Beautiful interior. Staff were so sweet and helpful. Absolutely PACKED at 11AM. Food was incredible. I don’t even know how to describe it. Come here for multiple meals if you can.
Cute little diner !!! Staff is super friendly, food is INCREDIBLE!!! Didn’t make a reservation, being I’ve never been here. Bad on my part, however they were still able to get us a seat. 10/10 recommend!! Will return!!!
Riley was amazing, gave us so many great suggestions for what to get off the menu. The hostess and the person who brought our food were super sweet. Food was delicious, and took a unique twist on traditional diner cuisine. We will for sure be back and recommend! We ordered the straight up pancakes, this little piggy as well as hasbrowns.
My first Stephanie Izard restaurant did not disappoint! The breakfast food was out of this world. The service could have been better, but the great vibe on the patio and the delicious plates made up for it!
This diner has a fun, modern vibe with a menu full of creative takes on comfort food. The portions are generous, and everything is packed with flavor, from breakfast plates to hearty sandwiches. The atmosphere is lively without feeling overwhelming, making it a great spot to enjoy a relaxed meal. Service is friendly and keeps the experience enjoyable.
Service friendly and kind. Food, hot and delicious. Will return. Highly recommend
Went for the first time over the weekend. My son was visiting from out of state and is in culinary business and he wanted to try this place out. My son really enjoyed his meal; he had the chili crunch chicken and dumplings. We also had the chili crunch cheese fries, crab dip, chili crunch burger and a new pork dish that was on menu. All the food was excellent except the crab dip (we are from Maryland) and well that speaks for itself. We tried the fry pie for dessert and liked the combination of chocolate and salt from the fries! I personally did not care for my cocktail The Goat from Impanema. The service was outstanding and very professional. Atmosphere was a cute modern diner vibe!
Had friends visiting from KC, so we grabbed a table at the Little Goat Diner and it was a 10/10 experience from start to finish. From creative drinks to delicious food and a warm, welcoming staff, everything was spot-on. Our waitress radiated such great energy, which made it even better. I ordered the Chili Crunch Chicken & Dumplings (incredible), while my husband went for the chocolate chip pancakes. Our friends had the Chicken & Dumplings and the Shrimp Salad—both full of bold, unforgettable flavors. Everything we tried was outstanding. Already counting down the days until our next visit!
We found out about this place from a food show on TV—the dishes looked super juicy and appetizing, so we had to check it out. It did not disappoint! The place is lively and full of energy, located near the downtown area with a great vibe. The menu isn’t huge, but it’s full of fun, creative options that make you want to try everything. We started with the Espresso Milkshake—absolutely delicious! If you’re a fan of iced coffee, this is a must-try. It has that smooth coffee flavor, with little chocolate crumbles that taste like cake—such a great combo. We also had the Patty Melt with some hash browns and wow. Just looking at it made our mouths water, and the taste was even better. We’ve had patty melts before, but this one was on a whole other level—juicy, flavorful, unforgettable. I personally tried the Chili Crowned Chicken Dumplings—something I was super curious about after seeing it on TV. It comes in a broth that’s packed with veggies and layered flavors. It’s spicy, crunchy, rich… a true explosion of taste! The shredded chicken inside ties everything together perfectly. It’s like a comforting soup with a twist. Overall, I absolutely loved it here. The prices are slightly on the higher side, but totally worth it. You feel like you’re treating yourself, and every bite is worth the splurge. We’ll definitely be back—my husband and I are already planning to try more from the menu. Highly recommend this spot—10 out of 10!
We had Bill as our server yesterday and Mollie today. Both were friendly and made great suggestions. Carly, the GM, fit us in for a breakfast reservation. She was super nice and accommodating. Great spot! Food was amazing.
It’s a charming, elevated diner experience. It’s fresh and clean with a nostalgic feel! The staff was all so nice and they were very accommodating of allergies. I got the sprinkle scone and avocado toast and it was one of the best, unique avocado toasts I’ve ever had! It had strawberry and pickled jalapeños on it. Two toppings that I didn’t know avocado toast needed, but now it will be my base standard! The latte was great and reasonably priced at only 4 dollars! Make a reservation; it’s worth it!
Friendly, fast, informative. The okonomiyaki was super tasty paired with their house made Apricot habanero sauce. Cappuccino was perfect.
