Maguey's was the place to be back in my days. And it's still the place to be today. I believe Maguey's upgraded their business over the years and I love the atmosphere still. It's a pleasure being there hearing the rare soul oldies and mingling with peeps your age. Always will be my favorite place to be on the weekends. 💥🎶🎵

It's a dive bar and that is not a bad thing. There is enough TVs everyone can see whatever is playing. The drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders are friendly.

The actual bar inside is fairly big which leads me to believe they either cater to full crowds at some point or really enjoy ample bar size for their bartenders. Friends said they thought the drinks were a bit overpriced. I feel they could've promoted the drink specials and the theme better. They had like 6 TV screens affixed throughout the bar but they were all off, use your marketing and get me excited to drink, maybe like $3 beers before 10pm or something, at least then I could understand the cover charge. There is an attached table space they've cleared out for a dance floor which I really enjoyed. The lighting could've been better, went from dive to dungeon real quick and ambience is so important, I believe the glow of the TV screens illuminating some drink specials and the 80s theme could've went a long way to promote the experience. For this particular night which was a themed dance event. I'd rate: dimly lit dive that happens to have a floor where dancing may occur if you like the music. Most likely an off night, I can imagine a game night with plenty of seating and TVs on and outdoor patio being used.
