California Fish Grill is a great spot for fresh food and quick service. You can eat in or take it to go, which makes it super convenient. They even serve wine, which is a nice bonus. Ordering and checkout are done via kiosk, but the staff is friendly and helpful and happy to assist if you need it. Overall, an easy, enjoyable dining experience with consistently fresh food. Definitely recommend! 🐟🍷

I’m an incredibly picky eater 🫣 What I didn’t love was the posted menu did not have full description of items, what I did love is when going through the digital order menu it takes you through every step of choices, substitutions, each topping and if you want to omit anything. For an extremely picky eater this is a dream come true. Melanie was behind the counter to assist me with any help and/ or questions which I needed both. I asked about the ingredients of the kaleslaw and she diligently sought the correct answer. Confirmed, there is no mayonnaise in the kaleslaw 👍 There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (3pm on a Wednesday) and order was ready quickly. For me a terrible disaster was that the French fries were not fresh (3pm on a Wednesday) and they look like when fresh they would be fabulous. Next time I will specifically ask to make sure I receive fresh fries which I feel confident they will oblige. The Cajon fish tacos were definitely fresh, and full with a decent balance of fish to topping. The overall flavor was understated, even with all the toppings, but nice. I couldn’t detect any cajon seasonings, I thought there was something that said spicy but again, I couldn’t detect it. The corn tortilla was fresh and thick to hold out to the end of the taco 👍 Will definitely come again but will likely order a plate. Will definitely look forward to trying the fried fresh!

This is my favorite California Fish Grill and not just for the wild caught Atlantic Salmon. Melanie is keeper! Her smile is so welcoming. Her attention to customers seems genuine and authentic. You can tell that she’s one of their top employees. Her customer service makes the high prices worth it. Thank you CFG for hiring Melanie!

Incredible service and food, I went yesterday and although I have been several times, it is the first time that I have felt so good, so comfortable, above all Leslie made me feel so special, her customer service is incredible, good attitude and very patient, she helped me use the Kiosk and even afterward she was very helpful at the table! Thank you so much Leslie!!! The food was great, good flavor and hot! I would definitely come back many times.

We have been coming here for years. The service was pretty marginal in the past. But they much have new management. The service and food quality have really improved over the last couple of months. I give it 5 stars now.. Melanie and Julian are awesome. They are very genuine and always ask if we need anything. They actually seem ti enjoy their jobs and always have a smile on their face! Very impressive!!!

I got a grilled chicken taco, and dynamite fries, and my friend got a teriyaki salmon protein bowl, and battered fish and chips(fries) with koleslaw. I got to take a bite of theirs, and I really liked the battered fish, it was tender on the inside and perfect crisp on the outside. The salt seasoning was perfect too. They really enjoyed their salmon protein bowl. I really liked the dynamite fries, but the chicken taco wasn't really good. It was a soft tortilla with little to no seasoning in the inside. But probably should know better to not order chicken at a fish grill place. But I definitely will come back to try their fish bowls again. It was a busy place but staff was attentive and friendly.

This restaurant has decent quality of service the food took about 20 minutes to make and serve. The quality of the food was ok my shrimp did not have the famous grill taste I was looking for and should have had for a grill restaurant. The parking for this restaurant was limited and hard to find. I paid 34 dollars for 2 shrimp salads and for what I got this restaurant is definitely expensive. The staff were friendly and welcoming, overall this restaurant was ok and I would consider it if you don’t mind spending the extra money.

Decent food options with healthy seafood and fulfilling sides! We ordered food to go through a tablet (seems to be the only option) for a kale and avocado salad, a side of fried calamari, and grilled mahi mahi with kale slaw and fries. Everything is tasty but the salad could be a little better (avocado not ripe enough and not cut apart). Overall we are pleased with the food and will come back again!

