I appreciate the few times I have been to this restaurant. It is a pleasant place: beautiful, clean, very spacious, and with huge parking. The staff is always professional. The food is good with generous portions. I particularly love their lamp chops and salmon. However, I sometimes find the “rosemary garlic potatoes” to be too salty, but that is just my personal taste. Overall, I always have a good time here.

Honestly it’s my second time there and the food was still delicious! It’s big portions so come hungry! I loved the carbonara pasta 🤤 My fiance and I were celebrating our anniversary so they gave us a complimentary champagne

Everything is great about this. No complaints 😂 love the food, vibes and service. We come here often. Ordered lamb chops they were good, chicken was also good, pizzas all good. I also ordered their pork chop and they recommended to try it medium. Which is kind of weird for pork. We send it back to get it cooked more and it was fine. Overall good spot 👌

This was my first time dining experience at this establishment, and I was thoroughly delighted with the ambiance, the service, and particularly, the cuisine. We visited to commemorate my daughter-in-law's birthday, and it was truly a wonderful occasion. My sincere appreciation goes out to the employees of Viron Rondo for their outstanding service.

We came as a group of 6 for our first time at Viron Rondo Osteria, and it was an excellent experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and plenty of parking. Our host, Mark, was outstanding — very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. As soon as we were seated, we were served water and fresh bread, which set a nice tone for the afternoon. For appetizers, we shared the calamari, which was perfectly cooked and delicious. For our main courses, we tried the Prime Rib, Carbonara pasta, and Margherita pizza. The prime rib was cooked exactly as requested and came with creamy mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Everyone at the table was very satisfied with their meals. For drinks we had Mojito, Frozen fruit punch drink and a cocktail. Well prepared. We ended with dessert — the almond raspberry cake — and it was absolutely incredible, a perfect finish. The restaurant was very clean, the service attentive, and the overall atmosphere warm and inviting. We left very happy and will definitely be returning soon.

We went here to celebrate our anniversary. Had we wanted to sit outside, we most likely would have needed reservations, but we were fine with dining inside, so we were seated quickly. We were served some sort of big salad to start things off - they said it was good for digestion. I believe it was a Mediterranean Salad. It was a little bitter, so it takes an acquired taste. We both liked it. They also brought over a variety of breads that were good. As for my actual meal, I had the chicken parmigiana. It was very good. Wife had the salmon, which she enjoyed. For dessert, I had a way overstuffed, delicious cannoli while my other half had tiramisu. Everyone we interacted with was very nice. Our server Bella was great. This place is huge, but there is overflow parking way in the back. It is a little expensive here, but everything was great, so no complaints here…

Such a beautiful restaurant. Plenty of parking, beautiful outdoor seating, huge bar area. The food was spot on. The pasta dishes were made perfectly! And we took home a yummy piece of tiramisu. You won't be disappointed. Our wait staff was very professional and pleasant! Oh, and don't forget your wallet! Well worth it !!!

This is a great place to dine, especially with a big crew. Their family sized dishes will feed a small army! Even single servings are pretty large feeding 3-4 people! The food was hot, well seasoned, and delicious! The patio area is enormous with lots of seating on pleasant days. Lots of parking, 2 very large bars, one inside, and one outside. Definitely put this on your list as a #1 destination for a great dining experience with a wonderful staff!

Wonderful dining experience with a beautiful garden setting and plenty of outdoor seating. The green peppers appetizer was delicious. All portions are generous. Friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of parking.

I’ve been dining at Viron Rondo for years, and I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal. This restaurant is consistently excellent — from the quality of the food to the warm, welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service. Every dish is made with flavor, whether it’s a classic pasta, a perfectly cooked steak, or one of their appetizers. The ingredients are always fresh, the presentation is beautiful, and the portions are generous without being overdone. The ambiance is another major draw… classy and cozy, perfect for everything from a romantic night out to a celebratory dinner with friends. It strikes the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable. And a huge shoutout to Viron himself, the heart of this restaurant. He’s not just a name on the sign… you’ll often see him walking around, checking in with guests, and even jumping in to assist his team wherever needed. That kind of hands-on leadership and genuine care really sets the tone for the whole experience. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a longtime regular like me, Viron Rondo always makes you feel like part of the family. Can’t recommend it enough!

