Great food. Loved it there. Stuffed shrimp fried. With cauliflower au gratin Large party. Little slow service but sweet. They loved the steaks and chicken fried with yellow gravy. It’s extra thick.

Always great food. Nice place for business lunches, family and friends gatherings. Service is hit and miss ,depending on waiter. Most are good but a few seem to be not into customer service.

The salad (to which I added bacon and cheese) was fresh and crisp and the raspberry vinaigrette was a perfect match. The filet mignon was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I got a child's spaghetti with meat sauce just because and that was great after adding a bit of parmesan and red pepper flakes. We had an awesome waitress and a lovely time. Thanks 😊!

The liver and onions were great as always. Service was awesome. We arrived later in the evening and they were out of mashed potatoes.

U & I has the best steak in town!! Trust me!! Ask for the bone in ribeye. The flavor and quality of the steak is excellent. Also, we had the U & I burger, which is flame grilled and comes with bacon. This is our go-to place when we have family in town. Everyone we have brought there was amazed by the food.

The staff were great. Tim was our waiter and he seemed so knowledgeable about the entire menu, restaurants history and was completely engaged the entire time to ensure we were satisfied. Honestly, I could not believe the quality of food. Totally unexpected and especially for the price range. the blue cheese steak was absolutely phenomenal. Probably one of the best I’ve ever had and that’s in comparison to the 300 and $500 restaurants. the bread was exceptional the salad and the salad dressing of blue cheese was again one of the best I’ve ever tasted. and then if that’s not enough, the poor dessert. The cheesecake made in house with the raspberry sauce, was an absolute delight. Will definitely recommend my family and friends try this place out

Excellent service every time we are here. This is a very busy restaurant but they are fast and attentive. Food is well prepared and with a vast menu there is something for everyone. Home cooked flavor with the speed of a well ran restaurant. Most definitely a restaurant that doesn’t disappoint. Worth a try while in Corpus.

Great place to eat. Very large portions. The broiled flounder is very good. And also the alfredo and shrimp pasta. Server was very attentive and friendly.

Had dinner with my family two nights in a row because we love it the first night. The fish/seafood was delicious, the Italian food and steak were also very delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant! It has Mexican, Italian, Seafood, and Steaks. Awesome 👏🏼 the only sad part is that they didn’t have raw oysters 🦪 which I love

Great place. We stumbled upon it after our family visited the Aquarium. The calamari came it large rings which usually scares me but it was really tender. From there I had a hamburger which was amazing. The bune was a little sweet and the meat was not over bearing. The special was also well worth the value. The wife got crab cakes which was mainly crab and not filler. Finally, the staff was great. We have three small kids which can lead to interesting times. They hosted us well and made sure we had everything we needed.

Me and my bestie arrived and got sat a couple minutes after. Our server was friendly and sweet. We ordered the egg rolls, which were mid but it’s ok. The entrees were the redeeming qualities of the place. I had ordered the filet mignon with the lobster tail and both of them were packed with flavor. I never had lobster before and I was pleasantly impressed. My friend got the ribs and they were quite honestly some of the best I have had. They fell off the bone and were coated in this delicious bbq sauce. I would come here again and try a different appetizer.

While vacationing in Rockport, TX. We highly recommend the U & I Restaurant. It has a wonderful atmosphere and awesome food.

Visited 4 times in 2 months. Had various meals for lunch and dinner. All were great , especially the Itallian Wedding Soup. Service could be better - 3 out of the 4 visited times I had to remind Servers of items that should have arrived but did not, when asked, "is everything ok?"

We always come to U&I when we’re in town. Oysters on the half shell and calamari were fresh! Brandon, our server offered stellar service and was very personable and made our experience even better. We finished dinner off with cheesecake which was delicious.

The brewery next door recommended this restaurant for a nice dinner with my mother. We came in and immediately greeted and sat down. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I had the u and I burger with a side of grilled jalapeños. My mother had the chicken fried steak. Both were piping hot, delicious and filling. Honestly, Probably one of the best dinning experiences we've had.

