The food was crisp, fresh, and very flavourful. The wings were delightfully crunchy and smothered in sauce. The medium portion was very large and was more than enough for two. The potstickers were so juicy. The restaurant had plenty of free seating. Both booths and chairs to choose from. The server was very attentive. The music was loud.

Cater wings for my company every month and this is our go to spot. Even delivered wings stay Crispy we love it and def will be coming back. First time we ordered the spicy was not spicy at all and 2nd time we requested to make sure it’s spicy and def the 2nd time around that spicy ness was there

The people who work here are very nice. They are very attentive. As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted. They ask you if you would like to dine in or order to go and help you right away. I have eaten here with my mother twice. We had to order the Bulgogi tacos again because they are delicious! The rib eye is cooked to perfection! We had the parmesan fries the first time and they were good. We decided to try the Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice this time. We did not it was going to be spicy so be prepared but it was still good.

The chicken was fresh, perfectly crispy, and packed with flavor. We also tried the bulgogi fried rice and Takoyaki, which were a delicious and satisfying addition to the meal.

I'm always looking for a unique wings place! The wings were great and flavorful. What makes wings is originality in wings sauce. Yes, there's was unique and spicy!! And give the pickled radish a shot👍👍

Wings! Best wings in Orange County! The spicy wings are only mild spice, but their flavor is amazing! The spicy wings have a nicer flavor than the soy wings. The secret to the wings is that they're double fried with a light crispy coating. The drumsticks are also nice and tender, but I prefer the wings. The sushi salmon ball is good. It's cooked salmon on the outside, and the inside is a mixture of crab, avocado, cucumber, mayo.

Gave this place a try for lunch the other day. I was craving really good chicken wings. I wasn't disappointed. I went with the Half & Half - half Korean BBQ & half Soy Garlic. Both flavors were good. I liked the Soy Garlic the most. A side of pickled radish came with it. Side note - I wasn't given a choice of a side, though (good thing I love pickled radish). I also ordered Japchae for the glass noodles & marinated rib eye 😋 My server provided great service. She even offered a refill Coke to-go and the ambiance was relaxing. Pablo, you're doing a great job with this restaurant. I'll be back!

- Table for 2; no wait. - Food: 10 wings (half & half of soy garlic & sweet crunch) & Kimchi bacon house fried rice. Soy garlic tasted better but the sweet crunch had a better crunch. There was no fire symbol next to the Kimchi bacon but that joint was S-P-I-C-Y. All caps. - Drinks: pint of Golden Road Mango Cart Ale. It was delicious and helped ease the spiciness of the fried rice. - Service: friggin' great. Our server John (that's on the receipt, I don't recall seeing his nametag) was very courteous and helpful and you should give him a high five for me.

Thank you to the young gentleman Pedro/Pablo (Not sure) who helped us out. It was the perfect time to dine in, it was just us...Soda Fountain needs a CO2 replacement for sure and the chicken wasn't that crispy. But it was quiet & had a quick service.

My new favorite Korean fried chicken! Both flavors are delicious and they have a great lunch menu. You must try their kimchi slaw!

We ordered the small combo and chicken fried rice. The rice took forever to come out, so the waiter actually offered us free soju. I’ve had much better wings, and the texture of the fried rice was a little off putting.

I visited here for dinner late Saturday after Wango Tango. The place was clean and well maintained. The food taste was my concern. Maybe it’s fine for other menus… but if you know the taste of Korean chicken BBQ then it’s not the place for you. At least for soy-sauce chicken. The chicken has very strong soy smell, and it’s not what you usually taste from Korean soy sauce chicken. I feel like it’s made by someone who never tasted the Korean soy sauce chicken before. It was same for BBQ sauce that I ordered separately as side for my kid. It’s possible that other menus might be okay… but at least not the soy sauce chicken BBQ. My 3 star for food is just for soy sauce BBQ chicken.

Greasy noodles, hardly any meat, but plenty onions. The only thing worth eating here seems to be the fried chicken. Everyone around that’s all they ordered.

They had no fish in the building at all, which eliminated a good portion of the menu and when the individuals that were with me attempted to order, they were out of two of the items that they requested as well. Food was average but the young lady that helped us was super nice, she was the one positive thing about our visit there

We were eager to try this place as we were in the mood for some Korean fried chicken and we had some bad experiences with our local BB.q Chicken. However, this was probably the worst Korean fried chicken that we've ever had. The batter felt like it was 2 inches thick all the way around. When you got to the center, there was barely any meat. The sauce was actually pretty good, but it didn't even cover the entire wing and looked like it was lazily squirted onto them. When we asked if we could get a side of the sauce to compensate for this, they advised that we were going to be charged for the sauce. We then declined since our bill was already at $70. Service was fine. The waiter seemed friendly and was initially attentive, but as time went on, I feel that he could tell that we did not like the food and he stopped coming to our table. The place was clean and there was a lot of space, but the lack in quality of the food is the reason for this rating. We do not recommend this place for Korean fried chicken.

