Opinions de Rocco's Bar & Grill Colusa
The food here was extremely tasty! Every bite was full of butter and good graces, the Rocos bread (garlic bread appetizer) was excellent! The vinegarette and garlic really shine throughout the sourdough(not sure if it wasn't sourdough but it was delicious. The front part of this place is a Bar with a dining room and kitchen in the Back. Selections of steak or pasta and other meals really peaked my interest. Only down side was that the waitress was so busy, but the staff was friendly and kind enough for a sit down dinner all n all.
Charming old world little place for a great meal. We presented with a party of 10 for the lunch hour and they knocked it out of the park with service, food quality, and atmosphere. It is a narrow space so can get loud when busy, but when enjoying your experience that is a non issue. There was an presentation happening in a closed off room so they also are a great location to host business trainings or large parties. Did not get pictures of the food but I enjoyed the Quinoa bowl and they far exceeded my expectations. All the sandwiches and fries were generous and the onion rings were impressive in size. Highly recommended.
Food and service was exceptional! I can only dock 1 star for the Atmosphere as it became crowded very quickly. But I think that is because the patrons all know how good it really is! Steak sandwich was amazing!
We went on a busy night when at one point there were several groups waiting for a table. The staff did an impressive job getting everyone taken care of and clearly ran their butts off. Food was great, the smoked beef dip = awesomeness. Not being a local I'd have to assume this is the local's go-to spot in Colusa. We really enjoyed our time here.
Went back to Rocco's Bar and Grill because not only is it the only place open after 8 p.m. but their food is delicious. It looks a little funky when you walk in because there's a bar in front but it's really a nice restaurant with great staff, friendly people and excellent food. We always go for the amazing burgers. Their fries are awesome but I really love the onion rings!
A great find to relax and enjoy a good beer and nice food. My steak (Filet Minion) was excellent. Super friendly servers. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely return.
Love this place and the staff. Generous portions.
Such a great local restaurant. Good people great food. Stakes are amazing. Brisket burgers are sooo good. Garlic bread is to die for.
We came for the Wednesday BBQ and lived the variety on the platter. Tasty!
Oh my goodness! What a great place. The atmosphere, food and service were wonderful. Mushrooms Fries were incredible and the sauce was so delicious I could drink it. Great pairing. Don't let the name "Mushroom Fries" fool you, THEY'RE HUGE!. Can't wait to go back
Excellent food and incredibly good service. Friendly staff. The venue is also fantastic. Spotless clean and very well maintained. Especially liked the modern comfort while still preserving the historic looking building. I would definitely eat here again. My one suggestion would be to add a couple more vegetarian options to the menu.
My wife and I split the Hickory Burger and had a couple beers each. Food was amazing! Big portions and the garlic parm fries were crispy with huge shaving of parmesan and plenty of garlic. Burger was cooked perfectly and very savory. Beers were ice cold and waitress/bartender made sure we were taken care of.
Attentive and friendly staff plus the food (hamburger and fries) was excellent. Not at all the usual burger fare but more like homemade bbq quality. Looking forward to going back and trying something else. The salads looked and sounded interesting.
This place has delicious food. The burrito bowl with breaded shrimp is Gluten Free and super delicious. anyone with food allergies that is a great dish to try!
Absolutely delicious!! Had the Bistro Steak sandwich with horseradish mayo, cooked perfectly!!! Medium rare! With the best seasoned french fries. My wife had the Hickory Burger, cooked medium ( perfectly cooked!!), with sweet potatoe fries that were delicious! Great service and was able to chat with the owners, Don and Carolee and see the expansion they have created! Love it! We'll be back!
On Jan.22 of this year, my family celebrated my daughter's birthday at Rocco's. We had reservations for the busy 5PM dinner time and we were seated immediately. The waitress was patient while we all made our choices. This is sometimes difficult for me since I am vegetarian. The waitress informed me of meat broth in Rocco's rice and helped me substitute couscous. Everyone enjoyed their dinners, especially the garlic bread. We were impressed with the service, like water glasses repeatedly refilled. We had plenty to take home too. Then the waitress brought a beautiful sparkling mouthwatering desert for my daughter. We each got our own dessert after that! I recommend that you too have a wonderful celebration at Rocco's!
