The place is cozy, full of stuff, and ornaments. The menu is varied and it has a fusion of Mexican, Spanish,a bit of American cuisine. The prices are reasonable and the service is good in general. They also promote young artists, painters and writers which is good.

Hidden gem on the San Jerónimo walking street in the Centro Histórico. Definitely recommend it for libations and sharing plates. The interior deco is amusing and surprising. Eclectic doesn't suffice. La Bota is super economical too. Support their literacy action by buying a book from young lady who stops by your table - unobtrusively - during your visit. Mostly locals hang out here and expect Classic Rock. Cool area surrounding La Bota.

First night in Mexico City, and looking for a hot spot with good food (not necessarily Mexican) and unique local vibe. We found it at La Bota. Mushroom soup was delicious. Roast beef sandwich was rich and juicy. Our waiter was very friendly as we struggled through our beginner Spanish. Very fun scene with locals and a few tourists like us. Great people watching and better food. Check it out.

Good food, fun atmosphere, very interesting decor! Prices reasonable but you do have to pay in cash. Would definitely recommend as a chilled dinner option for couples/friends.

Not the best tapas in the world but this restaurant is really an experience. Very bohemian style and decoration. The staff are very helpful and attentive. We tried mostly tapas even though the menu expands from Mexico to Spain, from Italy to Argentina. The tomato soup and the tapas de Jamón Serrano were the best we tried

We were expecting to enjoy paella so we came here but paella is only served in the weekends. Food was really mediocre, calamari ‘s batter wasn’t made in the right way, just a fried shell. Sangri has no fruits in the jug. Price was 500 pesos per person, quite overpriced. One of the meals that I regret the most in my stay in Mexico

I ate here yesterday and unfortunately became very sick afterward. I had a dish with cheese and mushrooms; I ate all the mushrooms while my partner only shared the cheese with me. He felt fine, but I ended up vomiting, with fever and stomach pain shortly after the meal. I believe I may have had food poisoning, given how quickly the symptoms appeared after eating. To make things worse, this has completely ruined my last day of vacation, as I can’t even get out of bed now. I’m really disappointed because I liked the look and atmosphere of the restaurant, but this experience was very upsetting.

FAKE Google Reviews here. Things that gone wrong: 1. When we arrived they didn’t greet us and we served ourselves to a table which was not cleaned. They didn’t bother to clean it either. 2. Had to call the server to order the food and she kept walking away to gossip with other workers while taking the order was a bit annoying. 3. Ordered a beer and additional paid option on her menu but instead served me a different beer and some random drink I didn’t order, started to get a little agitated but left it as is and drank the beer I didn’t order because my food didn’t come out yet as I don’t want some mystery meat. 4. When one of the food arrived, there was no server to be found so we grabbed our own salsa from another table, didn’t know I work there now. 5. My hamburger arrived but when the server left in a rush almost throwing throwing the wooden plate on the table and left, the top bun of burger and the tomato literally fell down by itself to the table so I decided to just eat whatever that didn’t touch the dirty table that they never cleaned. 6. Went to use their bathroom, there is no fan inside and it’s very dirty. 7. The whole place looks like someone’s nightmare, does not look sanitized and the floor is very sticky including the tables and chairs. 8. Had enough just wanted pay and left so walked up the cashier and this server had the audacity to tip herself which we refused because this the worst restaurant experience in Mexico period. I had better service in the local mercado than this overrated overpriced tipdemanding unsanitary nothing special of a place to visit. You are warned.
