Opinions de Villa Italia Conroe
I love the food, the service, and how cute and romantic the dining room looks. My waitress was so nice. The food was better than my mom's cooking, you can't say that about a lot of food. Everybody should at least try the food here and see how they like it. Would definitely go back with my husband and the family.
Old Italian charm, IN CONROE! Delicious, i want to take home all the bread. Italian sausage yum, lasagna was absolutely delicious. We are adding it to our restaurant lists.
Food was delicious and service prompt. Older home( original floorplan) turned restaurant has dining in several rooms. The main drawback... entrance isn't wheelchair accessible nor does the restroom appear to be.
This is a quaint, cozy, wonderful place to eat! We are from Iowa and this place was recommended to us by our resort. The food was extremely flavorful. My husband had the veal marsala and found it to be one of the best he has ever eaten. The garlic bread was fresh and hot and the garlic oil to spread or dip the bread in was fantastic. The service/waiter was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions for us when asked. Of course we had to finish with a slice of chocolate cake. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly encourage everyone to try it out.
This restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious. We had the eggplant parmesan, chicken marsala and spaghetti and meatballs in marinara sauce...all of it was superb. Our server Jonathan was quick, attentive and knew the menu. The chef Jose had us drooling as we waited for our meals. This place does not disappoint. The food is fabulous!
Food was great! We reserved in November to confirm the place could handle 30 people in December. When we arrived they called to confirm the incorrect number. Simple mistake, but they were able to accommodate us anyways. Having a vegetarian in the group caused some initial troubles but after some pursuading of the waiter we were allowed a vegetarian dish since the limited group menu does not have a vegetarian option. The place was also very welcoming and had an amazing atmosphere.
My wife and I have been here a few times. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is friendly and excellent, but the food is what you will want to come back for. The depth of flavor in their pasta sauce is outstanding. This most recent time I had the veal parmigiana. It was excellent in every way. 10 out of 10 will be back soon.
My family and I had dinner here on Monday night and it was nothing short of exceptional. The service was wonderful. They sat us in a room with a big round table - we were the only ones in the room. Our drinks stayed full, the bread and garlic dip was delightful. We all had different meals and they were all cooked to perfection. We finished off our meal with a shared bananas foster and it was also perfect. We love to find special little places like this and it will be on our list of places to return to, for sure. They were very nice to our children, even our noisy baby. I can't imagine that the 1 star review on google is even kind of accurate. Everything was clean, dusted, put in a place. It has a very homey but romantic feel to it. It is an old house so naturally it is an OLD house...but it was just perfect. Jose and his wife were so friendly for our entire experience.
A hidden gem that I somehow missed until now. Set in a converted house, it's a small and cozy restaurant with an old-fashioned atmosphere to delight anyone wanting a quiet meal. The food was delicious and clearly made from scratch with care. My tortellini had the richest and creamiest sauce I've had in a long time, and in a generous portion. Daily specials are offered and a simple lunch menu is available for quicker and cheaper bites. This place is certainly worth going out of the way for.
It is a definitely a house-turned restaurant that has a quaint feel to it. I will say I did present a challenge for them with a reservation of 22 and unknowingly 9 out-of-town folks arrived at last minute; also adding church rehearsal ran late (Of which no blame to the restaurant). If anything, waitstaff can use us as an example to improve on how to improvise in situations like this and work on promptness and quick thinking after you get seated. The restaurant has a selected menu for private parties and it was NOT a disappointment - EVERYONE enjoyed their food as well as the garlic bread, salads, drinks and desserts!!! Question is would I recommend this restaurant? YES.
This lovely restaurant was recommended by a co-worker several years ago. It is nestled near downtown Conroe in a refurbished old house. The food is exceptional. This service is better than any 5 star restaurant you would find in a large populated city. The cosy intimate setting would be great for a date night, brunch or work luncheon. If you are in the area, please stop by. The next time I'm in the area, I plan to do just that.
