Service was great and food was great! I hit the Sea bass and was cooked to perfection from the grill! Wife got the strip steak and left nothing behind. Food is la carta and got mashed potatoes and was a good size for 2 people. those were also amazing! will definitely go back
Absolutely loved our Anniversary dinner. Our server Heather took great care of us.. took some awesome pictures upon request. Loved the atmosphere and food as well. Overall a great experience.
We came for an early anniversary dinner since we were in town. Maurice was very attentive and congenial as our waiter. I would highly recommend the Seafood Bucatini: spicy without being over the top and the mussels were flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the carpaccio and sweet basil salad and were treated to a delightfully light cheesecake for dessert. Be alert that the lobster bisque is tasty but quite peppery. If we have the chance, we’ll gladly return!
We always come back for excellent service and food. . . and especially Lisa! She’s an unbelievable face of the Hotel - we came back to see her at the hotel. By the way, she serves the best orangecello in town and beyond. Even our adult children were looking forward to seeing her. We to go Lisa!
Catherine is a remarkable bartender and adds greatly to the overall experience here. Her old fashioned is impeccable and I highly recommend it. Also, we ordered something she could tell did not come out well and she substituted it for us without us having to ask. In a world where great service is quickly diminishing, Catherine for the win !
The lamb chops were grilled to perfection. The sides and starters were equally good.
Lisa was amazing. She made us feel right at home and comfortable. I can’t wait to come back
If I could give them 6 stars I would. Lisa’s customer service and attention to detail was legendary. Had the salmon dish, medium rare and seared to perfection. I have a severe allergy and she and the kitchen team made sure that I didn’t have any issues with the food. Not only did they make sure my entree was correct, they went above and beyond and made me a dessert without my allergens. Could not be happier with The Centro, will be back for sure!
Amazing service with Amazing food took my son there for his 15th birthday, and it was definitely the best ribeye ever! Catherine was our server and took Amazing care of us even though she was having to run back downstairs to make sure we were properly taken care of. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing also
My husband planned a staycation for us at the 9 and we had dinner at the on-site restaurant. Our server was very attentive. The food was EXCELLENT!!! The restaurant was beautiful. The table scape was so pretty! I loved everything about our visit!! Can’t wait to dine again!!
Had a wonderful lunch with Lisa! She was extremely attentive, fun, and generous and made the meal a 10/10 experience. Menu highlight is the lobster arancini 🦞
We stopped in for a quick bite after a seminar downtown. Great food, outstanding service, and a super cool design and ambiance. The locally hand-blown glass chandeliers were stunning!
Best Dirty Martine in Cleveland! By Lisa. Love to all.
Delicious vegan pasta primavera at the Centro! As a vegan who dines out a lot, I appreciate your attention to an often overlooked dish. The noodles were nice and meaty and stood out well in the dish. I counted five different vegetables and they were abundantly dispersed! I would only recommend salting the pasta water. Yummy thank you.
Had the meatballs for an appetizer -- incredible. Fantastic wine selection and drinks. Our server was so personable, sweet, and funny. I had the lobster bisque and braised short rib and my husband had the NY strip with mashed potatoes. Portions were great size, he had leftovers. The sides in particular are really large. Would absolutely return.
Fabulous homemade pasta and creative cocktails. Tuesday and Thursday is date night…so be sure to check out the special, which includes a shared salad, a shared pasta, a shared meat dish, and a shared appetizer, plus a champagne toast.
I phoned in a pickup order and the host (Tyriq I think his name was) was incredibly attentive and friendly. The level of service he provided was stellar.
Home base…Lisa and Josie held it down magically tonight. Joe and Moe take care of us and make every time special. Alexis runs a tight ship and Gerard…my man!
Lisa is amazing she makes the best between the sheets (also the best drink on the menu) !! Keeps the vibes on point and provides the best and most friendly service!
I really love the lunch menu I had the mushrooms truffle pizza and a Caesar salad. The bartender was a little slow at getting the orders in but other than that it was really good.
We love Centro! Lisa is fantastic. She has the best customer service and the best drink recommendations. Always greets us with her smile and cheerful attitude.
Visit Centro every Wednesday prior to show in Playhouse Square. Always great food! Lovely Saxophone music. Best server ever Maurice!
Lisa is an excellent bartender! She’s always friendly, attentive, and makes sure guests feel welcome. Her drinks are consistently great, and she brings such positive energy to the bar. Guests always leave happy after being served by her.
Centro delivered a fantastic experience. Beautiful ambiance, delicious food, and truly first class service. Dining at the bar felt just as comfortable and attentive as sitting at a regular table. Special shout out to Lisa for an exceptional evening. Highly recommend.
My husband and I had a great experience at The Centro over the weekend. The food was SO delicious and the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed multiple appetizers, two entrees and a dessert and I can say that everything we had we would have again! Thank you for a great experience! We will be back!
We rolled into town at 9:50 with my daughter from Cincinnati. And they opened their hearts to us and served us great food with a smile. We sat at the bar and Lisa was absolutely awesome. They had a busy night and had enough for us. We will be back. Loved it. Food was out of this world good.
