Quattro is a staple for all the “ladies who lunch” after spending copious amounts of money shopping for luxury goods! It’s centered smack in the heart of what I like to call LUX row. Just around the corner from Bvlgari, next to Jimmy Choo. The restaurant is bustling with fun groups of people that are enjoying very good Italian food, glasses of champagne, wine, and everything in between. It’s very authentic Italian dining, and I love that it’s been there for 20 years. I hope it always remains the same!. The decor is absolutely fantastic with the most beautiful pictures of classic Italian movie stars and stunnning images of Italy. The bar is also really fun and it’s so good for people watching as they stroll by. It’s a very “see and be seen” type of spot. Food comes out quickly and piping hot, never been disappointed. It does have a high noise level, so it’s definitely not a space to have an intimate conversation in, it’s more for a good time and great food. The pizzas are delicious. All of the pasta are amazing and they have a really great salad salads, fresh and crisp. It is my go to every time.l I’m at the mall. I highly recommend!
Absolutely love this place, come with an appetite though. We generally just have appetizers and salad for lunch and even splitting appetizers they are huge. We had a dessert last time after checking they were small, well they weren't. The food we've had us delicious, the service is really good and although a tight space it's not too noisy. A little spendy but it's worth it, and hey, you're at south coast plaza!
Great service and amazing fresh seafood! Our waiter was super kind and recommended these amazing dishes to us. The calamari, and seafood pasta was so delicious! Kid friendly, and owner came around to ask how we were doing very personable! Definitely will be coming back here for the delicious food and great service!
It’s located in a great spot in the mall. The staff were nice and friendly and the atmosphere was good. We tried bruschetta and Wiseman salad for appetizers and those were good choices. We had wonderful beef ravioli and one of the pizzas which I can’t remember the name but it was delicious. Will back to try the other menu items.
Consistently great food and solid service. I love the lobster ravioli. It gets pretty busy, regularly, so be prepared to wait or get there early. Nice little patio out back too.
Bubu is an amazing server Her recommendations are spot on. Kudos to the entire team Great vast menu .... The vegan menu has great options. The wise guy salad is a must have... 😊 The salads and the champagne are very good. Phenomenal service by the entire team.. Looking forward to many more visits 😊🍻
This place is always perfect! And every dish is always mouthwatering! Today I was surprised by the fish of the day! Fresh. Juicy. Perfectly cooked. And even broccoli and potato surprised me. I already forgot when I got that crispy and delicious broccoli in my life! thank you for remaining how it is supposed to taste. Oh, and live music was the last drop for perfection! Thank you.
Excellent Italian fare and service, not only was our server Italian but the food was exquisite and very well priced for the amount, quality, and location! Definitely a great spot to have lunch while the family shops or if you’re visiting. The place is small but it’s very cozy and the service is exceptional. The meat carpaccio and the raviolis are especially exquisite.
Qattro Cafe in Costa Mesa California located in South Coast Plaza is one of my favorite Italian places. Drinks were delicious. Miriam the head chef and her team never disappoints. Everything that comes out of the kitchen has a touch of love. 💕 Pascual our server provided great service.
I've been to the South Coast plaza for many years, but never got the opportunity to try Quattro Cafe or even when it used to be called the Armani Cafe until recently. My friends and I came to South Coast Plaza for lunch and shopping. We weren't sure what we wanted to eat, but since some of the other options had long lines we decided on Quattro Cafe which seated us right away. We decided to do family style and all shared the calamari, wise guy salad, & summer pasta which was a "summer special". The complementary sourdough bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil was a great addition to our meal. The service was great and they checked up on us several times. If you're craving a good Italian meal pre or post shopping I recommend checking out this restaurant.
After passing Quattro for numerous years I finally ate there with a friend today. We sat at the bar and I had a Bloody Mary that tasted very good. We then shared a calamari appetizer. I had a delicious salad and very much enjoyed the food. I enjoyed with bread with olive oil as well.
The Quattro Caffe located in the South Coast shopping center is such a great place to take a break from shopping and sit down to enjoy some great Italian food. The restaurant was very busy on our last visit which is a great sign. We had fish & salad on this last visit. The salmon was so delicious & moist... what a great dish. We finished it all off with their special treat of a double affogato... make sure you order one because it is so tasty.
