Great food. Lovely and entertaining Hibachi Chefs. Recommend the Hibachi combo for 2, and if you like sushi, the GaGa roll is divine.

Staff were very nice. Everyone is wearing a mask. Great sushi. Plum wine is delicious. Sake is wonderful as well. Tables are kept clean. Lots of parking.

Cant go wrong with hibachi. Quiet mid size restaurant. Menu provides many options. Chefs are entertaining. Even a little section if you dont want all the theatrics. Would definitely go back.

Went to this place during the week, great food was very surprised of the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff. Would certainly return for sure, very clean nice place.

Me and my family ate here for my mom's 60th birthday. The place is cozy and they were able to accommodate all 21 of us The staff was great and the chefs amazed all the kids as well as the adults. Bring your appetite because you will get a lot of food. Almost everyone left with a doggy bag. I had the steak and scallops with fried rice and it was delicious. I also had a couple bottles of saki. They have a nice list of sakis but I went with a sweet one and it was great.They also let us bring our own cake and we all celebrated and sang to my mom. I highly recommend it and will be back!!

Great food. The sushi is always fresh and the Hibachi is really good. It is a bit pricey though. They lost a star because the Hibachi dinner should come Fried rice. (Fried rice is extra) Other than that, it deserves 5 stars

I ate here for first time and it was absolutely amazing! We tried several things, I had a delicious yellow tail special and a few different rolls. By far the best California rolls I have ever had! All the rolls we tried were a good size, bigger than most places so I am looking forward to trying more. I will definitely be back!

The food is always delicious and high quality. The place is clean, has very friendly and helpful staff, and the prices are pretty good. I'm actually not a huge fan of sushi, but the hibachi chicken and the chicken katsu are a couple of my favorite menu items. For someone who doesn't really like sushi, I've tried it, and the sushi I can tell is very good quality! I just prefer other things from their menu. I LOVE the dressing they use on the green salad, I could drink that stuff straight. The appetizers are really good, too. Some of my favorites are the gyoza and the asparagus wrapped in beef (though I forget what that's called on the menu.) I often order delivery and it always arrives quickly and still hot (if the food is meant to be hot, anyway. Sushi is served cold!) I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice place to go for a date, with their family, or to plain ol' just have a nice meal.

We went here for 4 birthdays, the food was excellent. Service was fast. The hibachi chef was funny, talkative and put on a great show! At the end! 4 birthday desserts were brought out and the staff sang!!

The sushi here is the best you're going to get within miles. I have come here for over 5 years and never had a bad meal. Great for take out, go to the local a&p and save your register receipt. On the back are 10 dollar off coupons for 50 dollar purchase or more. Order exactly 50 bucks and it works out to a 20% off coupon. Great value. Love the owners, service at sit down is average at best but the sushi quality more than makes up for it. Hibachi is average but fun if you have a group of kids. If you are a fan of uni, they usually buy low quantities and always serve it fresh. It sells out often so you know it's not day old. Important if you are an uni lover.

Good sushi, good hibachi. Consistently one of our favorite places in the area for the food and environment. Great for parties at the grill, always a good show. Dining area is a little small so when they are busy best to move on or dine at home. Take out is fast even when they are busy. Strong recommendation.

Hands down, favorite sushi spot in the area. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is eager to serve their patrons, although sometimes it feels a little rushed- but it doesn't take away from how great the stuff is. Several hibachi tables and different dining areas. We often sit in the back room when there is a larger group of us and I prefer that area over others.

Excellent food, great service. Had steak hibachi, cooked perfectly - just as I ordered. Plum wine was excellent. Finished off with a shared hazelnut truffle (although the kid's bear dessert was so cute!).

My family was there and I was sad I couldn't make it. So I thought maybe I could call in and suprise them by offering to pay it online. I am so glad they helped me and took the payment online. BEEF TERIYAKI LUNCH COMBINATION Steak was an excellent cut of Ribeye, melt in your mouth tender served Med Rare and with a light tasting Teriyaki sauce. I like Teriyaki strong but whatever, it was delicious. Scallops melted in my mouth and taste fresh. Rice was perfectly cooked sushi style. Greens very fresh. Tuna roll was avg. Wasabi tasty and hot I'll give it an 8. ANY 3 ROLL COMBINATION: Spicy Tuna Roll; Buddha Roll & Advacato Roll.