I had a really enjoyable experience at this bar restaurant inside the 9. The ambience is classy and comfortable — definitely has that bougie, upscale vibe without feeling pretentious. The music was on point all night, setting just the right mood. The bartender was fantastic — super attentive, friendly, and clearly knows their craft. The drinks were well-made and beautifully presented. The food was good overall, though there’s a bit of room for improvement in portion size (too large?) to really match the quality of the setting. All in all, it’s a great spot for a night out, whether you’re looking to unwind with a cocktail or enjoy a chill evening with friends. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to others.
Lisa is a remarkable bartender. She not only relates and can read the room, but she also makes a mad Manhattan. Always full of stories and will make you laugh!
Lisa was absolutely amazing ! First time here and she walked us through everything and she was very professional but also very genuine, her recommendations were perfect ! We don’t get much time to go out and she made the night perfect ! We will have to come back and see her at the bar and also check out the le petit chef she told us about ! She is someone who makes you feel like you at home we will absolutely be back !
My daughter had a dinner for her 16th birthday. The atmosphere was amazing and she had a great time. The kids had pizza which they said was good. The adults only cocktailed and those wore okay. The waitress seemed upset because we didn't order more food but we didn't really see anything we liked. The truffle fries were okay. I wouldn't mind going back but not with the kids...this is not for them!
The service was impeccable. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed his commentary. The restaurant was pretty empty, but it was a Sunday evening with no sporting events downtown. We enjoyed the decor and it was easy to hear each other -no music blasting which I always appreciate. The food was just ok. My husband enjoyed his steak, but it did have a large amount of fat he had to cut around. My salmon was a little over cooked from the medium rare I requested and slightly bland. I could taste oil but it needs more seasoning/spice to even that out. It was overly charred so I was getting more burnt flavor than anything. I enjoyed the broccolini and couscous accompaniments. The mashed potato side my husband ordered was very bland. We did enjoy the lobster arginine (sp?) starter. I saw another table order salads that looked large and delicious, and truffle fries that I was jealous of. We'll likely be back before our next show and I'll try those!
For the price, food could of been better. Tasted like typical chain restaurant. The sea bass was the worst i have ever had, with that being said, it was still good. Service was mediocre at best. Did love the atmosphere
Solid food and good central location downtown Cleveland in The 9 hotel. Good option for shows at Playhouse, around the corner. The prices are tough to swallow (figuratively). Pasta dishes are all $35, steaks are $60, and specialties are $40-50. On the other end, they have reasonably priced pizzas at $15, however there are better pizza options throughout downtown. I understand that you are paying for atmosphere and this is an upscale hotel, but there’s not much in the middle price point range to make this a regular meal downtown, unless you are there for a special occasion. Entrees were above average, though a little salty. Recommend the meatball and crispy polenta cubes.
Good spot for drinks and apps before a show. Usually pretty empty. Before a Saturday 7pm show, most of the bar is empty so easy to get a spot. A little overpriced. $25 for 3 overcooked shrimps. Meatballs were great. Nice atmosphere.
Nice space in the bottom of The 9 hotel. I have been for dinner and brunch. Service has been very nice and like the atmosphere inside. The food is solid, but doesn't quite wow enough to match the prices. Last meal I had was brunch and I got the breakfast burrito. The burrito was good, nice fresh ingredients, but the hash brown on side were not crispy and had a little wierd taste to it. Bloody Mary was fresh made mix and was delicious. In the summer, there is some outdoor dining area that looks pretty nice. Will be back to check that out.
My husband and I were looking for something easy for brunch. Luckily, Centro, located in our hotel, was right downstairs. While the atmosphere is a bit fancy, we felt comfortable and not underdressed. The menu is small, containing basic breakfast dishes, and some brunch options. Our drinks were not very strong or flavorful. That disappointment dissipated when we were delivered our delicious Brunch Charcuterie board. For $25, you and a friend can chow down on delicious pastries, sausages, and pastries. One of my favorite menu ideas and I wish more restaurants would follow suit.
Food was wonderful. We did find it a bit pricey but it is a downtown restaurant so I guess that is to be expected. Service was phenomenal. Was nice to eat here and walk over to a show at rocket mortgage field house since it was so close. I think they could be more generous on their parking validation but oh well.
I was just there for brunch. The service was great. The food was underwhelming. I ordered the loaded truffle fries, which were supposed to have bacon. After we ordered, the server had come back to inform us that they were out of bacon. We took the offering of a sausage substitute, but it definitely was not the same. I originally ordered the breakfast pizza, but since there was no bacon, I changed my order to a margarita pizza. There was no basil on it. I don't expect perfection, but for these prices, I do expect bacon & basil.
My bf and I went here this past weekend to celebrate Valentines. The service was definitely great, our server was super nice and attentive. Now let’s get to the food. Bread and oil for the table was delicious, we ordered mussels for the appetizers and they were pretty decent for the price of $20. Next was our entrees. My boyfriend got the rack of lambs ($58), it was definitely overcooked. I ordered the braised short rib ($40) which was a pretty large portion but it could have used more sauce as it got dry. We also ordered some side dishes as well, the mashed potatoes which were dry and the creamed spinach. At the end, we also ordered the tiramisu which I was not a fan of. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. It’s just an overpriced restaurant that didn’t have the quality I was hoping for from what we spent overall.
