A little small, can get super busy. If you want a drink SAY something. People talking trash because they couldn't get a drink started. Good place for drink and fun. Ask about Jello shots!
Great dive bar in Chula Vista! Very friendly people and vibe, easily one of my favorite spots. No food, occasionally taco tent out in the parking lot.
Cool spot. Cash only. Gonna hit this spot up again
Good spot to get out, have a quick drink and get away. They always have a good selection of craft beer! Bands come and play every now and then. They are a Cash only bar.
I usually go during the late afternoons so there is a mellow but fun atmosphere. Excellent service, great selection of craft beer, fun jukebox and lots of old time regulars
Bartender was great she was on top of everything the drinks were perfect and we just celebrated mother's Day there with a lot of other older ladies. We had a ball and someone even bought us all jello shots!
Great music to dance to, pool tables, long bar. Cash only for drinks, but they have an ATM. More than your typical dive bar. But it can get crowded by their dance floor so getting between the front and back area is difficult.
Best place to grab a delicious craft beer. Wide variety of wells, great staff awesome live bands. Just an overall amazing dive bar to unwind after work with friends or hang out and dance the night away. Good atmosphere good people, come check it out.
Seemed to have a good selection of beers, but was only able to enjoy two. Looking forward to visiting again. It was not very busy when I got there early on a Saturday, but as I was leaving it seemed to be picking up. Appears to be a favorite of locals. Still a cash only bar, which is not a personal favorite of mine, but IF I have cash in my pocket I definitely think of the Manhattan.
One of my favorite places to go, the bartender's are great, the atmosphere is chill and the band's are fun. Monday night is trivia night, Thursday is Karaoke night, and Friday Saturday they have live music. Jello shots are a dollar and they are strong. If you come here you will be treated like family.
Was a fun Christmas party... All the bartender's very professional and always have good stories to share. Happy Holidays !!😬
Good cocktails. They serve craft beer. Some rare finds too. Plenty of shot options. 2 pool tables. Back porch for smokers. Or in front. Nice little spot. Touch tunes DJ jukebox.
One of the best dive bars in San Diego. Make sure you go on a night that either has live music or a DJ. You can also enjoy the craft beer discount on Tuesdays.
One of my favorite cursed spots 🖤
Liked our pit stop there. Brooke is a excellent bartender! It's small... cozy.... with good drinks. And the bartenders are pretty enthusiastic.
Any time of the week you can go and have some drinks with friends and the music is great.
Friendly and professional bartenders. Great neighborhood dive with pool and music in a comfy relaxed atmosphere. Best damn dive in CV? Show me better!
My local watering hole. Excellent dive bar with great staff, great beer and whiskey selections, as well as a good Juke and diverse crowd. Can get packed during weekends, but otherwise can usually find parking in back or nearby on streets.
Like coming here with my cousins. It's pretty small with a small dance floor. We like coming on cumbia night. Oh yeah, good luck with parking. Overall, we have fun. We party and drink 🍸
Great local spot. Adriana makes you feel at home. Check it out if in CV.
I have always liked this place, even before I had a stroke, 5 years ago. It has changed few owners, but still carries the name The Manhattan, a Chula Vista landmark to me. I Wish the 24hr Flamingo Cafe was still across the street. Both went hand in hand. Bar shut down and everybody including owners would eat at cafe. (NW corner) The only problem with Manhattan is, that it is totally terrible to move a power chair in ADA bathroom, since I'm disabled now. But STILL gave this place a 5 for still a great place after 20 years!
Another simply amazing and mesmerizing at the Manhattan, this place has so much history locally and status in a legendary level for all up and coming performers from all genre's I must say this place is magical to the eleventh force.
Cool vibes, really good selection of craft beer and full bar. Live band played on Saturday night that had great acoustics and space for a dance floor
Excellent craft beers, and cocktails. Pool and bar games. Live music some nights. Good deals at happy hour
Went for Happy hour. Good prices & good music on the juke box. Pretty busy for a Tuesday. Most likely because of the pool tournament. 😉🎶🍻
Nice selection of local craft beer, always a nice pour. Cool kickback atmosphere, pooltables