The store says it closes at 9:30, but when I arrived at 9:03, they were already not serving I tried calling but no one answered, and when I drove there, they said they were closed. Business hours are unclear Very disappointing

Would give negative stars on the service if I could. Closes at the staff’s whims with no prior notice even though they are taking orders which they are not making because they are closed (allegedly). In addition to this they are rude and impolite when dealing with this.

My spouse had went to order some wings and fries for dinner. When he checked the order, he was surprised at the amount of fries he got for $8. It was a handful of fries, not even halfway of the box. He asked if that's how much fries he gets for the $8 order. The cooks told him there's only one size and that's all he gets. He asked for a refund on the fries and was told he had to wait 40 minutes for the manager to come. I'm very disappointed and this will be the last time we will be getting bon chon.

Finally tried this place. I don't understand how this place is in business. Everything about this place was below average or just terrible. I can imagine if the food was really good, but it was flat out horrible. Biggest waste of money anyone can spend. We asked for mild, but didn't get it. Server said nothing when we told them we asked for mild - she just said OK and walked off. Price was ridiculous for the trash we were served. No one else in the restaurant and we were barely paid attention to. Probably owned by a rich kid or a front. This place is complete amateur hour.

Wouldn't eat here in a million years. I Completed a job for this location. The removal and disposal of a broken freezer. The manager, who apparently operates multiple locations, NEVER paid for the service. At the time he stated that he was in a meeting and would pay within an hour. Due to having other jobs on the schedule and trusting that he is a man of his word we agreed and moved on with the route. Only to later be ignored and blocked. Really goes to show the quality and integrity of this chain. Especially since this is who they have as their leadership. Makes you think what other shady practices they are complacent with and corners they are cutting.

Worst experience ordering delivery ever! I ordered online for delivery from the bonchon website directly, apparently they use doordash as the delivery service method. The driver called and said he was unable to deliver my food due to an incorrect address, I followed up and made sure i had entered the address correctly in whi h i did and he refused to drop off the order or even cancel the order… he then said I would have to call bonchon directly for my refund / to cancel So then i called bonchon to correct the issue and cancel/refund me for my $67 dollar order of food, Charlie was working on site that night on 12/20/24 at the costa Mesa location, he said he would have to ask the manager if he could refund my order, they then stated they were not going to refund me or cancel the order at all The delivery driver ended up pushing the order through as delivered in person which was completely false, he just stole my food… I tried to call doordash to report the driver for stealing my food, also tried to have DoorDash cancel the order and refund me, they also stated they were unable to assist me in the refund since i had ordered directly through bonchons website, they said i would have to contact the restaurant The restaurant refused to refund me at all! Basically robbed of $67 from DoorDash and bonchon

I can’t say enough bad about this restaurant…from the empty restaurant when you walk in, to their inaccurate web site ordering, to receiving the wrong order, and finally to the total disregard of the manager who would never return 4 calls and the corporate who would never answer 4 emails. Don’t be fooled when they say they care! What a shame…I used to like the chicken. This is in response to your response to my original review. You have got to be kidding! I have emailed that website four times and not gotten a response. In addition, you have not done anything to help me in the six days since you told me, you would be looking into it. Your total disregard is really upsetting.

Update: lol the store owner answered and said they were looking into it a month ago. NO change whatsoever, still charging $19 for 8 wings. And they're not like special wings or anything either Original: Don't order delivery - they JACK the prices up like crazy. IN store, 10 pieces wings is $15 and change. grubhub price is 8 wings for $18!! it's robbery

As soon as I took the first bite I knew we had messed up. The wings were all batter and extremely “crunchy” to the point it hurt the roof of my mouth. I was only able to eat 3 wings without the batter. My husband was forcing himself to eat the wings, but there was barely anything to eat since it was all batter and barely any meat. I’m extremely disappointed with the food definitely a waste of our money. Please make sure to read the reviews on multiple sources before coming here.

How or why is there no managers or supervisors during business hours? This is ridiculous and unsatisfactory. It’s quite disappointing because we love Bonchon and have been a long time customer. But due to this incident my family, friends, and I will no longer be doing business with Bonchon Costa Mesa.

The soy garlic flavor was only some drizzle of soy sauce. The chicken was crispy though. Extremely disappointed with the order. If this was not a to-go order, I would have returned it to the kitchen right away.