Ok, let's do it. Talk about great service and good food and plenty of it. They warn you before you order. My friend warned me before I went that the apps are going to be enough im not going to need dinner. SHE WAS RIGHT😂😂 We ordered mommy's chips, which were phenomenal, lightly seasoned, and crispy. We also had frito misto and the apple salad it was enough to feed 4 people. We couldn't finish it. We ordered a chicken parm dinner before we left, and we got three servings out of it. We got lucky with two top notch top tier waitresses, Kaylin and Olivia. Thank you both so much for making our dining experience a great one. We will definitely be back. Thanks again

Always an incredible dining experience. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're on vacation at some exclusive destination. The service is top notch. The food is out of this world. The mussels, meatballs, whipped ricotta, & burrata apps are all incredible and filling enough to eat as a dinner. The pastas, pizzas, salads, & chicken dishes are better than mom's! Great cocktails too!! Warning!! Save room for desserts... yes with an s... they're so scrumptious you'll want to try them all!!

We were there yesterday for “Social Hour” (arrived at 3pm). The two other couples had been there on a previous occasion and it was my first time. Large parking lot and very noticeable is the well kept landscape and overall very nice outside dining area. Very pretty decorated interior and we had no waiting time as we were pleasantly greeted and seated near the large bar. Service was very good and our server (Xiomara) was just so pleasant and accommodating to our questions and quirks as our whole group usually has lots of questions plus opinions on the selection and quality of food and spirits. A couple of minor order issues but quickly resolved professionally and without any cause for inconvenience on both sides (customer and server). Since it was “Social Hour “ we practically ordered one of everything on the social hour menu and everything was delicious. Yeah, it was very positive and hope to make it back in the future.

I was visiting for a week and my family had suggested this place as they’ve been here before and loved it. We came for happy hour twice because I really loved it. We had drinks and apps off of their happy hour menu. My favorite was my mother’s chips and I enjoyed the soup of the day which was a mushroom soup. Service was really good and each time we had a funny server there is plenty of parking and they have an overflow lot, which is well indicated with multiple signs. The next time I come and visit Connecticut I am going to request to come here again for happy hour multiple times.

1.26.25 We always enjoy our experience here. The dinner portions are very generous. The food presentation is beautiful and the rooms are nicely decorated. The drinks, drinks, and desserts are amazing. There's indoor and outdoor seating and lots of parking. This place is great for happy hour, date nights, and family events. Well done, Viron! My vote for one of the best CT restaurants.

The restaurant is massive. 3 bars, one of them is outside. We sat in the outdoor area it was genuinely beautiful. I had the seasonal sangria to drink and it was so refreshing. I also had the rigatoni bolognese. My friend and I shared the peppers. Which were absolutely amazing. Our server was attentive (despite the busyness of his waiting area!) He was kind. They took my allergy note very seriously!

The most delicious pasta. The aura, exterior, interior, waitstaff, olives filled bucket, the chandelier, the cleanliness. Everything is top notch.

Easily the best restaurant within a 20-30 mile radius. Excellent high quality food, terrific friendly service, and a joyful welcoming ambiance. Get the veggie chips, the chicken parm, the chicken Marsala, a few glasses of Italian red and you can’t go wrong. Portions are generous. Shoutout to our servers Stelios and Senay for treating us and taking care of us. Viron is friendly to families, they’ve got high chairs for babies/toddlers and it’s just a great place to enjoy a meal with your loved ones, feel like family, get taken care of, and forget about the outside world for an hour or two.

Thank you Chad B. for making our first time here a great one! My fiancé and I found this place on TikTok and wanted to check it out and we were not disappointed at all. The portions are huge, the service was fast and good, and we would come here again :)

Came here a couple weeks ago and was super impressed by the food! We ordered cocktails, a family sized salad for the table (which could have been a main meal for all 7 of us), and the bolognese for my main meal. Service was good, especially considering we ate on a weekend night, and the quality of the food was excellent. The food can be a little on the pricier side but you definitely get a lot of it and it’s definitely worth it. I always come here when I know I want good service and a good meal.

Amazing restaurant in Cheshire. Ate outside and had the veal parmigiana with pasta. Need to have a glass of white or red wine to pair so much food had to pass on desert till next time. A definite stop for a wonderful dinner and atmosphere

BLESS THE GENERAL

They offer an upscale dining experience, so please be aware that you will be paying for that. I wouldn't say it's overpriced, but it is on the higher side and well worth it. We spent around $350 for a party of 4, not including the tip. Upon arrival, the host will ask questions like if you prefer darker, brighter, quiet, or lively seating and will seat you accordingly. The waitstaff is very attentive, and they check in regularly. Apps and drinks came out right away with a little longer wait for the main course. The sauce was great, and the chicken and eggplant exceeded all expectations. However, the calamari was a bit rubbery and tough. That would be the reason for the 4-star food rating. The biggest downside is the parking lot. It is a very busy restaurant, and finding a spot can be pretty hard. The lanes are tight with a lot of one ways that people don't seem to follow, but you can't blame the restaurant for their patrons driving. Overall, this is a very nice place to go out with family or on a date. Highly recommend, and I will definitely be back.