Not an expert on bars, but in my late 40s I felt comfortable here (crowd is younger than me). Dress up casual or pin up, all welcome. Friday night was 80s music (Great! Since it was my high school music). Drinks prices are decent. Bus boys and door guy service is great. The first time we wanted drinks it took 15 minutes, it got faster later on.
Our bartender was Amy. The atmosphere was absolutely timeless. The service exceptional! If you're lucky you might get to meet Amy, the best bartender, quite possibly in San Diego, and if you're really lucky on the same day? You might just get to meet "Propeller, Dave".
It's a typical great dive bar! Try their micheladas, they're terrific. Nuff said!
This place is great! Dive bar atmosphere, has 2 pool tables. Sometimes you'll catch Bangin Benny's outside out the grill serving up smash burgers. Other times you'll see a band playing live. Definitely a great spot and Chula Vista staple. I will never turn down an invite here, ha!
Great day drinking place to hit up if you dont feel like going to the flashy, loud, and expensive bars and restaurants saturating the city. It feels more intimate and you feel a lot less like another customer when you drink here, I dont know quite how to explain it, but they make you feel welcome and there's no pressure or any type of uncomfortable interactions to be had, which is great for someone like myself who suffers with anxiety and would rather saw my arm off with a rusty saw than interact with people most days lol Its located right On the corner of Broadway & H St. Place looks really small from the outside, which almost put me off the first time i decided to try it out, but luckily I gave it a chance and went in anyways. Once you get inside, its not bad at all, there is plenty of space even when there are a lot of people. Its never overwhelmingly crowded or stuffy as you will likely assume by looking at it from the outside. Trust me, just go in and if it isnt to you liking, you can always turn and walk out the way you came in, but you may be pleasantly surprised and decide you misjudged it based on what the outside made you picture in your mind. Its really not tiny inside despite it looking like it would have to be based on what you see outside, trust me. When you drink here, you'll notice the laid back atmosphere that mixes seamlessly with the friendly socializaton going on around the place. There's friendly staff, and everything you'd expect to find at your standard bar. It isn't uncommon to make new friends every time you go, as everyone I've ever met or seen drinking here all seemed like great people who were a lot of fun to be around. The staff is welcoming but the other patrons might have them beat sometimes! I have a blast every time I visit and never once have I witnessed any sort of problematic people, altercations, drama, or harassment of any kind, its been all positive for me personally! There is parking (thank God) and despite the area not being known for having very good parking in general for any businesses, this parking lot is surprisingly spacious and can accommodate over a dozen cars, if I were to guess, possibly even more. It isn't the sort of lot that you're going to end up forced into doing a ridiculous 205-point turn in order to park your car and the spaces here are big enough to actually park in! I know, i know, crazy! There wont be any fender benders, scratching up the sides kf your car and the one squeezed into the space beside you as you attempt to park or leave, and you can even properly open up your doors to exit and enter your vehicle! Car, truck, or SUV! You aren't forced into an impromptu game of tetris while parking, as is the case for many bars with similar sized lots and in similarly populated areas. I suggest backing into your spot to make it easier to pull out later, but definitely not required, as there's enough space to back out and then pull forward. Nearby the 5 freeway, so nonlocals can easily make it here without issue and its practically impossible to get lost no matter how terrible you may be when it comes to directions lol when im not here grabbing a drink, I drive by the place several times per week during all hours of the day and evening, and every single time I pass, I see small groups of customers standing or smoking outside who are ALWAYS looking like their having a good time, and I can assure you, they most definitely are. Oh! And there's a bus stop literally directly in front of the place. I mean quite literally, the bus stop bench is going to be like 6-9 feet in front of you when you walk out the door. You can take the trolley to the stop next to the freeway about 2 min down the road and hop on the bus if you dont feel like walking, or if you cant walk. When weather permits, and let's be honest, in San Diego, the weather always permits, I'd even walk there! Its quite literally a few min walk from the trolley station. Leave the trolley, go straight towards Broadway, turn left on Broadway, and there it is, on the corner of H St & Broadway. Cheers!
If you want to go to a chill bar with a great atmosphere, look no further. You can't beat the price of drinks, and the bartenders are amazing. Drinks are always made to perfection. If you want to enjoy yourself with your loved one or friends this is the spot. Great music too. Cumbia night and R&B nights are a great go to.
My experience there is like hanging out with my family. Always fun!!!