The food was really good. Host was nice. But tell me why I asked my server for extra cheese on something and she goes “there’s plenty already”. Ummm that’s what I asked for why not just give it to me lol like it’s so hard to put in the pos extra cheese and up charge?? No it’s not don’t be Sloppy. I received the food that has “plenty of cheese” and was disappointed cause there was not. 😂😂😂😂

Exceptional service from our waitress. She was helpful and friendly. Our food was good, but my MIL didn't like the fried seafood. She didn't mention why, but she decided she was not going to eat it. I had the prime rib. I enjoyed it and it came with soup, salad, and peas. We enjoyed our lunch and will come back.

The menu at U&I has something for just about anybody. I'm always on the search for a good entrée with chicken or turkey. I've been to this restaurant a couple of times prior to this visit, but I didn't get a chance to get pictures of the food. Today, however, I ordered the chicken-fried-chicken with mashed potatoes and fried corn nuggets. That chicken was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. Our group had lunch during the very busy lunch rush on a Tuesday. The server was very attentive and professional. He kept up with our beverage refills and made sure we were pleased with the food and service. Yes, the price is a bit higher than going to some random fast-food joint. However, you're getting chef prepared meals made with quality ingredients. With this being my third visit, I can officially state that this is one of my favorite restaurants for high-quality food and excellent service. This hidden gem is off the main shoreline. I stubbled onto it and it did not disappoint. All the dishes I ate over 4days were all great. I had an amazing server named Angie. She was amazing and had an amazing aura about her and the way she carried herself! Next time I am in the areas I’m sure I’ll be stopping here again. I’ll post a few of my dishes.

My wife and I absolutely loved this place. It does get busy but for a party of 3 you get seated fairly quickly. I got the seafood platter and she got the 8oz New York Strip and she said it even beats Texas Roadhouse since its seasoned way better and its very fresh. The fish I received tasted so fresh I felt like they sent a fisherman out to catch my fish while I waited, it was so good and flaky 😋 U & I keep doing what you are doing everything is delicious...

Best food ever, Coconut shrimp were awesome and the fried mushrooms are incredible,. Stella is the sweetest best server and seems like a family member. Would highly recommend and look forward to my next visit.

A great place to grab a great plate for dinner. I had fried oysters with a baked potato and the vegetable of the day. The oysters were large and fried great, fresh and not chewy!The peas and carrots were a tad undercooked and flavored with Italian seasoning which didn’t go well with my oysters. My daughter had blackened red snapper with pilaf and side salad. The fish was delicious seasoned and cooked perfectly, not overcooked which causes dryness. Pilaf was fluffy and well seasoned. If I would change anything, I would reevaluate picking the “soup of the day” and “vegetable of the day”.

The food was cooked exactly as we wanted and expected, perfect. We showed up 20 minutes till closing, not o purpose, and instead of brushing us off, the staff was welcoming. Customer service above expectations. Thank you, U&I staff, for making us feel at home in our hometown, Corpus Christi!

Came for our anniversary and place is packed but was quick to get off the wait Angie was very attentive and the filet was full of flavor. Will be returning when I’m back in town.

Busy as all get out but still great service from Courtney who was calm and collective. The 16oz Ribeye cooked Medium was perfectly marbled. Would highly recommend and will revisit soon!

I ordered fisherman's platter I think its ok. If you like cheese you will love it. I don't like cheese so much. Steak, fish, coconut shrimp are great. I highly recommend coconut shrimp.

We came here from San Antonio for the day. After looking at several restaurants reviews we came here with our 3 young kids. It didn't disappoint. The manager didn't seem the friendliest but the rest of the service was phenomenal. We ordered the sampler plate appetizer and it was delicious, their mozzarella sticks were sooo good. I really wanted to try their bread that I had seen in other reviews but our waiter said they were very overcooked and the next batch wasn't ready before we left. My husband and I both got the ribeyes and they were soooo good. Our kids also enjoyed their steak as well. Next time we're in town we'd definitely come here again. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

This is a hidden gem of a steak house and food. The food was amazing and service was excellent. If you are looking for a steak this is the place to go. The Mesquite grilling creates a wonderful flavor.

