We were so glad to include Oscars in our vacation dining plans. The space is bright and airy with a colorful mural adorning one full wall and bright video boards showing the menu options. There was a line out the door when we arrived but it moved steadily along. The man taking our order was so helpful and patient with our modifications. It took a while for our food to arrive, but it was worth the wait. The grilled fish taco was loaded with delicately seasoned snapper and lots of avocado. The al pastor taco was flavorful, as was the smoked fish taco. Prices were reasonable too. Definitely recommend Oscars.
Amazing, lived up to every hype I had heard about it they were super helpful and recommendations nothing we got was bad and it just was the freshest Seafood I've had in the type of setting
Legendary SD business, the OG spot closed down & this is their new location. Hands down some of the best Baja inspired Mexican cuisine available. They've expanded with other locations in SD County but PB will always be the vibe. Everything on their menu is phenomenal & they changed the hot sauce game in SD for the better. Their tortas are legendary and anything with smoked seafood in it is a no-brainer. New location is bigger and provides more seating--open air design makes the place feel open & fresh. Staff was friendly and the service was great. Parking will always be tough in this part of town but it's well worth the the hassle. Must stop spot whether you're a tourist or a local 🤙🏽 highly recommended!
Great portions. The tortillas are some of best I’ve ever had. Fish stew is chocked full of seafood! Delicious. Fish plate is a very good deal and delectable. The homemade sauces in the small self-help fridge were the best thing going!!
The vibes are high here. Great location near the beach. Came here for sunset happy hour around 4pm. $2.50 fish tacos are massive. Two tacos made me satisfied. They have different sauce options and an ample amount of seating. After dinner, we enjoyed a sunset walk on the beach. 5 stars for happy hour value, taste, and vibes
Oscar bro!!! Always amazing! First time it wasn’t as big but amazing food, second time wow you expand, greater service and clean open space! Great investment great restaurant! I only had Mexican as its the best but no seafood until now I wonder jaja next time Pura vida! RECOMMENDED!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome that immediately set the tone for an amazing dining experience. The energy of the staff was so genuine—it made us feel right at home. The menu is massive (in the best way), packed with so many tempting options that it was almost overwhelming—but the staff was incredibly patient and helpful, walking us through their recommendations without rushing us. That level of service goes a long way. Let’s talk about the tacos—every single one was absolutely delicious. We started with three each, then went back for three more because we just couldn’t get enough. And we were a group of six, so you can imagine the taco feast we had! These tacos are more on the pricey side, about $6 per taco. This spot came highly recommended, and now we know why. Incredible food, top-tier service, and an overall vibe that makes you want to come back again and again. Don’t skip this place—it’s a must-visit!
We ordered the Taco Especial, and it was absolutely delicious! The smoky aroma of the fish and shrimp was mouthwatering, and the octopus taco really stood out — it was incredibly soft and tender. Every bite was packed with flavor. We loved it and will definitely be coming back for more!
Oscars Mexican Seafood is exactly what a San Diego beach day needs. My sister and I swung by, picked up our tacos to-go, and the short stroll back to the sand turned into a feast. The battered fish stayed perfectly crisp, with flaky white fish inside and just the right amount for garnish. The carne asada was tender, fresh-off-griddle, and the al pastor had a sweetness that balanced its spice. Portions were generous, prices fair, and the staff packed everything so well that nothing got soggy on the way. Add in the ocean view and you’ve got a five-star meal you can eat with your toes in the sand. We’ll be back next trip!
They are finally open again. We love the new look and definitely more seating❤️❤️❤️ The food is still great! We seriously go here everytime we go to SD and we always over order coz it's hard to just order a couple. My husband's favorite is the breakfast smoked fish burrito. I looove their surf and turf tacos and ceviche. All these with their special sauces (ask abt them) 👏👏👏 Will definitely come back again!

What I Think Is Great! *Best Tacos I Ever Had! Burrito Amazing. *Great Customer service. *Great Sauces. It was just fantastic! No complaints!
Wow, great fish tacos at great prices. On the beach. Not much more one could ask for ! You can eat in or sit outside. We'll be back.
Delicious food, reasonable prices! Great place and highly recommend! I had fish tacos (one grilled and one fried) and they were great. Hubby had a shrimp and bacon taco that he said was phenomenal!
3.5 stars for the food, bumping it out for the friendly service and great vibes. Ordered 3 tacos (battered fish, surf and turf, and taco especial), a breakfast burrito, large salmon salad, and mixed ceviche. All pretty good if nothing to write home about. Wish the tacos tasted more distinct from another, they all had the same toppings and even a little variation would’ve been nice so it didn’t feel like we were eating the same taco three times. The steak in the surf and turf was really tough, the taco especial was by far the best one, and the battered fish taco was fine. Breakfast burrito had good flavor but was very soggy and disintegrated halfway through, we had to eat the rest with a fork. The salad was good! Very reasonable prices overall.

Food is superb as always. Love the workers. The only problem is the wait can get super long but I'd say it's worth it for the tacos. Went on a Tuesday and it was loud and crowded. Will be back
Quick service. I had the fish tacos, and they were really good, but not amazing. Everyone seemed to like what they got. I would go back again.

Not worth the wait. The food comes out fresh, and it is good, but nothing really special. The battered fish taco was fine, but lacked anything special to it. Really weak flavor profile. The spicy shrimp taco was also fine, but again lacking in anything to make it with a 45 minute wait. Our other tacos, grilled snapper taco and a skirt steak taco, felt ordinary. It is hard to believe that this is one of the best places in San Diego. Again, it was good, but not worth the wait.
The service is great. The wait was long so they brought out complimentary hot fish soup that was really good. The chips and Guac were good, I recommend The ceviche was ok, could probably skip that. Missing salt, flavor. And the tacos (smoked fish and battered fish) were not that good. Missing salt/seasoning. The surf and turf taco was a bit overcooked and chewy, I wouldn’t recommend. But the seafood in general was really fresh.
Oscar’s was just okay for me. I got the fried fish taco and really wanted to love it after hearing great things, but it fell a bit flat. It was more oily than I would’ve liked and lacked a crema or a stronger flavor profile. It wasn’t bad, just underwhelming but for $3.75 I can’t complain. I’d be open to giving it another try and going with the grilled fish next time.
Oscars is a San Diego classic, but I left underwhelmed. The ceviche was rubbery, as if the fish and shrimp had been sitting too long. Some tacos seemed to use homemade tortillas while others felt store-bought, which was inconsistent. My wife found the fried fish taco lacking in flavor compared to spots like El Pueblo. Several non-fish tacos were surprisingly spicy, which made it tough for my kid to enjoy. If you like heat, you may enjoy it here, but I would avoid the ceviche. Not sure I would come back.
Tacos were decent. I wish they came with a little bit of salsa and limes came with the tacos a head of time instead of requesting them. The service we great. The staff are really friendly.
Food is great, but the women bathroom has not had running water for at least 2 months. Staff does not know when it is going to be fixed. Where does the staff wash their hands?
