I had lunch here during the promotional Newport Beach restaurant week. The tacos were great and the chocolate souffle was delicious.

Wanted some normal food that wasn't catering to the Real Housewives and Influencer culture and this place was where we took a chamce on. The pesto chicken sandwich is portioned for a man and not a waif, my found something she liked as well. The atmosphere is laid back and not pretentious like most other places in Corona Del Mar. Highly recommend if your hungry and eat like a normal person.

We found this cozy beach cottage restaurant on our way to Newport Beach. It was a great lunch of tacos and sandwiches. Delicious and hearty. Fast friendly service. Nice short stop for lunch. We will go there again.

Outstanding. We knew zero about this place but decided to give it a chance. Service (Superman R, according to our ticket) and food were excellent. We had the dorado fish and chips, calamari, and burgers. All was excellent, especially the calamari, which was very tender. We will be back.

Me and my family were hungry and wanted a place to eat. I saw the place had good food so we agreed to go, our waiter was extremely nice and the food was so good. The place looked pretty nice and felt very homey. They told us they struggling, so for a struggling business it was a pretty good experience. I would definitely come again.

It's a great little beach spot with really good food. I had the pesto chicken sandwich, and it was amazing. They serve it with shoestring fries, which were crispy, salty, and hot. All and all I'll be back again!

My wife and I had a great experience today. The service was great. We ate outside in the front. Wonderful atmosphere. I had the carnitas tacos and they were amazing with the fresh avocado on top. She had the grilled chicken summer salad and ate the whole thing which is rare for my wife but it was just too good.

Small dinner with bar & menu reminiscent of Hawaii. We had fries, chicken & rice, pork taco, and two cocktails. Services was quick and everything taste great. Very reasonable prices. Bathrooms are public washrooms out the back of the building.

You won't find nicer restaurant staff at any other restaurant in the area. The food here was perfectly portioned and very tasty. My daughter had the island fire chicken and loved it. My wife had the chicken sandwich and gobbled it up, so I assume she enjoyed it. I started a plant-based diet so I requested the Summer House Salad without chicken or feta cheese, adding on cilantro; it was perfect! The restaurant is small with limited parking, but we arrived when it wasn't too crowded (7pm on a Monday evening), and managed to score a spot on a neighborhood street. You won't be disappointed with Summer House, we sure weren't.

New Owner, Excellent Food! Although We’ve been here before, I read there was a new owner so we thought we would try it again. The new owner has enhanced the front and rear outdoor eating areas, adding more seating, umbrellas, and comfortable chairs. Our server was friendly, helpful with salad recommendations and attentive. The menu hasn’t changed, and the food was excellent. I chose the Summer Chicken Salad. Lettuce was crisp, chicken strips were served warm on top Accented bye candied pecans and fresh strawberry slices. My husband had a BLT with fries. We will definitely go back again and look forward to seeing what other enhancements are made by the new Owner.

This place is tasty tasty, if your in the area you have to swing by Summer House. 1st time here , the food was delicious and fresh. I'm not a fan of sweet fries but this place really knows how to make them wow, even the Coke tasted like Coke. Abraham knew the menu and what he suggested was great, when you have your staff know the menu Wow. Will definitely come again Thank you for the tasty food and atmosphere

Delicious food, especially the Kung Pao Calamari 🤤😍 everyone was nice & checked on us if everything is ok. Abe gave us an amazing service, keep up the great job!!! Definitely will be coming back to try other food items when in the area next time 🤩

If you love brunch, this is the place to go! They serve brunch until 2pm…I was so excited when I got to this place! The ambience is awesome! The music is on point, they have a nice bar, and food is very good! We went on a Sunday and we had to wait a bit longer than usual but I didn’t mind at all, I was just enjoying the place. Great menu and the prices are the absolute best! I’ll keep coming back, I loved it!! Everyone is super nice and they make you feel welcomed even though they were very busy…this will be my spot in Newport Beach from now on. I ordered the California Omelet and it was absolutely delicious! The person I went with ordered the Philly and he said it was pretty good. We loved this place and we’ll keep coming back ❤️

We usually order for pickup, so it was a nice treat to finally dine-in. We are obsessed with their burgers 🍔, all of them are delicious, and we usually between them to change it up 🤣 My favorite is their brie burger, and my husband's is the cheeseburger.

We popped in for an early lunch, and by the time we had finished, they were packed! The vibe reminds me of how Southern California beach towns used to be. I definitely recommend the Ono salad.

We had a great experience and delicious food! The indoor portion of the restaurant is pretty tight but it has an undeniable beachy charm. Overall a great lunch spot!