We were in town for an event and one of our party members recommended this restaurant. We were seated immediately after walking in. Our table of 8 was greeted by Jennifer, our waitress, quickly afterwards. Jennifer did an AMAZING job with prompt service, keeping all of our glasses filled and bringing out our salads and meals in a timely manner. Meals were a huge hit by our team, some photos are post grub… don’t judge, we were hungry. 😄 Definitely recommended!!

Our group of 25 had quite a day planned, though it didn’t start the way we expected. The day before, Ol’ Steakhouse told us they “don’t take reservations” and to just come in. When we arrived, they refused to seat us because our group was “too big.” Their loss—about $650 worth, to be exact. In hindsight, they actually did us a favor. We drove over to U&I Restaurant, hoping for the best—and they blew us away. Despite walking in with a party of 25 during a busy lunch hour, U&I seated us within five minutes. No drama. No eye-rolling. Just warm hospitality and a “we’ve got you” attitude that immediately set the tone for the meal. Service was exceptional across the board. Drinks came out quickly, orders were taken smoothly, and our server handled a table of 22 with the kind of efficiency and friendliness you rarely see. Everyone at our table ordered something different, and every single plate was a hit. I went with my longtime favorite: the pork chops. U&I delivered two large, perfectly grilled chops—juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly right. Easily some of the best I’ve had. My only regret was forgetting to take a picture to post with the review. From start to finish, U&I turned what could’ve been a ruined lunch celebration into a fantastic dining experience. We left full, happy, and grateful we ended up there instead. A big shoutout to our waitress, Red- you handled our table like a champ. We appreciate you! Thank you, U&I. We will absolutely be back.

My fiancé and I went to dine here before a concert and overall, the experience was great. While we didn't make a reservation on a busy night (Memorial Weekend), we had to wait a bit before we had a table. Since there were large parties that night, it made sense that the place was packed. The food was delicious. We ordered: one crab cake, ate our side salads, then had our entrees. I chose a red snapper or some kind (I don't remember) and he had a steak. Prices were a little bit higher but that's to be expected for dinner items. Service was great, we had a waiter that was clearly "in the weeds" along with his coworkers (it looked understaffed and a bit chaotic with the large parties) but since we've served before, we didn't mind waiting. He even gave us recommendations for other places to try during our visit to CC. Great place to eat so make sure to get a reservation beforehand.

This was our 1st time eating here and let me just say, 5 stars is not enough. The food selection is fantastic along with the prices. The chocolate cake Dessert was one of the best ones I've ever had so far. Tyler was our waiter and we will definitely request him next time we go. If you want great service ask for Tyler.

This place is a hidden gem. Upon arrival, it doesnt look fancy. Inside is very unassuming, but the food is absolutely top notch. We started with the Cordon Bleu bites. The outside was the right crunch with a wonderfully melty cheese, ham and wrapped in the chicken. The Chicken and Orzo soup was different, but very flavorful. Then came the main course. Probably one of the best steaks I've ever had. I ordered the Beef and Reef( NY strip- Med Rare and Maryland Crab cake). The steak was cooked perfect, had absolutely amazing flavor and melted in my mouth. Our service was top notch, making sure our drinks were always filled and our empty plates were gone as soon as we were done. I definitely would recommend this place.

Go here not bad on pricing either 20 bucks for a burger. In this economy yes ill take it. It felt very cozy like you're in your grandmother's home. Quiet even on there busy day. Shout out to Bianca they served me with amazing manners and always had a smile on there face. When they came up to me. If you go here as for them . Order the burger and enjoy the inside. It was a perfect restaurant to finish off my vacation in Corpus. Would come back 🙂

This is one of our favorite places to eat when we visit Corpus Christi Texas. Today we ordered off the regular menu (not lunch or breakfast) so the price was a little on the high side but the food was great! The wife and I shared some fried shrimp and Maryland crab cakes which were both delicious! We had the best waitress, Elaine I believe was her name, and she was from Greece which made her personality perfect for the occasion. The restaurant itself isn't fancy but it is clean and tidy with nice restrooms and easy parking. I strongly recommend eating at this establishment and enjoying some great cooking!

