Opinions de Pacific Bean Coffee San Diego
I had such a wonderful experience at this shop! I was debating my selection and the gentleman (the owner I believe!) took so much time to help me, then offered to level down the sweetness per my request. He proceeded to make me an exquisite drink but unfortunately it was cold and I had asked for warm! I hated even mentioning it! But he happily made me an equally wonderful hot drink, and then offered me the cold one on the house, and then extended it to another customer when I declined which was much appreciated. My drink was perfect sweetness and perfect flavor and even better... I love supporting good people! Thank you!
Amazing coffee and amazing service! We got the almond joy and turtle sundae mocha and loved them, def be back :)
Staff was very friendly and coffee was PHENOMENAL! We like our coffee strong and Pacific Bean delivered! My husband got the mocha and it is truly one of the best if not the best he’s ever had. The barista behind the counter worked with me and created a drink that I really wanted. Prices are affordable, lots of space to sit.
I absolutely love pacific bean! My husband and I make sure we come here a couple of times when we’re in the area. I like the aloha iced with oat milk and he enjoys the funky monkey. Definitely skip Starbucks and come here!
My wife and I stopped in here each morning during our 4-day visit to San Diego and we had a great experience each time. Our favorites were the Aloha, the Peaches n Cream (hot Mocha) and the ice cream which was rich, creamy and fresh. The Milky Way was a bit too sweet for my tastes but the staff was really helpful in helping me choose something more appropriate the second time. We will definitely be stopping by whenever we are in the area again.
Exceptional latte, reasonable price (nice cup) and a large outdoor seating area to people watch. Barista was friendly and helpful and there's lots of options to choose but not so much that you feel overwhelmed. Clean with just a hint of funky atmosphere. What's not to like.
Can confirm, best mocha I’ve ever had. Nutty Buddy was the way I went. Super yummy. Perfect iced dessert drink for the beach.
This place is amazing. I have been coming here for about 5 years. The coffee is great, the owner is super nice, and I stand by the opinion that this is the best coffee shop in PB. When I leave San Diego my walks to Pacific Bean are one of the main things I miss.
You see the sign that says "America's best mocha" and think hmm. But honestly it lived up to expectations for me, one of the best mochas I've ever had. Jerome was super nice and so was the man that worked on Saturday. I've been back every day on vacation.
My daughter dropped me off at Pacific Beach prior to my flight home, while she ran some errands. I wanted to sit and enjoy a coffee while reading my book so I walked along Garnet Ave until I came across Pacific Bean Cafe. So glad that I stopped. The staff were friendly and shared tips on where to sit along the beach. The customers were friendly as well and willing to chat about books and adventures. The coffee and treats were delicious and at a good price. I highly recommend stopping in for a coffee and/or treat. I actually stopped before and after I went for a stroll on the beach. Enjoy!
Went for coffee and pastry for the first time. I love this place! Excellent Americano, delicious pastry. Lovely owner. My new “go to”. There are tables outside, but I took mine around the corner to sit on a bench and watch the ocean! Perfect.
Really great coffee. My husband just had a regular drip coffee that he said was good and strong. I had a wonderful mocha. They have a very large menu of different mochas that sounded really good. Will definitely be back to try a different one from the menu
I absolutely love this place! From the moment I walked in, the cozy ambiance and friendly staff set the tone for a perfect coffee break. The baristas genuinely care and suggest the best coffee. The coffee is outstanding: rich, smooth, and always brewed to perfection. I also tried one of their pastries, and it paired beautifully with my cup. The space is inviting with comfortable seating, great lighting, and a relaxing vibe — ideal for chatting or catching up on work. Clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully decorated. If you’re in the area and craving a top-notch coffee experience, Pacific Bean Coffee should be your go-to. Highly recommended!
Great boba tea, coffee and homemade fresh ice cream with a Turkish touch. We received great service. Very affordable price as well. The owner loves what he does. Highly recommended.
I first discovered Pacific Bean when my daughter was just a baby and I would always get a latte and go on a walk by the beach. My daughter is 10 now I don’t live in the area anymore but I still do go there from time to time and 10 years later their coffee is still delicious.
We stayed nearby and this became my favorite coffee spot. The mochas are really, really good. Rich and silky with great flavors. We also came back for a smoothie (decent) and a Thai tea with boba (not too sweet, enjoyed it a lot). There are a couple of tables outside if you want to take a load off.
Coffee was so good. The actual expresso is not acidic like many american coffees. I even really enjoyed the Turkish coffee. The breakfast is so good too! Great service and food. The only recommendation is to get AC inside because it’s hot and uncomfortable to eat inside. Thanks guys !!
This spot is run by ‘real’ coffee people and they are really nice! Tucked away spot just off boardwalk on Pacific Beach. It’s small but homey and comfortable. Inside and outside seating. Primarily serves coffee, espresso drinks and teas but they do have a couple pastry / croissants. Nice place to grab a cup and go or sit in comfy couch and read magazine, paper or play games.
This place is a gem for coffee lovers. It’s Turkish and their roasts are better than any famous coffee chains. The barista is awesome with good recommendations for your coffee mood hot or cold. They also have fine organic Turkish ice creams and some cakes to go with your coffee. Go for it!
So many coffee options that are delicious. Staff is helpful and nice. Great spot to get coffee close to the beach. They also have pastries, boba, teas, and ice cream. Lots to choose from. Everyone I. The family will be able to get something they like. Great secretion of outdoor seating as well.
PROs: Jerome was friendly and kind. The caramel pastry was good. The Matcha coffee was ok. Matcha is bitter. Jerome offered sweetener at no charge. Jerome is down to earth and transparent person. It was a blessing to share life changes during our convo. CONs: Non pay parking is a challenge. Small outdoor seating area.
Great little coffee bar place with speciality Turkish coffee and homemade Turkish ice cream. The decaf Americano (iced and hot) was delicious and not weak. And the new owner is lovely and charming. Highly recommend.
Our friend found this place last time we we're in California, July 17th, and it's the best! The lady who helped us was so knowledgeable and helped us find the best drinks. I got their Milk Thai tea drink which was fantastic. Perfect blend of sweet and that great Thai tea flavor. I also got Boba in mine which made it even better. My fiancé who isn't a big Boba or coffee or milk tea fan tried the Hale's mango sunset and he loved it. Very fresh and refreshing flavors. Perfect for someone who just wants to try the place out. Our friend both days came in and asked for a good espresso coffee mix and he loved it so much the first day we had to some with and try it for ourselves. We loved and next time we are in the pacific beach San Diego area we will definitely come back to this place! Come try it out I highly recommend it!
Awesome small coffee shop, great for studying and talking with locals as well as tourists. Fell in love with their mocha and hopefully will go back before I leave. Served by Tyler and he made me some of the best mocha I've ever had.
Yesterday was my 2nd time there. The first time we tried coffee and smoothie which were good. This time they had Turkish ice cream (last time they were out). We have tried and it is perfect. It is the closest one real Turkish ice cream you can find in San Diego. The flavors are real and tasty. Parking is problem as the shop is close to the beach. Will visit again!
This place was splendid 😍 A must see if your in the area, the owners are amazing◡̈
Good coffee selections, I loved the avocado toast and velvet cheese Cake we had. And I got nice beach cover that they bring from Turkey, it’s fine Turkish cotton.