Saw good reviews so gave it a try. Server and attendant were kind and friendly. Enjoyed the outside tables. Was surprised how dry the swordfish was in my tacos and I asked them to hold the sauce for the sweet potatoes but they served it anyways.

Saved what was an awful day! After being ignored for many minutes elsewhere stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious, service was quick and the staff was kind. Some of the best mac and cheese I've ever had!! Prices were reasonable, food tasted better than some places that charge twice as much. The space is cute and homey, docking one star because some of the seats need to be reupholstered but everything else was perfect!

I came here with a friend and totally loved it. My burger was really delicious and I took it protein style. My friend had salad with salmon and also loved it. Service was okay but not really impressive.

A nice retreat for satisfying your hunger pangs. Had the BBQ Chicken Salad & it was plenty of BBQ sauced chicken with chopped romaine, red onion, & toasted corn noodles. Staff were attentive & friendly.

We went to visit for Sherman library and Gardens in Newport Beach we were looking at the local restaurant for lunch and we found that one has good reviews and good food so decided to eat there, they have outside dining and parking as well food is really good service was Ok friendly waiters. Disappointing thing is edge of the plate has some black dirty stuff and their coffee cup has lipstick red color so I wiped with paper napkins. They should have cleaned it properly.

The summer house is a general go to for American food. The prices are on the high side for the food you get. We generally go here for a quick meal. The server we got tonight is little hard on hospitality and same experience we had before from him. I think he has been there a while and regulars get better service and not so short with service at there tables from.what we noticed.

Ok food/service/vibe.

The food was delicious but service was poor. I understand we came at a busy time for brunch but it took a long time to take our order and took a longer to receive our drinks. I feel like the problem was how the service was structured with 1 person taking an order, 1 person delivering drinks, and another person bringing out the food. One of the meals was incorrect but besides that the food was really amazing. The waitress recommended the fish tacos over the fish and chips and it was a great choice! I was really happy with the food and my whole group was satisfied with theirs too

I had called on Wednesday and made a reservation given we were a large group and when we showed up, they didn’t have our reservation down but regardless we were sat fairly quickly. Service was super slow as they seem to have 3 front personnel to take care of the whole restaurant and the bar which is understandable but if the place is semi full, be prepared to wait. Given it was Saturday brunch time, they should have another server. We ordered our food and unfortunately it didn’t seem that our server was having a good day as she was restless and not very friendly. We the had to wait a good 40 minutes for our food to arrive and during that time neither our water was refilled nor our coffee. I ordered the carnitas burrito which was very bland and didn’t have any salt and the little salsa that came with it was not spice at all. I had to wait another few minutes to flag another server to get be some hot sauce. My wife ordered the veggie omelette and it was so tiny and the potatoes very so little and bland. The prices are very reasonable and for the location, they can easily add a couple of bucks to the dishes and make the food a bit more plentiful. Not sure of if I come back again which is a pitty as we have been at summer time multiple times in the last 15 years living in Newport.

Sits on a huge pile of rice. Plain, unskilled. Like nobody cares. Ate half. Didn’t request to take home. Nobody asks why. Just another check. Disappointing. My wife’s stuffed chicken breast much better. Fresh tomato soup has a pile of shredded cheese on top, for some reason. Lead guy in house wandering around, kind of checking on things in a torn Pendleton shirt. Why. No real pride here. Won’t be back.

These guys are not ready for prime time. The bartender who is probably the owner of the restaurant has a worse attitude. With 3 people standing at the bar it was too much for him to handle. When asked if I can just sit myself he rudely told shout it out “wait”. Then the food came… (after about 25 min). The coffee was probably made 2 days ago and barely warm. They also had “ran out of spoons”. The food was ok. I’d give it 3 out of 5.

This place used to be one of our favorite places to go but over the last couple years it has gone completely downhill. The food got more expensive with portions so slight it’s shocking. I always get the ahi salad - these days they put a few pieces of the most thinly sliced ahi I have ever seen on greens and charge you $23. To make it worse, we were there for over 2 hours and our server came to our table 4 times. The time in between each visit lasting over 20 minutes, I kid you not. In fact, the only time she came back to the table in a reasonable amount of time was to collect our signed check, one of the biggest no-nos of waitressing! The restaurant wasn’t even busy - at its peak it was at about 15% capacity (or about 5 tables). She would also go to the back and eat food off of trays that the cooks were making, laughing and talking to the staff instead of caring to her tables. One of the worst servers and service I have ever experienced. It’s so unfortunate because we have been coming here for many years but it just is not the same.
