Ok. To be fair, a sidewalk stand shouldn’t be rated a 5 star, but the vibe is great. Everyone is there for one thing and that’s the birria. The meat is lovingly spiced with the most complex of flavours that I swear have cloves in them. Apply a consommé that’s stewed with such care and you have one of the most special food experiences I’ve had.

Flavor bomb. I had a soup with birria and it was the last thing served that night. The consomé was super rich and flavorful, but I think it may have been better for dipping than drinking as it was very concentrated/salty. Even so, I was so impressed and kept eating even though I wasn’t hungry. The owner delivered great service and always made sure I had a stack of fresh, hot tortillas. The next time I want birria I know where I am going.

Papá José knows how to do the real Jalisco birria 🌮 tacos, he started this stand since 1992! Older than most of the eaters! For a whole set of simple meal: 3 tacos and a bowl of broth, just 60pesos ( next door panadería is just a bun)!! What you can ask for more?!

The birria was amazing! Cool food stand in a great area. Make sure you get the compote with the tacos and a Mexican coke! 6 tacos & 2 cokes ended up being $7. Best bang for your buck! Won’t regret it

Jose Manuel was so sweet and the food was delicious! 1 order is 3 tacos and consome which was $60 (pesos). Food was ready instantly, everything was served hot and comforting.

Absolutely incredible birria! Flavorful and an absolutely incredible price. The chef was very kind and talented. It’s a stand, so there’s not a ton of space and a few stools but that’s it. Works just fine though and worth the wait to get your spot.

I cannot explain with words how good this birria is! The meet is just on point and the hot broth where it is supposed to be swimming is full of umami. The girl who serves and the owner are continuously throwing shots at each other in Spanish like an old couple they are hilarious! Just come and ask for a birria with todo and just of maciza. You will taste heaven!

Hands down the best birria I’ve ever had. The consomé was rich, deeply flavorful, and packed with tender chunks of meat. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive — such a warm vibe. Easily one of my favorite meals in CDMX.