The food is fantastic each time I go. I ate outside recently for the first time and wasn't a fan of the chairs on the main patio. However, the tables were spaced well, and umbrellas were brought out when the sun the building and trees could no longer provide shade.

JAY SPOT REVIEW

Excellent quality Italian food and very good service. On this occasion we had a party of 15 people. The truth is, they served us super fast. The food was good, and also the bread starter! We loved the cocktails, they were good with a super good level of alcohol. Likewise, the parking lot was super convenient, it seems that in summer they have a super good atmosphere. Personally, I like the chicken pasta. I loved them, I recommend them for an outing with your partner or large groups!

I can’t say enough good about this dining experience. We started off with the frozen rosé limoncello, appetizers my mother’s chips, muscles, and a delicious pasta dish with broccoli and sausage. Of course they brought bread to the table accompanied by Greek olives. The atmosphere was very European that went along with the food and the service is like no other. It’s called…they take care of their customers. I will be going there weekly now for the entertainment on Friday nights, they have live cover bands. Don’t miss out.

This place is my favorite in CT. It is 25 minutes drive away from my home but very worth! This time I tried their social hour menu and it came in a very good price. Although it is smaller than their regular menu size, it’s still good portion. Espresso martini was 9$/reg14$, and Italian chopped salad was a good choice for just 10$. We also had pizza for 13 dollars and our bill was below 50$, compared to usual 70-75 dollars without a tip. I recommend it to everyone who wants to try a real food in affordable prices; a good restaurant vibe is a bonus!

The food is worth the money you spend. We like to come here every six months or so my girlfriends and I. The mothers chips are amazing. Calamari fantastic. We also like to order the charcuterie board. And depending on who really are with they do make gluten-free accommodations for us. We have tried a variety of foods there. I recently ordered the apple salad and added grilled chicken. It was fantastic and there was plenty of food left over the next day. Depending on where are you set in the place I can get a little loud especially on Friday nights. But they do offer when they see you if you’d like to set an on the bar area or the quieter area. You can also sit outside and nicer weather.

I’ve been here a few times and each time I’ve gone the food has been delicious. Always popular, parking lot can be busy but we always end up finding a spot. I’ve always made a reservation before coming here. Staff has been friendly and attentive. Beautiful chandelier. Must try “My mother’s chips” which is friend zucchini and eggplant slices.

Fantastic Dining and BirthdaySave! My wife and I recently had an incredible dinner at Viron Rondo Osteria in Cheshire. The atmosphere was beautiful and the meal was excellent, but the real highlight was the dessert. My wife had the coconut cake and declared it to be the best she has ever tasted. She loved it so much I wanted to get it for her upcoming birthday party. The staff at Viron Rondo were extremely helpful and connected me with their supplier, Hardcore Sweet Bakery in Watertown. Working with the bakery to secure the birthday cake was easy as they are great to deal with as well. Both of these local spots are top notch and a pleasure to deal with. Between the stunning hospitality at Viron Rondo and the incredible craftsmanship at Hardcore Sweet Bakery, we will definitely be returning to both very soon.

Each time I come to Viron Rondo, I have an absolutely spectacular experience! The food is always top notch, the ambience is perfect, and the drinks are tasty. My only small complaint is that on the weekends they are often severely under-staffed and wait times are long to be served. Other than that, this is one of the best dining experiences in the state. Very pricey, but well worth it. I can't wait to return!

I went here with two of My best friends we celebrated two birthdays this place is amazing. It was my first time coming here they had already been. The food was amazing as well as the atmosphere and the service. Our server was so sweet. She was very accommodating. I almost I wish I asked what her name was. We were there on a Monday during social hour right next to the fireplace. I will definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. It’s the best Italian food I’ve had so far compliments to the Chef!!!

Went last night (Saturday) table 302B. 1st time at the restaurant and we’re quite shocked at the size of the place, huge! BUT not lacking of service. Our waitstaff Olivia M. was literally on the mark all night. She was friendly, kind, helpful with meal choices and one of the best servers I have had in ages. Great food and portions sizes. The restaurant itself was Decorated beautifully, modern and classic at the same time the seats were heavy plastic and so comfortable. Very nice bar scene and seemingly nice clientele. Will go back for sure.

