Opinions de Tamales Tere Ciudad De México
We went with family and friends just for breakfast, but believe me, is not the tipical tamale, this is other level, this is bomb! I owe you the pictures, was so delicious that I really forgot about it, and let me tell the toast with avocado looks so yummy that I will order one next time! This is a place that you must go and try it!👌🏼✨
So. Good. I love tamales, and this place is where they're at. I got 7 dozen (!!) to-go for an office party. I gave them a couple days heads up, and it was no problem at all.. Seemed like they could probably handle an order like that without prior notice. Every single person, from the tamale experts to the people who had never had one, loved them. The chicken mole is my stand out favorite.
Best tamales in LA. The cheese and jalapeno is my personal favorite but the chicken mole is a close second. All the other tamales are good as well. They are always full of flavor and the dough is nice and fluffy. Its December 27th and I'm already out ☹.
Sincerely good it's unreal ! It is the best ! So much flavor in the food add on's are not needed. The beverages are a bonus to the food (custom goodness). Very nice employees to help with selections. I visited the Sunset location and went back again the next day ! They are very reasonably priced.
Tamales Alberto is the go-to spot for tamales! They have a great variety if you go before 1:00 p.m.. if you go in the afternoon they still have them but some selections are limited because they sell so many. Everyone around knows that they are the best. They have other excellent food but the tamales are my favorite and certainly what they are known for. If you never liked tamales or if you never had a really good one you've got to go check them out and see for yourself. They even have one's made of sweet corn for dessert!
Delicious food and friendly service! They have plenty of seating inside and outside. My favorites are the chicken mole
Good selection of tamales, they have vegan option as well and now they have DOG TAMALES. I'm in love ❤️. Parking is troublesome but if you don't mind a walk this is a great place to come.
Hands down some of the best chilaquiles in all of Los Angeles. One of the few that offers vegan options on their chilaquiles as well. Absolutely love this place.
Love their Chicken Mole tamale. Update (3 years later): Still love this place. Make a monthly pilgrimage here to stock up from Pasadena. All their tamales are great. They make the masa more moist than all other tamale joints and as a result they hold up much better to reheating. I do miss their Picadillo (ground beef) that was taken off the menu in the last year, but still 5 stars by far.
One of my all time favorite places in LA. I wish they didn't remodel the inside though, it was so nice before and I think they wanted to make it more accessible for white people. But the food is still bomb, try the chilaquiles, the breakfast burrito, and the tamales. The red beef tamales are meh but the rest of them are 🔥
Clean and sanitize environment. The tamales are delicious 😋. The down side. The parking is a challenge. However, you are welcome to park at the alley. You are better paying in cash to avoid 15% tip at time of transaction.
Exceeded my expectations! These are some of the best tamales I’ve ever had. The masa must be seasoned with ambrosia and the fillings are generous. The mole and queso con jalapeño were my favorites, but every flavor was delicious! I’m hooked and we already placed an order for more
Very delicious...finally real beans real rice! The tamales are delicious soft and served hot..I had red and green perfect amount of spiciness great spot very clean and decent prices.
Almost as good as my grandmas. you won’t find any better no where else. The tamales are delicious. My favorite pork with red and chicken with green.
G.O.A.T.!!! (Greatest Of All Time) There's nothing else to say. These are tamales wrapped in corn husks and Love. Full of flavor and comfort. The attention to flavor and careful consideration for each customer is unmatched. Just WOW! Chicken Mole, Spinach & cheese, Pork, and Pineapple are all great. But, don't forget the bean & cheese and jalapeño & cheese... OMG! Just writing this, my lips are dripping with desire! Much appreciation. Five Stars Hands Down.
At $1.35 each, these tamales are not only delicious but cheap! I told the cashier my order and he pulled out from behind the counter, 2 chicken w/ green chili and 1 red sauce with pork. He put them gingerly in brown butcher paper, wrapped it all up in a bag and off I went. My favorite out of the 2 choices was definitely the chicken w/ green chili. As a spicy-phile, the tender cuts of chicken melded perfectly with the spicy nuances of the green chili. It was a delightful lunch and to think, my entire meal was under $5!
I have never tasted tamale better than theirs they have been in business for years and I commute no matter where I may live in order to get a tamale from Alberto's their taste is unlike any others always fresh hot and assorted flavors
food was soooooo good. fast and friendly service, too!