First time walked in this morning, amazing mocha with dozens of flavors. It was the best mocha I’ve ever tasted so far. Owner is very friendly.
I only got an iced coffee and it was very good. My whole family loved it too. And the worker was so kind. He made my morning!
I got the funky monkey and it was one of the best coffees I’ve had. Also tried the Nutty Buddy and Coconut which were delicious. So many flavors to choose from!! And the barista was nice and recommended his favorites when we were overwhelmed with the options.

there was no one at the counter when i got there. Turns out the barista had to move his car. When he got there he asked me what i wanted to order. It was hot so all i really wanted was an iced black coffee. He was more than happy to make me one and even suggested to add a shot of espresso if i wanted it stronger. I just added sugarfree hazelnut syrup instead. Coffee tasted smooth and refreshing. Just what i wanted. He even gave it to me on the house for waiting patiently. I still would have paid and sId the same thing regardless. This is not a biased opinion. Great coffee in PB.
I love mochas and had to check out the place promoting itself as the Best Mocha in America. Unfortunately, I don’t notice all of the mocha flavors until after I had ordered my mocha. So I only got a regular mocha. It was fine, nothing special. Although I could see how the different flavors would make it great. Good service.
Very friendly service and kind staff. I ordered an iced matcha but it tasted quite watery. I saw that the Matcha was premade in a jug and diluted before being added to the milk. Preparing matcha fresh could really improve the flavor and quality. The café itself is nice, although a bit of music could help create a more lively atmosphere. With a few small adjustments, it could be a great spot!

One of the worst Lattes I have ever had. Tasted like they brew over the previous espresso shot. If you want a real espresso drink go up street. You will pay more but it is worth it. Their treats looked like they were from Costco. The reviews are not that bad so I don’t get it but no matter how convenient it is to the beach, we will not be going back.