I’ve heard of this establishment over the years from my boss & friends! It’s always been nothing but great things! I went for the first time a few weeks back with my lovely date & the food was so delicious, I am not even exaggerating! If I had to choose which was the best between the attentiveness of our server or the food, that would be one tough choice to make; I’d give both a solid 10, especially for how late & busy it was! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who lives in or visits Corpus, you will not be disappointed!! 10/10

We tried this place tonight, as a coworker was really talking up the crab cakes. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. Everything was very good! I don't think I could order something else from there, as much as I'd love to try their other dishes. Those were by far the best crab cakes I've ever had. My husband tried the coconut shrimp, which was delicious. It had a very different marmalade sauce with a bit of a kick. Overall, the food was insanely good. And we had one of the best waiters that I've experienced. He was very attentive but not overbearing. And he seemed like he genuinely cared about providing the amazing experience that we had. We will definitely be back soon!

Enjoyable experience. Our waiter David was great! My steak was cooked just like I like it and full of flavor, the cream of mushroom soup was terrific, and the fries were good. The food was good. The definitely had a variety and huge selection of food on the menu. We arrived a little after 11 am; boy did the restaurant fill up fast! It's a busy place, that's for sure. My husband had a steak which is what they are known for. I had a chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes. We did get fried pickles as an appetizer. These people are not chinchy when it comes to giving you ranch dressing. I like that I didn't have to call our waitress over to ask for more.

The service was very good , we never had a dirty dish on table and water glass stayed full. I did think the food was a little slow getting to us , especially since it was not crowded. I had a side salad , had to pick out some rusty lettuce , but the blue cheese dressing was good. There was a breast, two legs and two thigs. The chicken was cooked to juicy perfection however, it was too oily and the batter just fell off. The stuffed flounder was cooked well and flaky. It went really well with the crab stuffing and tasted delicious. The captains platter was this assortment of fried goods. There was fried scallops, shrimp and flounder. The breadcrumb coating was crunchy and not too oily. Everything was cooked very well and tasted really good. For dessert we took the cheesecake and it tasted great. It was very creamy and cooked perfectly well. The base was slightly crunchy and went really well with the 'cake.'

There was a 30 minute wait but it moved relatively quickly (you could enjoy an adult bev. from the bar while you waited).Our server Connor was excellent even while covering a lot of tables simultaneously so kudos to him because we never felt neglected. Another person in our party ordered veal Parmigiano & the veal was overcooked but the pasta portion was great. oh & if you order asparagus just know its not spears & resembles chopped green beans. We had a Paloma & rock Lobster for drinks (weren't fans of either).Loved that the got the whole restaurant involved to celebrate patrons birthdays. all in all we'd definitely eat here again.

My server was very sweet and the whole restaurant looked very clean. They had large parties inside and all the staff member were working together to take care of everyone. I love the creamy spinach dip I added some pickled jalapeños on the side to give it some spice! Next, I ordered the steak and quail with a Caesar side salad and a loaded baked potato. I also added some provolone cheese to my quail don’t judge me, but it’s so good!!! The steak was good, but there was a certain type of seasoning on it that made it a bit salty but still very delicious and he quail was cooked beautifully!

Very busy at 1 PM, so we waited a half hour for our order. The food was worth the wait, the broiled Red Snapper filet was flaky, fresh and cooked right. Good reviews on the Fisherman's Platter and the Catfish with Shrimp. Fries were good. Food would have got 5 stars if the Fried Okra had been fresh and hot. Service was good, not overly attentive. Restaurant seems clean and well kept.