Our management team dined here last week. Unfortunately, we left disappointed due to poor service. While the food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant, the restaurant appeared to be understaffed, and it clearly impacted our overall experience.
We made reservations on Christmas and when we arrived , we had to wait almost 10 minutes just for vallet and once we got into the building, it was another 5 to 8 minute. Nevertheless we had made reservations and therefore I didn’t like that we had to stand in front of the restaurant waiting for a clean table. So once seated, there were crumbs on the chair. The waiter was apologetic, but it just wasn’t enough for me. Would I revisit this place again? Probably not. The food was mediocre and the drinks were OK.
The food was great, the service from our waiter was just okay. He wasn't rude but he just seemed like he didnt wanna bother with us or was disinterested. Everyone else was nice. The atmosphere was okay. Little bit of dried food on the chairs and booths, dust in the candles, under our table was pretty dirty. All this wouldn't be a problem for me usually but we were expecting a fine dining atmosphere. Then at the end of the night a knat flew in my girlfriends food so she didnt even get to finish her meal, I'm sure they would've replaced it if asked but we were kinda bummed and just wanted to go at this point.
I love this place (well used to ) me and my husband come all the time as we live in the building connected to the restaurant. Last night 10/17 we had an unusual server he was new . I knew something was off with the way addressed us. Our order was mixed up he even walked away in the middle of me speaking . The unbelievable icing on the cake was COKE falling out of his pocket.
We were very disappointed with our experience, especially considering this reservation was made three weeks in advance for my birthday. Despite the restaurant’s upscale positioning, the level of service did not reflect a fine-dining standard. It took approximately 20 minutes before anyone approached our table to offer water, and nearly another 20 minutes to receive the wine we ordered. Our server was not attentive, and at no point did the staff acknowledge that we were celebrating a special occasion. Unfortunately, the lack of care and attention left us feeling let down to the point that we chose not to stay for dinner. We value quality service and hospitality, and this experience fell far short of what we expect from a high-end establishment. Based on this visit, we cannot recommend this restaurant for anyone planning a special night.
Went for brunch with our family of four. Everything was lousy. The chai tea I had ordered was delicious in flavor but wasn’t hot and the cup barely had any in it. We did not receive any refills of our drinks nor were we asked if we wanted them. The $25 brunch charcuterie board was an absolute joke. The “pastries” were these thawed out puffs filled with chocolate. They did not have too much flavor except for the fact that they kind of tasted the way the inside of a refrigerator smells. The bacon was not cooked the greatest. The waffles that came on the charcuterie board were dense and very sweet. The two eggs breakfasts did not come with any butter, jam, jelly or anything to put on the toast. The Margherita pizza was not good either unless you tried and liked those kid cuisine microwaveable pizza from the 90s. If you liked those, this would be a go to dish for you! It had pools of tomato water on top of it. For over a $100 meal, I am incredibly disappointed.
Lacks good customer service. The drink I had was good, my partner hated his. The desserts were 👎 we had the chocolate cake and the cheesecake, would not recommend. The chocolate cake had a fruity syrup over it, did not like it at all. The cheesecake was grainy and bland.
We were sooo excited to come here but unfortunately had the worst experience. Our server wanted nothing to do with us. We watched as he went to every table around us but avoided us like the plague then didn't say a word when he finally did come over. He didn't check on any of our food, offer additional drinks and we even had to go find pepper for our salad because that was also unavailable. We came in wanting to create content but our table was never pre-bussed to do so. Our appetizers were amazing but our entrees lacked flavor and the short rib was swimming in oil. We spoke with the manager and she was very helpful. But we never even got the chance to tell our server due to his inattentiveness.
If you’re craving a vegetable oil “blend” with olive oil and cheap white bread, this place is a must-visit. The watery sea bass is a must-try dish. They also have some strong drinks, and the waiter is friendly and ready to chat once he’s finished serving you and is ready to receive your tips. Unfortunately, I’m out now, but I hope you have a great time there. Just be warned, I won’t be returning anytime soon. I also forgot to mention the dry, dead flowers on the front desks as a first thought sign it’s a “holiday inn restaurant” typo. Don’t expect a lot.
This is the worst restaurant I've been to in Cleveland. I booked my reservation 3 weeks in advance. Wine. I got there, they said "you're going to get the best view in the house. Not only was our table bad, but it took 20 minutes, and me going up to the hostess stand to get a server. Our bottle at the store was $18.99 charged $47.99, but it didn't come for another 20 minutes. It got to the point that we ordered a table at another restaurant and decided to leave. NEVER COME HERE. Wood give 0 stars if not for the bread
Nice vibe and right downtown. However, clearly not a steakhouse. I ordered their New York Strip as Medium. It was charred and only the slightest pink in the very middle, the rest all grey and chewy. It tasted just burnt. Not worth $10 let alone the $60 they charge.