I got the breakfast burrito. I did add avocado. It totaled to $15.00! I’m going to be honest LA breakfast burritos are sometimes that amount and…small and flavorless. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE!!! They did it justice with a good portion and the chips and salsa that came with it were good. They had a tomato sauce that was not spicy and a green one that was I mean what a great combo. I didn’t look for ketchup the sauces were enough to add a kick. The potatoes were cooked great and honestly it came together wonderfully. The service was great they were pretty busy when I came and were still nice and attentive. They even apologized for the wait (it was no less than 10-15 mins but the care was appreciated) I hope to eat in next time because the horchata looked delicious but I didn’t get to try it. They have a variety of food and some limited space for sitting but overall I liked my first time in this restaurant! I took my order to go and I don’t know of they’re related but I did grab a coffee next door it’s like a little alley with fake grass and it seemed like they coffee cart may be connected to the restaurant. Coffee spots only open Wednesday-Sunday and I grabbed the mocha de piaxtle. If you don’t like some spice in your coffee perhaps don’t try that…I enjoyed it! It was a new experience to have spice in a coffee but it melded well. It wasn’t that sweet tho!
This is an amazing spot we discovered just yesterday near Echo Park. The chilaqules were bomb and delicious. Very authentic. Staff were friendly and inviting. Ive tried a few other restaurants with chilaqules and this has become my top 3 for sure. There are other items in the menu I am looking forward tk try next visit soon.
Food was good, just wish they had spicy salsa or grilled jalapeños.
Amazing food, amazing price. Authentic hole in the wall restaurant in the heart of LA. I was surprised it wasn’t busier on a Sunday morning because their breakfast chilaquiles were so good! We got both the green chilaquiles with chicken and egg as well as the chilaquiles de mole with chicken and egg as well. I would definitely recommend both plates just be aware that the green salsa is a little spicy and it can be a bit much for those who aren’t used to the spice. The flavor of the green sauce was great though! They have a couple small tables outside too so it’s dog friendly :)
If you enjoy a tasty savory fresh tamale then this is the spot. The atmosphere great too!
Favorite tamales spot in SoCal! We always come early to order a bunch to take back on the drive home. Just expect a little wait though.
There tamales are delicious, chicken tamale was little spicy, pork, cheese, tamales excellent, all there tamales are excellent and salsa they send with your order is delicious, don't forget your Champurado, it was tasty. Thanks for the great food.
Best Tamales I have ever had ♡ and I have eaten and loved them all my life and especially on Christmas♡ The frijole con queso or bean and cheeses is my absolute favorite. The gren chivken and red pork are so so good too. I stop here every chance I get.

I've been going to this place for 40 years.. The tamales keep getting more expensive. As the years goes by... Always worth the money though..
Hands down, the BEST mole tamales! Anytime I drive out to LA, it’s a must to stop by Tamales Alberto for delicious tamales and the softest bolios.
The yummiest tamales ever! They are soft not greasy. I tried a variety. You must try them they are the BEST!
Came to try the tamales and im so impressed the chicken and mole tamales are the only ones i got but let.me tell you they were so bomb
This afternoon was the first time I tried this tamale Mexican restaurant and I have to say that I fell in love with their freshly made chicken tamales I'm not sure if this is the same place everybody goes crazy for for the Christmas tamales but I'll definitely say I'll be coming back soon
The green chicken tamales were absolutely amazing! We came Christmas Eve and they were open and ready for business. I understand we came on a busy day so perhaps that is why we could not buy mixed batches. The flavor was amazing and the price decent. The only downside is that we could not get a mixed batch and you had to purchase them in half dozen or more. It would have been nice to be able to have partial one flavor and partial another flavor for a half dozen. The other Downside is that the chicken tamales were fridgerated and not hot. Therefore if you were planning to eat one in the car that isn’t an option. But, overall it was a positive experience and if I am in the area again I will def be getting another half dozen of chicken verde.
As many reviewers have already pointed out, the tamales here are exceptional. I tried several different varieties and every one of them was excellent! Standouts include the pork with red sauce, the chicken mole and the chili and cheese...but they were all delicious! And, the person that took my order [perhaps, the owner and/or manager of this restaurant?] was very friendly and welcoming. I only tried the wonderful tamales at this establishment, so I can't wait to try some other items from the menu.
What more is there to say about the best tamales shop in Los Angeles? Everyone I’ve taken here said they didn’t even know tamales could be like this. My favs are the mole, green chicken, beans and cheese and strawberry. The sweet and savory ones are both excellent. It’s also the best price in town. For $15, you get three tamales, wonderful sides of rice and beans, and a delecerable cafe de olla (Mexican coffee). Their other Mexican dishes are great too: chilaquiles with chips and chorizo for example. I come here once a week sometimes twice. Been a few years. Highly recommend.