This place was very good. We parked in the back and walking in by the kitchen reminded me of the scene in Goodfella's where they enter the nightclub through the back. We ordered a fantastic bottle of red wine, in fact the best tasting red we have ever had, it was a "Non Typical" made in Lake County. All of the food was great, their homemade chips and onion rings, it was all 10 out of 10 good. I highly recommend it.
Fun place with great food and excellent service. The Rocvo's bread is amazing.
Great food and awesome service. Wonderful place to gather w/friends and family.
We had a great dining experience. I had the chicken pot pie and my husband had Rocco’s pastrami. We came away pleasantly stuffed. Good beer. Historic building with wonderful restoration.
I can say that their open face prime rib sandwich was very tasty. Can't say much for their tri tip dip very dry very blan onion rings were impressive in size but way to big to be enjoyed but people let me tell you that their bread pudding dessert hit it out of the ball park 😀 atmosphere is wonderful and I can't wait to try different meals there
Food is always delicious. Service is excellent. New menu includes ahimsa Pike Nachos. Delicious!
Has some of the best food around. The interior is beautiful, the service is great, bathrooms are clean, no more expensive than your typical restaurant. Love going there
Rocco's cooks exceptional steak. The restaurant also boasts delicious bread, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, salads, and soups (the chicken noodle is my favorite). Chef Don Litchfield is a master of his craft. My favorite appetizers are the jalapenos. They aren't the frozen and reheated fake-cheese kind found in nearly every other restaurant. Instead, Chef Litchfield makes them from scratch with fresh jalapenos, real cheese, and wraps them in bacon. Another highlight is Rocco's Bread, a sourdough loaf loaded with cheese, garlic, balsamic glaze, and optional chili flakes. From what I know, Chef Litchfield is vehemently opposed to having a microwave in his kitchen. For the patron, this means the food is fresh. The servers excel in making sure the food arrives at your table hot as well. The Rocco's servers are efficient and they work hard. The bartenders are attentive. I am consistently impressed by the service at Rocco's. In the instances I have ordered take-out, the food has always been ready at the promised time. Moreover, the take-out process is seamless because the kitchen is on-point and the servers' work ethic is outstanding.
Great food! Their famous cheese bread is a must and they even offer take & bake or shipping nationwide, which says a lot about this bread. I had the steak and fries which was steak bites over fries drizzled with chimichurri, steak was cooked perfectly, fries were crispy and their chimichurri was delicious. They have a decent wine selection, so I had a glass. My husband had the hickory burger with fries and he enjoyed it. I would definitely come again the next time I come to Colusa.
So we just had lunch at this place and they brought me whole onion deep-fried rings. A half a pound of hamburger on a beautiful bun with all the trimmings including sprouts and avocado and it was the best food I've eaten in a long time I'm going to give them a five star that waitresses the atmosphere the place was just awesome but I am going to tell you for two hamburgers french fries and onion rings and a couple drinks what's 62 bucks so that's quite a lot of money. But they loved my dog. And apparently they named their restaurant after their dog very awesome please thank you Sabrina for your beautiful welcome and your beautiful smile and we will see you again sometime
Rocco’s is a great hang out in colusa. The lunch is amazing and servers are very nice. The food wait time was not that long and the quality of it was fantastic. We will definitely be come here more often.
Visited Colusa on a business trip and stopped into Rocco's, self seating (we ate at the bar) and cozy atmosphere. Food came out quickly and Taryn was very attentive supporting all the requests at the bar. Forgot to take an immediate photo of the food since I was hungry but Fish & Chips was delicious, great seasonings on the fish and fries. Chicken and waffles also gets the thumbs up along with the tri-tip dip and BBQ stacked bacon brisket burger. Food coma leaving the place.
What nice folks! WOW that's some appetizer!!😆 Onion rings are so good and huge!!! Great fries and wow huge portions!❤️ Good beer and nice atmosphere.

