Ristorante storico con vasta scelta di cibi e vini di ottima qualità a prezzi congrui. Location raffinata ma (ben venga) senza ostentazione. Comodissimo parcheggio di proprietà antistante. Cortesia e disponibilità senza eguali.

Cibo ottimo, locale carino e accogliente, mi sono stupito che ci fosse così poca gente a pranzo di domenica, forse dovrebbero fare di più per promuoverlo.

Tutto buono ma sono presenti opzioni vegetariane per il primo ma non per i secondi purtroppo, che avrei preso volentieri. Essendo le porzioni poco abbondanti rischiate di non riuscire a saziarvi non prendendo il secondo ma soltanto antipasto primo e dolce. Ottimo il tiramisù nella versione fragole e matcha per San Valentino

What a brilliant restaurant just up the hill from Porto Ceresio! We loved the atmosphere outside but I am sure it will also be nice inside, very cosy. Upon entering we noticed the fantastic wine collection about which more later. Slight disappointment at the start was the digital only menu; you have to whip your phone out to read it. Call me old fashioned but I like a physical menu. But then the food; it was amazing. Generous portions and beautifully presented. Special highlights were the beef tartare and the very creative version of a melanzane. But the chateaubriand was the star of the evening; I have never had a better one. Perfectly cooked, gorgeous in taste. Amazing. Even better than the also at the table prepared and cut beef tartare. The mushroom risotto was very good and I loved the presentation in a copper pan at the table but could do with a bit more seasoning. We had some desserts of which the chocolate lava cake was the highlight. I ordered it but our sons ate it. The wine list is extensive and as you have to read it on your phone you are better off asking the sommelier for advice. He recommended two reds, both of which were fantastic and cost 25 and 30 euro respectively. A steal for a restaurant of this stature. Great evening, great hospitality.

The mushroom risotto here became my favorite Italian dish instead of carbonara and tagliatelle ragu alla bolognese. I don’t even like eating mushrooms, you could even say hate. The flavor of this one felt so rich and nuanced versus other ones I’ve had. I also tried beef tartare here for the first time. While I didn’t personally like it, you can tell the quality is really good and I know my friends would love this place. Other than the food, the staff was amazing, the restaurant was beautiful, we were glad driving 1.5hr to this place because it was worth it and I hope this place is just as good when we return to Italy in the future. This place is a must go!!! Best restaurant we went to in northern Italy :)

I loved this restaurant. The lasagna was to die for. It's a bit hard to find up the mountain but a perfect experience. The staff was attentive, friendly, and a perfect part of my meal. One of best experiences I've ever had in a restaurant!

Don't let the understated atmosphere of this place fool you; diehard foodies are in for a treat! The matron of the house awaits you at the door to show you in, we sat outside in a pleasant garden patio with a lovely herb garden, our first indication that the chef knew what he was doing. The service was familiar and courteously friendly. A white Verdicchio was poured and a generous variety of fresh breads was passed around. We started with cured goose carpaccio that looked deceptively simple but captured your taste buds with subtle orange flavors. Then came a salmon tartare with a super light horseradish garnish that had us licking our fingers. This was followed by an amazing vegetarian tartare that blew my mind. Then came an exquisite pumpkin ravioli with salmon roe and a slow cooked egg yolk. The next dish, served as cappuccino, was a delightful surprise of a delicate porcini mushroom bisque. After that, eggplant with carmelized skin and a frothy fennel foam. Everything was absolutely delicious, including the panna cotta dessert with meringue flakes, berries and an apple mint sorbet. We engaged both the owners and the chef, Stefano Rano, in titillating conversations on cooking and the love of food. Will definitely be back.

Highly recommend this restaurant ran by family. Very fine, but still warm and a bit informal. Children are welcome. Hidden in the mountains only 5 min drive from Lake Lugano. You cannot choose wrong here, but Chateau Briand, Beef Tartare and Risotto are worth mentioning. Worth every Euro.

Fabulous gluten free Michelin dinner - not pricy at all #senzaglutine #glutenfree #celiac #michelin We had quite expectations based on the good reviews, however were greatly surprised about the good service and perfect gluten free food! We had a wonderful dinner through all possible courses - have a look at the pictures. One of us is a celiac and getting everything "senza glutine" was not an issue at all. Highly recommended for anybody looking for good food - at regular Italian restaurant pricing.

Otto ristorante situato in una zona tranquilla sulla strada per Cuasso al Monte. Ottimi piatti preparati con cura e tanta qualità. Vini doc. Proprietari e personale gentili e non invadenti. Il prezzo e un po' Albino rispetto alla media, ma rispecchia la qualità dei piatti e la location. Non per altro è stato inserito nella guida Michelin 2019. Da provare. We had some high expectations when visiting this place because they were Michelin recommended. But guess that is somewhat outdated. The restaurant is uphill and has a nice outdoor area. Service is excellent. However dishes could be better. Squid potato salad was nice. Onion soup lacked some more broth but was merely melted cheese and onions, taste good but barely broth. Tagliatelle with canterelles was dry and lacked seasoning, the other pasta was much tastier. Chateaubriand is a generous plate for two with lots of sides vegetables. It was a nice ambiance but food could be better.

Very good local Italian food. Ask for seasonal specialties that aren't on the menu. Service is slow so avoid if you're in a hurry.

Gestione di seconda generazione. 30 anni fa era molto diverso. Menù scarno, poca scelta e particolare con un cappuccino al cacao al sapore (con molta fantasia) di funghi e una piccola brioches secca a 11€. Il resto è cucina casalinga. Il dolce è molto buono. Mi dispiace davvero molto. Location sempre bella e servizio impeccabile.

Accogliente ristorante nel cuore di Cuasso al Monte: locale dal soffitto e arredamento in legno, colori caldi, vista piacevole e atmosfera rilassante. Menu interessante e ricco di proposte ricercate, ma che purtroppo all'assaggio non ho apprezzato molto: ho trovato l'antipasto (tartare di carote)un mix di sapori con retrogusto alla senape troppo intenso, mentre il petto d'anatra con buon sapore e condimenti, al taglio si è presentato duro e gommoso (almeno secondo i miei gusti personali). Servizio elegante, gentile e professionale. L'esperienza è positiva, ma mi aspettavo qualcosa in più.

Buono. Trovato grazie alla guida Michelin in cui ha conquistato il "Bib Gourmand". Posto curato, ambiente intimo e rustico. Personale gentile e riservato. Cibo buono e menù ricco di proposte interessanti. Ho scelto di provare: Manzo Marinato Tartare di Carote Filetto di Cervo Petto d'Anatra Non tutte le portate le ho trovate di mio gradimento per questo motivo però non mi sento di sconsigliarlo. I miei piatti preferiti: Manzo Marinato e Petto d'Anatra.

Value for money is not right. We only had starter/priming. We felt like we got the “tourist-treatment”. Rather unfriendly, not caring to excuse a 45Min long waiting time for a starter.

Credo che la serietà si veda in primis, dalle "piccole cose". Cosa c'è scritto online? Oggi aperto fino alle 22.00 e nessuna scritta che gli orari potrebbero variare. Partiamo da Varese, arriviamo dopo non poca strada, e... sorpresa! "oggi siamo chiusi". Ma un bel vaffa ci sta tutto. E ripeto ciò che ho scritto all'inizio, la serietà si vede dalle piccole cose e qui a quanto pare, non ce n'è. Probabilmente non ha ancora chiuso perché non c'è altro nella zona.
