We were quite surprised with this place! This scratch kitchen was really bringing it. From the Caesar salad where you could taster every ingredient in the dressing, to some phenomenal steak frites (that lemon garlic Aioli was terrific) there’s not a lot you can go wrong with. The Shrimp pasta with chorizo and peppers was so flavorful, Both of our drinks were very bright and smooth, and I am not exaggerating: You HAVE to get the crème brûlée!! Their new cinnamon and vanilla notes really made a delicious dish. Staff were wonderful and fun, even in the chaos of a Saturday dinner rush. Restaurant looked quite nice, open concept was a nice touch. The only thing I will say is that the liquor bar next-door becomes very crowded very quickly, so plan accordingly and get yourself a reservation if you can. We will 100% be back to try the Brie fondue & some more items soon :)

Very nice restaurant. We went here the night before Valentine's Day and had a great meal and Greg was super nice explaining the dishes to us. The desserts were very delicious also Thanks!!🙏💗💝

Edwardo is AMAZING! Honestly he is born to be in the hospitality biz. He made our wedding at the Leveque Hotel magical! Never leave Edwardo! And Sam the bartender was AMAZING!! Visit the Keep bar/ restaurant at Leveque Tower! Top notch service. Professional!!

Love The Keep, a perfect, elevated dining experience that blends seemlessly within the art deco Hotel LeVeque. We enjoyed the charcuterie board, potato leek soup, and crispy chicken sandwich (with hot honey!). We had a late dinner after a day of traveling. We were concerned about being too late and the kitchen closing, but our server assured us we were welcome and truly made us feel as such. The food and drinks here are only outshined by the service. Can't wait to return to The Keep!

Ambiance!!! We found the Keep while in Columbus for a conference. The Hotel where the restaurant is was right across the street from our hotel. I was tasked with finding a spot for a group dinner and decided to the give The Keep a try. What can I say, we loved the place, and we loved it so much our group ate there more than once and afterwards members of group borught more people there for dinner and drinks. The menu is simple but covers a good array of food that almost anyone can enjoy. The wine list is extensive, and so is their collection of liqueurs, spirits and beer. We had a great time, great meals and of course we all were very happy with our drinks. When we return to the area, I'm sure everyone in our group will come back to The Keep.

Such a magical evening at the Keep! Thank you to Brandon and Greg for making it so extra special! The food was divine and the ambience was lovely! The extra touches and attention to detail meant so much to us for my son’s celebration. The live music in the lobby gave our evening an extra special touch. Thank you to the entire team at Hotel Leveque! We will be back soon! ❤️

We enjoyed our time at the Keep on Valentine’s Day. I didn’t love the sweet croutons on my Caesar salad and the steak could have been more tender, according to my husband, but everything was flavorful and the service and presentation of food were great. I even got a red carnation upon entry. Beware, if you plan on having a private conversation with your significant other, this may not be the place for you. All double tops were placed within inches of one another. So much so that I could hear everyone’s conversation and nearly hit my neighbor when getting in and out of my seat. Located next to the Palace Theater. A very short walk from the Ohio theater. We parked by the Ohio Theater, where we were seeing a show, for $15 and walked 5 minutes.

The staff was very friendly! Had Brie fondue and Roasted Brussell Sprouts to start. I had the Salmon and my friend had Short Ribs. But the best was the Butterscotch Creme Brulee, I could have licked the bowl it was so good! Definitely going back!

A beautifully ambient, cozy, decorative gem located in one of the most famous buildings in downtown Columbus. The layout and decoration is enough to want to be a returning customer. The waitstaff is attentive and kind, especially applicable to the management team who are knowledgeable, attentive, and kind. The backbar is amply stocked, especially with a wide variety of scotches, which is seeming harder and harder to come by. I’m excited to return for many visits to come.