California Fish Grill is quite tasty. It is not the best in the world, but it is priced very fairly and it is good. Located in Culver City (it is a small chain) this one is very pretty on the outside and inside. You can eat inside or on their lovely patio. You can also get take away and delivery. They keep the place pretty clean, inside and out. I was not pleased to have to wipe my own table when workers, in uniform, were sitting in one of the booths, one doing paper work and the others doing nothing but sitting there. I think paperwork and breaks need to be away from customers. Also, if you are sitting in the main dinning area all the tables should be clean, I don't care if that is your job or not. The outside was spotless except for one table not yet cleaned. It is very cute inside. There is a huge menu on the wall and one near the door. You order at the counter and they like you to use these computer screens which I can't stand. The staff I dealt with was having a very hard time helping me with the screen and they should know it well. I should also have the option of ordering from a real human being, there were enough of them there. The screen was confusing especially with the large menu. Once you have ordered, you get a number and they call you to pick up your food. I would rather they bring it to the table. No one came by to check on us and I was not about to deal with the screen again to order desert, we just went elsewhere for that. The food itself is good. We had a lovely fish with a sauce on it and asparagus and fish and chips. We had side orders of beans and I had rice with my fish and chips and fried shrimp as well as the chips (French fries.). The food did not wow us at all. But it was good and everyone looked happy. The batter for the fish and chips tasted just like the batter for the fried shrimp. The fried shrimp had way too much thick batter, but the shrimp was good. I really liked the deep fried fish. The rice was also very good. The beans were very watery and not very good. The fries were soggy and bland. I did not eat them. The fish plate with the asparagus was excellent. It had a great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The asparagus was also cooked to perfection and the sauce on top was excellent. We may try it again, but I am not sure. We did love the fish plate, and my deep fried fish was very good. But the rest was not great, but it was fine. My 4 stars is a gift because of the wonderful fish plate. Without that, it would be a 3. Also, I really thought the prices were super fair. So maybe, who knows, but I think it is just a thing with me that when I have to clean my own table while employees are sitting at a booth that makes me wonder if they care. But try it, you might like it and there is a lot to choose from.

It's hard to find good seafood at a reasonable price anymore. California Fish Grill had fit the bill and I previously had given them 5 stars unti I started ordering out. It's a clean restaurant offering a fresh variety of choices on the menu in a laid back environment. There is outdoor dining. But ordering out is a completely different experience. I've ordered the fish & shrimp combo to go twice (Uber) and was completely disgusted again . The fries were half cooked, greasy, disgusting. No tartar sauce. No shrimp sauce. I'm definitely not going to be ordering out or even coming back there to California Fish Grill again. And I was a regular customer for 6+ years. They've offered to replace the dinner so long as I buy one. Do you think that they'll remember me 3 months from now? Let alone 6 months?? It will take at least that long to get the shity taste out of my mouth. Like I'm just going to stroll in to the restaurant and tell them that they owe me??? It's with all confidence that I can highly not recommend California Fish Grill anymore. For your protection. I just wasted $40+ dollars for nothing. 😯

Came here a couple of times but today was the worst of the worst/first time having the lobster rolls did I mention I'm a retired chef/now let's get to the facts The sandwich still has shell then I put some type of string out of it that they swear wasn't a vein claim it's made out of a crab claw well I'm not sure of what it was made out of but I know I pulled the disgusting stringer vein out and a shell that I could have choked or swallowed and died from/when I called and brought this important matter to the manager's attention he had a nasty arrogant attitude like it was my fault did I mention I ordered this food at 11:20 a.m. after they shortly open so somebody please tell me how did I get such a lousy plate of food that I had to take back get a refund and now have nothing to eat for dinner tonight thanks Love it.. to other customers you've been warned maybe you'll get better service. PS not all black people are the same some of us want our food with pride and dignity and respect..🤢🤢🤢

We had a very disappointing experience at California Fish Grill. My fiancé waited about 20–30 minutes for my order and spent over $100, only to be told that our food was given away to someone else. What made it worse was the lack of accountability or accommodation. The only solution offered was to remake the food, no apology, no compensation for the inconvenience, nothing. They also took my receipt, and when the food was remade, items we had specifically corrected and paid for were missing, including extra garlic butter, ranch, and other add-ons. Overall, the situation was handled very unprofessionally. For the amount of money spent and time waited, we expected much better service and attention to detail.
