area. Got the veggie hummus wrap and he got the caprese panini. I expected a dry veggie mix wrap with some hummus slathered on it. Instead I got a warm pressed wrap with an amazing Italian tossed vegetable mix with a DELICIOUS and highly flavorful hummus. WOW. I need to know how they make it!! Bf said his caprese was "really really good". We scarfed our food down. Will definitely reccomend and be back! Making the simple foods tasty and crave worthy again! 😋
Pewter spoon has delicious coffee and flavorful soup, sandwich and salad offerings. Seating is comfortable but can get busy around lunchtime. It is a lovely place to meet for a cup of coffee or a simple meal.
It was Good. Im vegan, and ended up getting the daily special (no cheese no mayo sub hummis) It was what I expected for a $9 sandwich, flavor was incredible, ciabatta bread was a bit hard.
It’s an unassuming place that can get overwhelmed at busy times, but the Mushroom Panini was easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten!!!
Great gimme coffee! We had a wonderful salad and panini. Definitely recommend when looking for a quick bite eat while driving through Casanovia!
Wonderful lattes and the food selections are good, too. And I have to say the vibe is what I love the most.
Omg, the grilled cheese with pepper jelly......Yaaaass! Saved me at the inagural Caz Pride event. It was so good. I don't go out for coffee as a rule but I will definitely make an exception to go back to this place.
Great food and atmosphere. Generally only one person running the register and making drinks, so the line can be a little show at peak times, but definitely worth it.
I love this place and always stop when I'm in the area. The coffee/food is delicious and the staff are so friendly :)
I love their veggie hummus with goat cheese wrap. Their chai tea latte is yummy, too! It is homemade. They have free Wi-Fi and a great music selection.
I love the coffee and food here so much! Best coffee in caz and amazing service:)
Delicious coffee and tea beverages ! And, the salads and sandwiches are fresh and tasty! They are doing it right in the quaint village of Cazenovia! Lovely staff too!
Wow! All I can say is wow. The mushroom panini was divine and the latte was the best I've ever had. My girlfriend had the vegan panini and thought it was fantastic.
And fresh bread too. I had Chabota loaf for home. What a treat form a great Cazenovia business.
Delicious paninis! Small space, so you might need to wait for a table. Good coffee/espresso drinks, too.
This place is small but very wonderful. I absolutely love the food here, it's a definite cafe to visit if you get the chance!
Cozy & Cute coffee shop in the heart of Cazenovia! Friendly staff, clean environment, and great menu options. Stop by and try it for yourself!
The lavender oat milk latte was fabulous! Paired with the peppery egg sandwich made for a perfect breakfast! Cozy atmosphere and quick service when the place was packed!
Such a cute space with delicious food and drinks! The atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy. Service was quick and the staff were kind. The food was out of this world! I had the Caprese Panini, it was very juicy, absolutely phenomenal. 😁
In Cazenovia for the weekend and needed breakfast. Pewter spoon looked good and did not disappoint. Service and food were outstanding. Really fresh and well prepared ingredients, great coffees We all left very happy!
While busy, they were more than reasonable with their wait times. When the food arrived, it was delightfully fresh and flavorful. The coffee shop / Bistro vibe was welcoming and comfortable. Highly recommend
I love this place. Best cafe in town. They make literally the best cappuccino I have ever had in my entire life. They have gluten free options and amazing sandwiches. Every employee has been nothing but Wonderful to me and my family.
This place is a great hidden gem in the central ny/finger lakes area... Wish they were slightly larger on weekends, so I just get to go! Best tea and panini
A great place to stop in for a filling sandwich and soup. The daily specials include types of tea, sandwiches, and soups. Every experience I have had here has been fantastic. The employees are laid back and listen to what you want instead of staring you down as you decide what you want. Fresh baked goods are available and all their food is made fresh the day before or that morning. A lot of their options cater toward vegans but they can be modified if you ask; Even if you may not be vegans, they are still enjoyable!
Such a cozy Cafe. Great coffee selections, tea also offered. I had a panini with pears. I do not remember all the ingredients but it was delicious. My friend had an egg bowl. Very popular spot in Cazenovia!
The Pewter Spoon is a true local establishment. Been going here for years for breakfast, coffee meetings, and chats with the owners. Cannot overstate the quality and thought put into their food and offerings.
Do NOT go on a Tuesday. I think they're the only place open in town. Got slammed with three large groups and service lagged pretty hard. Did their best to keep up and no complaints when everything arrived fresh and hot. Try the crumb cake, won't be disappointed. It is SMALL inside. One loud talker will drown out any conversation you're trying to have at the table. Interested to see what it's like when they're not the only place open.
Great food. Latte tasted. Pumpkin soup was the best I've tried. But the grilled chicken was a bit dry. Loved the beet and carrots wrap. Order online, they don't allow any people inside.