Wonderful food and service. We come here often to see one of our favorite servers. She remembers us every time and gets us to try new things. The background music is soothing and brings a nice vibe to the space. The outdoor space is welcoming and creates a nice atmosphere away from the shopping mall feel inside. Love this place!
Every time we come to Quattro we try something new for lunch or dinner. Their pizza is amazing and their seasonal items are really great. They have live music that makes the ambiance is just right. Try the veggie pizza!
Every time I visit Quattro Cafe it’s another wonderful memory with friends, or family and great food and service! Their expresso is the best in all of Orange County! Having grown up as a Cuban back East, drinking expresso is a very important ending to every meal and Quattro never disappoints. I love this place!
I took my 4-year-old son here on a random Wednesday evening, clearly not having any expectations for amazing service with a preschooler on a weekday, but Aubrey (our waitress) was phenomenal! Her charming personality and wit really made our evening. We have every intention to come back and only request her seating area from now on. Please ask for Aubrey if you get the chance! Thank you for exceptional service, which is unfortunately so rare nowadays.
The food, service, and the ambiance were just great. Victor is very professional and friendly. Monica, our server, was just the sweetest lady. We are so thankful and highly recommend this italian restaurant.
Always come here with my friend when I'm in town. The food and service are good. Never had a bad meal from here. Waitresses are great.
The outside seating is very cool - reminds me of Little Italy and getting awesome italian food while sitting along the street. Their cocktails are solid and consistent (oh and delicious!). Had the salami pizza and it is clear they have an official pizza oven here - the dough was perfect! My companion had the spaghetti bolognese and it was top notch - texture and flavor were amazing. This was my first time here and I am definitely coming back (soon!)
One of the best Italian place I know in California and I've been to many. If you ever visit try their secret menu: "Seafood Pasta" it's been around since 2012 but they removed it from the menu (it is quite the if you know you know)!
The Best!! This is my go to stop every time I go to South Coast Plaza , everything’s great !! Highly recommended!
The service is so great! We were waited on by Niki and had a great time :)
Always a wonderful place for lunch with family on Christmas Eve day!
I’ve been here a few times and the food and service is fantastic. Top notch. Best service I’ve ever had. The manager Domenico is always there greeting guests and making sure all is running well. The food is authentic with imports from Italy. I had quite a few different dishes from here. The filet is so tender and flavorful, the lobster pasta has a huge lobster tail, the sauces are all fresh and either homemade or directly from Italy. There are many drinks to choose from the bar and all made strong. Espresso bar too. There is a seasonal menu as well. This place also has NYE events and cooking classes !
I have been coming here since I was 7, and been coming ever since. The food, atmosphere, and music are all amazing. The food is one to die for and is not overly expensive. I’ve been to multiple restaurants in my life and this one I always consistently come back to. I’ve gotten to know the staff and they always know what I want. The staff is super friendly and the service is fast even when it’s a busy time they still run out the food at a reasonable pace. I’ve never been dis-satisfied at this place and their steaks are juicy. Not to mention the genius design of the tables! Ladies if you have a purse or multiple shopping bags the tables have a hook in each side to keep them in place. If you guys ever come by South Coast Plaza please try this restaurant truly one of the best I’ve been to.
I’ve been to this restaurant in South Coast Plaza many times. The wait time is good considering they are always busy. The waiters are friendly, and attentive, and the food is amazingly delicious. The price is right also. I’d have to say this restaurant is in my top five choices of places to dine.
Omg! Why I have never stop to eat here before I don’t know! Stopped in for the first time today and the food was delicious, but the staff is AMAZING! I swear my drink never got to the halfway mark cause someone was always making sure it was full! Dominico, the manager is fabulous! He is so friendly, extremely attentive (just like his staff), and he makes you feel like family. I swear I felt like I was back in Italy! He is obviously the heart of the restaurant when you witness customers coming in and hugging him and all the smiles around him! Thank you for a wonderful lunch experience!
I love this place. They have live music, cooking classes, and good selections of food and drinks. Manager with staff were very nice. Definitely a good stop while shopping to put good food in your system ... or having some fun lovely times when they have events, live music and various celebrations. The place has good energy. Totally recommend it for Italian food at South Coast.