I really do like this restaurant. The food is good and fresh, as sushi should be. Beautiful presentation. The rolls are creative and large -- I am working my way through the special rolls and haven't had a bad one yet. They also offer some excellent soups and appetizers. Service is prompt. I've never tried the teppanyaki side of the restaurant, although it seems people have a good time gathered around the tabletop show. The only drawback is that the good times can get loud. Still, this is a favorite in Croton, a required stop when I am in the area! Another visit to Samurai: Saturday night, very busy! Lots of kids and lots of excitement when the chefs do their routines on the grills. But I am a sushi person, and that menu did not disappoint. The servers were hurried this time -- it was quite busy. The food was prompt, though. And yummy, as usual. I still stand behind my top rating for this restaurant, and I hope they will have an opportunity to remodel and expand the restaurant in the future.

The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was great. We had the lunch special. I had chicken, my wife steak hibachi. We also had Cucumber and avocado roll as well as the California Veggie roll. Both were delicious and fresh. Portions sizes were good. Also tried their veggie spring roll and that too was good. Nice clean restaurant. Will return.

Excellent experience!! Between the food and friendly service, everything was great! My fiance had the Mango Girl Roll with Salmon instead of the lobster and I had Yellow Tail Roll, and we both had the seaweed salad. Absolutely delicious! Our server was very professional and prompt with everything. We will definitely visit again soon!!

This is truly an amazing Japanese restaurant ! I love all of the vegetarian options and how you can even customize your sushi rolls with soy paper (my fav!) We walked in & got seated right away and even saw the fun hibachi experiences! Beautiful closed off dinning room in the back! Our server was wonderful, and even offered the kids free soda! The food & drinks were so amazing. My favorite appetizer was the Harmuachi ( vegetable rolls) and the Edamame! The best sushi’s in my opinion were Avocado/ Penut with the honey glaze on the roasted peanuts and Avocado Cucumber is a total gem! Definitely stop in, very good prices & fresh food! Total cost was $70 for a group of 4, 2 appetizers, a LOT of sushi, drinks and desert! Highly recommended!! 10 stars if I could, love this place and will be returning often!

This, if not the best, Japanese restaurant in the Ossining/croton Harmon area. The atmosphere is very soothing. It is capable of sitting for multiple large parties but also gives a secluded feeling. It is very appealing and clean with a sense of warmth. The food is absolutely amazing and the menu is quite extensive. It has a meal for everyone. Prices are in the medium range but if you want a bang for your buck then try the lunch specials which work out a lot cheaper. I overall love this place and go here quite frequently

We’ve only ever gotten delivery or pick up but they’ve been incredibly great at always giving us warm and delicious food. I love that they deliver to the surrounding towns and they always send kind punctual people as well. Highly recommend any hibachi meal and the sushi is also delicious!

Visited Sushi Samurai for the first time and was impressed. The sashimi was fresh, the spider roll had a great crunch, and the drinks were well made, try the Mai Tai. Large space, good service, and a solid spot for sushi in northern Westchester.

OMG! This place is so great. We found it by accident while looking for the other restaurant. Google didn't show it to us. I ordered Sashimi Lunch which was amazing. First we got miss soup and a side salad and after the mane dish. Everything was perfect. Very authentic and a great food experience. I will visit this restaurant next time we will be heading to NYC.

Hadn't been here in a couple of years. The sushi presentation was excellent. Very attentive staff. Better, more varied wine selection than I remember from the last time I was here. We didn't sit at the hibachi this time, but from what was visible, those who did enjoyed the show and the meals. Kid friendly too, so that's a plus for parents.

We went for hibachi on Mother's Day. Our chef was great, very friendly and entertaining. The food was good, generous portions.

Great spot for sushi if you live locally. Take out is fast. We usually order the green salad, pork gyoza, and a few sushi rolls or a specialty roll. Free pineapple chunks when you get your check is a nice touch too!