Awesome delicious food top notch. Enough food on your plate to take leftovers. Share the salad for 2. I love this place. The waiter Chad wonderful individual professional, attentive. He allowed us to taste the best lentil soup took, us back to our grandmother's recipe this is how good the lentil soup is. Owner working hard and very nice man praying for much success. Very well deserved. Hard work pays off. Beautiful decor restaurant and spacious. I will be telling everyone about this place make reservations for sure. Parking I wish was better but, because food and atmosphere and professionalism of staff is awesome. I'll walk it's worth it.

Fabulous place to have dinner. Drinks are on the high side and even if you have reservations there is still a wait. I would not let that deter you from having a nice evening out. Especially during the warmer months.

The appetizer were delicious. The food was very good, some dishes were better than others. All in all a great place. The drinks were very good. Just for reference it was a holiday so they were very busy. I'm sure on a regular day food is impeccable all around. Beautiful place for outside dinner and drink. Great date night spot.

(Last visited May 26, 2023.) My wife and I have heard so much about this place so on a random Friday evening we managed to snag a reservation to finally check this place out! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is BEAUTIFUL. It's also huge AND very popular. Parking was a bit of a nightmare to be completely transparent. There is a parking lot directly next to the restaurant, but that was filled to the max. Then there's like, an overflow lot behind that one, but it's backed up against what looks like shipping containers, a cinderblock factory or something. Lol. It's a little sketch, but we weren't the only ones that needed to park that far away. No worries. Once we finally made it to the exterior host stand we were told we still had to wait for our table to be ready and it was SO BUSY. Like, impressively busy, plus it was really nice out so folks were sitting outside. So there's like 4 different seating areas here. Two of them are outside with one of them being right up against the street, but kinda separated by foliage and such. The 2nd outdoor seating is around the side of the building under a series of different shape coverings which is where we were finally able to be sat. Then there are 2 more indoor sections, but I cannot reiterate how big this place was and how busy it was! Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but from what I can remember, we had little to no issues here. Food: So... we heard the food here was really OFF THE CHAIN. My and my wife's experience differed just a bit. They start you off with fluffy rolls and an olive medley. Everything was delicious and we had no complaints here! Next up we had to try the famous "My Mother's Chips". These are thin, crispy eggplant and zucchini slices that have been battered then deep-fried. They're also served with a cucumber-yogurt dip. These were so phenomenal and I understand the hype, but unfortunately, it was my favorite thing that I had all night... For my entree I went with the Grilled Lamb Chops. These come with parmesan-rosemary petite potatoes, broccolini and a red wine demi glace. These lacked a bold flavor that I was really looking forward to. I've had lamb chops from other establishments with much more flavor than these had. It just is what it is. My wife felt the same regarding her salmon. For dessert we went with their cheesecake that's served with some fresh berries and syrup! This was delicious and an excellent sweet finish to the meal. Value: This isn't a cheap place, so bring the wallet for sure. Our cocktails were $15.00 a piece (I've since forgotten what they were despite the pictures I have, but they just looked juicy in the pictures). My Mother's Chips were $19.00, my lamb chops were $47.00, my wife's salmon was $34.00 and I don't remember what the cheesecake was, but I'm sure it was like $10.00 or something. SO yeah, it was a pricey dinner, but I think it was worth it. The quality of the food was there, just the flavors weren't for us for some things. In conclusion, I liked it here. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5. The parking situation, the price, having to wait so long for a table we made a reservation for and the lack of flavors in some things we ate bring the score down. However, I would totally come back to try some other things though! The atmosphere is off the chain and that was my favorite part of the entire restaurant.

J
Jade Rosa

I was amazed by the beauty of the place, the restaurant is huge, they have so many different ambiences, it’s truly amazing. The food did disappointed me a bit, pasta was a little salty and overcooked, I don’t know if I would come back again.

H
Honest T

I've been going to Rondo for many years. Well before it was remodeled. I usually love everything I order. Last night not so much. The price gouging is over the top. Drinks $15 for a cup of ice with a cucumber slice on top. Stale cake $12. Per slice flavor and consistency was less than desirable. Two different frostings on one cake is odd. Very generic. Very heavy and bland. The cake itself did not back a punch in flavor at all and it was so soaked with simple syrup you could see the difference in color from where too much syrup was added. Thank goodness I had my $5.00 small cup of coffee to wash it down with. There's no mistake it's the best restaurant in that area and is always packed so they have a decent cash flow...with that said, they can do better with pricing and the quality of some items on the menu. $101 for 2 people with no entrees.