I seen this restaurant multiple times during my visits from Washington. I finally had the opportunity to stop by and have dinner. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall dining experience. It was much more than just your typical small restaurant. The service and food was impeccable. I really like that it had that European flair and vibe to the restaurant. I’ll be sure to stop by and some upcoming visits.
Papardelle noodles cooked perfectly al dente. Great, fresh calamari. Great, light focaccia bread. Refreshing ice tea. Fast service once you order. Will be back.
I only put 4 stars for atmosphere because I miss the love music! This has been a family favorite since it opened 20+ years ago!
Love the food and service at QUATTRo CAFE. I love their Lemon Dressing in salads and antipasta. Delicious and scrumptious food
Very nice place. Only one complaint. Charging 3% service fee for credit card. Who carries that kind of cash.
The very BEST seafood pasta ever! The puff pastry dessert with apple was scrumptious!!!!
Quattro continues to be as Quattro as it can be post new management. Food still great despite a leaner menu. Managers or hosts need to be more engaging and more genuine. The live music is missing.
I'm a vegetarian and I found the restaurant had great options. I chose the Mista salad and was not disappointed. Fresh, delicious and perfect for a hot summer day. Great service.
Loved the experience:) got my water refilled several times and I had ordered a fish dish great food and service definitely coming back
Good food, a bit expensive (but appropriate for the mall that it is in), the focaccia is delicious. Risotto was a little salty.
Excellent, attentive service. Delicious veggie soup (more of a non-cream bisque). Generous portions. Super clean dining area. Convenient location for shopping. A+
Been here a few times now, and each time I really enjoyed it. Their chicken is halal and so is one steak item, but I'm forgetting which one. Food portions are pretty generous. Service is great and so is the overall vibe of the restaurant. Highly recommend!
Went with my mom and sister. I had the soup and caprese. My sister had the ceaser salad and my mom had the ravioli. The food was yummy and the service was on point. The crowd is chill and the lighting and decore perfect for my headache from shopping....Anyway check it out
Excellent Italian food.
Delish latte and croissants. Their croissants are larger than Starbucks. You get more for your money here. Good customer service, answered questions and made suggestions based on what I wanted. Plenty of sitting spots to sit and enjoy your meal and beverage. I recommend checking it out.
Nice little spot at the mall. Good food and great atmosphere. We were lucky to get an actual singer singing few classic songs to light up the mood. Servers were extremely nice and attentive. My mother loved the mocha here and Mediterranean salmon dish. If mother is happy then I am happy!!!! Must try this place.
It's a nice place and has amazing servers! I tried one pasta dish and dessert but I wasn't crazy about either of them. Definitely something I'd try again
The atmosphere and service were great, i like their bread w olive oil, but I didn't like their food much. We ordered Pollo Alla Birra( chicken, mashed potato, and asparagus)and Mista Salad w shrimp. Not my taste.
This place is a nice, little gem in the mall. The food is good, though it took a bit of time to get it. Honestly, the best part about the place is the staff. I was served by two lovely ladies who were quite kind and professional. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll certainly come back through for another Italian dish :)
Tried this popular place today. Well, my chicken panini, pesto sandwhich was very good. However, I had also wanted a side order of pasta and was told they did not offer. They did have "kids" portions they were not about to allow this smallish, senior lady to order; darn. (I asked as there were two girls right next to me with the perfect size pasta bowls) As it was only ate half my lunch. Food around me looked very good. This place is a tight squeeze between tables. There are so many wait staff milling around unecesarily filling up water glasses after every sip for instance. I value good service as much as the next person but this is way too much in a smallish place. May or may not return. Seemed to me ok price wise except for $18 for most desserts; okay if you want to split and both want the same thing. You can always head across the parking lot to Maggianos for all kinds of fine Italian food; this Caffe is handy though.
Me gusto la pizza de ese lugar, para ser un restaurant de centro comercial la comida esta muy buena
It’s been a long time since I last met up with my bestie, so we planned a shopping day together. Today the two of us celebrated Valentine’s Day a girls’ date with pretty food and good company. But the service was so slow, and we were carrying lots of shopping bags, yet they gave us a very small table. Meanwhile, the tables on both sides of us were much bigger. Not sure what the host was thinking when seating us.
