The dough is okay. If they improve the dough, it'll be 50% better. The stews are good. The roast one lacks flavor, but the pork rind one is very good. If they let the stews cook a little longer, they'd get thicker and tastier.

I had picadillo gorditas with coffee for breakfast. My husband had two nopales gorditas and beans with cheese. He also had a slice of cake or corn pie. It's inexpensive and delicious. I recommend it. Elsa Verjan.

I love Doña Tota, but I'm not giving it 5 stars for one small reason: one of my favorites is the crispy pork rinds, and in warm climates, I've sometimes gotten them with a slightly rancid taste. I have no idea how to avoid this, but it's like eating peanuts and occasionally getting a bad one. Otherwise, the service is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the place is clean. Congratulations! 🎊

I don't know if it's the feeling of nostalgia it causes me or if they really don't taste like they used to. I don't want to sound like the person who says, "It was better back in the day," but the truth is, that's what I feel. And I'm not saying this so much about the stews, no, although sometimes I feel like they're missing something, but nothing a little salt and a lot of sauce can't fix. I'm referring to the dough they use. I don't know if it's because they refrigerate it, but they used to be made fresh, and the texture and flavor do vary a bit. I'm not saying they should hire someone to make them, but they should try to do something with the way they put them in the refrigerator, add something that keeps them richer or fresher, so that the flavor doesn't change. Another thing we need to talk about is the price. I feel like they're going a bit overboard with the prices they're using now. I understand that a lot of that budget is rent, electricity, etc. Everything is getting too expensive. But isn't there another solution? Change location? Rent a plot of land and set up tables with umbrellas (that seems to be the trend). But anyway, these are very technical issues. I just remember that it used to be packed all day, and now it's almost empty, at least not like it used to be.

Gorditas cooked on a comal (not fried), made of corn and flour, filled with stews: mole, carnitas in green sauce, chicharrón, asadero cheese, beans, etc. The only bad thing is the time it takes to serve them.

It took forever and they didn't give me my gorditas the way I ordered them. They need more staff for takeout orders, because even if you order in advance they prioritize takeout orders, and the food isn't good.

Se tardaron 1 hora en podernos entregar el pedido de 15 gorditas . Solo está una señora preparando (lentisima) y 1 cajera . Y muchísima gente esperando .

Two weeks ago I went there and noticed they were opening the plastic bags they used to store the stews, but instead of emptying the contents into the metal or stainless steel container, they were putting the stews in, bag and all, and the containers are exposed to the heat. So that day we ate stew still in the bag, and all the substances that type of plastic releases into our food. The woman who was taking payments and handling the money was also turning the gorditas over with dirty hands and adding filling. :S I'm not going back...

The service was terrible, the staff had a very bad attitude, and the quality of their food had dropped significantly. I ordered two bean gorditas, and they were like bean water. I won't go back.