I recently visited Viron Rondo Osteria and had a really great time. The place looks beautiful, with a nice vibe and lovely outdoor seating that I really loved. I tried some of their mocktails and cocktails—they were amazing! For food, I had pizza, pasta, and garlic bread. The pizza and garlic bread were absolutely delicious and totally stole the show, but the pasta didn’t really meet my expectations. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely go back for the drinks, the atmosphere, and that tasty garlic bread.

Viron Rondo in Cheshire, CT, would’ve easily been a five-star experience if it weren’t for the service during my visit. The waitress seemed very distraught, and it took quite a while to get her attention—even something as simple as ordering a refill of Coke felt like a challenge. My friends, who are regulars here, assured me this was not the norm, but unfortunately, I can only review based on what I experienced that day. It also seemed that the waitress was training a new employee, but in my opinion, she wasn’t providing the best guidance or example to help the new person succeed. That’s just my perspective—yours may be completely different. Warm regards, Dennis Schleicher, YouTuber with over 90K subscribers and content creator on Instagram

My family and I visited on a beautiful Saturday in August. We waited 30 minutes to be noticed and served water after being given a table. It was early in the day, only three other tables outside being occupied. The other tables who came after us were served promptly while we were either ignored or just not paid any attention to. It wasn’t until I finally flagged someone down and the waitress’s response was “oh sorry, I thought you were someone else’s table” I was extremely disappointed waiting that long to even put in an order for drinks and is not the quality of service we were expecting as our first time there

K
Kimberly Stein

Let me start with our waiter was awesome! But this place is VERY busy... Perhaps check it out on a week day. There must have been 50+ people waiting for a table when I walked in. We were seated in the heated patio, but the heaters were not working and it was very cold. The food came quick, but nothing to brag about, somewhat bland and nothing I would say you have to try. I may go again in the summer, the outside seating does look great.

L
Leslie Zajac

Great atmosphere. Not a wide selection on the menu. Owner came by to see the people next to our table, and asked how our meal was, but walked away before we had a chance to speak with him. Beautiful restaurant inside and out! I am a picky eater, and wish there were a couple more choices on the menu.

P

We've been to Viron Rondo's for dinner New Year's Eve and for Valentine's day. The restaurant is a victim of its own success, and they try to serve more guests than they can on time. Both nights we had open table reservations, and checked in early. Both nights we, and perhaps 100 other diners, were kept standing near the hostess table and even outdoors for 30 minutes before being seated. The salmon was undercooked, but replaced fairly quickly. We had the hummus tray for an appetizer, and when we asked for some more pita bread, we were charged a $3 surcharge! I think after they made us stand for 30 minutes they could comp us $3 worth of pita bread! Be prepared to wait even with a reservation. I assume they feel they are so successful they don't need to treat their guests with respect nor honor reservations.

Atmosphere was great, and the food was good. Loved the company I was with! Unfortunately, the service significantly impacted our experience. This was my first visit, brought by a friend, and I was genuinely excited to try this place. When we arrived it was a while before we even were greeted and offered drinks. We had to grab her to put in an appetizer. After our food was delivered, a long amount of time passed before our waitress checked on us—long enough that we finished most of our meal without being asked how everything was or if we needed anything. No recommendations were offered, no follow-up was made, and no effort was taken to engage with us as guests. Had we been checked on in a timely manner, we absolutely would have ordered additional items and possibly drinks or dessert. Instead, we were left waiting and unsure how to get assistance. The lack of attentiveness was disappointing and honestly uncomfortable, especially for a first-time visit. With better service and more attention to guests, this could be a great dining experience.

Food is great as always, but if you have a party of 2,I feel like they forget about you. The Service is not the same for 2 diners versus a party of 6 or more. When we were first seated, our server came to our table. He never introduced himself so we did not know his name until after we finished our meal and got our bill. It was then we saw his name on the receipt. We waited a while after finishing our appetizer for our server to come back to take our entrée order. During that time we waited for bread and oil to be put in the table, it never came. I had to ask about it. I also had to ask for salt and pepper as there was no condiments whatsoever on the table, and when we got our entrée, we were never offered any Parmesan cheese to go with our meal and by the time our server came back to check on us , we were done eating . We were rarely checked on and I feel like it was due to just two of us dining , that they were too busy for us to come and check on us to see if we were all set. Our server came back 1 time. This isn’t the first time that we have felt ignored because of a party of 2. As I scroll thru other reviews , I see I’m not the only one noticing this. My daughter on more than one occasion has felt the same kind of service. I feel they are catering to bigger parties and they forget about the smaller ones. We parties of 2 can tip very well for great service . Too bad Virons have fallen into this seemly increasing behavior towards their patrons