Stopped in for dessert only, they weren't pleased but seated us. The waitress was a bit surly. The music started about 6 pm or so. The music is recorded but the singer was alive. He was good.
Went with co-workers for a birthday luncheon. The pizza reminded me of a pizza we had in Compania Italy a few years ago, really good. Service was good, but the other food was just okay. The halibut was very dry and not that flavorful. Maybe an off day, we all have those. I'd definitely dine here again to see.
I have had good pasta and wine here at Quattro before, and I wanted to go back so I called in today (late morning/noon, 8/9/24) to make a reservation. A woman answered the phone and asked for my name and phone number, and the next moment she said "please hold". I was put on hold for 4 minutes so I hung up (she may have my caller ID but I didn't get any call back). I think customers deserve better than this.
We ordered , then the table who came 10 mins after us got their order first. And the waiter who served us was not as friendly as how he treated the other table. We told about the delay to a waitress. Then the waiter came and brought the food but it was no longer hot as it was supposed to be. We told the waiter that the food came out late but instead of apologizing, he told us that it took sometime for the pizza to cook, we get it but the pizza being served is not hot anymore, so it must be sitting out there for awhile, while this waiter was all bringing all the foods on the other table which is alot, while we only ordered pizza and a plate of pasta. After we begun eating the manager came with the waiter and apologized for the mishap and took off the pizza from the tab. It was nice but our appetite has gone sour already, so when they asked us if we would like to box the left over pizza which is half of the whole we just say " No thank u". Never take home food boxed by waiter you complained about. 😃
Service was a slow to getting started with me. To the point I almost walked out before ordering. No customer should sit for more than 5 minutes before the first waiter makes contact. Great service after that. Food pricing was a lil high but then again it it's in line with all the high end stores in this Mall. Food was honestly not that good IMHO. Raviolli Di Carne flavor was just not that good. Texture and presentation was good. I ordered a side of garlic bread that was disappointing; it looked like plain white sandwich bread smothered in melted mozzarella cheese with way too much garlic. The table bread they brought out was much better and free.
It took us 45 minutes to get seated with party of 3 people. Service was very good initially but after we ordered and food was served it felt as they wanted us to quickly finish our food so they can seat the next set of people. I had initially asked for the desert menu but the lady forgot didn't even give the menu nor ask me if we wanted any deserts after. My wife had asked for a cappuccino after the entree they gave us the bill and are telling us they can give it in a ToGo cup lol who does that ? We decided to just leave afterwards as we felt rushed as if it was a fast food place.
Quattro Caffe has been in South Coast for as long as I remember and finally gave it a try. I ordered their pepperoni pizza and have to admit I was underwhelmed. The pizza could have used another minute in the oven as the crust wasn't crispy and I doubt the establishment is using Italian 00 flour. As someone who has spent the past 15 years obsessing over pizza and make my own dough and sauce, I had higher expectations. The plus for Quattro is the location, nestled in now very chic South Coast, it's a good stop if you're in the mood for some Italian. As expected for the area, the price is overpriced, but it is what it is. I found the service to be good so no complaints there. It's not an outstanding authentic Italian and walks more towards the Cheese Cake Factory, the Italian cuisine part, but it will do if you want the ambiance, the convenience, and willing to pay a bit more. I think there is room for improvements and will leave it there.
Wondering what has happened to this venerable restaurant. They served us excessively overpriced food while one waiter told us stories of how customers complained about the bloated prices. The lasagna was laughable - a thin stack of noodles and sauce blanketed by a piece of parmesan (I think) cheese. More like a TV dinner than restaurant fare. Nothing on the menu less than $28. After you eat your disappointing dinner, the cheque arrives with a 3% credit card fee! We are 20 year frequent diners who will not be returning.