Moved here to Conroe 10 years ago from the Boston area. If you know anything about Boston, you know the Great Italian food in the North End. Well, I found a Restaurant that is as good as the North End of Boston for Italian food. This place is authentic as it comes you will not be disappointed.
This place is a hidden gem. The food was absolutely amazing! We will be back.
Amazing family owned restaurant. So much respect for the history of the place, and the owner is super welcoming. The food was fresh, homey and delicious. Will definitely be coming back often.
This restaurant is amazing! The food, staff, and especially the owner are exceptional. If you come here you must try the tiramisu. All of the food is made to order, so it’s as fresh as you can get it. Lastly - the building, decor, and layout is full of character. It’s a slice of Italy in the heart of Conroe. Thank you!!
Excellent, you love Tuscan Italian, must try. Started with hot garlic bread and oil garlic and herbs. Tomato Basil and Cream of Mushroom soup. Entrée Fresh made Crapes stuffed with ricotta and fresh spinach with White Cream sauce. In-house made Tiramisu cake so light and good. Had to take a Cannoli to go. End with fresh coffee. Worth the FIND in Conroe
Lunch was great and at a really good price and even came with a unexpected slice of strawberry cake. The wife had the lasagna which was very good and I had the veal special that came with shrimp and artichoke hearts with a white cream sauce and everything was cooked perfect for only $17, nice little cozy house in downtown Conroe, very clean inside and will be back to try more of the menu
Was looking at some neat little places to eat in conroe and ran across this gem of an Italian restaurant. The place is a converted home that is very well done, nice quiet Italian music playing softly to set the mood, every room is decorated with really cool Odds and ends. The prices are on par with other restaurants of the same types of food, the portions are very hearty, i wasn’t lacking for both quality and quantity. If your looking for some really good Italian food, i highly recommend Villa Italia, they will not disappoint.
Best kept secret! Shhhh don't tell anyone how great it was!!!! The food, the service, the atmosphere. Wow they serve alcoholic beverages now! Jan had veal, shrimp & artichokes in brandy sauce. I had veal piccata. Both hefty servings and delicious. The wine was good and a generous pour. When you doing the tiramisu was perfect, as was the coffee. Another wonderful evening.
My wife and I go here often. It's our "special" place. It's an old house but has tons of character. We feel like were in another country! It's quaint, like a restaurant you might see in a Godfather movie!! It's Hispanic family owned and we've gotten to know the waiters cuz they've worked there for years! The recipies were passed on from the original Italian owners when they sold it to their cook. The food is always top notch! Prices are reasonable. Can't afford an Italian vacation? Take her to Villa Italia. She won't be disappointed!!
The lasagna was savory & the seasoned ground meat, tomato sauce, and Parmesan cheese was fantastic I also included a house salad, which was great with bread.
We really loved this place! You never regret to go there. It was our first experience in there and we'll go again if we go Conroe. All employee was very interested with us and always ask "is everything okey?" Food is delicious and before food they offer salad and delicious bread. We ordered Lasanga and Fettuccine Alfredo. We loved both. Tiramisu was delicious also. The restourant is really nice designed, you may feel in Italia yourself. Thanks for all, Villa Italia!
The MOST delicious Italian food experience in Conroe, TX! If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out! Food, service, and atmosphere 100%✅
You love aesthetic tuscan Italian. This is a hidden treasure. Enjoyed enter meal. From Basil Tomato soup, husband had Cream of Mushroom, to the in house made Tiramisu. So good, had to order the cannoli to go. I order fresh made Crêpe stuffed with ricotta and fresh spinach top with White Cream Sauce. Fresh cup of coffee made it complete meal. This place is a must find. Jonathan our sever said they have been there for 10 years. What!!! Must try.
The food was delicious and well priced, but the reason to come is the atmosphere. I've posted some pictures with the review.. the restaurant feels comfortable and fancy at the same time. They have real flowers at the table even... Great date night location. Try it out!