Perfect for fine and casual dining. You are immersed into a 1920s era style dining experience. It is eclectic and beautifully designed. The food was elegantly served and tasted magnificent. I would highly recommend there brunch if you are looking for a new and amazing place, in downtown Columbus. It is within the hotel, on the second floor. You can enter via the side revolving doors or the ones next to the Starbucks. If you are staying in the hotel, they allow you to dine and charge to your room. Our server was very friendly, polite and informative. He provided great customer service as well as the employees. Very clean and well kept environment.

What an incredible spot for dinner. I had no idea that this place existed. Trish was our server and was friendly, knowledgeable and took care of us perfectly. The drinks were spot on and my wife loved the Brussel sprouts. I'm not a fan but I tried them and they were actually tasty. Our dinners were delicious and then we enjoyed a cocktail in the mezzanine before our show. I won't detract stars from the review for this, but the bar has a very non-sociable and pretty much rude bartender working there. I can understand being frustrated with being busy with folks due to the shows however she came off as annoyed that I was even ordering additional drinks. Again...maybe she was having a bad night which we all have, but for the job she does, sometimes you have to fake it so customers don't catch on to your sour mood.

I had such a wonderful experience at the Keep Kitchen last evening. The atmosphere in the bar was warm and inviting with lighting that made dinner feel extra special. The staff - especially Eduardo - was professional, efficient, and genuinely kind. My filet was cooked to perfection - beautifully seared on the outside, tender and flavorable throughout, and the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir paired with it perfectly. After dinner, Eduardo graciously gave me a small tour of the hotel. I loved seeing the artwork and the vintage style light fixtures throughout the space. The entire property is beautiful and I will absolutely be back for another stay.

Eduardo and the whole staff over delivered on service! Dinner and drinks were delicious. We are so excited to have our wedding festivities at Hotel LeVeque. Many thanks!!

It was absolutely amazing not only because it was my first time visiting, but because of the atmosphere and hospitality as a whole. I was greeted with the utmost respect and value. The staff impressed me so much that I had to let them know that I was going to report it and rave about them however I could. Jacqueline Cook impressed me with her grace and charismatic personality. I didn’t have an opportunity to feel uncomfortable or that I needed anything until she asked me. Even when I didn’t want something, she made me feel like I needed it and as advertised, it was amazing. I also had the pleasure of talking to and working with the Chief Engineer Gabe Witt. He followed up right after Jacqueline Cook with his also charismatic attitude, full of smiles. I wasn’t having a bad morning, but it wasn’t a great start. Instantly I was bombarded by the staff in the most positive way that made me forget about anything that happened before I entered into the LeVeque Hotel at the 2nd level restaurant. After a few more interactions I had to ask Gabe, “is everyone like this here.” He laughed and said that they (the staff) tries to do their best to accommodate the guest/customers. I replied that this is amazing and I haven’t had an encounter like this yet and I travel around quite frequently. These two staff members work in two totally opposite career fields, but both left an everlasting impression and memory of the standard of this hotel. They are both great assets to this company and has provoked me to not only comeback myself, but recommend this particular location to others. Lastly, Jacqueline Cook and Gabe Witt were outstanding today. They are the epitome of 5 Star Service. It is very rare to have this type of genuine and soothing encounter these days, but I did and I wanted to share my experience with everyone. Thank You! Jacqueline Cook and Gabe Witt You two are truly the GEMS of the company!!! P.S. Gabe made some of the best Pancakes I’ve tasted!!! Hats Off to LeVeque!!!

We dined here for Valentine's Day and our server, and particularly the host who stopped by our table several times to check on us, made us feel special even on this busy night. Great food and we loved the small, intimate atmosphere!

Stayed at The LeVeque and got the pleasure to receive excellent service at the Keep from Brian and Eduardo. Brian was pleasant and friendly and made one of the best French 75’s I’ve ever had. I even invited some of my friends who stayed at a hotel nearby to come and experience the amazing hospitality. Eduardo was extremely friendly and helpful. He had a fun loving personality and made sure my friends and I enjoyed ourselves every step of the way! Can’t wait to visit again soon!