I had a fantastic and healthy meal during restaurant week here! The shrimp salad was a good combination of flavors, including tender shrimp, nuts, strawberries, and minty leaves. The green beans were steamed yet crunchy, and I loved the cashews and sauce, it came together so well. The trout was so good, the chickpea chili crunch and flavors were light but permeated through every bite. Lastly the dessert was pretty decadent and well proportioned! This was such a filling meal and a good value :)
Top Chef Fan here This little diner delivered! The Chili Crisp Biscuit & the Cheesit Sundae (bizarre concept but utterly delicious) both had that chef-y feel of something familiar turned on its head. I was able to get in & out in 30mins on a Saturday morning since the kitchen was able to turn out orders quickly. Must try!
I recently discovered this breakfast gem, and it instantly became my favorite morning spot. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the comforting aroma of fresh coffee and warm pastries. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with soft music, friendly staff, and a vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. The menu is a perfect balance of classics and creative twists. I had the avocado toast with poached eggs, and it was absolutely perfect — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The pancakes are fluffy and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the house-made syrups take them to the next level. What really makes this place special is the attention to detail. Every plate is made with care, the ingredients taste fresh and high-quality, and the service is always warm and genuine. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee or enjoying a slow weekend brunch, it’s clear that the team here loves what they do. This isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a place to feel good, start your day right, and maybe even make it a little brighter. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful breakfast experience
Little Goat Diner is such a vibe. The modern chic aesthetic is giving everything, but fair warning it’s a tiny space so it gets packed fast and it’s best to make a reservation. Super clean and staff is friendly + top tier. the chili crunch fries are life changing. And the toasted marshmallow hot cocoa is lowkey a whole experience. The menu has so many bangers I didn’t even get to try so I know I’ll be back.
Great place for breakfast. Food is a fusion type of place with inspiration from some Asian countries. We got the grits, french toast and chicken, simple goat, okonomyaki, and the little piggy.
Such a cute spot with a great outdoor patio! The food choices are all delicious and we enjoyed everything! The chili crisp cheese fries were a hit!
SITTING HERE RIGHT NOW WRITING AND RAVING ABOUT THIS LITTLE DINER!! So yummmy chill cute lowkey vibes. Got a espresso milkshake and they even gave me the canister with extra milkshake 10/10 def will be back in the morning lol
First time eating at this location, and everything was incredible! Our server explained our menu choices and got us excited about our food! Will absolutely be back!!
My Server Jack was amazing, very attentive, I have a background as a Chef and highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits impressed they used pistachio gave it a nice flavor and texture. They have very unique lattes, get the Masala Latte and SugarGoat Fry Pie Slice 🥧
This was a wonderful experience. All the food we saw go out was delicious looking, and what I got was just as good as it looked. Recommend making reservations especially if you have a larger group, but we were able to sit at the bar as a group of five without a reservation. I had the Little Goat Coffee on ice and the Okonomiyaki.
The food was great and the service was attentive and friendly. I had the chili crunch chicken and dumplings and the sugar goat fry pie slice, would definitely recommend both of them.
We went on a Saturday night, made a reservation 30min ahead of time and were happy we did because when we arrived a company was turned down, it was packed. We had dinner at their mother restaurant “girl and the goat” and I knew from there that I love food from this chain. But since all the reviews here are mostly about all day breakfast, brunches and lunches, I was afraid it will under deliver for dinner mains. We didn’t realise it was restaurant week and they had a menu prepared for 45$. I chose it with the main dish of “Holy Cow”. We were expecting it to be half portion for the 4 course menu and my husband opted for a Reuben sandwich insert. Reuben - huge, delish. A lot of meat so you definitely hit the protein intake requirement. Restaurant week menu - First, it is full size; second, run and try it! Strawberry avocado shrimp salad - great texture, fresh ingredients, balanced sauce without overpowering but neither was it dry. It is definitely not your “side sad salad”. Would definitely recommend it and on a regular day it can even be my full lunch. I shared it with my partner since it was too big to be able to follow with 3 more courses which were coming. Green beans - with delicious fish sauce and cashews it is a staple we discovered at their other locations and my husband said: beans prepared like that can substitute a full dinner for me. Everyone recommended it at the other place and we didn’t regret trying it. Definitely a hit. Holy cow - is exactly my reaction. It is a beef stew with amazing mix of spices and a little heat. It also has some coconut taste (whether the actual stew or the grits underneath it) which balances the dish. It hit my every desire and is for now on my dish every time I have a craving and cannot understand what kind of cuisine I want. Very good, i was dancing while eating it. Flavours were amazing, beef was tender. Sunday dessert- we had a small desert which we lived. It is had mellow lemon taste and balanced well everything we experienced earlier. It had crunchy nuts and pretzels. The restaurant week menu is a steal, would recommend everyone to try it.