Delicious sushi and hibachi. Only reason why I cannot give 5 stars is the lack of menu flexibility, and lack of customer appreciation. 5 star restaurants will accommodate clients requests (within reason) and in addition, express gratitude for regular clients. This one doesn't.

Samurai Seafood soup is amazing, brings me back every time. Sushi options are ordinary, but fresh and tasty. Haven't tried the meat, but the smells from the grill area are delish.

Really good food. Only reason I do not feel they deserve 5-stars is because of their terrible delivery service. The food is delicious and great for eat in, but there is no reason why food should take over an hour to be delivered. This has happened several times. The delivery people were several different young, untrained, and unprofessional drivers. If they offer delivery they should be able to accommodate for that.

Samurai offers delicately styled sashimi at responsible price. They have some of the best sushi in Westchester that I have tasted. The wait staff is attentive. Not willing and wanting to travel to NYC, Samurai is a fine alternative and you will not be disappointed.

the food is amazing my only cripe is that all of the desserts are frozen whether they are supposed to be or not i just wish someone would tell the owner that your not supposed to store tiramisu, creme brulee and other desserts in the freezer because they all come out frozen besides that their food is probably the best food iv ever eaten

Samurai is a great go to spot. We normally do take out. Portion sizes are much smaller when taking out, at least when it comes to habatchi. The wait staff were amazing so attentive and helpful. Beer was super cold and the leche martini is highly recommended. The food however was a bit salty, and came out very spread out. The meat had little flavor…be sure to ask for lite soy sauce. The sushi however is great. Anything on the menu.

Traveling Cosmos and Tacos

My first time here today for lunch. Chose the hibachi table since it was my friend, Donna’s first time. We loved it! Food was good. I had Plum wine with my Shrimp Tempura roll. We also tried Salmon cream cheese roll and Chicken & Shrimp Hibachi with fried rice and noodles. The only thing I would request different is cutting back on the soy sauce. I have a low tolerance for salt. But the food was good otherwise. The service was also good. No complaints. Will go back with a group next time. I’ll upgrade my photos on my next visit. 🤗

Good food BUT if your ordering take out and you order a lot of sushi be aware that they barely give you enough soy sauce for 1-2 rolls at the most. Truly disappointing especially since one is paying a good amount of money per order

The hibachi chef cooked everything with the exact same sauce therefore everything tasted exactly the same. The steak, lobster, veggies and shrimp the was no distinct flavor just that of soy sauce, butter and oil. I was very disappointed.

Get hibachi experience or quite side table service, good timely service

Myself and my party as well as the other family at our hibachi table felt incredibly rushed. They want you in and out FAST. We were really put off by this. They were literally pushing us out the door. It really takes away from the meal. No matter how good the food is, not sure I would ever go back.

The food is delicious. Beware that the tip suggestions include the tax. Tip suggestions should never include tax. Also, do not think you are getting a complimentary glass of wine when they bring you another that you didnt order. Nothing is complimentary in that restaurant. I should've sent it back but it was presented as an "on the house" kind of thing. It was very clear that 2 of us were not ordering another round, just 1 person at the table. The waitress was very aware of what she was doing. Shady.

Family always loved this place, last night I ordered a huge sushi platter and sesame chicken. Sushi seems fine but there was something off about the sesame chicken. Tasted bad, and upon closer inspection it didn’t look fresh. Like it had been made hours earlier and reheated when someone didn’t pick it up? Either way I got real sick ten minutes later, and spent the whole night sick. So I will never be using this place again.

I don't understand what sushi place screws up a shrimp tempura roll. I mean it had little to no eel sauce and the cabbage in the roll ruins everything. Plus I ordered a spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura and the charged me 15 bucks for 10 pieces of sushi where I could get 16 pieces for 9 bucks somewhere else. Rip off.

Don't be excited to go to this place. Food is below average. How can you enjoy it if the tables are dirty, sticky and grimy. You're swatting flies and gnats the entire time. I couldn't wait to leave. It was disgusting.

The food was great. However, the waitress was very rude with us when we were ordering food because we have kids and we were unsure due to the menu. As we asked her questions she began to get frustrated with us. She didn’t even let us finish placing the order and left with an attitude. The restaurant has only 2 tables. It wasn’t even busy and she couldn’t give us a proper service.Because we are nice Asian people we gave her fair tips. Please do not under estimate people. Please train your waitress because with that kind of attitude you will lose customers like us.