I was born in Venezuela, where live a big Italian community, there are really good Italians restaurants and also one of my sisters is married with a descendant Italian, my elementary school was found by Italians priests and nuns, so I have a really good experience with the traditional Italian food. Been in Jose’s rest let me to say that since I have moved to Texas I have never tasted a real Italian food as I did in Jose’s Villa Italia Restaurant, please come, visit, expend time with them, enjoy their food and comfortable place that makes you feel like home, my mind go back many years ago and remember all my Italian friends and family cooking, Jose is the best here in Conroe’s area, don’t lose the opportunity to enjoy their flavor, 100% recommend
Villa Italia! Downtown Conroe First visit party of two. 8/10 🌟 I was looking for an intimate classic and quiet place to take my wife for dinner and this place was a home run! Appetizer: Stuffed mushrooms, wonderfully deliscous. Not much else to say but they were great. The premeal salads we're mediocre though. Entrees: I don't honestly remember the name of what I ordered but it was a chicken and shrimp dish with pasta in a creamy sauce. The chicken was only ok, seemed kind of generic. That being said the Shrimp was amazing and the sauce blew me away. I've never had a sauce quite like this. It was sweeter than Alfredo but not to sweet. I loved it. Lasagna is what my wife ordered, it looked very good and I would have tried it but I was pretty entranced with my own dish. Drinks: They serve wine but I wasn't aware of this till well after I ordered. We had water, lemonade and tea. The lemonade wasn't great. Overall: This is a great place if you like small intimate historical venues. This is a one waiter place and you might have a stretch of wait time between ordering or getting your ticket paid. There's also a table situated directly in front of an A/C window unit you may want to avoid. I feel like I'm putting a lot of astericks on a 8 star review, this place is in no way perfect. But I thoroughly enjoyed it.
We went and it was nice. No one was there but it nice actually house that gives a big family vibe. All the food felt lite and refreshing. The Escargot was a bit different but the chicken parmigiana was good. The crepe and bread were really good. I want to come back and try more. Definitely worth checking out if you like find unique local spots.

We love this little charming, romantic house. The food is excellent we love to learn about the passion and history of the chef handed down to him from a little boy. He watched his grandma cook and she gave him the recipes.
Found this quaint little Italian restaurant and was so glad we did! Loved the atmosphere and the food was incredibly fresh and homemade. It was a true pleasure meeting Jose, the owner, who introduced himself and gave us a bit of history on how this restaurant came about and the recipes that were handed down to him. If you're looking for a true Italian scratch kitchen, look no further!
I really enjoyed the food and being gluten-free, this restaurant proved GF pasta. The restaurant is located in an old house so the ambience is vintage and peaceful. The staff was very attentive which is a plus. If you like an intimate setting with good food and service, this is the place to go.
Came here for my birthday dinner this evening. I had the Salmon/Shrimp Pasta Special. It was delicious. The owner came to say hello. The tiramisu was smooth & so good. I wish I had been here before since I spend so much time in Conroe. Definitely coming back!

1st time there, enjoyed it. An old house converted to a restaurant, cozy and eclectic. Started with some herb bread, could have used a little more toast, or some. Had the special, Veal and shrimp in a Brandy cream sauce, Nicely done, shrimp cooked perfectly. The asparagus was a pleasant surprise. The pasta was done properly. The wife had the Salmon and shrimp special in a lemon capers sauce. We had ordered the sauce to be less lemony, but still like all lemon sauces, it was LEMONY. Still the shrimp were cooked perfect and the Salmon was good. Price was as expected and the service, although it seemed inexperienced, was attentive. All in all, give it a try, you may be surprised.
The food was fantastic, from the garlic bread at the start to the main event of Veal. The only downside was that the cheesecake I ordered for dessert was clearly something store bought and topped with Nestlé chocolate syrup. The service was great. While it is a bit weird to have a restaurant in what was once someone's home, it isn't bad, just different. It's definitely worth eating here... but probably skip the dessert.