We had a wonderful dinner at The Keep! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was excellent — everything was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. A special thank-you to Eduardo, who made the evening even better with his outstanding service. He was attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back and will be asking for Eduardo again!

The property is an incredible art decor building accentuated with a great art collection, however, the real differentiator was the front line staff . Specific recognition for outstanding service : Brent - front desk Eduardo (restaurant/ bar) and his staff (Sam, Patrick, Darnell) Thanks again for enhancing and complimenting my stay.

Everything was absolutely amazing at the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. What truly made the difference was the outstanding service. Starr was exceptional — attentive, kind, and genuinely caring, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. His professionalism and positive attitude elevated the entire dining experience. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I had dinner here, and our server Eliza was so fantastic. I have a gluten allergy and she made a few suggestions and was very accommodating. I had the airline chicken, and it was delicious! Like, “lick the plate clean” kind of good. My husband had the special which was a smoked pork dish (I think?) the kitchen was trying out for the first time, and he said it was incredible! Amazing service, amazing food. Thank you Eliza!

The Keep is amazing! i’ve now been there twice and it was a wonderful experience both times. The service is great; Eduardo insisted i had a seamless experience both times. he has a positive attitude and wants to make sure everyone is enjoying their experience. all of the food was immaculate! the bartender created unique mocktails for me, which added to everything and made my experience feel special and tailored to me. the ambiance is spectacular and the hotel that this restaurant is located in is beautiful. i highly recommend going here!

Could not have been more impressed! From the hostess, bartender, and manager, every interaction I had was great! The chef created a unique dish to fit my dietary preferences and on their first day, the bartender made one of the best vodka martinis I’ve had. Thank you to Shyliss and everyone one for a wonderful experience.

The staff was absolutely amazing from the moment I stepped inside The Keep. I was greeted so warmly by Eduardo and his fellow staff and immediately seated at the chef’s counter, which made the experience feel extra special. The food and service (shoutout to Greg) were excellent, and it was the perfect start to my evening before heading to the theater next door. The space is beautiful and cozy, especially lovely for the holiday season. I will definitely be back. Hotel LeVeque is always a must, and if you’re not stopping by The Keep for a cocktail or dinner, you’re doing it wrong. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening from start to finish.

Big shoutout to wanele for the amazing room service! 🤩 Me and my wife didn't feel like heading to the restaurant, and I think she sensed something because she asked if we were okay. We told her, and she advised us to order and have it delivered to our room 😊. Food was delicious and service was top-notch 💖. Thanks for making our stay even better, wanele

The 3 of us visited here for the first time. Edwardo greeted us kindly.Eliza was our server, who was wonderful. We had the charcuterie, along with hamburgs and salads. Delicious. Our wine was wonderful, too. Topped off with an apple dessert. We will be back!

Friday 5/23 was our first time visiting and we had high expectations based on hearing such incredible reviews! We were one of like 6 tables in the restaurant for the entire 3 hours we were there. It was very slow! Based on reviews and the price point , I had expected the atmosphere to be a little “fancier” than it was, with some couples in sweat pants and leggings and the host in jeans. This obviously doesn’t impact my experience but just an observation. I was a little disappointed that it seemed like the chef / bar counter was being used for storage of some sort, or maybe rolling silverware which was giving a really unpolished look. Eduardo was extremely friendly and had excellent menu recommendations! If we come back, we’ll absolutely be requesting to sit with him. ⭐️Charcuterie board was good but fairly basic. ⭐️Calamari was delish! ⭐️Short ribs were tender and flavorful! I subbed mashed potatoes instead of grits but was brought grits anyway and they were actually SO GOOD! ⭐️ the espresso martini was hands down one of the best I’ve had in Columbus! Adding in - I called Friday early afternoon and asked if the valet accepts card payments and was told yes. When I arrived, valet said it was cash only ($20) and there was an ATM inside with a $4 fee. We used the ATM and then had to wait for 15 min at the hotel desk for change for the valet tip. They never even moved our car from the front of the restaurant for the three hours.