We were recommended to this place during Spring Break, so we thought, why not?😁 And, of course, it was packed with a wait time! But it was well worth it!😄 The food was scrumptious especially their rolls - soft buttery texture that melts in your mouth!🤩 Although there was a hiccup with one of our drinks- other than that, it was a great dining experience!😄 Also kudos to the server ( my apologies I forgot her name) but she was so attentive despite it being packed!😃

Overall, I had a very positive experience at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly. I unknowingly showed up near closing time, only to realize this after I ordered. The waiter did not say anything, and after I realized this, I was told to take my time with my meal and that there was no hurry. They were cleaning up around the restaurant while I ate, but I never felt hurried by them - class act by the staff! I wasn't in the mood for a steak so I got Mexican food, and it was very good (though not the best I've ever had), especially considering this was a steak house. I wish I could do fractional stars as I would have rated 4.5.

Straight forward opinion: it's very average food for a high price. According to other reviews maybe the new owners aren't as good. I was here on a busy Wednesday night. Chicken Fried Steak ? is cooked with a type of ground beef that stays red even after cooking. Apparently this is supposed to happen, but let me tell you, it still tastes weird and chewy, like gum. Coconut shrimp was great, but it tastes exactly like the bulk wholesale frozen coconut shrimp they sell directly to restaurants so it's nothing to write home about. Island Cocktail was insanely watered down even for restaurants like this. No butter given for rolls. Rice pilaf was warm but mixed with 50% fridge temp bits...maybe from the day before? **TLDR you can skip this one**

the food was good! loved the caesar salad and they took care of my boyfriend who has a shellfish allergy. sadly there was a roach on the wall so that was a immediately turn off for me. it took a while for staff to notice it also and then they killed it. idk what happened after that. but our waiter was good so i was happy about that.

Decided to stop in on 4th of July. Place was completely packed we were a party of 3 and luckily we were seated quickly. Made it to our table to be greeted by Sandra our waitress who was very nice. We ordered Southwest Eggrolls which were good and drinks from the bar. Super quick and very good watched bartender just slinging drinks by himself and waiting on people getting up from there table because there waiters or waitress couldn't keep up. Then we ordered Ribeyes and Potatoes which were seasoned well and cooked the way we ordered. Food wasn't amazing but was good as well as service. Menu is to large they literally have a section from ever Cuisine. Which is great if you have many people that can not decide on what they want. So makes it hard to decide what there specialty is. Otherwise good restaurant.

The first thing I ordered was the oysters and when I received them I was pretty disappointed. Right off the bat they were fishy smelling and looked rough. The second thing I ordered was the Gyro sandwich. Wasn’t as disappointed with the Gyro than I was with the oysters only because the Gyro came with a lot of lamb meat. Overall it was just okay and if I were to come back I definitely won’t order the oysters again.

Jan 2025 Review-2 stars: I don’t know what happened but the food was way off today. So much that we won’t be back for awhile. We ordered mahi mahi and red snapper, don’t recommend either. The bacon wrapped quail we had 3 months ago the waitress said she’s never heard of it. The baked potatoes were ordered loaded but came without butter (only cheese and bacon) and the waitress claims that’s how they’re always served. I’ve never had a baked potato served without butter here or anywhere else. And at the table there’s only margarine available… real butter for our potatoes would be an additional $1. But they charged and extra $1 for making it loaded already!! Seriously??? Definitely trying to nickel and dime us. (see receipt attached). The best dish tonight was the chicken alfredo. We frequent here when in town but we won’t be back for awhile. Overall summary, disappointing food and service. Oct 2024 Review-5 stars: The steaks are amazing here! My favorite is the ribeye. We tried some add ons: the grilled shrimp and bacon wrapped quail - the quail was delicious… definitely get that again. Sides: we like the baked potatoes and salad. Kids like the fries.

