Great place! Good food, good friendly people. Traveling thru from out of state and found this place by accident. Whas not in the mood for more fast food. So we gave it a try and it was well worth it. Then I mention the prices are very reasonable too?

The prices here were surprisingly cheap and the food was very good. Our group was from quite a ways out of town, so we hadn't dined here before. Everyone left very happy. We would definitely eat here again!

The food is great, there's maybe two or three waitresses that keeps coffee in your cup, but otherwise it's good service. I would recommend Dave's restaurant to anyone that likes buffets or orders off of the menu. They're a lot cheaper than pizza ranch, even though I like pizza ranch once in a while. Make Dave's restaurant your go to place for great food.

This little hidden gem is less than 2 miles off of US-218 in St. Charles. Needing to kill some time to let the rain pass, we pulled around 11am on Thursday. The food was absolutely wonderful, and the prices were great. I had the lunch buffet and my wife had a 3 egg omlette. The homemade beef noodle soup was just like mom used to make and spectacular. I had 2 bowls. All for less than $20. Where else today can you find that? If you're passing St. Charles, IA on US-218, you gotta stop and check out this awesome little restaurant.

Amazing, local spot. On most occasions, will exceed expectations in most categories. Our most recent did not. Everything was delicious as ever. That being said, the portions were tiny (our hodge podge had one(1)mozzarella stick, burger was small) and the cashier definitely did not want to be there, working. This will not affect me coming back, or recommending. The prices are great, portions are(normally) plentiful. And the service, both welcoming and friendly. -Called ahead at 1045am sat morning(terrific phone service!) -Had food ready upon arrival(12mins.) -3 entrees and the hodge podge was the order. -total was $30.00(with 4.89) gratuity.

The service was so friendly and helpful. The buffet my daughter ate looked really good. Great variety and good price. The steak and eggs I ordered was excellent. Neat restaurant with a fun ambiance. I will be back again.

Stopped in for late breakfast. Buffet was switching to lunch items, but kept breakfast full for the guests. Cashier had a VERY LONG line due to credit cards, but she was apologetic . Place was near full.. Breakfast Food was pretty good, however, our piece of chicken tasted like old grease.. a little pink in the middle is always a turn off for me... but everything else seemed yummy.

this place is well known for its buffet at an affordable price. it would be hard to go home hungry after eating here with the big selection. each day has a variety of items on the menu and I particularly love the burger bar and the potato bar if you hit the right days for that.

Service is always horrible. We have given this restaurant many chances thinking maybe it will get better. Every single time we've been there, we wait a minimum of 10 minutes before we are offered drinks. Today we had to actually get up to find someone to give our drink order to! We are left waiting Every. Single. Time. Food is mediocre. The breakfast buffet is equal to the free continental breakfast at a hotel... You know the stuff that is microwaved & processed, not homemade. We are very forgiving on service as nobody is perfect & everyone has a bad day. The restaurant is clean. Today was the breaking point for us. We will go to Floyd or New Hampton for breakfast from now on. Dave's is definitely not worth my time or money.
