Opinions de Meet in Paris Culver City
This is our family's favorite spot in LA. The staff is incredible from the ownership to the servers. The food has always been excellent, and they have created a sublime atmosphere that is enjoyable and welcoming to all. It is the perfect place to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, or just to enjoy a delicious and affordable meal with your family. The service at Meet in Paris far exceeds the mundane, impersonal norm that we see all across the city; the staff remembers names and faces, the owner is on the floor bussing tables, pouring wine, and curating the music himself, and we have never once had to wait for a dish to come out. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, and our family will continue to frequently visit for as long as we are in LA.
We were a bit surprised by this great little French bistro in L.A.’s Culver City neighborhood. Friday features a Prix fixe menu with great typical French bistro dishes, all very well done. The owner Sebastian greeted us, we had great conversation and left planning to return as soon as possible.
Tried this place on a Sunday afternoon during Dine LA week. The escargot was great in flavor; a bit of lemon would have made it excellent. The salmon was tasty as well and beautifully garnished. The service was nice and courteous but a bit slow. The atmosphere on their outside dining area was fun when watching the game on their TV and enjoying the breeze. Overall a nice place and fun place if you’re in the area.
I've always enjoyed the wide array of how mussels are served here. Its uncommon to see them at all in LA. This restaurant also has a great chocolate dessert that isn't too sweet. The tables are pretty tiny, so try to space out your food orders so you actually have room. The outdoor sitting area along the street is very pleasant, and there are often street musicians playing. The service is also good.
They have a lot of really delicious menu options, something for everyone! The heated patio was really cozy. The wait staff was knowledgeable about the menu items and were all very friendly. The goat cheese and pesto flat bread was absolutely divine. The chicken pesto pasta was super fresh tasting. However, I feel like the dish could have benefited from having a chicken breast on top vs cut into cubes and mixed throughout. It looks like there isn't a lot of chicken when it's mixed in like that- this isn't enough for me to remove stars though. The spicy penne was also very delicious!
What a lovely place to enjoy dinner on a Friday night. There was indoor and outdoor seating. It might have been a little brisk outside for March, but they had the tall heaters plus gas fireplaces separating their patio into two. The ambiance was very upscale but casual and California easy. The service was terrific, the food was delicious, the drinks were very good. The mussels were fresh and in unique broths. Their lobster flatbread was amazing. The tuna tartar was noteworthy. We lived in Europe and I'll take this and day of the week. We found parking in the nearby public parking structures. We'd go again.
Alright! Been here enough times now to write a review. I will start this off with. The staff is awesome. VERY helpful, professional and always tentative. Plenty of outdoor and in door seating. This place is such a gem. And I'm so glad it's here. I've had many things on the menu here. But I will write about my favorites. French onion soup. The broth isn't overly salty like some places. The onions are perfectly caramelized. The bread and cheese is perfectly placed and melted. If you like French onion soup. I HIGHLY recommend theirs. It's absolutely delicious! Lobster ravioli. Although this dish is rather small. It only includes 3 "larger" ravioli's but it is an excellent dish. The pink sauce is made right. Topped with cheese and grilled asparagus cut into smaller pieces. You can't go wrong with this one. Escargot. Perfectly made with herbs and lots butter. What's not to like about this? If you want food escargot they do it right here. Mussels with lobster sauce. The sauce is rich. Mussels are fresh tasting. Display is excellent. The ambiance of this place depends on the time of day you go. Weekdays are usually my go to for dinner. As these days are a little more calm and relaxed. Atmosphere is great. No loud noise perfect setting to actually have a clear conversation. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely. If you love French onion soup get it. You will not be disappointed. And their selections on sauces for their mussels is amazing. Thank you to the staff for always taking care of me and my groups. Looking forward to the next visit Decor: New modern clean. Staff: no issues they always make it right. Food: above average Bathrooms: N/A haven't used them yet. Will update when that time comes.
A lovely French bistro with friendly service and amiable environ. Perhaps I’d say upfront that foodwise not everything was so great to my taste. The chef obviously salted the soup way too generously - I could barely take any spoonful. I too wished that the caper in the steak tartare did not overshadow the meat itself. Nevertheless, from the beginning one was presented with the kind of baguette and butter that brought simple but true joy. Moreover, the tomato tarte tatin turned out to be unexpectedly delicious - the excellent puff pastry topped with tomato confit, pear and blue cheese equated such a harmonious delight! So I loved the Moules Bisque - the broth concentrated itself with the right amount of butter/creaminess plus umami (and nothing else - no excess salt or fishiness), altogether elevating the fresh mussels.
Updating because came on a busy Friday night and had Better service and crab cakes & tuna tartare was great as was the rosé and freshly baked sourdough and butter. Seems servers might be hit or miss but last nights was a hit Nice place but Wine is overpriced and overrated. Thursday option is good byob. Mussels are good as is the ratatouille. Calamari nothing exciting but not bad. Jazz outside is a nice touch. Service is hit or miss - it’s friendly but once they’re even slightly busy you feel neglected with no wine or water refills and had to ask multiple times for a check. Overall 3.5
This is a nice spot in Culver for some French style food. $26 for the bento was a good deal. Seafood risotto, soup, fruits and dessert. 👍 $32 for steak and fries was decent. Most notable is the Happy Hour at 3-6:30pm. Lots of great offerings. There was one gentleman serving everyone at 4pm. He tried his best to accommodate, I just helped myself a few times to get my service.