My first time there, I liked the inside of the Restaurant and the atmosphere very cozy.. The food was okay, the rolls were cold and the food was not that great, the fries were not that good, my chicken fried steak was small not a big portion I had better and bigger for less..Second time eating here it was okay very small portions for the price it's expensive!.... They got some delicious desserts and our waitress was very attentive. I want to thank Sandy😊 that was very nice of you..thank you so much❤

I was really disappointed. I had been looking forward to some good, fresh seafood. The calamari was almost too rubbery to chew. I ordered the stuffed flounder. It came out swimming in oil not like a garlic, lemon, wine sauce would. I couldn’t even finish it. My husband said his crab cakes were good but not worth the price. Notice the canned mixed veggies he was served. This meal cost us almost $100. Not worth it at all.

To be fair, we were a party of 22 and our server also had other tables to manage, but... The server gave the wrong food to 3 different people, and then blamed them for taking the wrong plate. The server should know who ordered what. The manager asked about it, and then confronted our server, who then chased me down on our way out of the restaurant. Very unprofessional and will not be back.

The fact that this place has four stars actually is mind boggling. The service SUCKED. We sat down and immediately the server was pressuring us to get ready to order. We ordered lemon drop martinis and they came HALF FULL and tasted like simple syrup in a cup. We sent them back and switched for a margarita that also just tasted like liquidy salt in a cup. Our sever was sneezing and coughing the few times she did speak to us. She was being very rude until we started sending our drinks back and the manager got involved and then it was a complete 180 and all of a sudden she was very nice. It took incredibly long for us to get bread and I think if we had not sent our drinks back we just weren’t going to get any. The only reason this isn’t a one star was because the food was actually decent and the manager was helpful.

Skip it - if you want a place that takes pride in their work, look elsewhere. I ordered the surf & turf which doesnt have a price listed it says MKT price...so I asked, what type of lobster & what cut of meat is it. The menu specifies its a filet cut & only says lobster tail. But the photo shows a main lobster tail. So, I decided to ask about the specifics. "What type of lobster is served for the surf portion of the 'surf/turf'? I'm hoping its main lobster because I hate Rock lobster & if its going to be a rock lobster I'll just order something else." The server was great & said "You know, nobody has ever asked that before, let me go ask the kitchen..." she returned moments later with a giddy smille & said "guess whaaat?? Its main lobster!" I was delighted & asked for it to be broiled/steamed not grilled. She asked me how I would like my steak & I said medium well. When the food arrived I was on the phone & wasnt really paying attention, she set the food down & walked away. I hung up the phone & saw a rocklobster tail & a burnt filet. I mentioned my dissapountment to the server, but decided to just eat it & move on. Ill never come back here again & you shouldnt either. Not because of one experience, but because of what followed. After telling the server she said "Im so sorry, let me go tell my boss." The boss never came to my table, didnt acknowledge the issue & just hid out. I have money, what I dint have is time to waste at establishments who feel mediocrity is ok & ripping people off. My waitress returned saying she told them "why did you guys tell me it was main lobster? I told this man you guys said it was main lobster." Apparently they had told her "well how are we supposed to know, they send us whatever & we just serve it." 🤯😵 There was no offer to recook the steak or the option to order something else & there was a complete lack of awareness by the restaurant management. I still tipped my waitress 20% because its not her fault the people she works for are completely incompitent. Run as fast as you can away from this place!

Food was terrible. Manager Benjamin was even worse. Expressed my final issue after countless issues and he still tried to charge me for something I didnt recieve. A margarita should have tequila not just strawberry puree. Will not be returning.

Joined a family gathering for a passing of a friend who passed away ordered my daughter a chicken Alfredo with special request for crispy chicken and when the food came out with grilled chicken kindly asked for crispy chicken and the server got irritated grabbing the plate out of my hand then brought it back appx 8 minutes later all the while my daughters extra side of frys got cold so she didn’t get to eat them all when bill came I asked if my cold frys could be removed since they were cold and we didn’t eat them and the manager came out rude also telling me he wasn’t taking them off as if I’m here trying to get a free 2$ fry lol. Definitely won’t be back. I’ll take My money elsewhere . And as far as the server BINX next time try to be nice to your tables that’s how your getting a paycheck and specially w a party that’s gratuity I may have tipped you on top Of your grat!