First time here. We five of us came here looking to get small bites - slightly earlier than our dinner time. I told the waitress from the get go. Ordered glass of wine beer and some appetizers. 1. Ambiance. Good. Real restaurant feel in the mall which is hard to come by. 2. Food. I judge the quality of Italian restaurant with the taste of meatball which i always order whenever I come to a new restaurant. It was not good. Felt slightly uncooked. A little tough. And a bit slimy. Other apps were average (calamari, focaccia, fries). 3. Service. The waitress was nice enough. Smiling. But she came to our table multiple times if we wanted more beer. My wife reminded her many times that she will only have one beer. Despite that she kept coming to ask if we wanted more food. Kind of gave us the message to get the hell out and stop occupying the middle table We are from New England area and any local Italian restaurant is better than this establishment. It’s a shame for such a high “class” mall to host this level of restaurant. I won’t be coming back (yes I do have family in the area so I visit LA/OC at least once a year).
The price of their food is for a fine dinning and the taste does not live up to it. The authentic Italian taste is not there. It's all aesthetics. Their pizza taste like shakey's pizza. Olive garden is better in taste, experience and price. One of the review says their rude and I will agree on that. They want you in and out fast even though you ordered a lot and you're with a huge group.
Wanted to love it, but just feel sick now. My husband and I went to Quattro Café tonight for the second time. The first time was nice and we were at the mall so we wanted to go back. The service was great, they are so nice, very quick, and remade a dish for us with no rude attitude. The food is what lost us. Out of all three dishes we both agreed that the food tasted like it came from the freezer or from a can. Now we are at home sick to our stomachs wishing we just didn’t eat the food. Saw online that someone had recommended the seafood pizza. It was hardly cooked at all and just a mess of God knows what. They should take that item off the menu to be frank. The pork ravioli we sent back and they brought us the cheese ravioli instead, it was slightly better but still is not worth the price for the freezer food quality. The live music is cool and the staff was great, we will probably just go back to the bar area and not have food.
the alfredo was terrible. it was greasy with no flavor i had to add salt and pepper and chili oil myself. cash and card have different prices so i had to pay extra since i paid with card. and there was only a 18% tip option for the lowest. service wasnt very great either.
After an enjoyable shopping day. My wife and our kids came to this restaurant for dinner. They were greeted by a hostess and were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. After waiting 45 minutes my daughter ask the hostess how much longer she had to wait. The hostess replied, there were many reservation so it will be a longer wait. After and hour and twenty minutes later, my wife asked the hostess, how much longer she had to wait. The hostess told her that she is clearing up the reservation. Then my wife noticed the restaurant manager and other hostesses bring many customers into the restaurant, even the one's that came to wait after my wife and kids. After hour and 40 minutes she ask the hostess how many reservations she had left. She said we're almost done and you should be seated soon. After and hour and 50 minutes my wife and kids were seated. Any restaurant would know an approximate waiting time for a customer based on the reservation. A 20-30 minute wait became an hour and 50 minutes. The restaurant hostess pick and chose who to seat first, not based on who came first. I feel my wife and kids were discriminated. No person, kid, or family should ever experience this. You should serve customers equally!
My wife and I eat at this restaurant numerous times and it’s been very good but after last nights dinner we will not be going back. We started with a Caesar salad that tasted like I was eating mayonnaise. The chicken Parmesan we ordered was so tough and the cheese they used did not even taste like Parmesan. The side of pasta Bolognese was good. We had two glasses of wine that were $24 dollars each . Very overpriced now since they raise their prices.
This review is for our waitress , Bouthenia . She was extremely unwelcoming and rude . The only time she spoke with us was to ask us what we like to order . She never checked up on us considering the restaurant was not busy at all . No hi , no welcome ,no thank you. She just put the check at our table without saying a word , just attitude . We love the food and ambiance of Quattro . It’s unfortunate we had this very unpleasant and unprofessional encounter with her .
First and last time here Food was blah no taste Service with NickNoush was horrible attitude yelling at us Not a friendly human..
