The manager, Andrew, goes above and beyond for all his customers. I wish I could name all the employees that have positively impacted my experiences over the years but I would surely run out of room in this review. From deliciously consistent lattes in the mornings to full meals in the afternoon, they've never missed the mark. This is by far the best location; esthetics, atmosphere, location, staff, service, and food/drinks. Seasonal drink specials are a must try, and you can never go wrong with the Italian Pane Aria for lunch. Quick and friendly service everytime, but you can expect longer waits on the busy weekends (they're incredibly popular, what can more can I say)

The ambiance was amazing! I love the whole vibe and the decor. I’m a coffee snob and have to say that I had the best cold brew here. It’s strong, delicious, and definitely doesn’t have that bitter taste! The food was so delicious! I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the Dallas area again!

Had another wonderful experience here. Brought my SVP of sales here for coffee & breakfast when he was in town. We met the Manager, Andrew, and he sat down with us as we had a few questions regarding partnering together for facilities services for all their locations. Highly recommend this restaurant for sit down or for coffee to-go! So many options to choose from, and so good that I keep coming back!

I haven’t been here in years. But coming back the atmosphere was very nice and inviting. I sat outside on the outdoor patio to get some work done however they didn’t have any outlets outside, but they did have an outlet inside at a round table that I eventually moved to. The weight staff was very kind and attentive. The food was excellent and came out quickly. I can definitely see myself visiting again.

This place of just great!!!! The staff the vibe and the Food & Drink!!! I mean great options here….even as they were closing or preparing they still wanted us to enjoy every minute of our time! No rush no pressure answer all questions about the menu and flights ….. definitely a sit and enjoyyyyyyy unwind and appreciate…..the patio is great too with natural shade from the vines to enjoy fresh air and good scenery!!! Ascension Coffee in the Design District of Dallas absolutely delivered, even though we were just passing through and didn’t get to stay long. I found this spot based on its stellar ratings, and even a short visit was enough to make a lasting impression. The interior is beautifully divided into several visually distinct spaces-at least six different wall treatments that subtly separate the layout without making it feel disjointed. Each section has its own aesthetic, yet everything flows seamlessly together. The overall design is warm, modern, and inviting, with a stylish bar area that adds an extra touch of charm. I ordered a cortado, and it was exceptional-perfectly balanced, well-crafted, and exactly what I needed. The croissant I picked up was fresh and clearly baked that day, which you can always taste. The pastry display was appealing and curated, not overwhelming, with just enough variety. The atmosphere inside was vibrant yet calm, with an interesting, well-dressed crowd that gave the space a cosmopolitan vibe. The staff were friendly and quick, adding to the relaxed and enjoyable experience. And yes, the fact that they also serve alcohol is always a plus in a coffee shop-it makes the space work both for morning coffee and afternoon wind-downs. This place is definitely going on my list of must-visits every time I’m in Dallas. Looking forward to spending more time here next trip.

The food was amazing! The place was packed, I think the servers were a bit stretched because it was so busy- and understandably so- the food and the coffee were absolutely delicious! I would’ve chosen a bit more neutral music- it felt like a club vibe when we walked in at first- but someone must have turned the music down, because it did get better the longer we were there. The steak hash and french toast were to die for!

AMAZING FOOD!! Had a quick girls trip and went here for breakfast. Man, it was pricey but so delicious! Would definitely visit again the next time I am in Dallas.

Love this place! Always a must visit when in DFW, they have the best food, drinks, service! Great prices for the healthy food options they have and the coffee is on point! Definitely check them out!

Really nice and spacious place. Parking not so much. Our server was very friendly, but pretty leisurely. The lattes were amazing, no surprise. But the food was hit or miss. My dad LOVED his burger, but my omelette was dry and lacking in flavor. The potatoes were awesome though. I’ll go again and try something different

The coffee at Ascension is 5⭐️ but the food is generally 3⭐️. The service averages out to be good because some of the staff are exceptional (Michael) and others allow their personal life struggles to bleed into their work demeanor. The atmosphere teeters between being really good and ok depending on how well the air conditioning is cooling and dehumidifying the place and how clean the staff cleans up the dining room. Overall, the probability is that you’ll have a good experience at this location.

It’s a very popular place you can easily reach across a parking lot from Hotel Crescent Court. The bagel tasted ok.

It sucks to have to leave such a review, but my grievances must be aired. I love the coffee here and I have now been here three times, but unfortunately each experience left the same taste in my mouth. The food I ordered both times was nothing to write home about but also came out quickly and was fairly priced. My two major problems that myself and my friends experienced while here: the parking and "complimentary" valet, and the service or lack thereof. This place only has ~6 parking spots available to the public and the other 3/4 of the parking lot are blocked off by cones or "to go" spots, meaning if you want to park and go in, you have to interact with a "free" valet that makes sure you know that they "work for tips here," so how free is it really? Why on earth would you close off your parking lot just to scalp a few extra bucks from each of your customers because of the unfriendly parking situation? Open up the lots??? Also, when I go to a coffee shop, I usually don't want to be bothered so I can work, but numerous employees emphasize how they are "full service" model here. Full service where? I will be sitting at a table without water, an empty plate, or looking around for my "waiter" and they will be nowhere to be found. If you want to run an "aloof" business model then do that, but don't say its full service and then give terrible service and expect 20%. Unfortunately this was not specific to one waiter/waitress but happened multiple times. Overall, this would be a great place to stop and hang out, but these two rather large issues make it hard for me to want to come back. Let me know when your parking is ACTUALLY free!

This used to be my favorite cafe in dallas and their drinks and coffee are still top notch. I tried their riverside punch (Kyoto cold brew with chai) and it was delicious. Well-balanced flavors and surprisingly refreshing But I am very disappointed in the baked goods. I ordered a fresh croissant at 9am and asked for it to be toasted, the croissant came completely stale and tasted like it had been left on the counter for a day. The dough was so tough and dry to chew and swallow. The waiter confirmed that it was fresh from bakery that they received in the morning. Truly unacceptable quality. I took a bite and told the waiter that it's inedible, he threw the croissant away but I still got charged (which I'm okay with). I had their brunch food in the past which I liked but this croissant puts me off and made me doubtful of their other food offerings. I will only return for drinks in the future. Baked goods should be fundamental of a boutique coffee shop. This is truly disappointing.

$15 dollars for THIS? A shot of yogurt and five berries. My 2 yo's kid size yogurt is more robust. Their portions were once way more reasonable, this is ridiculous. Shameful.

The locals must know something that I don't, service was super slow and honestly the atmosphere, good food and great coffee are not worth their ridiculous pricing for a half banana, one strawberry and a handful of nuts... The food shown in the photo was $20 WITHOUT tip...

The atmosphere of this place is excellent — I really loved it. However, I was a bit disappointed with my order. I asked for sunny-side-up eggs but received scrambled eggs instead. I didn’t mention it at the time because I was very hungry after finishing my fast. I also noticed there were quite a few employees standing around without much to do. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, so it seemed unnecessary to have that many staff members, especially when they weren’t paying much attention while taking orders. That said, the food itself was absolutely delicious, and I genuinely enjoyed the flavors. With a little more attention to service, this place could easily be perfect.

I honestly don’t understand how this place is getting the ratings it has. From the start, the table we sat at wasn’t clean, and even after asking, no one came to wipe it down. We also asked for tissues but never got any response. The food was a huge disappointment—the bacon was undercooked, the French toast was bland, and the coffee somehow tasted oily, which was very off-putting. Overall, the food was barely edible. Definitely not worth the hype. I will not be recommending Ascension Coffee, and I won’t be visiting again.