So good. Get the okonomiyake - it is delicious - perfectly crispy savory pancake. Also tried the french onion - it was good but could have used a bit more salt. Their chocolate milkshake was also very good.
The vibe was super warm, the inside reminded me of a 70's diner and we got lucky to sit on the patio. All the food was stellar. I got the chicken and french toast. The chicken was breaded and seasoned so well, the toast was thick and had a super tasty BBQ maple syrup. The egg yolk in the center was rich and delicious. I also got the cheesy hashbrowns. They were shredded thin like floss, and mixed with white cheddar. Very very good and unique. They came out a little cold but still tasted fabulous. Coffee was wonderful. Definitely worth the price.
Amazing! Such a fun menu. We’re already planning our next visit so we can try more of the dishes.
4 friends decided to go to the Little goat Diner for Easter lunch. We had a 2:15 reservation. It is a small cute diner. It was busy but it didn't feel noisy. We could heard our conversation. We ordered our food. The food arrived hot and it was DELICIOUS. We could sit and enjoy our food and drinks. We did not feel rushed. Go and enjoy a wonderful dish at the Little Goat Diner.
I would recommend getting in early if you’re looking to have breakfast or have a reservation. The seating area is small and fills up fast. Here are the dishes we had. The Goat from Ipanema - This drink was a blend of two rums with pineapple, coconut, miso, and lime. Very refreshing and a more bitter version of a pińa colada. This Little Piggy - A deconstructed breakfast sandwich with sausage, sunny side egg, on a cheddar biscuit with a chili garlic chive sauce. It was fantastic and the sauce offered a subtle but sweet aftertaste. Avocado Toast - My Mom got this and really enjoyed it. She raved about the herbey limey drizzle over the top of the greens the toast was under. The Simple Goat - 2 eggs your way, bacon or sausage, fruit, toast, or hashbrowns. I recommend getting this dish if you’re looking for something light. My Dad is a light eater and this was perfect for him. Bacon was cooked perfect and crispy, just how we like it! Great diner with an awesome service staff! Can’t wait to come back and try even more of their items.
For brunch, this is definitely a go to place. We had done our homework before we came to Chicago and had made a reservation but of course I screwed it up and we came late. The staff were very good about trying to accommodate us on a very busy Monday long weekend. When we did get our table the food was all spectacular. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The service was friendly. We were sitting outside so I'm not sure what you can say about the atmosphere other than you're outside. It was a beautiful day to be outside. Everyone in our party got something they wanted, whether it was savory or the ooey gooey sticky bun. Prices seemed a little high but they make sure to pay their staff good living wages so I really appreciate that. This is definitely a nice place to stop for brunch if you're in the area. I suggest making a reservation and then also showing up on time.
Elvis pancakes were amazing. The patty melt was delicious; the pickles were crunchy and the cheese just dripped off the melt. And the pork entree was also spectacular. Also, the fries were crispy and fresh. Overall, the experience, atmosphere and the server were excellent and I would come back in a heart beat, plus the place is clean and esthetically pleasing to walk by and be at.
We took a day trip all the way from Houston to Chicago just to eat here — and I can honestly say, it was worth every single mile. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed with genuine smiles and warm energy that immediately made us feel at home. Our server, Danny, was absolutely amazing — truly the heart of our visit. He greeted us with such enthusiasm, guided us through the menu with confidence, and had that perfect blend of professionalism and personality. You could tell he genuinely loved what he did. He didn’t just take our order — he crafted an experience. We started with the dish called “This Little Piggy.” Let me tell you, I have not stopped thinking about this dish since the first bite. 🥰 The biscuit was out of this world — buttery, soft, golden, and with just the right texture to soak up that incredible sauce. The sausage had this deep, flavorful richness that paired beautifully with the subtle Szechuan spice. It wasn’t overpowering — it just lingered softly, leaving this delightful tingle that kept you coming back for more. Every element of that plate worked together like a song — bold, comforting, and unforgettable. Then came the Yucatan Pork, and oh my goodness… what a dish. The pork was perfectly cooked — crisp and golden on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside. It had that deep, savory flavor that can only come from time, care, and someone who really understands their craft. The texture contrast was perfect — the crunch of the outer layer giving way to the juicy softness beneath. If I could change just a couple of small things, I’d say a bit more sauce would make it absolutely perfect, and the chips were maybe a little too crispy for my taste. But those are tiny details in an otherwise incredible dish. Everything about this place felt thoughtful — the atmosphere, the flavors, and the people behind the food. There’s something special about a restaurant that makes you feel like family on your first visit, and this place has that magic. So, to Danny and the entire team: thank you for such a wonderful experience. You turned a simple day trip into a memory I’ll never forget. If anyone reading this is thinking about coming here — stop thinking and go. You’ll be so glad you did. Sending lots of love and gratitude, From a very happy gal from Texas
Food is excellent, had the spiced apple pancakes, my kiddo had the chocolate pancakes. Phenomenal its crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Service is always incredible. One of the servers had the cutest earrings. 10/10 would recommend
Such a sweet staff here! We've been in a few times, loved the mac and cheese (so fresh and tasty!) and today just a side trip in with the wife. Hot chocolate/matcha and loved every bit as much as the food they always serve with such care. Great little place, really kind people and good prices too for such high quality food and drinks.
