Opinions de BKK 101 Culver City
BKK 101 is ridiculously good. Their Pad Ka Pow (their take on pad gaprao) is genuinely the best Thai dish I've ever had. The depth of flavor in all their food is amazing. The curries, the noodles, the stir fries. The appetizers are varied, executed perfectly, and just delicious. I love spicy food, and BKK 101 delivers. If you're a chili head and can handle Thai spicy, you will not be disappointed. Man, I could eat here every day.
Okay, so what I love about “hidden gems” is that they get to retain all of their wow, without the rush of a crowd. I stopped by BK101 on a short (and secretive) stop through LA to take care of home matters. What I didn’t expect is to be swept off my feet with delicious food, warm hospitality and an experience of peaceful bliss while stuffing my face! 🤩 I began with the BANGKOK ROLL - an absolutely mesmerizing blend of mixed greens, cucumber, fresh basil, angel hair pasta and carrot wrapped in rice paper with sweet and sour sauce and mustard sauce. I bit into the first roll and it was like meeting Love. I was enamored with the quality of ingredients, the way the flavors complimented and elevated one another, the lightness of the meal, even with its robust, hearty taste. The only reason I didn’t order a second helping is because I really wanted to try something else on the menu. After having to pieces of the Bangkok Roll, I decided I was going to save the Tiger pieces for later and make a treat of it - that didn’t happen, I devoured the others. I ordered the SOM TUM (PAPAYA SALAD) next…if the Bangkok Rolls had me in love, the Som Tum was the proposal to this establishment and all else it had to offer. The way the flavors threw a party in my mouth created a celebration that literally had me dancing in my seat. The ingredient were so fresh, so well curated; the grilled jumbo shrimp were something out of my greatest culinary fantasy and was supremely pleasing with the green papaya, carrot, green beans, fish sauce, tomato’s, tamarind juice (my favorite), and a selection of other ingredients that sent me floating. I washed it all down with a GINGER ICED TEA and was ready for a nap on the beach. And as if that wasn’t enough, I certainly could not leave without having dessert; and what better dessert to indulge in than MANGO STICKY RICE. Now this…this was eternal! The mango alone was insanely fresh and juicy and foodgasmi. Paired with the profoundly delicious sticky rice and coconut cream, I was so full that I ended up taking half of the dessert home and finishing it before bed. What an experience! To make a long review short: I. LOVED. THIS. PLACE!!! I can’t wait to schedule my next trip so I can go back and work through more of the menu. If you haven’t been, “treat yo’self!” and get there, m’kay? And when you do, tell them Donny point you their way. And if you happen to see me there, don’t stare or be shy, say hi! 🤓
The appetizer was great! Good variety of Thai food.
I was too hungry to share a nice picture of the food ... but everything we ordered was so delicious. I will definitely go back.. The presentation of the plates were great as well. The ginger ice tea was perfect not too sweet just perfect. I can't wait to go back. The waitress was so professional and friendly.
Clean and comfortable environment. Mango sliced rice is wonderful.
Incredibly delicious and flavorful Thai food that tasted even better than most of the food I had in Thailand. The panang curry and roti curry were delightful. I even went back the next night for dinner.
This little spot is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in LA. I tend to find each restaurant has a specific dish or dishes that is more authentic or that I favor but BKK's entire menu is spot on. From Mama's ribs, larb gai, herbal wings and sticky rice, it's as close to Bangkok street food as you'll get in LA. This is Bangkok style so you won't get a lot of the herbs, lime and lemongrass of Isaan or the curries of the south, but you'll get authentic Bangkok style Thai food that every bite reminds you of those days walking the streets of Bangkok eating at food stalls. The staff are all very kind and sweet and besides what's on the menu they at one point offered catering but not sure if that's still an option. There's a lot of Thai food in LA, but not a lot of authentic Thai food. BKK101 should be on your short list of Thai spots to hit. Definitely try the her al wings, Mama's ribs, pork jerky and crying tiger with some chicken larb and sticky rice
We made it just before they were closing lunch, so we grabbed takeout. It was absolutely delicious. The spice was real. Fresh and flavorful. What a meal. Worth every penny.
Great place, such a gem! The wonton soup was fire, pad woon sen really excellent and the curry roti appetizer was an incredible surprise!
Comfortable space with inviting service. We were waited on - this means that upon arrival we were in conversation and asked for another moment. The service, boomeranging back, was not too early and allowed our conversation to finish. The food was delicious. Appetizers and the salad dressing deserve highlighting. The noodle dishes were flavorful and moist, yet they were not saucy and oily. Next time I’m leaving space for dessert.