The ambiance off this place is simply fantastic. Very roaring 20s. Only one minor complaint was one of the gas lamps kept making an awful noise. Our server was quite wonderful, very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. The cocktails were delicious and the selection was pretty good. We shared the charcuterie board to start and it was very out together and very balanced. The cheese and jams complimented each other quite nicely. My husband got the 12oz strip steak and it was cooked almost too perfection. It was a very good medium rare. I got the sweet potato gnocchi and it was pretty delicious. My only complaint was it wasn't as hot as I had hoped. However, it was an overall enjoyable dining experience and we're will definitely be back.

My "Galaxy Bloom" cocktail was delicious and refreshing. The "Keep Salad" was pretty basic. It's a cool spot inside Leveque Tower.

The food here was delicious although initially everything was very abnormally delayed. You know going in this is not a place where one is going to experience, nor desires to, a speedy dinner. However, it was 40 minutes after being seated on a Wednesday night for our drinks to arrive (wine and a listed mix drink) and that seemed odd. Nonetheless, the food was delicious, the selections were varied and unique, and the ambiance was soothing. Fantastic place to have celebrated my birthday!

The food was good. Portions were small, but that's not surprising for an upscale restaurant. I was disappointed in the butternut bisque. It could have been more flavorful. It was also not warm enough. However the French Onion soup was rich and amazing. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but you only get 3 for $34. The white fish and shrimp small plates were very good but I was surprised that the shrimp wasn't spicier since it was Cajun. The drinks were around $12 which is on the high side for Columbus restaurants, but they were at least strong. The service was great and our server Emily did a good job of timing our courses.

Loved The Keep. I’m a bit of a burger snob and The Keep Burger was delicious and very well seasoned. Eduardo took great care of us. Very attentive and friendly. Will definitely go back!

The AC was broken… Would’ve been nice to know before we paid over $100 for our meal. The food was very good and well worth the price, but coupled with the heat we felt in the room? Wouldn’t go back. My cocktail tasted like straight tequila, but the flavor was still there. Honestly, wish someone would’ve given me a heads up. I wouldn’t have eaten there if someone would’ve decided to give me the courtesy, as a paying customer, that their AC was blown.

Our server was great, very polite, but just a little slow with check-ins. The food took a longer time than expected to be ready and wasn't quite worth the wait. The brussel sprouts were overcooked and seemed a little burnt. Wouldn't recommend it as an appetizer. The french onion soup was very rich and was the only outstanding dish of the evening. The burger, cooked medium, was juicy, but the buns were a little soggy. The fries that came with it weren't too crispy, which was a disappointment, but they still had some nice seasoning. The New York strip was juicy and tender but more on the rare side of medium rare and wasn't well seasoned. The seasoning didn't coat it evenly, and I got one bite where the only thing I tasted was pepper. The gouda mac and cheese was a nice side, though. We got the cheesecake for dessert, and it was very good but not outstanding. Overall, it's not worth it for the price.

For the price point, you're better off going to Lindeys or even AC Hotel's Lumin Sky Bar and Kitchen. I was quite disappointed in the food here. When I received my salad (the keep salad), my first mind was to close the tab and eat somewhere different. I should've gone with my gut. I ordered the pork belly scallops which came with a wonky risotto. I returned the plate picked over because I just couldn't stomach it. The food came warm, not hot. There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. Very disappointing. Also, they charged me $4 for cold bread and butter. There are so many good restaurants in Columbus. This is NOT one of them. I highly recommend Lindeys (make a reservation if more than 2 people and you don't want to sit at the bar), Sidebar, Hyde Park Steakhouse, Parlay, The Guild House, to name a few...

I chose to celebrate my birthday here and they weren't very celebratory! I mentioned several times it was my birthday and they never said happy birthday or even offered a piece of dessert 🤨 the food wasn't consistent by the end of the night. I had guests come later and order the same items but different quality. The vegetable Shepard pie was like mash potatoes and gravy with no vegetables 🤷🏽‍♀️

C
Chy S.