This spot serves creative takes on classic diner food with plenty of flavor. The menu has a wide mix, from hearty breakfast plates to fun twists on sandwiches and comfort dishes. Portions are filling, the vibe is lively, and the service is always friendly. It’s an easy place to enjoy a meal any time of day.
This Little Piggy breakfast was so good! Loved it! Wish we'd found this cute little diner on our previous trip. First time I've ever had a food network breakfast. Mmm. Balanced flavor, fun textures, and the strawberry flavor surprise in my first bite! The cheddar biscuit stayed crispy to the end, but that sauce!! Wow! Craziest, tastiest, most unusual flavor! The spice component made the sides of my tongue tingle without being so hot that it made me sweat. Thank Goodness! Nice frothy cappuccino and a spicy bloody Mary rounded it all out.
This is a neat little diner — definitely worth a visit if you enjoy trying new flavors and creative takes on traditional dishes. We ordered the tomato and apple soup, which was wonderfully smooth. The tomato flavor was subtle and beautifully balanced by the apple. We also had the Reuben sandwich, and the kimchi added the perfect kick for a spicier, more modern twist. The shrimp and grits were another standout — I’d never had it for breakfast before, but the pistachios and greens added a delicious savory note, while the light tomato-touch roux tied everything together with great texture and flavor. The crab dip had the perfect consistency for dipping and delivered a warm, homey flavor. The staff was wonderfully attentive and worked seamlessly as a team — every server stayed focused on the guests while still giving us space to enjoy a peaceful breakfast.
Came here off a Google search since I'm new to the area, and the reviews did not lie. I see why it is highly rated. Got a late lunch here with my father, and we both enjoyed our dishes. I had the Shrimp Sammie, and it hit the spot. The sandwich was fresh with a nice amount of toppings! The crab spread on it really made it for me. I did get some Xtra mayo and the signature sauce on the side because of the thick roll, but ate it down to the last crumb. The waiter was attentive and went the extra mile of making me a list of local spots to try after hearing that I just recently moved to the area. Will dine here again.
Absolutely phenomenal on all fronts! Went for breakfast and would highly recommend the French onion omelette! Very cozy diner atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be coming back to try stuff from their dinner/lunch menu!
We couldn't get a Sunday morning reservation, so we decided to take a gamble and walk in. We ended up sitting at the counter, and we're grateful to have a spot, but it did inhibit taking pictures. The coffee was good, and my friend enjoyed one of the cinnamon rolls. She ordered corned beef hash, and enjoyed it. She said it was more like a deconstructed hash, call it whatever. It was good. I had the shrimp and grits, and the waitress told me to order some toast with it. She was so right! I ordered the sourdough toast which came with a smear of butter, and it was absolutely delicious soaking up the juice from my dish. Everyone from the host to the wait staff, to the guys behind the window smiling at me, we're lovely. I think we'll be back again soon🙂
Little Goat Diner has been on my list for quite some time and I’m so glad I finally got around to trying it. We went for dinner and loved the experience! The vibes of the restaurant are so fun and retro but very approachable. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our server, Joan, was so friendly and made the perfect recommendations for us. We can’t wait to be back!
I loved the service and the atmosphere! The egg biscuit had way too many flavors going on. The hash browns tasted good, but they were sitting in a lot of grease! Every time I took a bite, I was afraid I was going to drip oil on my shirt. The total, which included an iced mocha latte, was $41 without the tip. That is a lot to pay for breakfast for one person!