Been there a number of times, last visit ervice left much to be desired. Was very disappointed. It was incredibly cold, and there were space heaters everywhere. Maybe a temporary problem. Asked for a second soda, was told they don't do refills, I would have to pay for another drink, did I still want it???? Just felt cheap. Don't think we will be returning any time soon. Shame because the hibachi has always been good in the past.

BEWARE!!! Food poisoning from BAD SUSHI. My husband became violently ill last week from eating the Hawaiian roll. After a 2 day hospitalization at Phelps where he was treated for food poisoning and severe dehydration, he is slowly beginning to regain his strength from these serious complications. This complaint has been registered with the health department for immediate action. STAY AWAY FROM SAMURAI!!!

Horrible service, the food is mediocre at best, and the atmosphere is nothing you want kids, family, or a date in. Go somewhere else and save yourself the trouble. The people in the next room were yelling so loud we couldn't have a normal conversation at our table. The Houses answer to this was to turn the music up louder. I ordered the pork katsuo which was way over fried and extremely dry. Served with A1 steak sauce to dip in was interesting but not exactly appetizing. I would have loved to have been able to try the sushi but the waitress never put the order in for it. So while I was expecting something decent this experience sealed it for me and I'll never be back.

Coming from a customer service sector myself it’s as easy as 1,2, & 3, but SAMURAI in CROTON HUDSON, NY fails to comprehend that! I get lunch here every once and awhile and the young “Hostess” who sits right at the door “working” fails to use basic human skills like saying “Hi, How are you?, & thank you for coming”! All she does is stare at her phone like there isn’t life beyond her screen. When she does lift her face from the screen she’s either ditzy, rude, and or gives off RACIST vibes, as if she doesn’t know how to act around DIFFERENT CULTURES. At the end of the day your chefs save your reputation with great food because your “Service Representatives” aren’t allowing me to pass 1 Star for this establishment!

I only order from here when Asagao is closed, which seems like always. I’ve ordered from here before and have been fine, until today. I got 3 rolls from them and now have food poisoning. Have been puking up everything I eat all day long. I know that it was this food bc I barely ate anything at all yesterday besides their sushi Never again!!! Ever!!

HORRIBLE!!! went last night and the hostess immediately caught an attitude because we were only 2 people for hibachi. Was rushing us to decide what we wanted and stood there until we did. Chef was not friendly and would not answer questions. DID NOT put rice in the hibachi mix and any and every place I go for hibachi includes rice. I even asked him about the rice and he eluded the question. The food was blah. Then came time for the check, I tipped what i thought was fair and the waitress literally begged me for more. What kind of business is that? Tips are discretionary and I feel like I overpayed for a lousy meal.

Had to wait an hour for service and then my meat was uncooked and some on the table and not my plate but still got charge for full meal. Everything was in a rush and before you knew it the bill was in front of you. Don't waste your money or time here not worth it.

Everything startred well until I was asked to leave a bigger tip. I'm a 18% tipper and I paid cash. Then the lady came back with my cash and the bill trying to explain that I had to leave a bigger tip. That's ridiculous! Never again will I come there again. 1st and last time! Take your business elsewhere . It was belittling, embarrassing, and very unprofessional.

This place is the worst, I will never come back. They had me seating on a table for over 5 minutes, a couple walks in and seat next to my family, and in less than 30 seconds they were giving menus and water. This is a shame discriminating because of skin color. I gave it one star so I can be able to write my review, no star from me is what they deserve. 👎👎👎

I called a week in advance to reserve a havachi table for my son’s birthday dinner … I asked then if I could decorate the table bring some balloons and a cake they agree to all of it… once I decorated they asked me to not do too much because it is an inconvenience for them to clean after. As we were eating there was a waiter who keeps coming by to collect our plates while we were still eating… after that we light up the cake sing happy birthday and we start cutting the cake and immediately after that; we were asked to move from our hibachi table that I had reserved for this occasion. They moved us to a common table to finish celebrating my son‘s birthday… I sure did not appreciated this treatment ; our meal six adults one child including tip was $300 and I was asked to move from our table… The owner try to make up by buying us a rum of drink to try to make up. However this was a 18 year old boy celebration; we left unhappy and we are never go back… now we all this said the food was great the chef was great, but the service sucks..,