Coffee and teas are excellent here, and the food is freshly made in-house. Perfect place to stop by with friends and catch up over a small meal and a drink.
A few years ago I stumbled upon this sweet gem while visiting friends. I fell in LOVE with their delicious and amazing paninis. My favorite was the Turkey, Brie, and Granny Smith. Since then when I found myself in the area, I will make it point to drive into town of Caz to pick up a fresh baked sweat and a delicious panini.
Pewter Spoon has become a definitive stop in the Central New York area. It is a cozy cafe with strong baking and cooking. It is run by the very friend Carmeli family. Beware, as customer lines are frequent. There is nice seating inside, and some tables outside. They offer a good to-go service. And you can have frequent sightings of local celebrities here. Here is my older review from 5 years ago- Pewter Spoon offers an impressively consistent environment for coffee, tea, and food that is tasty. Look out for the breakfast Ciabattas such as the Peppery and the Southwestern. They are tasty and satisfying. Baked products are very good, as is the coffee.
the best panini sandwiches I've ever had. their coffee is one of the bests as well. very nice environment, music is very chill and staff are super nice. I can eat here every day, very meal.
The turkey panini was beyond my expectations! Presentation, taste and care to create is very much appreciated. And for dessert, a hot from the oven gooey chocolate chip cookie! Outstanding!
Great coffee, love the Granny salad. Legitimately delicious cold brew as well. Service is occasionally a little less than outstanding, but it's a great people watching post up near the windows.
Very popular spot - it was packed even on a sleepy winter Sunday! The mushroom panini was delicious, with fresh and wholesome ingredients. Best lunch spot on Cazenovia high street.
Everyone there is always so friendly and easy to work with They make a pesto chicken sandwich That is fricken amazing I drive past here lot for work and stop here at least twice a month to get that beautiful sandwich!!!!!!!
Okay here me out the dining room isn’t big enough. That said this place is majestic. Food-delicious, atmosphere cozy when not over crowded, and just a delightful little restaurant with good eats and delicious drinks! I’ve tried breakfast and lunch here as well as a few beverages and I have not been let down yet!!!
It is not an exaggeration when I say that Pewter Spoon is one of the best lunch stops in the state. This is not just because of the food, which is always reliable and comforting, but because of the people who run it and work there. They are some of the kindest people you'll ever meet and have given our family so much. The staff they hire is the best: kind, genuine, caring people who make sure you (and your stomach!) leave the place happy. Now lets get back to the food. They have a variety of paninis and salads, and always have interesting specials if you get there early enough. They also have a few baked goods/cookies (highly recommend the berry jam oat bar!). A couple of outdoor tables to go with eight indoor tables and a counter top make for a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel at home, especially on rainy or snowy days. The drinks are solid too!
The paninis were all fantastic. The three of us had three different ones, and we all thought ours were excellent. Great place!
My wife and I had a fantastic lunch at The Pewter Spoon Cafe, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. The menu offered a great variety, and everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. The attention to detail in the preparation of the food was evident, and the quality truly stood out. What made our visit even more memorable was the friendly and attentive staff. They made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The Pewter Spoon Cafe is a gem, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious food and a warm, inviting atmosphere!
We had a DELICIOUS lunch and grabbed coffee to go. We had Franke’s Egg Sandwich, which was a daily special. It was a fried egg, tomato, cream cheese, dill and Gouda cheese served on a thin and crunchy toasted ciabatta bread. FANTASTIC! We also tried Clyde’s Toast (yum) and an oak milk latte and a cappuccino. This a a great spot for a breakfast or lunch. It’s conveniently located a couple of doors down from the Lincklaen Inn, so it’s perfectly located on the main street through Cazenovia!
A morning at Pewter Spoon, starting the day with some breakfast sandwiches, treats and coffee and if you're in the area you might want to start your day, this way, every day. What a cute place, tucked in with some other businesses, but laid out well enough to accommodate a decent morning rush, with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was busy, yet everything was moving efficiently, which I was very impressed by. The sandwiches we got were delightful, not too heavy, but not overly light either. The breakfast treat in the berry bar was the same way, and my wife loved the iced mocha she got. I think this is an obvious choice for a simple and clean breakfast. But don't go too far away, they do service throughout the day, and after the breakfast we had, I wouldn't hesitate to go back for lunch and more. Enjoy!
This was a great place to get some breakfast sandwiches and coffee after hiking some of the local trails. Very busy and popular place, but still quiet and peaceful to have conversation with others. Food was prepared in a timely manner and tables were kept clean as people left. The plants and wall decor is nice also, provides a relaxing feel. I recommend giving it a try.
The food there is always good as well as the drinks. It is a friendly, comfortable place. The workers are always kind and I like it there a lot.
Had a Mediterranean veggie wrap and some lemon mint tea. It was tasty and filling. Nice lunch spot.
Atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Food is good. Our wait for our food was a bit lengthy on this visit.
The Pewter Spoon is great. Food is great, drinks are great. However, they do charge for non-dairy milk. If I could give 4 and 1/2, I would.
Had the pumpkin latte! Love pumpkin anything. They don't do the pour over during busy hours that's why I gave 4 star but overall great place
Stopped by here for lunch while on vacation. Great menu (I highly recommend the chicken pesto panini!) Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Will be stopping by again!
The homemade hummus was very good. The ciabatta bread was fresh. Overall good place for a relatively quick and healthy meal
The food is very, very good. Tasty and nice selections. Fresh. Many GF options. My only concern is their service is not well organized. They could do a lot more business if they improved the front end of the process. Maybe it’s another employee. Maybe a different system. Today 12 people were in line when we left and it took 10 minutes to get two iced teas to go. That’s 10 minutes after we ordered and paid. We waited 15 minutes to place the order and pay. There must be a better system because we all want the PS to succeed.
For the most part this was exactly what it looked like from Yelp and their own website: coffee shop / bistro of the type easily found in larger cities like San Francisco and more cosmopolitan small cities like Ithaca (and not so easy to find in most of upstate NY). The bread is definitely a cut above average. If sounds like what you want, you won't really be disappointed. I took one star off because neither I nor the person with me picked up readily on the cues: which door to enter, whether the server would come to our table (no, not to take the order or bring the drinks; but yes, to bring the sandwiches) or whether it was up to us to add cream as desired (yes). These are not fatal problems but they did distract from the experience. I would try painting the wrong door a darker color and the right door a brighter color, moving the condiments to be more visible as you order, and trying for a prominent sign that says "Order here first."
I have stopped in here two times as of today, the service was much better today than the last time i came in around May of this year. For cafe food it is reasonably priced (im used to sandwiched being more expensive at coffee shops so that was nice) Reason things aren't a 5/5 is the service the first time i went the counter person wasn't the friendliest person and i felt i was an inconvenience for ordering a lavender latte with oat milk. Their espresso is bitter compared to most cafe lattes ive had. It tastes like its a darker roast rather than a light/ medium that i look for in a latte. Not bad quality just not my taste not mention, less caffeine. This was the case both times i came here.
My partner and I came to this cafe after looking for a quick to-go coffee spot. We did come around 11am on Sunday, so we did end up waiting a bit for our order to be taken. Once we got to the register, staff was welcoming and friendly, appreciating our patience. They have decent prices, especially for their sandwiches. My only criticism is that the indoor dining area is fairly small, so if you are a person taking your items to go, there isn’t really much space to wait without feeling like you’re on top of the tables/other guests. But let me tell you, my iced hazelnut latte was EXCELLENT. A fear with lattes is them being too milky and overpowering the coffee flavor, however this latte was the opposite. Excellent quality bean. One of the best coffees I’ve had in a long time. I inhaled it. I will definitely back to try the food, however I will ABSOLUTELY come back for the coffee whenever I visit.
The food offerings are very limited. The staff was friendly, but seemed to be confused at times. My order was lost for a while and the counter person was really confused when I asked for the cup of coffee to be poured into a to-go container (which is what I had ordered and was written on the order sheet).
Food was very good. The person taking the order and making coffee was completely miserable/borderline rude.
I went for the first time and the food I had was pretty good. Service was ok, for counter food. Thought the coffee was really good so I thought I would buy a bag to take home after I ate. So, I grabbed a bag off the shelf and went to the counter to pay for it. I stood at the counter for several moments, the only one there, employees going back and forth. They saw me there but seemed to ignore me. After a few minutes, without even a simple acknowledgement, I put the bag of coffee down and left.
I walked in to order two sandwiches to go. It took 45 minutes from the time I left my car to the time I got back to my car and i was parked right out front. I was told that each sandwich is made fresh which is good but it still should not have taken 45 minutes to make 2 simple sandwiches. I will never go hear for food and probably won't even go for coffee.
The people behind the counter were not very welcoming or helpful. First time here, didn't leave a great impression. 30$ for 2 sandwiches and a cup of coffee. Eggs tasted rubbery, like they were microwaved, but it took 25 minutes so who knows. Here's the thing that pissed me off. We sat a a small 2 top as to leave bigger tables for others, despite my husband being very tall with long legs. While eating, an employee came over and pushed a 3rd chair between us, hitting our legs!!! That couldn't have waited until we finished? Also, that 30$ didn't include tip. They clearly expected a tip but we regret leaving one. No service at all.
Awful awful awful. Will never come back and do not recommend. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Am Yisrael Chai.
Felt like this cafe had good potential but the ladies behind the counter definitely killed the vibe.
The food and coffee was good but both mornings I came in the people taking my oder are rude and seemed bothered to do the job . Recommend not asking for a cup of water with your sandwich