I have been purchasing Albertos Tamales for Christmas for as long as I can remember. I didnt realize that Celaya bakery (where I first started purchasing the a long time ago.them) purchased the Tamales from Albertos. When Celaya Bakerly in Echo Park closed , they Opened Albertos #2 in Douglas. I still rive from Chino Hills to LA for these Tamales. I have tried places closer and even the popular place in ELA but I can only recommend Albertos. I am not a big Tamale fan and Albertos Tamale are perfect size and the Maza , meat ratio are perfect, The cheese Tamales are like no other, The green very spicy and the pineapple is so good. This year I tried the Mole and will definitely add it to my order next year. I shared a few with my coworkers and they also agreed that they are delish. If you dont like Dried Tamales or Tamales that are a brick of Masa and a small peice of dried meat. You will love these 🫔.

Delicious pork (red) and veggie (corn) tamales. At around $1.50 each they make for a good simple meal. Quiet place to to in; usually not a lot of people eating in, most people take their tamales to go. However, one cannot deny the area is a bit dangerous. I dined in on a weekday at lunch when a young girl of about 14 years of age "requested" a couple of tamales, and instead of paying for her meal, brandished a sharp object at the girl at the counter. She did politely thank the girl of the tamales and wished us good eats; nevertheless, her politeness did not lessen her crime.
I was carving for a tamale so I type the word tamale into Postmates and this place popped up. So, I order delivery didn't take long at all. There reasonable in price and decent in taste .
Great aguas frescas. Love the flavors which are simple and not mixed up. Great chilaquiles. Tried them with green and red salsa. Loved them both. Just started eating the tamales. Haven't been disappointed yet.
Really good food, is really close to what we eat in Mexico but not quite there yet, even so a really good option, I was satisfied. The red chilaquiles were really good, had some chorizo eggs on the side and one tamale (beef) to try, the prices were really reasonable like 13 dollars a person with the drink included. Overall I recommend this place for the quality of the food and the price .

Its good, after lunch the menu is limited to whatever was left from lunch because the cooks go home. But other than that, the tamales are yummy. I tried the cheese with rajitas, chicken mole, and chicken with green sauce. Each one was distinct and good.
I decided to give this place a try cause I was craving tamales so bad and the customer service was great. Parking was ehh but sadly the tamales were not good. Really dry and not that flavorful. I really wanted to love this place but I probably wouldn’t go back for tamales.
Tamales Alberto on Temple ave. I asked the lady at the register to write down/label the tamales so I know which one is which since I bought a few different kinds for my family party and when i came home and opened them she put 3 in each bag with names of all 3- I still don’t know which ones are which, which is why i asked her to label them. I even tipped her too. Pay attention to what customer asking instead of pretending to care.
I made a pickup order for December 24th, and it was a smooth process. I did pay cash because they said I would get a discount, but on the day they didn't discount anything ( I didn't mind, but don't say you will and then don't). Service on pickup was ok. They just gave me my order, and I paid nothing extra. The favorite tamales were the cheese with spinach and cheese with jalapeño. I also got the beans with cheese and fresa, but those didn't have a lot of flavor. They say you can freeze them, but frozen tamales aren't the same, better if you buy them hot and eat as many as possible, lol.

I would have given a better rating, but I just spent like 30 on tamales for the family and got almost all the wrong items. I ordered half chicken and salsa verde and half pork and salsa Roja. Instead, I got the right chicken ones and got all sorts of fruit flavored tamales instead of the half pork tamales. Who the hell is okay eating sweet tamales when they ordered pork? This is absolute B.S and they won't even answer the damn phone.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Placed an order on Grubhub, drove 17 minutes to pick it up and the girl at the front said that their grubhub orders aren't going through and they're sold out of warm chicken tamales. She offered to sell me cold tamales. Ummmm I already paid for this order! She then says umm, we don't have any then! This is exactly why I hate supporting little businesses, they are so unprofessional and inconsiderate! Support your street vendor!
I can’t even eat my tamales. I bought 4 tamales for me and my girlfriend, just a quick grab before I start getting ready for work. The chicken tamales I got taste like soap. My girl on the other hand finished hers and she got the pork one mainly because she’s hungry. But as one of the many line cooks in the field, my advice for this business is ALWAYS taste your food before pushing it to the line and please get better at food handling. I can’t believe I choose this place more than the street vendors cause I had tried way too cheaper and way more delicious tamales out there.