My entire family came here for lunch and the food was good, but we expected the dishes to be removed from our table since we had a large group and the order was large. The service was awful, we were the only ones in the restaurant, there was no excuse for lack of customer service. My husband decided not to tip our usual 18 percent because of the lack of service. The server came back to my husband and told him that his tip was not acceptable. Who does that? I have never hear that one can be forced to give a better tip. My husband is a gentleman and gave her the tip that she expected. I just want everyone out there that plans to attend this restaurant to be on the alert because you don’t have a choice to tip according to the service.

I would not return here or recommend to anyone. I had reservations for 7 on a Saturday night party of 7. We were seated and waited 15 mins for a drink order. The place was not busy at all. It took the chef 20 minutes after receiving drinks to begin cooking. He had no personality and looked miserable. The fried rice is extra and usually not in other real hibachi resturants, rip off. Our food was flavorless especially the noodles. During our meal, we were all thirsty waiting for our waiter to come around for refills. She was no where to be found.

My husband and I took are kids for dinner about a month ago, it was the worse experience ever. We were rush to order our food, to eat it and pay our bill. We had the manager, the cooks and the servers watching us like a hawk.. We felt pressure and our kids were disappointed of the hibachi experience.

Samarai is going downhill. their food and service gets worse and worse. every once in a while I get a take out order of their hibachi fried rice, which used to be good. the past few times, it's been horrible, missing the vegetables, the egg, it's been cold, etc. and they don't seem to care. and their customer service is not good. very unfriendly and an 'oh, well' attitude. I do NOT recommend Samaria

The staff rushed us through our meal. The hibachi would have been good if they did not put a ton of minced garlic in the food. I’m not sure if minced garlic is part of the recipe for hibachi but this much garlic. Was disgusting. Never have I seen that in any hibachi food. 30 dollars for steak hibachi, with three pieces of steak covered in minced garlic.

We were very good customers until tonight. The chef was terrible, rude, added too much pepper to the rice so you could not eat it and it was raw. I asked for well done chicken and he served it to me raw. When I told him it was raw he starting cleaning the grill. The portions were cut in half and when I said where are the veggies the Manager said they were just for decorations.The Manager was not very sympathetic but after arguing she finally took off my dinner. We will never be back. P.S. their air conditioner did not work.

Horrible service, I went to eat there and the waitress was constantly rushing me to order my food, like 5 times in 10 minutes because I was waiting for my partner, even rushed him when he just got there. They served the food and 5 minutes later they gave us the check and a container. They made us pay even though I wanted more.

We came to the restaurant over the weekend with our full family to celebrate our young daughter's birthday. The food was good and the hibachi chef was fine. But the service was horrible and they just tried to rush us out of there as fast as they could. The waitress kept coming over and asking "are you done?" and "give me that empty plate". And when we were finishing up but not yet done, she just brought over a stack of clean plates and put them in front of us, just to send the message that we need to leave, even though we were there less than 1.5 hours total. When we commented on this to the hostess, she just laughed the whole thing off. Horrible evening, and very disappointing way to celebrate our daughter's special occasion.

Ordered pickup online for lunch special 3 rolls and an additional special roll totaling $33.50 at 2:57pm, had to add card info and browser took a bit to load. Order placed at 3:01-3:03 and got a call they declined it because it came in late. Poor customer service.

Downgrading for the restaurant managers visibility. You need to switch out the black plastic takeaway containers. Black plastic is known to be the worst for dumping microplastics into food, especially hot food which is what you're putting directly into them for takeout. Please do some research and replace with non-plastic containers so you don't spread microplastics into your customers digestive systems. Food was terrific. I had the filet mignon and it was absolutely delicious. I would advise everybody with a reservation to arrive early. We were 5 minutes late, and they gave our spot to somebody else and so we had to wait over an hour, at which point I was lucky to get a table because they almost accidentally gave our table to another person! So the hostesses were not doing a very good job, but perhaps that was just a one-off night.