Food and service here was just okay, the atmosphere and location has a lot of potential, but we were the only people dining in at the time and found that the food and drinks were on the pricy side for what you're getting even with a hotel service discount. Wouldn't be so bad if it didn't seem like such a limited menu, the pork belly was okay, but mussels needed a lot of seasoning, and overall things tasted overcooked. Expectations were a bit higher considering the cost of hotel stay & nice atmosphere.

Went for the first time during restaurant week and was not impressed. When I arrived no one at the host stand, seated with Elizabeth as server and she was very bad at timing when to enter my order with the kitchen. Took 2 bites of app and then boom entree. Kitchen failed too. Short ribs and mac were so so so bland. Then the dessert was a total lie! Beignets should be served hot and fresh, not cold and hard. Also the filling was an unwanted surprise because it wasn't mentioned on the menu or else something else would have been ordered entirely. Only good thing were the brussel sprouts

J

Average service , told we could have a window seat for view for our 55th wedding anniversary. Did not have as promised. Only one window seat. Prime rib very tough little flavor. Will never go again.

S
Sarah Will

The atmosphere brings you in but they seem very understaffed as you should be prepared to wait a long time for meh. Took so long were weren’t able to order main before having to leave for our show next door. We gave ourselves almost 2 hours for dinner. We never had dinner.

j

The Keep has very nice visuals both in the bar and restaurant area, the rest is just like all of the other lower reviews. Service is brutal, especially considering the place wasn't full, and the food is heavily reliant on butter. We had reservations and waited 10 minutes at the host stand before we were greeted by anyone. We stood for another 10 before being led to our seats. At the table there was a wait until we received water, and one person was left without water. There was a heavy delay from ordering drinks until they arrived, and drinks sat empty for at least 20 minutes before being asked for a second round. Another heavy delay before they arrived. The second round came out when dessert was served. The entire party agreed that the soups were the favorite of the night. The rest of the food was cooked well but doesn't stand out, everything tastes like butter. We expected a bit more from this price point. Barcelona and Lindey's come in at a similar cost but offer meals with a bit more character. Happy to have tried it, don't see ourselves coming back.

N
Nicki Marie

Waited half an hour to get apple cinnamon pancakes, when the showed up they were covered in syrup, no whipped cream. Handed them back, waited another 20 minutes for the worst tasting pancake I've ever had that was brought out with no apples or whipped cream. Didn't eat them at all. Server was awful.

This review is based on a Thanksgiving Day meal, which did not include their regular menu. That said, it was a disappointing experience all around. We’ve had several Thanksgiving Day dinners out, so our experience and expectations gauge is tuned from past encounters. The buffet was extremely limited, and the majority of the “hot” food was only slightly warm. A single bread option? Really? Two salad choices? Both turkey and ham were tough and dry. Our reservation was early afternoon, so using the excuse that the food may have been out for a long time is not justifiable. This would have been a fair and reasonable meal at $25 per adult, not the $55 per person they charge. Not a recommendation.

S
Stefani Muller

Having previously eaten at this swanky location I felt confident setting a reservation an hour and a half before our show time. We showed up ten minutes early to check in, and once greeted we were told specifically our table would be ready in six minutes and we promptly moved out of the way of the main restaurant thoroughfare. That was a mistake. Despite check ins they started seating based on arrival at the host stand. After two managers passed us and promised to "be back soon", I got to re-live my management days because the lack of communication meant they tried to seat an already sat six top, two times. And somehow it got worse when we finally got to our table. After an hour and fifteen minutes in the building with others receiving the full service of appetizers, dinner, and checks before we ever got a plate of food places in front of us. Based on the front door experience we ordered our drinks and appetizers, as well as dinner the moment we got the chance, asking our server to please ring in our drinks and fondue appetizer, and then promptly put in our dinner order because one of my guests eats cooked meat instead of the blue steaks I saw served all night. I have never in my life walked out on almost 200 dollars worth of food, but as I never received a plate, I thought it was kind of my mother to pay some money towards the one round of drinks we received.