This is one of the best Thai restaurants in West Los Angeles. The service is friendly and the food is tasty. I almost always order the duck noodles here. But the dishes my wife ordered were great, too. Even after I moved back to Japan and returned to town, the food has remained as tasty as ever.
I don’t typically write reviews, but BKK101 Thai Cuisine absolutely earned one. Everything I ordered — the Pad Thai, Papaya Salad, and Tom Yum soup — was spot on. The Pad Thai had that perfect mix of sweetness and tang, not too oily, and packed with flavor. The Papaya Salad was super fresh with just the right kick of spice and crunch, and the Tom Yum hit every note — rich, aromatic, and comforting. The service was friendly, the portions generous, and you can tell the food’s made with care. It’s easily one of the best Thai spots I’ve found in a while. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic flavors done right.
Most delicious noodle dishes u will never eat!! I recommend the pad Thai and the bkk noodle soup

We happened by chance at this place and I’m glad that we tried it. We ordered the Jade Curry with tofu, herbal wings and some brown and jasmine rice. The food arrived very quickly. Everything was really delicious, even the brown rice was nice and fluffy. The servings are on the small side though.

Exact location should be adjusted further toward Dufresne street; where the locations public is. Be aware of dinner time parking! I haven't had this in years! However the girly and I loved this place! I'm sure the food as good or better as it before.
Ordered a chicken pad Thai. Food quality is good, but a bit on the pricier side. I ordered pickup. No utensils, condiments or even napkins were given. I had to ask for chopsticks and the girl that handed it to me seemed annoyed I even asked. Asked for chili flakes and chili sauce and she only gave me a chili sauce annoyed. Had to ask again for chili flakes. Didn’t dare ask her for napkins due to her attitude. Not even a thank you from her either. Wouldn’t dine in here because of that.
Terrible value for the price of the food. Still hungry after spending $21. Taste is good.
I chose “mild” for the spicy level for my curry but it came out too spicy. Curry is not thick enough and lack of flavor except spicy. Pad Thai is all right. Thai fried rice is not flavorful and the rice is too soft.
Pad thai: 3/5 (decent, but could of had more flavor, more peanuts) Amber (yellow) curry: 2/5 (carrots and potatoes undercooked. Curry not thick enough or flavorful enough. Peanuts were a weird addition)

Ordered over Uber Eats a few days ago and I wish I didn’t, it was overpriced and absolutely not tasty. If I’ve dined in the food would’ve been sent back instantly. Larb is a dish known full of meat, I received a tiny tea spoon of pork horribly seasoned with a box full of vermicelli. The green curry was just sad. The only tasty thing wast the Roti curry, buuuut it was a tiny little bowl (even though I ordered large) with hair in it for extra kreatin. If you really want authentic and good thai food try Wat Thai Saturday and Sunday food market.

The food we ordered from here was inedible. Spoiled, vinegar-y Pad See Ew and frozen, quick defrosted veggies in the panang curry which was the worst panang I’ve had. There are so many great Thai places in LA. This was the worse Thai experience I’ve had in 18 years in LA. Maybe it’s because it was takeout? But either way, I’d be careful. I don’t excuse spoiled food sent to customers.
Horrible experience. Google showed they close at 10, we were there at 9.18 and the young girl said they close at 9.30. First of all they should update the time if they close early if not ask the employees to close at the mentioned time. The employee who was working had really bad attitude and was arguing about everything. First she said you can dine in if we can finish by 9.30 since it wasn’t possible we decided to only take to go order. Later told her we’ll only have soup and something in the restaurant since we were hungry and would take sometime to reach home. She was trying to close the restaurant, took the order and didn’t ask for spice level which she was supposed to do. I aksed her for spicy basil fried rice, she did original fried rice. By 9.40 they were still giving doordash orders and an old couple was having their dinner without any rush so when I asked her she said they came before 9.15 which is fair but we would have left by 10 too since we were there at 9.18. She was racist and only arguing. When I called her racist she tried to argue more calling me racist when I was politely talking to her all the time and she said I'm racist because I didn’t pay her tip, I don't understand how does that make any sense. The restaurant management should teach their employees some manners, politeness and update the time on google if they really close early.