Horrible experience. Our party came in at around 3PM, but the food only arrived at 4:30. Now this would have been somewhat tolerable if they had brought back the complimentary bread out to us when they asked us if we wanted a refill. On top of that, the waiter forgot to give out the dipping oil to some of our party, so we were left with dry slabs of bread to feast upon. We ordered pepperoni pizza, gnocchi pesto, and a bistecca sandwich. Obviously, making food like gnocchi and the bistecca with caramelized onions takes a while, but an hour and thirty minutes is excessive. Even when it did come out, there was a long, thin strand of pale blonde hair sitting atop the sauce (our party all had black hair). Still, our food was alright enough: the pizza was good, though a little bit soggy; the new dish of gnocchi was decent with soft pasta and creamy pesto; and the bistecca had a good combination of ingredients, however the meat was a little bit overcooked. I will admit, their portions are sizeable, but the quality of the food wasn't incredible. Also, we had ordered Sprites and a coffee, but they brought out lemonade instead and the coffee never arrived. Overall, the average food did not make up for the insane wait time for the food and the service.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I had the worste experience ever. Please consider other places to eat. When I arrived I waited for 10 min by myself they made me feel discriminated, being a young female they saw me there and did not acknowledge me. As soon as my male older coworker walked in they acknowledge him. That is not the worste, there was a cockroach egg shell in my lasagna and when we informed the waiter they acted dumb and did not inform manager until we asked for him. It really made me feel they didnt care there was a bug in my food. They try to play it off as if it was basil in my food when I clearly picked up the shell from my plate and saw what it was. I was served nasty food with a roach shell in it and they tried to make me feel crazy.
The restaurant in question is situated within the confines of the shopping mall. We opted to dine at this establishment due to our child's predilection for pasta. The service provided was commendable, and the ambiance, though bustling, was enhanced by the presence of live music. Regrettably, in the immediate aftermath of our meal, I experienced a severe bout of illness, characterized by profuse sweating, an intense headache, and ultimately, vomiting and other gastrointestinal distress. It is my firm belief that the source of this indisposition can be attributed to the food consumed at this establishment. The precise nature of the food quality issue remains unclear, but I found myself confined to the restroom facilities of the shopping mall for approximately an hour, enduring episodes of vomiting and diarrhea. The severity of my condition was further compounded by cold sweats, clamminess, and persistent nausea.
Grossest food I think I have ever eaten. Lasagna and chopped salad were both disgusting. Lasagna tasted like bad cafeteria food and the server lied and said it was the best thing on the menu (clearly trying to push it). I bit into a rotten mushroom and could not eat the wilted salad after that. My liquor drink was warm and the strawberries that were supposed to be decorative were mashed and looked as if they had been sitting all day. Server (we sat in the back of the restaurant in a cold area that felt dirty and we felt like we were eating in a covered area in the parking lot) yelled across the room to her customers asking if they wanted water or bread and complained to us that the customers were demanding — unbelievable I have never experienced anything like this EVER…I wasted over $100 on dinner for two! I would not eat there if it was free bc when I thought of the food I felt queasy that I actually ate some of that food (we left the majority of it since we only tasted a few bites and were disgusted). We left as soon as we could.
The WORST customer service experience I've ever had. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! It was my first time trying this place, and it'll definitely be the last. They wrapped my food to go without even asking or informing me -- then told me I couldn't eat inside because it was already boxed. Absolutely ridiculous!! I asked for the manager, who was completely unprofessional and rude! He didn't come to me -- I had to go find him. And instead of apologizing or offering any kind of solution, he just said the food was already made and refused to refund me. No accountability whatsoever. I asked for owner or somebody else in charge and he said he is the one! UNBELIEVABLE! I ended up telling them to keep the food and the money. It's not about $10 -- it's about the attitude, the disrespect, and the TOTAL LACK of basic customer service. I'll make sure everyone I know avoids this low level, awful and unprofessional place. Running a business this poorly is how you lose customers for good.
I’m very sorry but we went shopping and decided to have lunch at your place, but no, no way…! Bad pasta, bad seafood, and had no chance to eat… Food was gummy and undercooked… Really bad experience… Sorry guys need to change that cook 👨🏻🍳 Good luck 🍀
Disgusting place. Rude personal. Terrible low quality food. I don’t advise anyone to eat over there.
First time here, ordered the chicken parm. Worst chicken parm I have ever had. First it was over fried and the breading slightly burnt. Secondly, for the life of me I could not see any chicken between the breading. Waste of $36. First and last time I will ever go there again. Oh, don't use your credit card, they tack on 3%.