We stopped on the way through expecting just a run of the mill bar but we very pleasantly surprised! Good beer, the burger and french dip were both amazing, the server was friendly, and we didn't have to wait long on the food. We stopped at a bunch of places on our trip and somehow this was the unanimous favorite.
Perfect every time! Love Rocco’s in beautiful downtown Colusa! Upscale bar & grill relaxed ambiance with lovely, attentive servers and amazing burgers (chef’s kiss to the Rocco’s chefs who make me a well-done burger [likely against their better culinary judgment] consistently - THANK YOU)!! Plus they have killer lunch and dinner specials, fresh salads, great apps, and reasonable happy hours. What’s not to LOVE? Totally 5-stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!
Terrific hometown, pub, in a revamped historic building. House-made potato chips and dip were terrific; garlic fries were nonstop garlic! Excellent fries came with everything. I ordered the tri-tip steak bowl and it was amazing. Wonderful small town atmosphere, as everyone knows everyone. Small town, big state! Thank you for a stranger’s welcome.
Ate at Rocco’s and hands down had one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. The food was on point, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. The staff was excellent and genuinely friendly, which always makes the experience even better. Taryn was especially nice, welcoming, and attentive — great customer service all around. Definitely coming back and highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area 👌🍔

We arrived at 7:15 waited for a table. After we were seated the waitress never gave us a menu, we asked another customer if we could use their menu. We waited 30 minutes before our order was taken. We asked for water with a slice of lemon and received a large bottle of cold water with four small plastic cups, no ice and no lemon. Several items on the menu wasn’t available, including baked potatoes. After receiving our food it was delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Steaks are bit pricey, but they’re large and thick. Definitely worth what you’re paying for. I will return. Just allow yourself 2 hours. We were the last customers to leave the restaurant at 9:30.
This was great. Our second time here & as good as the first. I started with a long Island iced tea, which was really good! For my dinner I had the steak sandwich with horseradish sauce, rare, & it was perfect! Comes with a variety of fries, salad or soup. My husband got the tri tip dip w\waffle fries & loved it! We got a side of potato soup & will get it every time from now on. It's not a huge menu but big enough. I can't wait to try more.
Delicious steak excellent Rocco’s bread really cold beer enjoyed the atmosphere. Excellent customer service really recommend the place.
Worth getting off I-5 at Highway 20 and driving 15 miles to Colusa for NorCal’s best onion rings. The big smoker out back added a nice flavor to the pastrami on the sandwich I devoured. Generous chunks of tasty tender steak on the salad Miss Elle ordered. A new menu item was fish & chips and based on the batter on the rings it’s gonna be a hit. High winds the day we visited made outdoor dining impossible. The clientele seemed to be all locals, a good indicator in my book. Dog friendly. Our server was upbeat knowledgeable, and efficient. For desert the bread pudding (2-spoons!) was yummy. We’ll have to come back some evening and order from the dinner menu and maybe….a bump up to 5-Stars.
Great service. Fun decor... I like maps. Interesting food if you like trying new things. Fried green beans and fried mushrooms are little greasy. Have the garlic bread... Ate it all except for 3 pieces!! Great fries too.

Visited Jan. 27th .see receipt. While in Colusa I was recommended to try this place. They open at 11am for lunch. The inside is rustic with a hometown feel. They have a full bar as well. I tried the aged beef sandwich that comes with a jus and a side. I chose the soup, which was chicken with poblano with the right amount of spice and it was delicious! Unfortunately the sandwich was lacking in flavor for my taste and the portion of meat could have been more ample. The bread was soft and delightful and the A jus helped enhance the flavor. They have daily "blue light specials" that are more wallet friendly that include a entree with a side and a soda (15 bucks). The waitress said that have great Wednesday night specials and the weekends are packed for prime rib. It's a nice and much needed spot in Colusa. The waitress (Olivia) was very accommodating and friendly! Customers are friendly as well. I can see coming back on a Wednesday night when they have their smoker going! It was still a really good experience and will definitely come back again!

Second visit to Rocco’s and wasn’t disappointed again! I had the steak bite appetizer which was good, I’d prefer my blue cheese on mine 😂. My spouse had the wedge salad with steak, this is his go-to and thinks Rocco’s has the best one. I think it’s a tad expensive at $17 for the salad and then $7 more for the steak, but it’s huge and he loves it! We’ll continue to dine here when we want to drive out to Colusa.

The steak is a must! Don’t order the fried items. They obviously come from frozen boxes, and they don't know how to fry them crispy and perfect. They came out terrible. I can’t say I’m a regular, but I’ve been coming about once a year for the past eight years.

Jocelyn, is the worst service I’ve ever had at a professional restaurant. Her attitude and service was horrific.
I wish I could say something more positive like the other ones here who left a review. But my experience here was nothing close to theirs. The ambiance here is nice and that's a factor for a good dining experience for sure. It just didn't match the food I expected I was going to have. The fettuccine was very bland. I could have boiled some pasta at home, bought some garlic alfredo sauce and garnished it with some chopped parsley and rosemary and it would have tasted better and I'm not even Italian. Maybe the other items on their menu might be worth the time coming back but I certainly won't anytime soon.