First, this restaurant is set in a quaint and pretty little house that from the outside seemed like there was no way there was a restaurant inside. Upon entering the staff was incredibly friendly and the decor was both inviting and calming, with a nice low level of soothing Italian music playing. I was instantly reminded of some time I spent in Italy. Upon being seated, the waiter took my order and promptly brought out a decent sized salad and some garlic bread with an amazing side of olive oil with spices mixed into it! I ordered the Penne Fradiavolo, and it was fantastic! Sauce was just the right level of spice, the sausage was fantastic and the seasoning was great! The only issue I had was the mushrooms seemed a little off. After I finished my entree, the waiter brought me a slice of chocolate cake and the check. I was pleasantly surprised as I didn't know the cake was included! All in all the staff, the food and the ambiance were fantastic! I will definitely be back again soon to try some other dishes!!!! :)
The restaurants a little older, but nonetheless, it’s clean and cute. The positive dish was good, but the salad was a little disappointing. They had ran out of dessert that I wanted to try but the cake that I got was good..
This is an older home transitioned into an Italian restaurant and... it works! It was, to us, a little charming and quiet (our favorite characteristic of a restaurant, outside of the food). The service was good and the food was delicious. Remarkably, this all came at a very reasonable price. We definitely recommend Villa Italia and we'll be back!
First time visiting this establishment. It has a very cozy environment. The waiter was very friendly. I ordered tue Spaghettie and Mestballs, which were very tasty. This dish came with a salad which only a couple of carrot shavings, lettus and a half slice of tomato. No choice in the dressings. The salad dressing appeared to be ranch but had no taste whatsoever. It's as if it taste like water. I was also given an order of Garlic Bread which was very tasty. Overall the meal was good, and the prices were decent. The waitress brought out a price of strawberry flavored cake which was delicious and on the house.

Sorry guys, for a restaurant that only has two tables occupied the service was exceptionally slow. I've never had stuffed mushrooms in marinara sauce, not my fave. 15.00 for one glass of wine? There are better Italian restaurants in the Conroe area...
Excellent service and freshly made food. Unfortunately my raviolis with marinara sauce were rather salty. The garlic bread was made of French rolls. I asked for a Caesar salad and was told a house salad was included with the dinner so I decided that would be fine. When my husband decided to get the Caesar I changed my mind and chose to pay the $4.50. My Caesar salad was made from iceberg lettuce and mixed greens; no Romaine. Again, friendly service and a cute environment, but mediocre food.
I will begin with my review by quoting my wife "well at least it was hot.". I had the Fettuccine Alfredo which was ok, it needed more parmesan. This is also the first time I had a Caesar salad made with iceburg lettuce and a little baby spinach, it was.... interesting. The garlic bread was cut up french rolls that could have been much better. I always hope for good artisan bread at Italian restaurants.

Why a 2? Because the food is all that really matters and nothing about the food is "authentic" Italian. sauce was watery. I make better bollognese at home and I am not Italian. salad was simple and no choice of dressing was offered. ugly fish tanks in the hall.
Ordered steak medium rare plus. It came out so well done we couldn’t cut it with the butter knife provided. The “side of pasta” was swimming in whatever remnants the steak left with a little olive oil. The bread was old and obviously reheated and the olive oil plate was NOT olive oil. No sides offered. Salad was iceberg with a few sprigs of spinach. Maybe three sprigs. Our caprese salad was ok, but two small basil leaves. Maybe we should have had pasta? Wish I could give more than 2 stars but the service was good so it substantiates my review. One and done. Oh, and there’s a snapper turtle in a 5 gallon tank that needs to be returned to the wild.
Nice style inside. But food was watered down. No wine list. Almost no customers on a Saturday night.
Valentines dinner the food was tasty (once we actually got what we ordered) .....my wife said the salmon tasted funny. Overall the bad review and no tip came from the really poor service. With 4 items on the menu you think it would have been easy to get the right food to the right ppl....they even got our deserts to go wrong. My first and last time here... 35 dollars a plate. Bill came to $82.00 dollars for 2 ppl with tea and soda.