Neighborhood bar. CASH ONLY. They have 2 pool tables good prices and friendly service.
Formerly one of the crappier dive bars in Chula Vista, which is saying a lot, this place has recently been bought out and now has a decent set of taps running. Sticky floors, but better beer at a good price.
My grey goose screwdriver right when I got there at last call was 8 buck, I thought it was a great price and the drink was strong, a big plus, I tipped the efficient and friendly bartender , Brooke, 5 bucks …very reasonable Good music on the jukebox and friendly chit chat with other patrons.. I gave it 4 stars because they dont take debit..otherwise it was a great experience… Thank you Manhattan staff !!
Cheap(ish) drinks. Nice little dive. Regular crowd has no taste in music. It's fun to hijack the jukebox and school them.
This is a local Chula Vista bar with live music and two pool tables. It's a step up from a dive bar, and they have a rotating list of about 10 craft beers in addition to their full bar. It gets fairly crowded here on weekends. Parking can be a bit tough on weekends, but you can park across the street from their lot for free. It's not a bad place for a couple drinks with friends. The staff is also generally pretty friendly and attentive.

Neighborhood bar with good occasional pop-up food tent outside. Everyone always super friendly. Fun to meet my sister and brother in law on occasion to mix it up. Good to support our local hangouts. Bring cash or use ATM inside. If you don't... please no complaining. I warned you 🙃

Nice dive bar. Cool live cover band, but too loud for the size of the venue. Extended exposure may lead to permanent hearing damage. 🤣
A local dive bar with a cool atmosphere. Has 2 pool tables... Take only cash. They have an ATM inside. No food served. They will allow a person to bring some in from the local eateries. El Patio next door served the biggest fish taco I ever ate.
They dont accept card, which is weird. Also, I tried one of the local beers - a brown one - probably one of the worst beers I've ever tasted. The service and music were good and the bartenders aren't up on your business trying to get you order something else. If you stick to the beer you know and love, this bar is pretty good.
Cash only, no cards accepted. No kitchen, so no food. Parking is very limited. Pool table by the entrance door, very distracting if you're playing while people come and go. DJ is cool, playing hits sounds.

Good prices for drinks, older crowd, nice ladies, kind of like East LA Chicano scene, cool people. Caveat: Chicano scene, drinking, cholo looking dudes, might have some altercation when looking at a girl that is with a guy. I did, all cool, but crap! It is a bar..... Would I go again? Yes, next Friday.....

Dive bar. Legitimately. We like! Staff on point. No funny business. 20% off your first purchase if you can find where the bartender's eyebrows are.
The service is hit and miss. Two of the bartenders (different trips)worry more about taking care of their friends than taking care of the other patrons. Others than that, no other issues. Cool vibes, nice crowds, felt safe, friendly barback/security/doorman. Two pool tables, a stage and a jukebox.
Rude and pretentious. Parked in a Handicap spot next to this bar and were followed to the next door establishment to move the car as the bartender didn’t want to hold back spaces for customers. When leaving the establishment next door, found a NON-Handicap Impala in the Handicap spot. The California Department of Motor Vehicles website seems to indicate that anyone with a disabled placard or license plate may park in any designated disabled space. It does not appear to make a distinction between public and private property or between reserved and unreserved spaces.
Lets be honest, this is a nice place and has a full bar, the bar tender should know a wide range of cocktails, me and my wife ask for mai-tai and blue hawaiian, we got a drink 90% alcohol and 10% flavor. We realize that bar tender do not measure the ingredients , she just pour at will.