Will I go back? I don’t know …. I still have high hopes, but: I had the Little Goat Latte. Very tasty And the THIS LITTLE PIGGY scallion cheddar biscuit, which was just not impressive. Look, for $20, you have to be VERY GOOD. This had lots of different flavors, but was just OK.
Great place but I was a little disappointed with my meal. The chicken that I recieved on the bulls-eye french toast looked like cut up chicken nuggets (they were better than chicken nuggets) and they were small I guess I was expecting more. The 4 pieces of bacon I had were either extra extra crispy or cooked to perfection. The food was good but I though I was hoping to be wowed. I would come back but hopefully if I do the food would be better.
First time here! Small place, big vibes. 🐻⚾️ Ordered the Bull's Eye French toast, fried chicken, and an iced Americano. The French toast portion was perfect fluffy and huge! While the fried chicken portion seemed somewhat modest, I was wondering about the name "Bull's Eye" until I got to the middle—there was a fried egg! The food was great, I'm definitely coming back.
while pricey, the food is pretty good. i really liked the shrimp sammie and the salted maple hojicha latte. service was friendly, and the interior was super cute. my group was sat by the door however, which got pretty cold from people coming in and out
“”What a great place.”” A vibrant retro decor that says “Good Morning come on in” Food special and creative. Service accommodating with just the right touch of friendly. Pricing on the high end but worth the high quality ingredients. Parking on street and difficult. Definitely destination dining. AWARDED 2.5 YUMS ON A SCALE OF 3
I’ve never been so torn about writing a review before. This is probably one of those places where no matter what you order, it’s going to taste amazing. I ordered the French toast and fried chicken—both were excellent. The French toast easily ranks in my top 3 of all time, and the fried chicken was just as good. Here’s where things went downhill: I paid $24.19 after tax for “ONE” slice of French toast and a very small tiny portion of chicken. After leaving a 20% tip (because it’s certainly not the waitress’s fault), I walked out spending nearly $30 for what felt like a tasting portion. The food was fantastic, but the portion size and value just don’t justify the price. Great flavors, disappointing portions. If they don’t fix that, they’ll keep losing customers—especially in Lakeview, where there’s no shortage of options.
My brother was in from Cleveland and wanted to take us out for a nice dinner. He had heard the hype about this diner and after a little research I was excited too. We were seated right away for our 5 pm reservation. There were maybe two other small parties inside with us. My first thought after being seated was how dirty the floors were. The leftover food and debris was there for our entire meal. We ordered the hot crab dip which was delicious - would recommend. Main courses were delivered quickly but were just alright. Our service was pleasant but we both felt a bit like an afterthought, having to remind our server of various items. Again, not super busy inside but maybe the patio was full? All in all it wasn't terrible but neither of us would recommend this place for a special night.
As someone who genuinely appreciates hospitality and understands the balance between cost execution and guest experience, I came into Little Goat Diner with high expectations. We arrived with a reservation and were seated about ten minutes past it, which honestly was not a big issue. These things happen and the staff handled it professionally enough. I do want to highlight that our server was excellent. Her customer service was genuinely great, attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. While the menu recommendation itself was not the strongest, her overall service was easily the best part of the experience and deserves recognition. Where the experience fell short was the food, especially when considering value. My wife ordered a sandwich that was overloaded with coleslaw to the point where the bread became soggy, completely defeating the structure and intent of the dish. For the price point, the sandwich felt poorly composed and lacked the care and finesse you would expect. It came across as something quickly assembled rather than thoughtfully built. My own entrée did not redeem the experience. The presentation was underwhelming and the flavor did not stand out in a way that justified the cost. Nothing was necessarily bad, but nothing felt memorable or elevated. Ironically, the standout of the entire meal was the kids menu. The kids dishes were well executed, enjoyable, and more satisfying than the adult entrées, which says a lot. Adding to the value issue was the beverage pricing. Charging four to five dollars for a can of soda felt excessive, especially when it was not even a Mexican Coke or a specialty offering. It only reinforced the sense that the pricing did not match the experience. By the end of the meal, with a bill over one hundred dollars, the overall experience simply did not align with the value received. While I respect the concept and reputation behind Little Goat Diner, this visit did not deliver the quality or execution expected at this price point. Unfortunately, it is not a place I would return to based on this experience.