Interesting. I came here 7 years ago and remarked that the service was incredibly SLOW. Went again today and had the same experience. Our entrees came out literally an hour after we first sat down. We were starving. That said, the food was quite good. Tomato Tart - Blue cheese, caramelized pears, tomato, puff pastry...how can you go wrong? Really enjoyed this. Steak frites - the steak was delicious and topped with a salted parsley (maybe?) butter that was delicious. Fries were excellent. Chocolate Fondant - This was probably my least favorite of everything we tried, which didn't stop me from eating the whole thing. But it had a sort of Hershey's quality to it rather than a rich, dark chocolatey flavor.
French in name. Only. The vibe is just another restaurant. ⬇️The quality of product. The portion to price. Price to quality, martinis ⬆️service, speed and efficiency, plenty of TVs, good for game days, outdoor dining Not a destination
So besides the slight lag in service, as in people after us were served first. The lobster bisque had such title flavor and lobster in it. Felt more like a broth was not a fan and I’m going with this they improve their ingredients and add some more to it
It’s been absolute years since I’ve been here, so I was glad to see that they were still open. We came here just for the dessert this time around and it was okay. I liked the chocolate soufflé more than the apple pie which was too sweet. They have a huge patio space now although the tables itself felt a bit cramped compared to how large the size was.
Decent French lunch spot, we got the Artichoke, Crab cakes, Duck taco, Bread and butter, and mussels. I highly recommend their cocktails, and their bread was crisp, light, and fresh. Their mussels and the broth was delicious, dipped our bread in that as well. The rest of the dishes weren’t memorable. If you’re in need of casual happy hour, I recommend this place.
I love exploring the restaurants in Culver City, where I live. It's a great way to support the local economy and enjoy some delicious food. I have been to Meet in Paris a few times and it always has a lively and cozy atmosphere. The food here is usually good, but not exceptional. The highlight of our meal was the charcuterie and cheese platter, which was tasty. The rest of the dishes were just OK (and the escargots were a disappointment, they were greasy and bland). The service was a bit slow, too. We got our cheese platter quickly, but then we had to wait for almost half an hour for our main courses. That was a bit frustrating, especially since the restaurant wasn't that busy at 5:30pm. Charcuterie & Cheese Platter: 5 Escargot: 2 Boeuf Bourguignon: 3 Chicken Sandwich: 3 Dark Chocolate Mousse: 3
Unfortunately, everything we ordered was underwhelming. The truffle fries were undercooked and lacked any noticeable truffle flavor. The garlic escargot was drenched in pesto sauce, which completely overpowered the dish and masked the flavors you would expect. The cocktail was also disappointing, it tasted more like a White Claw than a crafted drink. The only items that were decent were the French onion soup and the duck tacos.
Not sure if their chef changed but it was so much worse than the last time I came here. Possibility the worst French food I’ve had. The escargot was overcooked, tasteless, and too oily. Steak tartare was drowned in mustard sauce and diced unevenly, all the bread was burnt. And the seafood paella was too salty and watery. Was going to talk to the owner about this but hope it gets better soon…
Really disappointing dinner experience here mostly due to the service overall. Our server was kind, but she didn't seem tuned into the timing of everything. Between getting our drinks and her coming to take our order, maybe fifteen minutes passed? Eventually we flagged her down from the hostess stand where she was chatting with someone else on the waitstaff. Then during our meal we were nearly done before she came by to check on us (and I had wanted more ketchup and salt). The happy hour burger was good, but they don't allow modifications on happy hour items, which seems arbitrary (they weren't busy till happy hour was long over, so this rule can't be about saving time). Don't you want your customers to be satisfied (doesn't seem like a lot to ask to hold the cheese)? The fries were unevenly seasoned and like short stumps--like mostly bits of fries after the top layer of normally sized fries. Can't say we'll be back.
Absolutely horrible service. The server told me I should get another option to watch my figure. I’ve never been so disrespected in my life. The food was terrible and was under cooked. I had to send back my steak frites twice to get it cooked medium rare and it was raw both times. They should really hire more respectful servers and more competent chefs. The owner is a very pompous individual as well. Told us if they had to cook the steak one more time I would have to leave and pay for a raw steak. Please do not eat here, you will either get sick or disrespected.
I’ve been to this place multiple times, it’s been my favorite go to for dinner and bottomless mimosas on the weekends. I’ve never had an issue with the restaurant up until now. When me and my friends went for bottomless mimosas, we were cut off after an hour “because we drank too much already” and were threatened to be cut off if we didn’t slow down. There were 4 of us there and each of us got an entree with our drinks. We were not drunk and were behaving as everyone around us was. After asking to speak to the manager MULTIPLE times, we got insulted instead and were asked to leave. We came to celebrate international women’s day but instead got horrible service. If the bottomless mimosas had limitations as to how much you can request to drink, it should have been disclosed right away and not when we have been dining and drinking for an hour. What was once my favorite French place to eat good food and have brunch with drinks turned into the last place I would go to. Do better.
